Autopatrolled[edit source]

Hello, I have added the auto-patrolled flag to your account. This indicates you are trusted and your edits no longer need to be manually checked. It also, optionally, gives you the ability to mark other peoples edits as 'patrolled'. Happy editing, ~ RhinosF1 - (chat)· acc· c - (on) 09:32, 29 October 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The Mirror[edit source]

The problem is not that the blue box doesn't have a margin, but that the sidebar or news page does not.

Thanks for visiting The Mirror, and for your comment on the formatting! What happens is that {{News}} plants a list of recent news articles. But then MH:TheMirror:MediaWiki:Common.js moves the entire list out to the website sidebar. I see that it first calls for a right margin of 0; I must have had a reason for that! If I'm wrong, that's the place to make the change. I'll look into this from my phone, as my only PC that has access to The Mirror has standing orders not to display the sidebar at all.

My more recent "news" writing is at the rebirth of classic Uncyclopedia at

Happy to meet another person who does not dot her i's! Spıke (talk) 09:17 30-Jun-2020

This is how I see your wiki.
Hi Spike, thank you for your answer. Not quite sure what does not dot her i's means, that I use a capital letter for I? Lily (Lilypond Wiki talk and I will listen) 11:44, 30 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Yes, exactly. What I explain, above, is that there is JavaScript code on TheMirror that moves the box from where you see it to where I see it. You might be running with JavaScript disabled, or over a very slow connection. I don't really care that it has no right margin, because I don't intend that it remain there! However, I may have given it a right margin, and this is why the JavaScript cancels it; then later I removed the right margin as unnecessary.

About the undotted i's, I am mistaken; I was viewing your signature on a PC with no dots on its i's. A delusion of self-reference on my part.

I moved your post from my talk page to yours to unify the discussion. On my talk page, you had a <DIV> to force your remarks to a fixed width. This is unnecessary, because [ |thumb|left| ] makes text "float" around it to the right. Spıke (talk) 12:40 30-Jun-2020

PS—I see that {{News}} does specify a right margin of 0.5em. I presume the JavaScript is taking effect, cancelling the right margin, but failing to relocate the box! This is a much harder problem to solve. Spıke (talk) 12:48 30-Jun-2020

Interesting debate. I tried your page with serveral browsers, they are all looking the same. I have never heard of undotted i's until now ;-) Greetings from Austria Lily (Lilypond Wiki talk and I will listen) 14:05, 30 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Back to you from New Hampshire. Maybe we have our Preferences set differently at The Mirror. And maybe I have coded something that no one else can see?! Spıke (talk) 14:27 30-Jun-2020

Maybe. I prefer Vector, and you should not use a different skin on my wiki (or you will be surprised ;-) ). Lily (Lilypond Wiki talk and I will listen) 17:15, 30 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

You are right, a different skin might change a lot of things. I'm using Modern right now. I'll play with this, but am more likely to recommend a specific skin "for best results" than to change the code until it works with every skin. Spıke (talk) 20:29 30-Jun-2020

You are right, Modern looks fine. Lily (Lilypond Wiki talk and I will listen) 04:13, 1 July 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

A note about Extension:Score[edit source]

I just wanted to make it clear that we haven't forgotten about your wiki and score. We are currently still under advice to leave the extension disabled and unfortunately we don't have much hope that it's going to be restored anytime soon. I have spoken to our own security advisor to see what our best next steps are but if there's anyway we can help you while Score is disabled, please let us know.

Interested in running for global interwiki administrator?[edit source]

Hi Lily,

While you wait for a steward to respond to your request for local interwiki administrator on your wikis, I did take a look at your global contributions in CentralAuth. Together with both your global contributions and activity on community noticeboard, both in requesting assistance from the community and responding to community members' requests, your multilingual nature, and your technical competency level, I actually think you'd be an ideal global interwiki administrator. You can still be a local interwiki administrator (as Universal Omega is on one of his wikis), but this would just enable you to respond to interwiki link requests on any wikis (except Meta, mainly for technical reasons). Let me know if interested, and I'd be happy to nominate you for this role and/or wiki creator, if you're interested.

Dmehus (talk) 11:42, 21 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Dmehus: thank you very much for your trust. Before I make my decision I would like to know how much time do you expect me to spend on this job. I could spend 2-3 hours a week, if this is enough I am happy to accept your offer Lily (Lilypond Wiki · talk and I will listen · my little garden ) 16:14, 21 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Lily: For global interwiki administrator, there's no real minimum time commitment required as @Cocopuff2018: has correctly pointed out. Indeed, currently, there's not even an inactivity clause, but, as part of a planned omnibus interwiki administration reform RfC, I would like to implement a 12 month inactivity clause whereby the user has made no log actions or edits on Meta in 12 months, they may have the rights procedurally removed by a steward. As far as wiki creator goes, there's no hard activity requirement, but as a general guideline, I like to encourage being able to review 3-5 wiki requests per week. Each one only takes about five minutes, so if you volunteered 2-3 hours per week, that would be more than adequate and much appreciated. Dmehus (talk) 16:26, 21 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Just FYI when you're a wiki creator there is not a certain amount of time required as long as you attend your duties every once in a while you won't have to worry about being demoted for being inactive. --Cocopuff2018 (talk) 16:22, 21 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Cocopuff2018: @Dmehus: Ok then, bring it on Lily (Lilypond Wiki · talk and I will listen · my little garden ) 17:41, 21 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Lily: Just to be clear, do you want me to nominate you for both positions, or just global interwiki administrator? To be clear, the positions do work well together, if you are reaching out to new wiki owners and/or see new wiki owners create a discussion thread on community noticeboard. And how long are you around for today? I just need to compose your nomination(s), then you'll need to accept them. As long as you're around for a couple hours, it should be fine. Dmehus (talk) 17:44, 21 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Dmehus: I apply for both positions. Our time zones differ, I think I will be around for app. 1 hour, but I will be back very early in the morning, Lily (Lilypond Wiki · talk and I will listen · my little garden ) 19:10, 21 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Lily: Okay, thanks. I will finish up with other things today, then nominate you tomorrow morning my time (UTC -7). Dmehus (talk) 20:34, 21 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
My time seems to be UTC+2 (it is 0517 now in my time) Lily (Lilypond Wiki · talk and I will listen · my little garden ) 03:17, 22 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Thanks, @Lily:. Apologies for my not nominating you yesterday, but another user nominated themselves for wiki creator, although it wasn't successful at this time. If you're still around for a bit, I can nominate you today. Otherwise, we'll plan for tomorrow morning my time. Dmehus (talk) 19:33, 23 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thank you @Dmehus:. There is no need to rush ;-). I find it kind of funny when somebody is requesting global rights and does not bother to sign their requests Lily (Lilypond Wiki · talk and I will listen · my little garden ) 19:56, 23 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Lily: Thank you. Now that you mention it, I'm going to e-mail you with an idea. Dmehus (talk) 20:06, 23 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Regarding Asking for JS Help[edit source]

Hi, I noticed that you are asking for JS help to several people. I tried doing this in the console- const test = mw.loader.load('//'); console.log(Object.values(Object.values(params))); . Here, params is defined in the script that I loaded. This worked perfectly in the console but not in my userscript. R4356th (talk) 12:25, 8 December 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

R4356th Thank you for your support. I have asked Dmehus, but got no answer so I tried finding some else who is firm with JavaScript. I thought my idea should not be a big deal for someone who is experienced with Js. It was just an idea for making maintainance of my scripts easier by splitting the long link lists into shorter ones. I have also tried $.get as shown here and got nowhere, greetings Lily (Lilypond Wiki · talk to me · little garden · my wiki of everything) 14:49, 8 December 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

About Scribunto[edit source]

Hello, Lily. :)

As you might know, the Widgets extension has been disabled from Miraheze due to security issues and, according to @Dmehus, you use quite a lot of Lua with Scribunto, so I was wondering if I could tell if it's possible to embed HTML content, just like in Widgets, with Scribunto I never used Lua before btw. I'm aware it's also possible with JS/JQuery, but it does have a noticeable lag (not ideal for me).

Thanks!   Lakelimbo  •  Talk   02:15, 8 January 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Lakelimbo: Sorry for the delay, I was a little absent from Meta. This is an interesting question, I will check that out and tell you about the results, greetings Lily (Lilypond Wiki · talk to me · little garden · my wiki of everything) 19:36, 11 January 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hello Lily (Lilian I guess)[edit source]

Hi there! I'm personally inviting you to join me and other contributors on famepedia as I hope you could be good at team-working and coordination probably. FAMEPedia is an alternative Wikipedia with softer administration control and all that, an encyclopedia of course.
You could reach me here(by mentioning me) or on my Meta talk page which is next to my signature or on my FAMEPedia talk page Ugochimobi (talk) 12:47, 4 June 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Shaw's Nightmare[edit source]

Hi, I'm personally inviting you to join me on Shaw's Nightmare wiki. Shaw's Nightmare is a first-person shooter game inspired by Doom. It uses the modified Build engine by Ken Silverman. Mickey96 (talk) 17:28, 2 January 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Question[edit source]

Are you the same Wikimedia user that your signature's image links to? Bbbtest (talk | contribs | e-mail) 20:37, 19 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

No, I am not, I just liked the clipart. The name is coincidence (my username is derived from Lilypond of which I think Lilyu has no idea ), I do not speak French --Lily talk and I will listen · Lilypond Wiki 21:20, 19 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Do you have a Wikimedia account? Bbbtest (talk | contribs | e-mail) 21:34, 19 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Indeed, I have several accounts (from which I use mostly two)--Lily talk and I will listen · Lilypond Wiki 07:38, 20 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Why? Bbbtest (talk | contribs | e-mail) 00:58, 21 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I am administrating my own wikis here now. On wikipedia I have almost no rights, and the admins have deleted some of my edits what made me very angry because my work was lost. So I stopped to edit on wikipedia and write my own wikis where I have much more freedom. I created a second account in the time when I was active to publish stuff into the PD and I did not want to use my real name any longer. I am happy with the wikis here, no need for wikipedia for me --Lily talk and I will listen · Lilypond Wiki 18:27, 21 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
