Peanut gallery comments on Stewards' noticeboard[edit source]

Hi Lamborghini446,

Ordinarily, I wouldn't revert comments on stewards' noticeboard, but I did so in this case for two reasons, not necessarily in the order of importance. First, this comment didn't comply with our talk page, user talk page, and noticeboard comments, as it missed a crucial timestamp for our archiving bot. Please remember to sign such comments on Meta with four tildes (~~~~), not three tildes (which includes only your username and talk page link). Second, this comment felt more like a comment from an uninvolved third-party in what is, notionally, a two-party dispute between the users in that noticeboard thread. Moreover, and perhaps most crucially, your comment failed to comprehend exactly what the user was requesting. That is, the user was in no way requesting that Portrock1566 be "globalled," as you put it. Indeed, the user is just seeking the assistance of an uninvolved community volunteer, or a steward, in mediating local dispute between the user and Portrock1566. When commenting in noticeboard threads, it's important that you fully understand all the issues at hand; otherwise, your comments add nothing of value.

Thank you for cooperation in this, and for your reading and adhering to the advice given in this message. Heeding this advice helps make Meta better for everyone. :)

Cheers,

Communication is required[edit source]

Hi Lamborghini446,

I note from this edit and this edit, you have re-added what are largely completely irrelevant comments by an uninvolved third party (you) in what is a two-party dispute, and, more problematic, you are addressing what are local wiki blocks on Meta. This is problematic. As I said above, QwertyMan'65 is simply asking for mediation, and you need to fully understand what he is asking before you participate in discussions. Finally, you have re-added these irrelevant comments without demonstrating that you understand talk page guidelines.

Before you make any further edits on Meta, by way of reply to this message, please acknowledge that you are understanding the concerns that have been expressed to you. It would stand you in good stead to acknowledge this by signing your posts with four tildes (~~~~), not three tildes.

Cheers,

Willig[edit source]

He's the one responsible for the closure on AYTW and other wikis. I can't believe he successfully manipulated the stewards to do what he and his "friends" wanted. https://archive.is/xGVtR Lamborghini446 (talk) 17:33, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Lamborghini446: Thank you for signing your talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This is great. I will let @Reception123: reply to your above assertion. Dmehus (talk) 18:03, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Honestly it's getting annoying and frankly rude of you to keep say that the Stewards have been "manipulated" by one user. I would like to remind that Stewards are voted on by the community as well. Simply reading the Content Policy will make it clear to anyone that the wikis closed were violating it. I strongly recommend that you read it. Let me also add, even though I have repeated this before, that it is ridiculous to keep claiming that Stewards were "manipulated" into closing the wikis by one user. The wikis were being monitored by Stewards and Global Sysops for a long while already, based on numerous reports of violations and also simply by Stewards and Global Sysops checking Recent Changes. I can tell you with great certainty that it was not "one user" that caused the wikis to close. Reception123 (talk) (C) 18:23, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
