Question[edit source]

Do you want codepend.miraheze.org or codepen.miraheze.org? Southparkfan (talk) 16:27, 20 February 2016 (UTC)

codepend.miraheze.org, I don't really want the domain to imitate the actual site domain. Anyways, if it did, Google Chrome would probably indicate it as a malicious website. Lemondoge T C GC 16:38, 21 February 2016 (UTC)
Understood, created. Southparkfan (talk) 11:59, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

Wiki audience[edit source]

I just noticed this page: [1]. Would you say that the CSS and JS schoolboard wiki is directed to children under the age of 13? Vorticity (talk) 00:01, 26 April 2016 (UTC)

What do you mean by "directed to children under the age of 13"? Lemondoge T C GC 00:39, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
He means that your wiki policy seems to imply you will punish administrators for blocking users under the age of 13 because doing so is illegal when in fact the exact opposite is true. Miraheze (can not/will not?) knowingly collect informations about users under the age of 13, including but not limited to their name and email address. Miraheze System administrators should prevent users under the age of 13 from creating accounts, and should we find that we have any personally identifiable information about them, remove it from our systems. @Vorticity: -- Cheers, NDKilla ( TalkContribs ) 01:38, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
@NDKilla: Not exactly. I mean "directed to children under the age of 13" in exactly the context of w:COPPA. If this is the case, or if Lemondoge's wiki somehow collects age data, then it MUST have a privacy policy acknowledging how data is used, and the wiki MUST obtain verifiable parental consent prior to the collection of any personal data. I honestly don't care what y'all have to say about whether or not User:Southparkfan can block accounts or not -- he of course can and SHOULD do so in his role as staff. Additionally, Miraheze is under no obligation to delete any users under the age of 13 or enjoin them from creating accounts, just to prevent the collection and distribution of personal data from said users in the event we become aware of this fact and insofar as the aforementioned data is not necessary for the operation of the site. Hope that clears things up! Vorticity (talk) 01:56, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
@Vorticity: I have created a privacy policy on Css and Js schoolboard now; and my wiki does not collect age data. Also, the reason that I said that "even permission from me or Southparkfan wouldn't let an administrator block children" is because I don't want anyone to get arrested for blocking children. Lemondoge T C GC 15:00, 30 April 2016 (UTC)
That's cool and all, I guess, except for a few things.
  • You didn't answer my original question: "Would you say that the CSS and JS schoolboard wiki is directed to children under the age of 13?"
  • The second is that I don't know of any jurisdiction where blocking children from content is illegal. You're still making an argument here that ignores global policy, but hey, it's a free country.
  • The third is that as far as I can tell, your privacy policy puts Miraheze at greater risk of lawsuit. You can't just assume parental consent, you have to verifiably collect it. It also makes anonymous editing cause for a permanent block, which is just weird.
I'm really close to recommending that your wiki be closed, as it is dangerously close to violating our content policy. (We don't have an official one yet, but rest assured it could violate both proposals.) Vorticity (talk) 19:56, 30 April 2016 (UTC)
@Vorticity: To avoid the wiki being closed, I deleted both pages; hope that'll fix it. Lemondoge T C GC 13:14, 1 May 2016 (UTC)
Unfortunately, no. You still need to answer the original question. My patience is wearing very thin here. --Vorticity (talk) 19:44, 1 May 2016 (UTC)
@Vorticity: Now I see what you meant by "directed to children under the age of 13"; so my answer (for the original question) is no. Lemondoge T C GC 21:27, 1 May 2016 (UTC)
