Hello, Owen! Would you please publish or email me the address to which to contribute by bank check? Spıke (talk) 23:11 5-Jun-2020

Hi, I've sent you an email. Owen (talk) 12:29, 8 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I'm thinking the same. DMBFFF (talk) 02:13, 23 December 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@DMBFFF: Are you wanting to make a donation to Miraheze Limited via cheque? If so, I can refer you to Miraheze's official mailing address. Dmehus (talk) 02:20, 23 December 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yep. Cheque, MO, maybe even cash (I trust you guys; and I'll take the risk with the postal systems: I luvs my privacy—I'll include an email and note attesting that I'm DMBFFF so it can be posted). Let's say Cdn $80 (about US$62) for the 2021. DMBFFF (talk) 20:21, 23 December 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@DMBFFF: Wow,  thank you very much for your generosity. I would think @Owen: would probably want cheques to be mailed to Miraheze Limited's registered corporate address, 255 Gateford Road, Worksop, England, United Kingdom S81 7BB. Personally, I would not recommend sending cash in the mail, though, unless it's sent via trackable and insured courier/international registered mail, though. Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 20:58, 23 December 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@DMBFFF: If sending a cheque or money order, I should add that @Owen: said to make it payable to Owen Reece Baines, as he has to deposit it personally, then transfer the funds over to the business account (Tide) as the business account is with a fintech payments company and doesn't accept cheques. Dmehus (talk) 06:50, 24 December 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
So noted. :) DMBFFF (talk) 07:27, 24 December 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I have sent some money: hope you got/get it.   :)   DMBFFF (talk) 02:11, 8 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hey, just to confirm this has been received and will be updated in the next run when finances get updated :) Owen (talk) 21:00, 14 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Regarding the format on Finance[edit source]

Hi, there. I'm thinking of moving the list on Finance to a separate page, called Finance/List. This way you can update the list any time in its own page, without someone having to remark the page for translation every time the already untranslated list gets updated. Do you have any objections to this arrangement? --Sabelöga (talk) 15:08, 23 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Sabelöga: I'd  Support this, and suspect @Owen: won't mind either. When it comes time for him to do his monthly finance update next month, we can easily advise him to update Finance/List, rather than Finance. This way, Finance/List does not need to be prepared and remarked for translation each month. (talk page stalker) Dmehus (talk) 15:14, 23 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I don't have any objections to this :) Owen (talk) 15:15, 23 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I'll get on to it then :) --Sabelöga (talk) 15:16, 23 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Dmehus: A filter got activated when adding the transcluded page to Finance. Could you do that for me? --Sabelöga (talk) 15:20, 23 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Sabelöga: Ah, yes, of course. That's our special Board-protected pages abuse filter that exempts Owen from editing them. Since Finance no longer contains financial data directly, I've modified the abuse filter to protect Finance/List instead, and also  completed this request for you. Dmehus (talk) 16:02, 23 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Dmehus: Excellent, thank you! Sabelöga (talk) 16:05, 23 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Setting up monthly standing order[edit source]

Hi Owen

ARK CLS Limited (my UK company) has had a Miraheze private wiki page (https://pwiki.arkcls.com) for some time now and very happy with it. Up until now we haven't made a donation, but we would like to change that. I see that Miraheze is now set up as a limited company in the UK. Therefore we want to donate regularly to what you guys are doing. For us the best way would be via Monthly Standing Order direct to your Miraheze UK bank account, that way you will receive the 100% of our donation. Perhaps you can contact me direct. Thanks.

Best regards

Adrian Bennetton Managing director for ARK CLS Ltd.

Good afternoon, apologies for the delay in replying to this. If you wish to make a payment directly into our accounts (via a standing order), the details for the account you can send these two are:
  • Account Name: Miraheze Limited
  • Sort Code: 23-69-72
  • Account Number: 22027639
If you require additional information, please let me know. Otherwise, thank you for your interest in donating to us regularly! Owen (talk) 11:26, 2 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thanks for the information. I've only just noticed your reply today. I will go and set up a standing order for £10.00 monthly starting around middle of May 2021. Adrian Bennetal (talk) 13:58, 26 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hi Owen
I've noticed on your 2022 finance page that ARK CLS's regular £10 monthly donations to Miraheze haven't appeared for June 2022 and July 2022. I've check our bank and these payments were made. Perhaps you can recheck the bank your end. We want to continue to support in our small way the good work that Miraheze is doing.
Adrian Bennetal (talk) 12:17, 4 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hey, sorry this is my fault - the payments go into one account of us and since most of our donations were through PayPal/GoFundMe/GitHub, I didn't check this account when I last updated it all. As these are very regular donations, this should have clocked on my mind - I'll get these back dated in the next update - apologies! :) Owen (talk) 21:00, 14 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
It not a fault, But probably sounds like. Nick678 (talk) 06:41, 25 September 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi Owen![edit source]

Hey Owen. I have been trying to find a time you are online on Libera but it seems like we are never online at the same time. Would you mind joining on Libera so I don't have to use the relay? Would appreciate it. Thanks. Naleksuh (talk) 06:11, 16 December 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I donated on 27/6 - please add my name[edit source]

I donated 18€ via Paypal, please add my name, thanks. Gerdami (talk) 07:44, 11 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Gerdami: Hi, it have already been recorded in Finance, according to the time and amount you provided. Or do you want to have your username linked to the donation? I am not clear if this is possible though. Cheers, Matttest (talk | contribs) 08:12, 11 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hi, please note that Finance does not link usernames except in exceptional circumstances. Thank you! Thanks - BrandonWM (talkcontribsglobalrights) 08:21, 11 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Please diregard what BrandonWM has said regarding not linking usernames, that is not true. If by adding your name you indeed mean your username I'm sure Owen will get to it. Reception123 (talk) (C) 13:50, 11 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Reception123: I think there might’ve been some confusion on our ends. When I said link username, I was referring to putting the username in the Finance sheet instead of their real name. Thanks - BrandonWM (talkcontribsglobalrights) 14:04, 11 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
That's also what I meant. There's no issue with replacing a real name with a username, users can choose how they wish to be displayed. The Finance page demonstrates that. Reception123 (talk) (C) 14:29, 11 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hi Gerdami, it appears your donation was missed when I was mass-adding them. I have found the relevant reference and will update the finance page shortly giving you full credit. Thank you for donating and apologies that this was missed on this occasion. Owen (talk) 18:54, 16 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Could you add a $100/mo level on GitHub?[edit source]

I'd like to set up a recurring thing through there, if I can. MikeMol (talk) 16:01, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@MikeMol: Hi, it's also possible to select a custom recurring tier and add whichever sum you'd like. Though if it's easier for you we can add a tier for sure. Thank you very much for offering to donate such a generous amount per month, we appreciate it very much and it will really help us! Reception123 (talk) (C) 18:30, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Here is a screenshot of how you'd do a custom tier:

Wiki request requiring your attention[edit source]

I put this wiki request on hold because its topic was about reverse engineering, the legal status of which is unclear in the UK. Another wiki creator has reviewed it and suggested to contact you for your input. Should the aforementioned request be approved or declined, given any knowledge you may have about the subject matter? Question about this diff[edit source]

Hi Owen,

With regard to the above-quoted diff, my understanding of Board/NDAs is that the page was intended to provide the community with a list of Miraheze community members who have signed non-disclosure agreements with Miraheze Limited, not necessarily a listing of only current NDAs that are on file. While an NDA is a prerequisite for certain community and technical team roles requiring restricted, elevated permissions, in practical terms, users subject to SRE ToU bans and/or Trust and Safety full service bans would be unable request any permissions on any current or potential new user account while those remain in place. Given that one SRE ToU ban has been in place for nearly two years now, that's why I assumed it was just a records schedule of the Board. If my understanding is incorrect and it is more than that, why remove them now? As well, have the NDAs in question now been revoked? If so what is Miraheze Limited's records retention period for non-disclosure agreements that are revoked, marked as historical/archival, or otherwise non-current?

Cheers,
Dmehus (talk) 14:49, 7 June 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hey, the list is intended to be an accurate list of who holds an NDA that is valid or is in a position to utilise the NDA. This was the first sanction placed by T&S on a user with an NDA which is why the other one was also removed at the same time as that was an oversight. The agreements currently remain in place and there is no intention currently to invalidate them as legal documents. Retention is indefinitely while it is live and 6 years from the date the agreement is withdrawn from by either party inline with the Limitation Act 1980. Owen (talk) 15:10, 7 June 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Ah, okay, thanks, fair enough. That's helpful. I wasn't aware of the Limitation Act 1980. That is nice that UK law actually provides for reasonable maximum data retention periods. That is my main gripe with the Privacy Act in Canada; it does not provide for any actual maximum data retention period, other than in certain regulated industries (but that's separate legislation, so not really relevant). It only states companies may hold the data as long as reasonably necessary, so persons only recourse is via the Canadian court system (which is expensive) if they feel that retention is not reasonable. Request to remove my name in the Miraheze Finance List[edit source]

I wish to remove my name in the Miraheze Finance List dated 2023-04-09 and amounting +£0.01. I would like to remove my name its becuase for my privacy and to prevent further doxxings. Thank you. DRPSPHCA (talk) 06:20, 16 June 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Your resignation[edit source]

I am saddened by your departure from the Miraheze/Wikitide project, but I also understand where you're coming from. I want to thank you for standing by the project during the difficult times since June 2023 and facilitating its transition for the benefit of the thousands of hosted wikis. I wish you all the best. – Jph2 (talk) 00:57, 20 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
