Hello, @Dmehus:! You left a message on my wiki creation request. I would very much appreciate it if you can help me out with the two things you mentioned, which would be very helpful for our community. --Nyl (talk) 08:28, 25 January 2021 (UTC)
- Nyl Apologies for the delayed reply. Yes, I recall making that comment in your most recently approved wiki request. One wiki is to be another language version of your English language wiki, correct? Assuming that's the case, typically what works best is for you to specify a main interwiki prefix that will be added to both wikis' interwiki tables, then we'll typically add an interlanguage prefix for the other language wiki on each wiki. All that's left for you to decide is whether the interwiki and/or interlanguage prefixes will require either of the (a) forward or (b) transclude flags. Forward flag essentially just tells computers and search engine indexing robots whether to treat interwiki links for the given prefix as an external link that should be followed or to return a bad title error. Transclude is as it suggests, so if you'd need to transclude content from one wiki onto the other wiki with scary transclusion, then that's what that would be used for. Hope that helps. - Okay, so, thanks for the explanation. First, it would be best to use "gmc" as our interwiki prefix. Second, I believe transclusion might be the best for us. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this would allow us to simply take our templates (and pages, probably) from our main wiki, right? If that's the case then I would want us to go for transclusion so we no longer have to export pages and templates (Which I assume is how it works). Nyl (talk) 10:17, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
