Well, I have to ask this somewhere.

@Reception123: I can see from these logs that you were the one who put up a central notice for that RfS. Considering your comments in proposal 1, can you at least state what's your criteria for whether a RfS gets a central notice or not? I'd just like some clarity on this. That's a fair point. As I said in the comment you mentioned, I'm not sure what the best way to handle this is - just that all candidates having a CentralNotice would not in my view be appropriate. Since no policy has been agreed upon in the last RfC the current method that is used is advertising candidates that have a realistic chance of becoming a Steward. Usually this is quite visible from the comments and support votes that already exist which indicate that at least some users already support the candidature. So if a candidate has a few supports/positive comments they are likely to at least have a somewhat realistic chance to become a Steward and therefore can have a CN, but if a candidate doesn't seem to have a realistic chance and has negative comments (especially ones saying it's too early) then I don't think there's any need in having a CN. As I mentioned however in my comment on the RfC, this is perhaps not the most fair system but if the community wants it to change then there should probably be another discussion on the matter and a clear result. Thank you, I suppose that's a fair point, and I'm glad that we have a clear explanation on how this sort of thing is done. K599 (talk) 21:25, 8 November 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
