Can I be staff[edit source]

Can I be Staff please? Why? Because I’ll be Useful. ThomasTheTrainFan2 (talk) 21:58, 10 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

ThomasTheTrainFan2 Thank you for your question, which I have procedurally moved from community noticeboard to here, where it is more appropriately placed due to the personal nature of this request. To your question, Miraheze has zero staff, so there's no staff, per se, to join. Miraheze Limited, as a corporation, is governed by a volunteer board of directors, currently consisting of four (4) appointees. All community aspects of Miraheze are run by community-elected global functionaries. The Miraheze board delegates the technical infrastructure management to system administrators, who are sometimes called "staff," but as can be seen, this term is quite inadequate and incorrect in many respects. At any rate, community-elected positions require high levels of trust. With two global edits, both of which were to this wiki, there's no way to establish that. You can, however, request a wiki, taking care to describe a clear purpose, scope, and topic(s) for your wiki in several sentences or so, and you will be "staff" on your wiki, as all Miraheze customer wikis are run by local functionaries elected by the local wiki community. Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 00:33, 11 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
My old Account is User:ThomasTheTrainFan, I lost it because I forget my password. ThomasTheTrainFan2 (talk) 23:53, 11 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
ThomasTheTrainFan2 Okay, well it looks like you've recovered your access to this second account, so perhaps you can try different password combinations for ThomasTheTrainFan and maybe you'll have success? At any rate, do be sure and add a confirmed e-mail address in Special:Preferences for this account. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 00:05, 12 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

new message for Dmehus[edit source]

I made Tankipedia and I want you to change user type from normal to wiki founder. ThomasTheTrainFan2 (talk) 00:14, 12 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

ThomasTheTrainFan2, I'm conferring with other Stewards on possible next steps here, and will reply to you within 24-48 hours. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 03:45, 15 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Are you going to change me to staff on Tankipedia? ( I made this wiki in ThomasTheTrainFan (1) ) ThomasTheTrainFan2 (talk) 19:56, 16 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
ThomasTheTrainFan2 I'm conferring with another Steward, Void, on a possible alternative method of transferring rights from your apparent alternate account to this account, but first we need to confirm that the two accounts are indeed the same. Please just give us another couple days. Alternatively, you may also hold a local election on Tankipedia for the positions of bureaucrat and sysop on your wiki and {{ping}} me here in about 5-7 calendar days when your local election concludes. In the meantime, please just continue editing Tankipedia. Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 03:08, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Ok, you can edit “User:ThomasTheTrainFan” into this,
Ok, you can edit “User:ThomasTheTrainFan” into this,
'#'REDIRECT [[User:ThomasTheTrainFan]]
You don’t had to do it. Plus I will make another wiki. ThomasTheTrainFan2 (talk) 19:48, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
ThomasTheTrainFan2 I've  done this per your request, but as a soft redirect on your apparent other account's global user page so we (a) don't create hard redirects on every wiki, (b) the target user page does not exist, so would be a broken redirect, and because (c) interwiki hard redirects are mildly disruptive to users and should be avoided. In any events, have you started your local election as described above yet? That would be my preferred option to transfer rights to you. Dmehus (talk) 19:56, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Wiki Request #16696[edit source]

Hi ThomasTheTrainFan2,

I'm mildly disappointed that you instead submitted the above request for a duplicate wiki in this request despite my asking you not to do this above, so please ensure you do not resubmit it or otherwise edit it, and instead hold a local election, following the guidelines for such things, on tankipediawiki, and after five to seven calendar days, a Steward (such as me) can be requested to assess your election and grant rights.

Thanks,
Dmehus (talk) 20:22, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Um, I was making Tanki“species” and that a Tanki“pedia” project ThomasTheTrainFan2 (talk) 20:27, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Well, fictional tank engines aren't species, they're tank engines. This, this is a duplication. So, please hold a local election, as described above. Also, please do not change my comment as you did here, by changing assess into a**ess. The word is assess, not the plural of ass. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 20:36, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I know, did you seen a animal in “Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends”? and plus, the Trains have Faces ThomasTheTrainFan2 (talk) 21:49, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Assigning human qualities to inanimate objects or non-human beings doesn't make them a species though; this process is called personification (see also personification). Dmehus (talk) 21:53, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
........let’s just make this a Mini-Tankipedia project. ThomasTheTrainFan2 (talk) 21:57, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
ThomasTheTrainFan2 No, this  cannot be done. You need to hold a local election on tankipediawiki in order to take over Tankipedia wiki, which is the correct and only solution here. Dmehus (talk) 22:04, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
keep talking..... ThomasTheTrainFan2 (talk) 22:18, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I was trying to show you the logo and YOU REMOVED IT. Don't be mad ThomasTheTrainFan2 (talk) 22:26, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I deleted File:Tankispec.jpeg as it is out of scope of Meta Wiki, the central coordination wiki for Miraheze. In any case, as I said above, the solution here is for you to hold a local election on Tankipedia, not to request duplicated but slightly renamed wikis. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 22:29, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── did you like the logo? ThomasTheTrainFan2 (talk) 22:31, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

It was a nice logo, yes. Please let me know if there's anything unclear on holding a local election on Tankipedia, otherwise, I will consider the matter closed, and wait to hear from you 5-7 calendar days. :) Dmehus (talk) 22:32, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I don’t know what a local election is, why won’t you ask The Fat Controller? ThomasTheTrainFan2 (talk) 22:41, 17 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Please, don't be silly. A local election is an election on your wiki as Dmehus described above in his first post here. Reception123 (talk) (C) 08:47, 18 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Responding to your reminder of your outstanding local election on my user talk page, thank you for the reminder, ThomasTheTrainFan2. I'll include my typical closing Steward remarks here instead. ThomasTheTrainFan2 advised me at User talk:ThomasTheTrainFan2 (and at User talk:ThomasTheTrainFan) that they couldn't remember the password for their apparent ThomasTheTrainFan user account and that they didn't register an e-mail address to their account. I advised ThomasTheTrainFan2 instead to hold a local election, which they've done here. ThomasTheTrainFan2, I find that there there is no opposition of the community to promote you to the positions of bureaucrat and sysop, and you are so declared elected by acclamation. Indeed, notwithstanding ThomasTheTrainFan, you are the wiki's only contributor. Additionally, as a helpful reminder, Miraheze operates upon the premise of locally controlled wikis with consensus-based decisions decided by the community. As such, though not an obligation, I do recommend your community propose policies for adoption, possibly on a future community portal, generally with wiki bureaucrat(s) being the ones to assess the results of community consensus-building decision-making, as that is customarily the role of a bureaucrat amongst other things. That way, you can propose community policies that guide the election of future administrators and bureaucrats, and removal of the same. As always, Steward assistance can be requested in cases where bureaucrats are inactive (such as this), though that doesn't seem likely to be a problem now. Additionally, should your wiki propose and adopt community policies governing removal of inactive bureaucrats, Stewards can, and ideally, should be requested to attend your wiki to assess the result of that discussion as ManageWiki defaults to requiring Stewards to remove that bit. Finally, Stewards are also available to perform certain actions, such as managewiki-restricted requests, election assessment request for local interwiki administrator, and requests requiring the bigdelete user right. Congratulations to the new bureaucrat and sysop, ThomasTheTrainFan2. Dmehus (talk) 20:23, 2 March 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thanks Doug, can I delete the local page or no? ThomasTheTrainFan2 (talk) 21:21, 2 March 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Up to you, I personally wouldn't and would instead recommend you move it to your Tankipedia: namespace without leaving a redirect. Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 22:23, 2 March 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Ok I will, why did you change Dmehus into Doug? ThomasTheTrainFan2 (talk) 23:10, 2 March 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Just prefer that name. Hope you don't mind. Dmehus (talk) 23:23, 2 March 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I will call you DougHuz And you got to this!ThomasTheTrainFan2 (talk) 00:17, 3 March 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Okay, that works, too. Dmehus (talk) 00:29, 3 March 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
