Extensions that store PII[edit source]
Some extensions that store PII include:
- Checkuser (obvious)
- AbuseFilter: It is possible to access IP addresses of people who hit an abuse filter. This information is stored on the abuse_filter_log table, on the
afl_ip
field. The permission for on-wiki access is(abusefilter-privatedetails)
, granted only to checkusers in Miraheze. - Moderation: It stores user-agent and X-Forwarded-For headers and IP addresses in the moderation table, fields
mod_ip
,mod_header_xff
,mod_header_ua
. Accessing this data on-wiki requires the Checkuser extension and the(moderation-checkuser)
permission, granted only to checkusers.
That's just some of the top of my head that I know store this info. All of these are available in Miraheze wikis. OrangeStar (talk) 12:59, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
- Is this a request to add this information to this page? Otherwise we are of course aware of which extensions store PII and our script removes PII for all those extensions on request. Reception123 (talk) (C) 14:09, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, it was. Looks like you were trying to compile a list of those extensions, so I suggested some that I know for sure store it. But if you already have it then I guess there's no need to add anything. OrangeStar (talk) 14:12, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
- We know what extensions store PII but no one's had time to update this page unfortunately. You can see a list of tables that our RemovePII script deletes here on our GitHub. I'll try to update this page eventually once I have time. Thank you for reminding us though! Agent Isai Talk to me! 15:33, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
