Add topicMy opinion on the wiki request #27792[edit source]
(the request in question, while I'm not a wiki creator or steward I think there's no problem with giving my opinion. Excuse my backseat moderating.)
First, the request contains a lot of text unrelated to the wiki. We can trim it down to figure out what kind of wiki they're requesting. The parts in red are the ones I consider unrelated, the parts in green are the ones relevant:
Hello. I'm Switzerland. I want you to create a wiki project for me - CountryPyramids Wiki This wiki will be about states, major cities, ordinary cities and so on. The wiki will have its own canons and non-canons, its own rules and administrators. I love Meta, you created one wiki for me. I love you very much and thank you. However, I will be very glad if you accept this request. And also, can you please answer quickly? Thank you in advance. While. And I also forgot that this wiki, which I ask for, can contact the Polandball wiki a little. However, I will repeat once again that my wiki will have its own rules, canons, non-canons, wiki friends and wiki enemies.
There's obviously a language barrier at play here, however, the following can be reasonably assumed about this request:
- The wiki will cover various places in the world
The following I'm not so sure about:
- The wiki will have its own canons and non-canons. This kinda makes me think this wiki is an alternative history wiki, with the "canons" being events that happened in the real world, and the "non-canons" being alternative history events.
- This wiki (...) can contact the Polandball wiki a little. This presumably comes in response to Agent Isai's comment ("Is this related to "Countryballs"?"). I don't know what the *ball wikis are about, but I suppose they're either alternative history wikis or wikis memeing the country they're about, for example, being about exaggerated stereotypes of those countries. From this line, I assume the requester was inspired by the Polandball wikis to request this wiki. Given that it's unlikely to be content forks of an existing wiki, as they seem to be different in scope, there would presumably be no problems in that front.
In any case, this request is clearly unclear and should be Rejected. Some questions need to be asked to the requester:
- Is this an alternative history wiki? Or is this a wiki about cities and events in those cities in the real world?
- Will the wiki be mainly about living people? (if the wiki is about real cities, it's important to know if citizens of those cities are in the scope of the wiki)
- Is this a Polandball-inspired wiki? Will the wiki be a fork of Polandball?
However, I doubt the requester will be able to give satisfactory answers due to the language barrier. OrangeStar (talk) 18:36, 23 November 2022 (UTC)
- The feedback is appreciated, thanks. There was no consensus on what to do with this request among the Wiki Creator group, I took the action to move it as purely an administrative step. :)
- That said, great feedback, I'll take the initiative to see if we can get some closure on this request. --NotAracham (talk • contribs • global) 18:54, 23 November 2022 (UTC)
- No problem, glad to help. To be honest, I think the request will be rejected no matter what because of the barrier. I think it highlights the importance of having a lot of wiki creators that speak different languages. OrangeStar (talk) 19:06, 23 November 2022 (UTC)
- Absolutely, it's a felt pain for sure, a role we always need more of in both different timezones and languages of expertise. --NotAracham (talk • contribs • global) 19:31, 23 November 2022 (UTC)

Can you see now I'm update https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/Special:RequestWikiQueue/28157
Gani (talk) 08:05, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Gani, thank you for updating the original request. However, your description is still a single sentence and still doesn't fully answer what kinds of content and the topic of the content you plan to include...
- Is it an organizational wiki for your university?
- Is it intended to host class syllabi and/or lecture information?
- Is it a personal wiki (which can be marked as private) to organize personal notes from classes?
- A few more specifics on the type of content you plan to add would help get us to an approval. --NotAracham (talk • contribs • global) 08:12, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
- Yes this is an organizational wiki for my university Gani (talk) 08:21, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for the additional context, approved. Enjoy your new wiki. --NotAracham (talk • contribs • global) 08:25, 27 November 2022 (UTC)

Technical issue with request #29394[edit source]
Thank you for reviewing my request; however, visiting the wiki gives a Wiki not found error; using Special:WikiDiscover shows a wiki created today under the category Fantasy w/ "No Sitename Set." and linking to miraheze.org that I assume should be the wiki I requested - was this an error on my part (i.e. I need to edit/resubmit the request) or is this just a normal part of the creation process? I can't find any documentation suggesting the latter. Thank you. Vanali (talk) 04:56, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
- This seems like it might be a side-effect of the upgrade done earlier today. I'll escalate this, thanks for letting me know! --NotAracham (talk • contribs • global) 04:59, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
- Looks to be fixed, thanks! Vanali (talk) 14:20, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
- Glad to hear it! Seems like our jobs that update navigation records got a *little* overwhelmed with a backlog following the major upgrade to MediaWiki 1.39. Do let us know if anything else looks off!

Wiki wipe?[edit source]
i would like this wiki to be turned back to its original state when it was created if possible :D https://wawaforthewin.miraheze.org/wiki/Wawapedia River2380 is halal (talk) 05:13, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
- I don't have the ability to do that, which is why I moved your post over to the stewards' page so someone who is empowered to do so can assist. You can also file a request via Phabricator for a reset if you're not getting traction there.

i would like Wawapedia to be closed.[edit source]
i dont think i have energy for this topic anymore River2380 is halal (talk) 14:11, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
- NotAracham isn't a Steward and as such isn't able to close wikis. Requests such as this would be better suited for SN but in this case wawapediawiki is already closed. Reception123 (talk) (C) 14:23, 30 January 2023 (UTC)

Good luck for the Global Sysop! | |
@NotAracham I am delighted to win your nomination for Global Administrator at Requests for global rights! I wish you success and happiness in your new role. Good luck to new users like us :) Again, I wish good luck on behalf of Miraheze 😊. Hey Türkiye Message? 11:58, 25 February 2023 (UTC) |
Comments[edit source]
Hello NotAracham. The comments section of a discussion is not normally numbered. These are normally used with ordered requests and things such as support/oppose, where each !vote is a number, and the bottom-most number is the total number (same reason stricken votes are indented). Naleksuh (talk) 05:17, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for taking the time to reach out, The reason I've been doing this is largely for accessibility/readability's sake, it's difficult to follow some of the longer-winding debates if there isn't some use of ordered or unordered lists.
- Would unordered (non-numbered) lists fall within common formatting best practice, or is there another alternative that could be utilized to fulfill the same purpose? Thanks. --NotAracham (talk • contribs • global) 16:59, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
- What makes them harder to follow? Why not just use colons like everywhere else? Naleksuh (talk) 17:20, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
Q:How well do you know Discord?[edit source]
Yesterday I tried to request a Interwiki-Link on Discord. I tried three times "/auth" for validating me but don't got a Direct Message with Link or so. Do you have any idea what might going wrong? I allowed to get Messages and switched filtering off. The request was for wde and now handled/done by you cause I did it on Community Board afterwards. -- Peter Littmann (talk) 03:18, 27 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hmmm, that's odd, you should have gotten at least some notification from the bot on your attempts. One thing that I sometimes need to do is as I start to type the /auth command, it'll show an auto-complete option for the bot command. If I tap/click that auto-complete, the message when sent will actually work as a bot command instead of normal text.
- Beyond that, the bot should let you know if there's some other condition that hasn't been met, like having direct messages disabled. --NotAracham (talk • contribs • global) 15:11, 27 May 2023 (UTC)
Physical Anthropology Wiki[edit source]
why can't Miraheze host the physical anthropology wiki? Hgh1985 (talk) 05:47, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
- The topic was deemed too high-risk given history/prior controversy on other sites for wikis of this topic. Your wiki's administrative team has been given their options to collect data for migration to another hosting service. --NotAracham (talk • contribs • global) 07:07, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
Well this is embarrassing[edit source]
Because I was too hasty, I sent a message on Agent Isai's talk page unaware that they aren't part of miraheze, so that was a waste of time. I'll sum up what I put there, since I do need help:
I manage the Grim Quest and Grim Tides Wiki's and need to talk to a steward about them, preferrably through discord as I have horrible internet this time of year and can hardly get web pages to even load, but discord works fine enough.
I tried and couldnt join the miraheze discord for some reason. But if you could reach out i'd appreciate it greatly. My discord is theaquanix and I'm hoping I can secure the future of our wiki's going forward. TheAquanix (talk) 14:20, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
- Please see my response on Agent Isai's talk page. Thank you for choosing Miraheze! BrandonWM (talk • contributions • global • rights) 14:48, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
- Yep, per Brandon's note, please try the invite link at https://miraheze.org/discord, both Agent and myself are once again part of the Miraheze project and also Stewards, despite conflicting reports. --NotAracham (talk • contribs • global) 17:52, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
Error after reopening[edit source]
Hi, thanks for replying reopening request of turkishsport. After reopening, i neighter can call old versions nor create new versions of pages. Edit page header says "The revision #0 of the page named "Anasayfa" does not exist. This is usually caused by following an outdated history link to a page that has been deleted. Details can be found in the deletion log." When i try to continue, it gives "Edit conflict" error. Can you suggest a solution? Sayginer (talk) 08:55, 6 February 2024 (UTC)
- Please file a ticket at https://issue-tracker.miraheze.org, this is a matter for our technical teams to look into. Instructions on how to log in and create tickets can be found here. --NotAracham (talk • contribs • global) 19:50, 7 February 2024 (UTC)
Who is this user a sockpuppet of? Money12123 (contribs | CentralAuth) 03:02, 12 March 2024 (UTC)
- Hello? Money12123 (contribs | CentralAuth) 20:38, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
- You can check via Special:CentralAuth and quite frankly, it's not really any of your business. BrandonWM (talk • contributions • global • rights) 23:05, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
- To answer more specifically, check https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/Steward_requests/Archive_38 and the Checkuser SR page, this is a prolific LTA/MAA vandal that targets reception wikis and that's about there is to be said on the matter. --NotAracham (talk • contribs • global) 01:53, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
- @BrandonWM: It was my business because I blocked theSunz42 on LCW suspecting they were a sockpuppet of another user who I mistakenly thought had made the same comment as them after it was removed by someone else, and I then noticed that theSunz42 was globally locked as a sockpuppet but did not know who it was and whether or not it was the user I had falsely suspected was the master. About request[edit source]
The Wiki creator is a bad understand able. And When he said stop, I'm stoped request. I not say all about the ALL SCIENCE WIKI but he understand to it. Gongxiang01 (talk) 03:13, 18 March 2024 (UTC)
Ban across Wikitide[edit source]
I have no clue how to contact you outside of this, but I was banned for vandalizing a page named O9Aism on Polcompball Anarchy Wiki, which is hosted on Miraheze. The start of my block was on the 31st of January, and the expiration would be January of next year. The IP I am banned from is 161.51.248.11, which is a school address. I understand what I did was wrong, and I understand how a page describing the beliefs of a satanic neo-Nazi cult that supports a CSAM ring being vandalized is still the wrong way of going about things- even if I disagree with its existence. I’d really like a response or some form of contact so we can resolve this issue.
Thank you,
Meadowsin Meadowsine (talk) 13:39, 19 March 2024 (UTC)
- This is going to be a question for local admins and bureaucrats on the wiki in question - Stewards generally do not involve themselves in local affairs when it comes to blocks and bans. BrandonWM (talk • contributions • global • rights) 14:39, 19 March 2024 (UTC)
- @BrandonWM, this is in reference to a global block I believe, which is not in local purview.
- The global block in question only impacts anonymous users. Provided you already have an account, there is no other block in place that should prevent logins/contributions. If others need to create accounts but are having issues, they may email cvt[@]miraheze.org to have an account created on their behalf. If you feel there's more that needs to be done here, please email that alias for the larger team to review and take action.

I Some How Can't Create and Edit Pages on My Wiki...[edit source]
I am the creator of the ConnerFong Wiki (connerfong.miraheze.org) and somehow I can't create or edit my pages. I need help to edit and create again on my wiki. CRAJ (talk) 22:41, 29 March 2024 (UTC)
Why are you closing Boy Shoe Loss Wiki?[edit source]
Question says it all. - DeltaRuneFan2001 (talk) 17:57, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
- It was determined that the wiki in question was part of a larger network of foot fetish/fetish-adjacent image repository wikis, which conflict with a recent addition to our content policy that does not allow for exemption of pre-existing wikis in violation.
Consistent with Miraheze not being a file sharing service, Miraheze wikis should not become repositories of media intended for sexual gratification. However, this is not a ban on the discussion of sex or sexuality within a broader academic, literary, cultural, or biological context, nor is it a ban on a wiki hosting a non-excessive number of files depicting sex or the human body in fulfillment of an educational objective.
- If you would like to appeal this decision, please reach out to stewards[at]miraheze.org -- NotAracham (talk • contribs • global) 18:03, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
Clarification on removal of autopatrolled user right[edit source]
Explain why I was removed from the autopatrolled user group? I had just requested this user right yesterday and it was accepted. I still have this user right on Nintendo Wiki. Silicona (talk) 18:59, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
- Please check your talk page for additional context, you've launched both another RfC against talk-page guidance and delivered an improper warning to another user that should only be delivered by volunteers with enforcement authority. While I appreciate that the right was very recently granted, the history of disruptive actions + further disruptive actions post-grant led to the decision to remove. -- NotAracham (talk • contribs • global) 19:21, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
