Your !vote at Requests for Stewardship[edit source]

Hi ThesenatorO5-2,

I noticed that you added a "strongest oppose" !vote to a closed stewardship removal discussion for @NDKilla:. That discussion was unsuccessful and did not proceed anyway. I'm not certain whether you were intending to add your !vote to that discussion, or to the only open requested for stewardship. Because of that, I cannot add it to the open request. If you intended to !vote in the open discussion, you may re-add it.

As well, please remember to sign your posts with ~~~~ so (a) we know who is !voting and (b) we know when they !voted.

Thanks,

Your RfC for local Oversight and CheckUser[edit source]

Hi ThesenatorO5-2,

I know you mean well with your RfC for a local Oversight and CheckUser; however, as a strong piece of good, wise advice, I would strongly recommend you tag that page with {{delete}} using parameter 1= with your rationale being, something to the effect of, "Author request; created by mistake," before users begin voting on that RfC. As @RhinosF1: and I have guided you in Stewards' noticeboard, there's a lot of discussion, both in private and in public, that would need to happen before we could even draft an RfC. It will not, and cannot, pass on the basis of a wiki vote, given the implications with respect to Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

As I've said at Stewards' noticeboard, if you have oversighting you wish on your wiki, e-mail the revisions, in a list, and your reason(s) to stewards(at)miraheze.org, and stewards will action it accordingly.

Cheers,

Final Warning[edit source]

This is your final warning, continuing to add new RfCs then immediately requesting them for deletion will result in a topic ban. Also continuing to be uncivil as you were on RhinosF1's talk page will result in a block. Zppix (Meta | CVT Member | talk to me) 05:39, 1 August 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Requests for Comment/Allow wiki bureaucrats to have SSH access to the forked server[edit source]

Hi ThesenatorO5-2,

Despite your final warning above by @Zppix:, you proposal is a good-faith idea, but it's not technically feasible for a couple reasons. One, all system files are maintained through GitHub, which any user can propose changes through pull requests, which system administrators then have the ability to approve and merge into the master file. So, wiki configuration files aren't modified directly on the server via SSH/FTP. Second, there is also the security issue with giving SSH access to any wiki bureaucrats upon request. Though stewards have full access to Special:ManageWiki and can manage virtually anything on all wikis in terms of permissions, as far as I'm aware, only system administrators have server access, and even then, there are different classes of system administrators such that their level of access and access to some or all servers is further defined. Your idea is just not practicable.

I would strongly urge you to curtail all RfC creation, given my initial cautionary note and your warning above by Zppix. I think, since your idea was made in good-faith, I'm hoping that it will not result in any hard blocks or sanctions. Part of your rushing to create RfCs, I think, stems from your idea that these are the only way to have a community discussion. So, I'd like to propose that, if some sort of restriction is imposed, you are first required to go through the Community noticeboard by initiating a discussion or, ideally, asking a question on whether an RfC is even possible for what you're proposing.

Cheers,

Rights-holders versus rights-holder's[edit source]

Hi ThesenatorO5-2,

I have had to revert, for a second time now, your good-faith correction of the word "rights-holder's" to "rights-holders" in one of my replies on Stewards' noticeboard. Plural possessive may be more grammatically correct here—I'd have to re-read my reply in its entirety; however, in this instance of this particular case, I really am referring to the singular rights-holder and not to rights-holders as a group. Thus, I want the singular possessive case.

Thank you,

Topic ban notice - RfCs[edit source]

Hello,
After a discussion with few administrators, I decided to topic ban you. Now you are not allowed to create RfCs so pages starting with Requests for Comment/. If you create such a page, you can be blocked first time for 1 day, the second time indefinitely. If you create such a page using a verified sockpuppet account, you can be blocked indefinitely without further notice. Thanks for understanding.--MrJaroslavik (talk) 13:22, 2 August 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Blocked[edit source]

You've been told about moving pages before. I can't topic ban you from everything. Once your block expires, please try and understand the community and policy. We're always on IRC and Discord and happy to answer what you ask.

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 2 weeks as a result of your disruptive edits. You are free to make constructive edits after the block has expired, but please note that vandalism (including page blanking or addition of random text), spam, deliberate misinformation, privacy violations, personal attacks, legal threats; and repeated, blatant violations of our policies will not be tolerated.

Hi ThesenatorO5-2,

Your creation of this RfC to add Oversight tools to Global Sysops was both unnecessary and malformed. Additionally, it is broadly in violation of, if not the letter, the spirit of your active topic ban. I am currently discussing with other administrators, but am inclined to block you for another week, unless you can convince me otherwise, as you don't seem to be hearing the point that has been expressed to you by several administrators.

Where do we go from here?

Cheers,

Partially Blocked[edit source]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week as a result of your disruptive edits.

Since you don't seem to be getting the point, after discussing with another administrator on Meta, I have decided to temporarily partially block you from Main namespace for a period of up to 1 week. In that time, an administrator will be creating an abuse filter that will prevent you from creating pages in Main namespace for the duration of your indefinite topic ban. If the abuse filter is created in less than one week, then your partial block will be removed.

Your user talk page will be left open, but do not blank or remove from this talk page any administrative record while outstanding sanctions exist.

Thanks,
Dmehus (talk) 01:25, 31 August 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Unblocked[edit source]

Hi ThesenatorO5-2,

With thanks to NDKilla, a topic ban enforcer has been created, so your partial block has been lifted.

Please govern yourself accordingly.

Thank you,

Blocked[edit source]

You have been blocked from editing Miraheze Meta indefinitely as a result of your disruptive edits. Please note that vandalism (including page blanking or addition of random text), spam, deliberate misinformation, privacy violations, personal attacks, legal threats; and repeated, blatant violations of our policies will not be tolerated.
Given the abuse log shows you violating your topic ban and you've just requested Oversight publicly, I think we've had enough of your time wasting. ~ RhinosF1 - (chat)· acc· c - (on) 14:09, 3 September 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Block appeal[edit source]

404 Error (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribs change block settingsunblockfilter log)

Request reason:

I did not read the policy about oversight before, and I will stop violating topic bans.

Denial reason:

It is inappropriate to be appealing your block this early. You have been given multiple chances to show that you are here to positively contribute, but you have not demonstrated that with your behavior. Please take a break from Meta, and appeal at a later time. Reception123 (talk) (C) 06:19, 5 September 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired.

Edit conflicted: Given you've had countless warnings and seem to deaf to them, I don't see why we should trust you now. My suggestion is you wait at least a good few weeks (3) or possibly a month and then we can consider reducing it to a partial block. ~ RhinosF1 - (chat)· acc· c - (on) 06:22, 5 September 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I have learnt from my block and I want to request a recreation (delete and recreate) of my wiki. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 404 Error (talkcontribs) 01:47, 14 September 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Denial reason:

Hi 404 Error (formerly known as ThesenatorO5-2), I've reviewed your appeal, but it (a) feels like this is too soon to appeal and (b) doesn't address the concerns that led to your being blocking. Having discussed this on Discord with the other administrators, @Reception123 and RhinosF1:, previously, it was honestly felt that you should wait at least thirty (30) days before appealing your sitewide block. I will have more advice to say in a separate note. Dmehus (talk) 02:01, 14 September 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired.

@404 Error:, Further to the above, I understand that it must be frustrating that you are locally blocked on Meta and, while I can appreciate that you were acting in good-faith in your posting that screenshot of a problematic Chinese language's highly problematic content pages, it did nonetheless require oversight. You may not have known, or may be accustomed to different procedures for requesting oversight on the Wikimedia wikis, but on Miraheze wikis, you should never request oversight or post material requiring oversight publicly. Instead, you should instead e-mail stewards(at)miraheze.org, linking to both the wiki in question and the specific revision permalinks requiring suppression.
Nevertheless, your appeal didn't really address, or satisfy the concerns, of the blocking administrator @RhinosF1: or, frankly, administrator(s), given MrJaroslavik and I were also involved topic banning you from creating RfCs related to local CheckUser or Oversight user rights on Miraheze and partially blocking you, respectively.
As you are very much good-faith, I am definitely keen on seeing you participate again on Meta, particularly as you have done good work here. Indeed, you were the first person to report these problematic Chinese language wikis. Your report was nowhere as detailed as @游魂:'s report, so, perhaps, that is why stewards didn't take any actions, or perhaps it was just missed. Nevertheless, I have personally lost track of the number of times you've requested local CheckUser and Oversight or the malformed RfCs you've created. Indeed, @NDKilla: and I even created an abuse filter tailor made to allow you to avoid a hard partial block on Meta. Unfortunately, your repeatedly triggering this filter suggests that you continue to be not hearing the points that have been expressed to you.
Thus, I would strongly recommend waiting until at least 3 October 2020 before reappealing. Note that apologies are not needed. What is needed for you to (a) address the core problem(s) that led to your being fully blocked on Meta and (b) demonstrate how you have learned from your mistakes. Where you've not fully learned from your mistakes, you would likely to do well to suggest some sort of alternative to a sitewide block that would help you with sticking to your topic ban or editing restriction, such as an indefinite hard partial namespace block on Meta on one or more namespaces (i.e., Main and/or User talk) where your behaviour has been most problematic. Dmehus (talk) 02:33, 14 September 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Dmehus: I just need to be able to post on the steward's noticeboard and request a wiki since that wiki was corrupt and needs deletion and recreation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 404 Error (talkcontribs) 02:54, 14 September 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@404 Error: What's the problem with your wiki(s), and which wiki(s) are having issues? If I'm understanding you correctly, this doesn't actually need any Meta participation or involvement by stewards. Typically, when wikis are requiring repair, system administrators handle this through Phabricator tasks. Thus, all you should need to do is sign in to your Phabricator account using your MediaWiki account on Meta. As far as I'm aware, your ability to use OAuth to authorize a Phabricator account is unaffected by any local blocks. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 03:05, 14 September 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Appeal for both block and ban[edit source]

An administrator reviewed 404 Error's unblock request and has accepted the request.

404 Error (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribs change block settingsunblockfilter log)

Request reason:

I have waited for a month and I think it is OK for me to be unblocked as I did get the point. I will also refrain from creating RfCs that are not necessary, therefore the ban can be reversed. If it was not reversed, I will stop creating RfCs. By the way, in Wikipedia, admins cannot enforce any kind of ban, which can only be enforced by community consensus or by arbitration or by Jimbo Wales. I do not know the policies in here relating to topic bans. Plus PLEASE delete scpwikimc.miraheze.org. This account will be only used for posting on Meta, I will create a role account User:Instance to deal with my wikis. I can only post this message logout. pls, delete/suppress the username of this revision.

Acceptance reason:

This is really your LAST chance and the next block will be permanent.MrJaroslavik (talk) 10:15, 9 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Unblocking administrator: Please check for active autoblocks on this user after accepting the unblock request.
