RE: MobileDetect

Hello! You can use MobileDetect to hide certain elements on desktop or mobile by using the tags provided by the extension.

For example, if you'd like to show certain content on desktop only you could do the following:

<nomobile>This content will only show on desktop mode and will be hidden on any mobile device.</nomobile>

Similarly, if you'd like to show content on mobile only you could do this:

<mobileonly>This content will only show when a user is viewing the page on a mobile device.</mobileonly>

Your edits

Hi, Just a few things I've noticed.

A) no one is expected to have a user page or give any information about them on wiki. Most people have probably only used meta to request a wiki and will probably never visit meta again.

B) Please don't edit other users user page. Please let them know so they can fix it themselves as this is seen as a personal area.

C) Please try to make as much of your changes as you can in one edit as multiple small edits can flood Recent Changes and our other feeds as well the fact every edit has to be individually, manually patroled. ~ RhinosF1 - _(chat) ^{· CA · contribs · Rights} - on) 14:46, 4 September 2019 (UTC)

Good advice, times three! Typical Miraheze users request their own wiki and exercise their creativity there. PS--The way you "make...changes...in one edit" is to use the button labeled Show preview. Potential copyright violations on Bengali Gyaanipedia

Hi Shaunak,

Following this complaint to Stewards regarding potential copyright violations on your Bengali Gyaanipedia wiki. Specifically, a large number of pages related to Banglapedia. Having examined the copyright notice for the online electronic resource, it's clear that this is copyrighted content which cannot remain hosted on Miraheze. Unless you can provide verifiable and authoritative proof no later than 20 June 2021 that you have obtained a license to reuse the content, with or without attribution and definitely with the right to modify/adapt it under a CreativeCommons BY-SA 4.0 license, I will be putting together a Phabricator task for Site Reliability Engineering to delete the problematic pages.

This appears to have been  done locally. As an FYI for the future on related wikis where you're a local contributor, if local bureaucrats are not recently active or have not otherwise attended to a permissions request after a reasonable period of time (generally speaking, at least a week), you can request steward assistance in their stead at stewards' noticeboard.
