Suggestions

Maybe we should put a link to the staff and volunteers here instead of on the table located on the IRC page. Tankobot (talk) 07:14, 3 May 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The first sentence in the What is Miraheze? section doesn't read well. Perhaps change to "Miraheze is a project with the mission to provide everyone high quality wiki hosting." or "... with the mission of providing high-quality wiki hosting for all." --Labraun (talk) 10:59, 23 February 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@LegoMaster: Should've checked the timestamp first, I don't think a response after 6 months will be useful :P Reception123 (talk) (C) 14:57, 20 February 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Where should this get posted?

I wanted to thank everyone involved in addressing the recent downtime due to a full database server. Does anyone know where the details are posted on wiki? Rsterbal (talk) 17:53, 28 February 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

According to this page's title, the word "centre" is spelled wrong! LadyParanormal (talk) 03:12, 9 March 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@LadyParanormal: The spelling is not 'wrong'. 'centre' is usually consider the British English spelling, while 'center' is the American English spelling. Reception123 (talk) (C) 07:32, 9 March 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I can't reply to or post any new comments.

I need help with commenting. After I post a comment, I can't reply to any replies I get on that comment and I also can't post anymore. What happens is I hit the post button and nothing happens and a ReCaptcha appears. Oftentimes, the site will seemingly punish me by giving me unsolvable Captchas or ones that take forever to solve even when your answers are correct. But for the most part, trying to post a comment does nothing because the post button doesn't seem to work at all anymore after the first comment so the ReCaptcha is pointless anyway. Can someone help me out here? Donutbandit (talk) 12:49, 7 August 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Help

I want to have an account on Terrible TV Shows Wiki, but everytime I try to create an account, all I get is this:

“There seems to be a problem with your login session; this action has been canceled as a precaution against session hijacking. Please resubmit the form.”

Can I have some help so I can create an account on Terrible TV Shows Wiki? — Preceding unsigned comment added by <redacted> (talk • contribs)

Are you using the Google Chrome to access on Miraheze wikis? If so, try to use incognito mode by pressing "Ctrl + Shift + n". I previously also having the same issue, but now can browse it. SA 13 Bro (talk) 00:43, 13 June 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Greetings. How to add visual editor feature to user pages on my wiki . I tried from managing namespaces but still no changes --Emad4ald (talk) 14:00, 20 September 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

You need to enable VisualEditor in Special:ManageWiki/extensions. Reception123 (talk) (C) 07:57, 22 September 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Login Error

When I try to login into MediaWiki app , I get this error https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Login_error.png

Error occurs when logging into Wikimedia This message says there is hijacking !!!

Please advice --Emad4ald (talk) 07:12, 22 September 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Well, I see that you are logged in as you posted this. And normally if that error happens you just need to resubmit the form. And if that doesn't work either, clear your cookies. Reception123 (talk) (C) 07:56, 22 September 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Now, I would direct you to the Community noticeboard as you're more likely to get a response there. --Sabelöga (talk) 21:17, 28 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Emad4ald: For these sort of issues, it's actually best to either report it on Discord or IRC to system administrators, in #miraheze connect as an example, or e-mail to tech@miraheze.org. Dmehus (talk) 21:18, 28 November 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Nevertheless, since it has been more than thirteen hours since you reported this issue, which I believe has since been resolved, please advise if any further issues by way of a reply to this thread, on an exception basis, and I will ping system administrators to it. Custom wiki farm

Hi, is it possible to create a custom wiki farm similar to Miraheze? If yes then how? --Plastacikec (talk) 08:33, 16 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Yes, read mw:Manual:Wiki farm. --Anton (talk) 09:16, 16 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Outdated extension

Hello, so I have installed the Scratchblocks extension on my wiki, but the scratchblocks are looking outdated, like from the 2.0 version of Scratch, and they have a square border around them. I think the extension is outdated, because on the Scratch wiki, there are the 3.0 version Scratch blocks. Is this going to be fixed? --Plastacikec (talk) 11:06, 17 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

That is an issue with the ScratchBlocks extension running an old version of SB. I will make a task to update it. Redmin Contributions CentralAuth (talk) 11:26, 17 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Ok okay, thanks :) Plastacikec (talk) 12:00, 17 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Plastacikec: Done. Redmin Contributions CentralAuth (talk) 12:06, 17 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I still see the 2.0 blocks on my wiki, do I need to reinstall the extension? Plastacikec (talk) 13:11, 17 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
No, the new version still has not been reviewed. If it passes the review, it will be installed and you would see the 3.0 blocks. Redmin Contributions CentralAuth (talk) 13:22, 17 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Oh okay. Plastacikec (talk) 13:29, 17 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
You can let me know on my talk page when it is aprooved :) Plastacikec (talk) 13:31, 17 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@R4356th Is it approved? Plastacikec (talk) 11:43, 18 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yes but it has not been deployed yet. Redmin Contributions CentralAuth (talk) 09:10, 19 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Oh okay, thanks for the info :) Plastacikec (talk) 16:18, 20 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
R4356th and Plastacikec Make sure that the 2.0 scratchblocks and 3.0 scratchblocks are different extensions. InspecterAbdel (talk) 16:38, 20 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hmm? What do you mean by that? Redmin Contributions CentralAuth (talk) 16:42, 20 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Lets say that the extension was upgraded to 3.0, but what if someone needed the 2.0? InspecterAbdel (talk) 16:50, 20 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I have seen on MediaWiki that there is a version label which when you enter 2 it shows 2.0 scratchblocks, and if you enter 3, it shows 3.0 scratchblocks. Plastacikec (talk) 17:49, 20 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I have taken a screenshot of the version label used, but I don't know if I can post it here Plastacikec (talk) 18:14, 20 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Plastacikec Preference for screenshots is to upload them to Miraheze Commons, with a clear and descriptive filename, taking care to fill in the applicable summary and licensing information. Failing that, you could also use Imgur. Dmehus (talk) 18:17, 20 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thanks for info :) Also, click here to view the screenshot on Imgur. Plastacikec (talk) 18:33, 20 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yeah, exactly. If the extension had not been archived, we could keep the outdated version, too but that is not a good idea because of the circumstances. Redmin Contributions CentralAuth (talk) 21:58, 20 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I don't know what is wrong with using the version attribute Plastacikec (talk) 12:57, 21 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Are you replying to me? If so, I am not saying there is anything wrong with the version attribute. I am instead saying that anyone who does not want 3.0 blocks can use that attribute. :) Redmin Contributions CentralAuth (talk) 14:40, 21 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Oh okay :) Plastacikec (talk) 08:14, 22 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@R4356th Is the extension getting updated? Because the Scratchblocks are not loading and they are without the outline now. Plastacikec (talk) 16:46, 25 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@R4356th When it gets updated, it should say in the news, and also there should be something to say that if you need to use the 2.0 scratchblocks, you need to use the version attribute :) Plastacikec (talk) 20:24, 22 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yeah, the extension has been updated but the Content Security Policy (CSP) had to be updated which has just been  done, thanks to Reception123. Mentioning this in the news section is not necessary though as we have a lot of extensions and I suspect SB is not very widely used. I will update the MW.org page instead. Redmin Contributions CentralAuth (talk) 19:33, 25 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Oh okay, now I see the 3.0 scratchblocks :) Plastacikec (talk) 08:33, 26 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Plastacikec Hi, the name of this extension is DiscussionTools. :) HeartsDo (Talk / Global / Wiki Creator) 13:45, 23 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi, how can I get the markdown table like this one? Screenshot. --Plastacikec (talk) 07:44, 5 May 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi, MediaWiki:Edittools and/or MediaWiki:Edittools.js. Thanks. --Anton (talk) 08:09, 5 May 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thanks :) And how do I add the buttons? Plastacikec (talk) 08:15, 5 May 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Use <charinsert> code. You can take a model or copy it here. Anton (talk) 08:59, 5 May 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Protection level display template

Hi.

I would like to have an icon in the top right corner of my wiki article that shows the protection level of the article, but I don't know how. Also, I would like it to have custom images. Any way how to do it?

Thanks. JackyBorderCollie (talk) 15:45, 3 July 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
