- Sorry we missed this. Were you able to find the answer for which you were looking? If not, please consider joining us on IRC at #miraheze connect or on Discord where we have an active contingent of volunteers. Community noticeboard is also a viable option as well; however, for CSS/JS and template questions, Discord and IRC seem to be most advantageous and beneficial. Thank you. Talk page and noticeboard guidelines[edit source]
Hi WikiJS,
Please remember to sign all talk page, user talk page, and noticeboards with four tildes (~~~~
) to include both a link to your user or user talk page and, perhaps most critically, a timestamp for when you made your posts, as I've had to add {{unsigned}} signatures for you here and here as a result of your missed signatures here and here. Please note that signing one's posts consistently, with greater than 98-99% accuracy, is one a fundamental requirement for maintaining autopatrolled
rights. I'll monitor your posts and threads on talk pages over the next few weeks, so please ensure you are making a solid effort to improve in this area.
Thanks,
Dmehus (talk) 19:10, 15 March 2021 (UTC)
- I greatly apologize, and I will try my hardest to sign pages. Thanks for helping me grow! WikiJS 19:15, 15 March 2021 (UTC)
- WikiJS Thank you. The above is a good, sort of related example. You seem to have inadvertently added the
<nowiki></nowiki>
tags to your reply, possibly switching from VisualEditor's visual to source editing mode. Please double-check your wikitext code before hitting "submit," and consider using the "preview" option for every post. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 19:17, 15 March 2021 (UTC)- Hm, I don't switch to source editing mode while writing comments. I always use the VisualEditor, as I feel like that's the easiest for me. WikiJS 19:26, 15 March 2021 (UTC)
- Oh, well, that might be the cause...I'm not sure what the cause is then, and it's fine to use visual editing mode; just make sure you're using the previews and not inadvertently hitting the
nowiki
tag button instead of the signature button. Dmehus (talk) 19:29, 15 March 2021 (UTC)- Alright, thanks. WikiJS 19:33, 15 March 2021 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Reception123. One or more of your recent contributions to Meta:Requests for permissions seemed to be a test and has been removed. If you would like to make test edits, please use the sandbox, or, preferably, use the Miraheze Test Wiki. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can ask for assistance here. Thanks.

- I was playing around in my wiki and it brought me into meta??? I'm not sure what happened though WikiJS 16:26, 18 March 2021 (UTC)
- I didn't mean to vandalize the wiki, it just randomly brought me there WikiJS 16:26, 18 March 2021 (UTC)
- I do greatly apologize for some damages that was caused there. WikiJS 16:27, 18 March 2021 (UTC)
- I think this: https://memes.miraheze.org/wiki/Memipedia:Requests_for_permissions is linked to the main wiki, and I was using that for some testing WikiJS 16:29, 18 March 2021 (UTC)

- @Reception123: I'm confused on what happened, I was on my wiki with an import of requests for permissions, but then all edits happened in my wiki happened in meta?? WikiJS 16:32, 18 March 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not sure, maybe you accidentally clicked on a link or had a redirect set up? Reception123 (talk) (C) 16:32, 18 March 2021 (UTC)
- oh I think I know what happened, I clicked on the link that led me to meta, I was confused what happened to the edits I had on my wiki, so I went again and re-edited it. WikiJS 16:34, 18 March 2021 (UTC)
- WikiJS Yeah, I was just going to suggest I wondered if maybe you clicked on one of the default group names in Special:ListGroupRights on your Memepedia wiki, though there's
bureaucrat
is intentionally a redlink on new wikis. Alternatively, if you setMeta
as aProject:
namespace alias in Special:ManageWiki/namespaces on your wiki, that would definitely interfere with themeta
interwiki prefix on your wiki, so that may have been the issue. At any rate, this seems to have been resolved, which is great to see. Dmehus (talk) 17:54, 18 March 2021 (UTC)

Your signature[edit source]
Hi WikiJS,
Thank you for creating your signature. I noted, though, that it seems to have been copied and adapted from this signature. This is one of the wonderful things about CreativeCommons; however, you should provide attribution to its creator, Universal Omega, in an edit summary like this:
Copied from [[User:Universal Omega/Sig]] created by [[User:Universal Omega|Universal Omega]]
Thanks,
Dmehus (talk) 16:38, 23 March 2021 (UTC)
- Wouldn't that show up on the signature as well? Is there a way to hide the attribution? WikiJS Talk | Contributions | Current Status 16:50, 23 March 2021 (UTC)
- WikiJS Nope, not if you make a dummy edit to your signature page in order to add an edit summary. Dmehus (talk) 16:51, 23 March 2021 (UTC)
- Should have noted it said "Edit Summary". My bad, and I will add credits for the signature. — Preceding unsigned comment added by WikiJS (talk • contribs) 16:54, 23 March 2021 (UTC)

- WikiJS Your signature is technically broken now, as it's breaking talk pages. Please fix this. Thanks. Note I have temporarily replaced your broken signature with {{unsigned}} until it's fixed. Dmehus (talk) 17:22, 23 March 2021 (UTC)
- Hm, looking at my signature source, everything seems fine, so I don't see what is breaking the talk page. WikiJS Talk | Contributions | Current Status 17:24, 23 March 2021 (UTC)

- WikiJS It's incompatible with DiscussionTools extension. I suspect it is related to the positioning of your
<span></span>
tags. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 17:26, 23 March 2021 (UTC)- Also, my text has now been made small, and I can't find what's causing it. Can you please revert to a standard signature and sandbox this in your sandbox on TestWiki? Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 17:29, 23 March 2021 (UTC)
Confirmation edit for Metatable[edit source]
Hi WikiJS,
Since you apparently created Metatable logged out in this log action, would you mind having that alternate account confirm that it is an alternate account of WikiJS, perhaps by making an edit following this edit?
As a best practice when creating alternate accounts, you should try and create alternate accounts while logged in to your main account. This avoids having to create confirmation edits.
Thanks,
Dmehus (talk) 18:07, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
- Ah, alright. WikiJS talk 18:19, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
- WikiJS Thanks. I mean, Metatable did create the redirects, but that's not an explicit confirmation edit, so it really is preferable. Dmehus (talk) 18:22, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
- Can't edit it, it disallowed me. But this is
my alternative account. Metatable (talk) 18:28, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
- No problem. That works, too. Plus, the attempted edit in the abuse log also counted. So, I've
recorded that for future reference for you. Dmehus (talk) 18:30, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
- Do you need me to confirm my other alternative accounts? WikiJS talk 18:44, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
- WikiJS Thank you for the reply, and for being proactive. For JoeAverageCupOfJoe,
no because it was created while logged into your main account. For Jetnet, also
no because it was also created while logged into your main account. For LocalJS, also
no because it, too, was created while logged into your main account. You can, however, feel free to link to this diff, if you want, on your User:WikiJS/Alts page that lists these verifications. Dmehus (talk) 21:28, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
