What happened?[edit source]
What "unresolvable disagreements" did you have with the operation of Miraheze? Money12123 (contribs | CentralAuth) 23:28, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
- That information is only known by Raidarr and Owen, the other involved party in the events that led to Raidarr's resignation and retirement. However, earlier today Owen had assigned himself checkuser and suppressor rights for "auditing use of permissions" and left Raidarr a talk page message regarding an important email; sometime after that, Raidarr removed all advanced user rights from every wiki in which he held them before removing his local Steward group and making the log summary you're inquiring about. I assume it was the email or maybe a resulting conversation that caused Raidarr to resign; however, this is just speculation. In any case, Raidarr is unlikely to respond this thread; you may get an answer from Owen, but I doubt that he will give a response about the situation publicly. You could email Owen about it via Special:EmailUser if you have a verified email address attached to your account. Tali64³ (talk) 03:35, 5 June 2023 (UTC)
- Owen would not comment even privately. Speculation does not help here and it would be appreciated if none is made as this is needless peanut gallery commentary. Agent Isai Talk to me! 03:41, 5 June 2023 (UTC)
- For the record, Owen has indeed commented on this; actually, he's stated that Raidarr was put under several T&S restrictions: to refrain from using CheckUser and Oversight, to complete a data protection training program, and not to interact with or participate in discussions about a user that has since been community banned. Raidarr refused to accept these restrictions, which is what led to his resignation and eventual T&S ban. That T&S ban has resulted in several volunteer resignations in the past few days, which has led to talks of Miraheze falling apart. I will not be a part of the resignations; from now on, my goal will be to help fix the Miraheze system so that this doesn't happen again. Tali64³ (talk) 18:52, 8 June 2023 (UTC)
- If that is indeed the case and was not said privately or in a non-IRC relayed and logged channel, then it would be helpful for you to provide a permanent link to the Discord conversation. Otherwise, I don't think it's helpful to paraphrase or summarize publicly comments Owen may or may not have made, if I'm being completely honest. I think Owen is perfectly capable for speaking for himself publicly on these matters, should he choose to do so. Dmehus (talk) 01:30, 9 June 2023 (UTC)
- There is no way to permanently link to a Discord conversation as messages can be deleted at will. I would support Tali's claims here though, having been part of the conversation in question. I would disagree that it's unhelpful though, as the question has been asked on this talk page. Everything said above was the case, those restrictions were implemented and Raidarr refused to adhere to two of the three conditions. Hope this helps. - Raidarr only broke one of the three conditions. Not two. Universal Omega (talk) 02:36, 9 June 2023 (UTC)
- While messages can be deleted, yes, you can, absolutely, link to the Discord conversation question. Mind linking to that? Dmehus (talk) 02:38, 9 June 2023 (UTC)
