User:RobLa/Journal

From Miraheze Meta, Miraheze's central coordination wiki

<< User:RobLa

This is the journal for User:RobLa, which I'll update from time-to-time as I work on User:RobLa/TODO, or when I do other things related to Miraheze. See User:RobLa#Journals for a list of all of my wiki journals.

1/ Updating my journal, just to show that I pay attention every so often.

1/ I created "Template:MirahezeUserLookup" over on electowiki.org, which will let me look up users that are new to electowiki such as User:Expand_section. It's basically syntactic sugar for Special:CentralAuth/RobLa, and it probably doesn't need a template, but I wanted to be able to remember how to look up users in CentralAuth.

1/ I created User:RobLa/Global user page as a draft of a page that I either want to move over to Global user page, or add the content to the FAQ. TBD. Also, I updated my user page (User:RobLa) over at https://login.miraheze.org/wiki/User:RobLa this evening.

1/ I've been better at keeping my journals on the other wikis than I have on this one. Since I just had a meeting with the board, I took a look at my goals for the last quarter, and ugh, that didn't work out as planned. But I think we can all say that about 2020.

See my freshly updated TODO list specific to Miraheze here: <https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/User:RobLa/TODO>, or see <https://robla.miraheze.org/wiki/Journals> for all of my wiki journals I'm keeping. I may need to consolidate them...

1/ I really need to get around to reading the Requests for Comment/Code of Conduct Commission reform. That's another thing for my TODO list...

I've surprised myself with how much editing I've done recently, even on robla.miraheze.org. I have 4 different Miraheze-hosted journals now:

I've even started one over on the Wikimedia-hosted wikis:

...and I updated my home page on my MediaWiki homepage: (mw:User:RobLa)

1/ Interesting, I just discovered that every wiki that I even look at as a logged-in user on Miraheze shows up on this page: Special:CentralAuth/RobLa. There's some sites in the list that my account was attached to that I'm not sure I want to publicly advertise any affiliation with. Note, I was careful to say "I'm not sure I want to...". I really don't know what's on the enormous list of wikis that my account attached to via CentralAuth. Since I've been on the Miraheze Board for a little while, there could be any number of reasons why I visited said wiki. Hmmmm...

2/ Oh yeah, I forgot to mention in my journal: I requested a wiki at https://robla.miraheze.org . Depending on how things go, I may want to replace my homepage (currently at https://robla.net ) with a wiki over here. I probably won't do that, but having https://wiki.robla.net would be nice, so that I can redirect people from https://robla.net over to https://wiki.robla.net . I put the request in at Special:RequestWikiQueue/12546. I'm in no big rush, but I'm curious how it goes.

1/ There's a lot to do on User:RobLa/TODO, and I haven't done as much as I'd like. I should fix that. Also, I have some thoughts on Abuse and the old Abuse Team that I should write up at some point.

Also, I'm copying https://electowiki.miraheze.org/wiki/Template:JournalUpdate over to this wiki (to Template:JournalUpdate. I like being able to use 01:59, 29 May 2020 (UTC) under adefault-formatted timestamp and have the time come out in UTC, while also being able to put the date in my timezone above it.
