On my wikis i requested do i need to edit it to stop vandalism

hi do I need to edit the wiki to stop vandalism.--Andrew071117 (talk) 18:20, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This is quite time-consuming to answer repeated questions on-wiki, since you are especially active on Discord and IRC. Please ask us this on Discord or IRC. Thank you. Dmehus (talk) 18:22, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
but I am not allowed to use discord or irc right now Andrew071117 (talk) 18:23, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I don't believe that's the case? I have not seen any kicks, bans, or quiets on either platform? Dmehus (talk) 18:24, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
no i am at school and the teacher ban discord, irc and other social media and talking platforms at my school end in 4 pm et Andrew071117 (talk) 18:25, 26 May 2021 (UTC)--Andrew071117 (talk) 18:26, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I wondered that actually. Arguably, wiki talk pages are considered "social media" and "talking platforms," broadly construed, so you are arguably technically in breach of your teacher's conditions. I would recommend staying off your phone for non-educational purposes during school hours. Dmehus (talk) 18:29, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
but how about i have to use reliable sources can I use wikis Andrew071117 (talk) 18:51, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That depends. If you're writing an essay about Miraheze, then yes, Meta Wiki can be a reliable source, though it's a primary source, too. In most cases, though, as wikis are edited by anyone, even English Wikipedia is not an acceptable reliable source of information. You should only use them as a bibliographic reference aid to find actual reliable sources (i.e., in the "references" section). Dmehus (talk) 19:00, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
But what happen if I get a consequence what do I learn Andrew071117 (talk) 20:40, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Just do it when you get home. Iron Sword 23 (talk) 21:06, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Disruptive editing and Trolling

Hi Andrew071117,

Edits like this and this are exactly the kind of disruptive editing and trolling you've been told multiple times, across multiple platforms, by multiple people to refrain from doing. I'm again warning you to refrain from these activities, broadly construed. If you persist on this wiki, you will be indefinitely blocked on Meta Wiki. If you persist on Discord and/or IRC, platform moderators likely will either mute/quiet or ban you from the applicable platform(s) for a timeframe of an unspecified duration. If you continue this disruption or trolling across multiple wikis, your account will be globally locked.

I trust this will be completely clear for you.

Thank you,
Dmehus (talk) 15:23, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

but what about global block Andrew071117 (talk) 15:44, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Global blocks are given to IP addresses, global locks registered users. --Anton (talk) 15:48, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
But on fandom it's both IP address and registered user for global block Andrew071117 (talk) 15:57, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That's just Fandom's terminology, but also, I don't believe Fandom uses the CentralAuth extension but rather use a shared database, whereby there is functionality for Fandom community moderators to effectively block users from editing globally. Dmehus (talk) 16:17, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
but why does miraheze still use 1.35 and not use 1.36 the latest stable release Andrew071117 (talk) 14:41, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Because it takes time to upgrade, and Miraheze doesn't use the incremental updates that the WMF uses. — Arcversin (talk) 15:39, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I got locked multiple times on wikimedia wikis

hi I got locked on annoymous604 then locked again on anonymous 6042 and again on annoymous60422 on wikimedia wikis — Preceding unsigned comment added by Andrew071117 (talkcontribs) 18:21, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Okay.--Iron Sword 23 (talk) 18:22, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Andrew071117 What was the first account that was locked on the Wikimedia wikis? Your subsequent accounts were likely locked as lock evasion. You should avoid creating any new accounts on the Wikimedia wikis until you've successfully appealed your first lock to Wikimedia stewards. I believe the link is here. Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 16:08, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Trolling reminder

Hi Andrew071117,

I'm just dropping you a friendly reminder that edits like this and this, both of which are unsigned, though that's a minor issue here, constitute technical breaches of your agreed upon unlock conditions, which you agreed to:

  1. Not engage in vandalism
  2. Not engage in crosswiki abuse and trolling
  3. Use only one global account

Emphasis added.

Please remember to govern yourself accordingly, and also to sign your posts with four tildes (~~~~).

Partial Block

Following a request from DarkMatterMan, I have enacted a block to stop your edits to their talk page. Please refrain from spamming users talk pages and contact us politely on IRC if you have questions. Thanks, ~ RhinosF1 - (chat)· acc· c - (     around) 18:03, 7 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Andrew071117 While I don't think a partial block was necessary in this case, particularly per my note above, if you appeal your partial block, signing your appeal, and agree not to engage in needless spam, somewhat broadly construed, on users' talk pages, I'll accept your appeal and unblock you. Dmehus (talk) 18:05, 7 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I will not spam in darks wiki talk page anymore Andrew071117 (talk) 20:15, 7 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Andrew071117 That's good. And if you're unsure about posting on another user's talk page, will you ask a legitimate question from your user talk page, using either the {{admin help}} or {{help me}} template (as applicable) and signing your question/thread? Dmehus (talk) 20:26, 7 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

can you talk to my message on your user talk page on my wiki

hi @DarkMatterMan4500: will you talk to my message on your user talk on my wiki please I really want you to respond since I am blocked from your talk page on meta--Andrew071117 (talk) 14:15, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

1 day block

Per the very blatant failure to drop the stick on SN and your actions for a long time, you have now been blocked for 24 hours. If your behaviour does not drastically improve soon, you will face a much longer block. ~ RhinosF1 - (chat)· acc· c - (     around) 15:27, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

but the block was more then 1 day Andrew071117 (talk) 15:30, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
i would like to appeal this block and I will always drop the stick and never to fail to drop the stick ever again Andrew071117 (talk) 15:36, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
and the reason i was not dropping to stick because I think the name of the user is a bad word Andrew071117 (talk) 15:39, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Disruptive editing, competency is required, spamming, and trolling

Hi Andrew017117,

Your continuing to create spam and trolling threads like this suggest you are just here to disrupt, troll, vandalize, and spam. I would additionally point out that you are violating your agreed to unlock conditions from your two preceding locks. Looking through your global contributions, I'm not seeing much, if any, constructive contributions elsewhere. I originally was going to provide you another warning and arguably you should probably be locked globally for violating your twice agreed to unlock conditions and for crosswiki abuse, disruption, and trolling, but I'm willing to extend good-faith here and acknowledge that you may well be able to make constructive contributions elsewhere. As such, your account will not be locked, and am instead imposing an indefinite block on Meta Wiki, with a strong recommendation against appealing for at least three to six months.

Dmehus (talk) 15:44, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

But I did not vandelize Andrew071117 (talk) 15:52, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No, but you engaged in continuous trolling and other out of project scope editing designed to disrupt the topic of the discussion when repeatedly asked not to do so. Indeed, you have even pledged not to continue this practice, and yet you do. Dmehus (talk) 16:13, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Then when can. I appeal and if I get locked again will I appeal the lock or have to create a new account to continue editing Andrew071117 (talk) 16:16, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You can appeal anytime, but I'd suggest waiting at least three months as you clearly need time away from Meta Wiki to figure out what the issue is. If you are locked or blocked, you may not create other accounts to continue editing as that contravenes user accounts policy. Additionally, per the terms of your conditional unlock, you're restricted to one global account, unless authorized by Stewards, regardless of any local blocks as may be imposed. Dmehus (talk) 16:18, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
And if it does happen I am moving back to fandom Andrew071117 (talk) 16:19, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
As long as you've not had any previous accounts on Fandom globally locked, that's absolutely fine, though as a personal recommendation, I'd strongly suggest you take a break from wikis as your behaviour suggests you do not integrate well, currently, in a community-based environment. Dmehus (talk) 16:21, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
But what happen if it continues cross wikk Andrew071117 (talk) 16:21, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If your behaviour continues to be of an abusive, trolling, or vandalism nature onto multiple wikis, you will be globally locked. I'd strongly discourage further replies, as this thread is having diminishing returns, so I would be inclined to revoke your talk page access via page protection for three months. Dmehus (talk) 16:24, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I even see Your IP address has been blocked on all wikis.
The block was made by Stryn ( The reason given is Long-term abuse.
Start of block: 17:13, 9 June 2021
Expiry of block: 17:13, 9 September 2021 and this is my last reply Andrew071117 (talk) 16:26, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
