Talk:User accounts policy

I think this policy page needs some clarification here[edit source]

What I'm trying to convey here is that the users who create alternate accounts should be encouraged to do so while logged in, wouldn't you say? DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 10:54, 28 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

In my opinion, they are increasing little by little recently. So, I think we have to take action right away. by Buel ·Talk·Wikimail 15:40, 28 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This is a commonly spread advisory; from an interpretive perspective I would say that while this is a good practice it doesn't necessarily need to be put explicitly here or put forth as the first or only option since I believe this would make it a platform stance affecting (mildly) user agency. This might change if more colleagues agree from an enforcement perspective (since this is indeed good practice and the suggestion is not a concrete rule), or if more users in general feel this should be stipulated. I assume as well that including this or not, we're keeping in mind the fringe cases where this may not be possible or desirable, while still having an outcome that is not deceptive or malicious in nature. --Raidarr (talk) 21:05, 28 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
