He is hosting a Chinese wiki about Minecraft and is pretty useful, although not so compelling to cite. Its URL is [1]. He also has an MCBBS and a Netease Minecraft forum account, at [2] and [3] respectively. He lives in China and uses the UTC+8 Time zone.

Just a Friendly Reminder[edit source]

Hi, looking through your contributions here on Meta, I couldn't help but notice that you haven't really provided many edit summaries, other than those that are automatically added by MediaWiki. Though most of your edits here are section edits to Meta's noticeboards, inputting short, simple edit summaries is a good practice for Meta and other wikis. Just thought I'd let you know for future reference. Turtle84375 (talk) 06:55, 5 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thanks, I will. --开炸弹车 (talk) 07:27, 5 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I noticed this discussion and just thought it is worth mentioning that there is no rule like that. Besides, providing edit summaries for translations is a huge pain with very little benefits. Redmin Contributions CentralAuth (talk) 07:31, 5 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
No, no, no. No one here is required to put the edit summary. There is no policy for it. If you want change it, please fill an RfC. Please do not bully users with non-existent policies.--MrJaroslavik (talk) 07:42, 5 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hold up; I think it's ironic, because now it seems like I'm the one being "bullied," if there ever was any occurring in the first place. I don't think there was. You both seem to be harassing me for letting a user know of a good practice, as I quote my original comment. I never said anything was a policy, I just was letting them know of something that a lot of wiki owners find helpful. However, if my "help" is causing more harm than good, I will stop, if you wish. I think MrJaroslavik could have been a bit less harsh in posting his comment, but what is done is done, I suppose. Now, translations is a different thing entirely, but I noticed some non-translation edits that I was referring to. Thank you, R4356th, for your good point, which is true, even still. Turtle84375 (talk) 18:11, 5 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Turtle84375: Sorry for the late reply. I get that you were sharing a good practice which it indeed is. The reasons I mentioned the fact that there is no such rule on Meta are- a) your phrasing was not polite enough and there was a lack of good faith, in my honest view, b) non-native English speakers who ask for help here often have difficulties expressing themselves and there is no reason to push them into doing something that potentially requires speaking English when there is no strict need for it, c) people generally come here asking for help with their wikis, not with any intention of hanging around and staying active in the Meta community and d) most if not all of the edits which are not translations are edits on talk pages or noticeboards asking for help; these edits do not strictly need summaries, you can always manually see the change. Of course, if they were making potentially controversial changes to policy pages then edit summaries would be necessary but I do not see any such edit. I request you to keep these in mind if you want to truly help around here. Thank you. Redmin Contributions CentralAuth (talk) 12:25, 6 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
R4356th I think in this case, please assume that I made that post in "good faith," as I meant nothing else but to potentially help a user (even though, I suppose, it didn't really). I'll admit that I could have lightened up my wording a bit. I now understand the issue, and your 4 points are valid. I suppose there's another case of irony, I myself don't bother with edit summaries when editing on one of my own wikis... something I overlooked before posting. It seems that I still have a lot to learn, but I'll take it bit by bit. My apologies in advance if any of you more experienced Meta helpers have to correct me again. Have a great day and/or night!
