PC games wiki[edit source]

Looks cool, I'd be willing to help you on that wiki :) Bawitdaba (talk) 15:55, 1 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

This is great news as my career at Miraheze will continue. Szczypak2005 17:58, 1 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Might want to clarify the scope of your wiki, as I already have my own set of questions:
1. Will it be about PC and MS-DOS games, meaning classics like Oregon Trail and Reader Rabbit will have coverage? And, ofc, preincluded titles such as 3D Pinball Space Cadet.
2. Will there be articles on official computer software such as Notepad and Microsoft Word? Those are software but don't count as games
3. Will articles on PC game devs be allowed (including classic ones like MECC)? Bawitdaba (talk) 16:07, 1 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
1. Absolutely, I love retro games and I create a wiki with them in mind.
2. Unfortunately no, the wiki will focus only on games and nothing else.
3. I understand you mean game development yeah? There will be a development section allowed, but I don't think creating a game development page makes any sense.

For 3, no, I meant articles on companies who created the games. Bawitdaba (talk) 16:26, 1 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Companies? Don't get me wrong, the categories of games produced by a specific company will be allowed, but by assuming a wiki, I only mean games, so I don't think the wiki will focus on game developers. Szczypak2005 18:29, 1 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
So no articles on content within the games either (e.g. no article on Luigi, who stars in all versions of Mario is Missing!, including PC versions)? Bawitdaba (talk) 22:17, 1 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
There may be mentions in the game article, I did not say that reporting would be totally prohibited. Szczypak2005 9:25, 2 October 2022 (UTC)

Ok so looks like your wiki has been approved. I made an article on the Reader Rabbit character & MECC (Oregon Trail devs) if that's okay with you (ofc, it is your wiki, so feel free to delete them if this isn't what you had in mind -- they're big stubs in any case). Content Policy warning[edit source]

Szczypak64,

Recently, I was alerted to the fact that your private wiki was a reception wiki. You know well those are prohibited on Miraheze, clearly depicted by the fact your front page rules stated that people can't report your wiki to Stewards. Additionally, you openly allowed underage minors to edit your wiki, in violation of GDPR. As such, your wiki has been deleted.

Due to the nature of your overt defiance of policy, you are hereby restricted indefinitely from requesting wikis without first notifying a Steward of the intended topic and having them sign off on it first. Violations to this restriction will lead to local blocks or locks. Please heed to this warning. Agent Isai Talk to me! 10:01, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Well, maybe my wiki on this farm was deleted, but.... IT DOESN'T MEAN IT'S OVER YET!!!! I found another wiki farm (not ShoutWiki, Editthis or sth) and I won't say a name of that farm. Szczypak64 2.0 (talk) 13:45, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Also, you can globally lock this account, I'll probably never come back here. Szczypak64 2.0 (talk) 13:47, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thank god you responded, despite being extremely late! I reported it back in Summer of this year. I get it that you guys were busy, and in fact, I'm complaining about you being late. CJWorldGame32125 (talk) 14:47, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Agent and I have departed this platform for other services, we only retain rights (myself solely on Discord) as a courtesy for handling exceptional emergencies, like ToU violations that risk legal action. Ideally this would have been handled before now by an active MH steward, but that steward is also the primary tech lead and their time is already spread thin with SRE duties...

Why aren’t reception wikis allowed? Other reception wikis like horrible music wiki, amazing YouTubers, the character wikis, and more are on miraheze. RIPKobe24 (talk) 19:39, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Creating new reception wikis was banned by this community RfC, which is helpful reading for context. Wikis that existed before the RfC closed were allowed to remain provided they could rein in the more problematic behavior, but were understood to lose that protection and would be ineligible to reopen once they closed. The ones you list existed prior to the ban.

Only 6 months.... you know it now takes WAY too long? Szczypak64 2.0 (talk) 20:16, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Why did we do that rfc? RIPKobe24 (talk) 20:21, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
