Hello, GT610, and welcome to Miraheze! Miraheze is a free, non-for-profit wiki hosting service. If you would like to start a wiki please fill in this form or, if you'd like to contribute to an existing wiki, please see a few wikis here or the full list of wikis here. Note that (private) wikis aren't accessible unless you are given access, and closed wikis cannot be edited.

For more information, please see our FAQ. If you have any additional questions, concerns, or comments, please feel free to contact us.

You are encouraged to create your user page, whether here on Meta (visible only when on Meta), or your global user page that visible on any Miraheze wiki where a user does not have a local user page and provided that the wiki has the GlobalUserPage extension enabled and, additionally, where the wiki is not using the SocialProfile extension. Should you decide to create your global user page on Loginwiki and wish for it to replace your Meta user page, simply add the {{delete}} template to the top of your Meta user page by copying and pasting this code ({{Delete|1=Author requests deletion, or author blanked.}}), and an administrator should delete it promptly (usually within 24 hours).

If you have any questions, after first reviewing FAQ and the help center, please don't hesitate to ask at the community noticeboard, but please be sure to end all new topics or replies you make on talk pages, user talk pages (like this one), and noticeboards with four tildes (~~~~) to include both (a) a username and (b) a properly formatted timestamp for our talk page archiving bot.

I'd also thanks for Miraheze and all volunteers and stuffs on it, who helped me set up and start my small, newborn wiki. I will continue devoting myself to Miraheze, and make it better. --GT610 (talk) 02:48, 19 December 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Machine translations[edit source]

Hi, it has come to my attention that some (or all) of your translations appear to be machine translated (i.e. with Google Translate or another service) and therefore have quite a few inaccuracies. Please note that machine translation is NOT allowed on Meta and that all translations must be original. Please refrain from doing any machine translations. --小美粉粉 (Talk) (Contribs) (Sandbox) (My Wiki) (Global Contribs) 1004065811 bytes of data NOTE: Do not {{ping}} me! 06:11, 12 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I admit that I use results from machines in some translations, but I have checked all of them and fine-tuned them, to make sure the meanings are correct. GT610 (talk) 05:08, 22 July 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

For translations of Main Page[edit source]

I am grateful for your help with my translations and I have benefited from some of your corrections. I notice that you have changed my translation of "没有广告,永远" to "永远没有广告" and I would like to discuss this with you. I think the former is more in keeping with the original meaning and better emphasises the concept of "impossibility". And another thing I think is worth mentioning is that you should ensure that the style of all translations is consistent.

Best,

Thanks for your message, and I am glad to discuss this with you. My opinion is that the latter (永远没有广告) is better. In English, an adverbial can be placed at the end of the sentence, but usually in Chinese it looks and reads a bit strange. For the original sentence "
No ads, ever", "ever" is placed at the end partly because of the balance of the sentence. When translating it to Chinese directly, it looks weird because we don't say in this form. From my point of view, Not only does "永远没有广告" match our daily language habits, but also it can accurately express the meaning - Never have ads.
In a word, I think the latter is better.
Best,

Ok, I understand the problem, thanks for you letting me know where I'm falling short! Chisato (talk) 07:19, 16 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
