Interwiki link requests on my wikis.

Hi, I'd like to request several interwiki links on my wikis.

  1. for Usopedia
  2. for Akancyclopedia
    1. nusp - https://newusopedia.miraheze.org/wiki/$1 (The new Usopedia)
    2. pio - https://piowiki.miraheze.org/wiki/$1 (Piowiki)
  3. for Piowiki
    1. akan - https://akancyclopedia.miraheze.org/wiki/$1 (Akancyclopedia)
    2. nusp - https://newusopedia.miraheze.org/wiki/$1 (The new Usopedia)

I will leave it to you whether any of these should be global interwiki links, but for now, I'd like to request it locally (global interwiki links are also fine, as long as they works on my wikis). Thanks for reading.--開拓者 (The Pioneer) (talk/contribs) 19:11, 13 July 2018 (UTC)

I happened to find that this request made on phab after I posted this request was dealt sooner than the request I made on Stewards' noticeboard. When I requested for interwiki links for the first time, it also took more than two weeks and was once automatically archived, though the staff told me to post my requests here. I think requests of a same kind should be handled in a first come, first served manner, even if there are several channels available, and I'm a bit unhappy about it. So can you tell me what's going on?--開拓者 (The Pioneer) (talk/contribs) 04:32, 24 July 2018 (UTC)
Hi, terribly sorry for the delay, I started reviewing the request over three days ago (which is still later than I would have liked), and have had minimal time to set to work on this. I'll be getting it done later today. -- Void Whispers 16:00, 25 July 2018 (UTC)
Since usopedia.aioilight.space redirects to newusopedia.miraheze.org I don't think it needs adding. Otherwise, Yes check.svg Done -- Void Whispers 16:39, 25 July 2018 (UTC)
Thanks.
You're right about usopedia.aioilight.space. The situation has changed since I made the request (the Miraheze version was a beta then, but is now official), which is why the old URL is now a redirect. And because of this, I'd like to make interwiki prefix "usp" on akancyclopedia and piowiki updated to the new URL (newusopedia.miraheze.org). Thanks again for your help.--開拓者 (The Pioneer) (talk/contribs) 05:00, 26 July 2018 (UTC)
Should I remove the nusp interwiki link, or just leave it? -- Void Whispers 17:48, 26 July 2018 (UTC)
Thanks. Please just remain nusp as it is.--開拓者 (The Pioneer) (talk/contribs) 18:29, 26 July 2018 (UTC)

Globally blocking/locking an LTA appeared on Usopedia

Hi, I'd like to request for a global block/lock on IPs and users that are for vandalism only, and repeating copyright infringements.

The IPs are all mobile (which can change easily), and I may suggest a range block. Thanks.--開拓者 (The Pioneer) (talk/contribs) 09:30, 19 July 2018 (UTC)

@開拓者: THese IPs and user accounts that you mention have not vandalised any other wikis, only one. Therefore, I don't see a need to take any global action at this time (as that's what local blocks are for). You are free to range block them on your wiki locally, if you think that will stop the issue. Reception123 (talk) (C) 10:48, 19 July 2018 (UTC)
OK, then I'd like to request for checkuser on the three accounts above (I know you can lock them for abusing multiple accounts) and an additional account (Special:CentralAuth/チクタク時計) that appeared after I created this topic. I should also tell you that these user names indicate that they are the accounts of an known LTA in Japanese wikis (such as Wikipedia, and Uncyclopedia, etc.).--開拓者 (The Pioneer) (talk/contribs) 14:58, 19 July 2018 (UTC)
Reception asked for a CU and I declined it. CU isn’t returning a lot of useful information and IP ranged based on the past results are regular broadband connections (and IPv6 too) so there’s not a lot CU is useful for. If you know they’re an LTA and they’re linked, that’s pretty much all I’d conclude from a CU. John (talk) 15:56, 19 July 2018 (UTC)
I see. Thanks for your response.--開拓者 (The Pioneer) (talk/contribs) 16:01, 19 July 2018 (UTC)
Now that this LTA has also appeared on the forked Japanese Uncyclopedia, it's a cross wiki issue, and I'd like to ask for a Steward to take global resoponse again.--開拓者 (The Pioneer) (talk/contribs) 07:32, 30 July 2018 (UTC)

Speaking of the Dormancy Policy, I would like to make my Wiki immune to that

Hello, I said in my wiki request that my wiki [1] is meant to document the laws of the Crazybloxian Empire. Speaking of the Dormancy Policy, I would like to make it immune to deletion for the following reason:

Used to display info that can take multiple months to edit, write, check, and process

Thank you very much , said Fair002 in a statement. (talk) 14:21, 21 July 2018 (UTC)

E-hem!!!! ARENT THESE STEWARDS PAYING ATTENTION? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fair0002 (talkcontribs)

Sorry for no response. It is unclear from what you are saying that you need an exemption since it says "edit, write, check, and proces [sic]" meaning that you will be actively working on it. A dormancy exemption can be granted in the case that you will not be working on the wiki for long periods of times. Reception123 (talk) (C) 06:11, 25 July 2018 (UTC)

I meant to say I want it immune because I dictated in my wiki request that it would display Crazybloxian Empire laws in full-text. Full-text laws take a lot of time to write. I meant the reason for making it immune is because the only edits I will make on it take several months to process. Full-text laws are SUPER-LONG. They take several pages. So can you please make it immune to the Dormancy Policy? Thank you!

Requesting non-deletion of OpenHatch wiki

Hi Stewards!

I've been importing the OpenHatch wiki to Miraheze, for the main purpose of keeping it online as an archive as the non-profit OpenHatch has wound down operations. You can read more about our history growing open source here: https://blog.openhatch.org/2017/celebrating-our-successes-and-winding-down-as-an-organization/

I'd love to keep our wiki online for posterity, so that people who are trying to run similar organizations in the future can use our information as a resource. The only edits I foresee in the future are related to updating historical information. The wiki is likely to go dormant over the next few monnths, but my preference is to keep it online even if it does go dormant.

I'm in the #miraheze channel on Freenode, and intend to be responsive to questions from Miraheze staff. Let me know what you think! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Asheesh (talkcontribs)

@Dami: Hi, out of curiosity, may I ask, why are you requesting deletion? Reception123 (talk) (C) 09:59, 14 August 2018 (UTC)
@Reception123: Because the only thing that forced me to continue the wiki was an infobox that does not work. Unfortunately, no one was able to help me. Anyway, thank you to all who helped me somehow. For a very long time, I wanted to have my own wiki with functional infoboxes, but we probably can not have everything. Thank you Dami (talk) 11:09, 14 August 2018 (UTC)

Making Ansaikuropedia and Usopedia exempted from the Dormancy Policy

Hi, I'd like to request two of the wikis I'm involved as a bureaucrat/admin to be exempted from the Dormancy Policy.

The 2 wikis are:

  2. https://ansaikuropedia.miraheze.org -Ansaikuropedia

Internet slandering

Hello, I would like to complain to users of the wiki Nonsensopedia: Sir Polskacafe, Mr obornik and Michsar for publicly slandering me on the internet. These users have written NonAnalysis 3 about my work 4 where I am insulting with my nickname (Inferno82) without any scruples. The slogans in the style of "Have a fucking schizophrenia" are there on the agenda. Unfortunately, none of the administrations has deleted this personal attack, so I am asking for help here. I am demanding to remove this work and to remove the permissions and blocking these users for publicly defaming me on the internet and not removing this work. Nobody even apologized for this creation. By law, I could accuse these users of the abuse on the Internet. I am deeply disappointed by the local community and I would like to ask for help here. My discussion is here 5 Inferno82 (talk) 20:59, 20 August 2018 (UTC)

To start by picking a nit, written text is not slander but it might be libel. But only if it harms your reputation, and that is pretty hard to do to an anonymous wiki user operating under a nickname. It could harm your reputation within Nonsensopedia. However, smooth dealings among wiki users is generally one of the jobs of that wiki's Admins. Meta is a separate wiki (a separate "community") whose only task relative to Nonsensopedia is to keep it operational. Meta people are unlikely to take sides or intervene into the Nonsensopedia community to enforce standards of behavior, unless the behavior poses risks of getting Miraheze in trouble with the Law. Also, I'm pretty sure that deciding who is right would require that the interlopers read Polish. Spıke (talk)01:12 21-Aug-2018
There currently appears to be a deletion process open on the pages in question. I'd be more tempted to let that run its course as opposed to do anything more, especially since those pages seem to be leaning towards unanimous deletion (correct me if I'm wrong). -- Void Whispers 02:40, 21 August 2018 (UTC)
@Inferno82: If you believe that this may violate the Code of Conduct you can send an email to the Code of Conduct/Commission and we will review it. Reception123 (talk) (C) 05:24, 21 August 2018 (UTC)
Also: Nonsensopedia is a humor wiki, and "Have a fucking schizophrenia" is not a serious threat. Please re-read and consider whether the whole thing was a crude attempt at humor. Spıke (talk)13:17 21-Aug-2018
My two cents, if you do not feel the community's internal disciplinary procedures or protocol for dealing with cases like these, we encourage you to send an email to the CoC Commission (see Reception's message above) so that we (the CoC Commission members) may take a look! 202.126.127.114 has triggered global filter 18 and a global block may be necessary in this case. Pkbwcgs (talk) 11:01, 31 August 2018 (UTC)

92.255.231.183, 177.53.45.222, 84.241.62.89, 177.38.4.66, 109.104.129.150 and User:AnjaGiorza2 have all triggered spam filters and may need global blocks and a global lock. Pkbwcgs (talk) 16:41, 31 August 2018 (UTC)
124.244.21.131 has triggered global filter 18 and is a good candidate for a global block. Pkbwcgs (talk) 07:03, 1 September 2018 (UTC)
82.139.152.140 may need to be globally blocked as soon as possible as this IP has triggered the spambot filter. Pkbwcgs (talk) 15:14, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
178.159.37.81 has been cross-wiki spamming and a global block will certainly be needed in this case. Pkbwcgs (talk) 14:12, 5 September 2018 (UTC)

Request for permission to my subaccount, The Pioneer

Hi, due to the following reasons, I'd like to have the same permission I have as 開拓者 for my subaccount, The Pioneer.

  1. Wikis could ban my account 開拓者 because of my non-English name (which actually happened on the weather wiki and could happen on other wikis in the future). In such wikis, I can work as The Pioneer instead, with my English name.
  2. Being a flooder for hours as I did yesterday can restrict my actions severely (especially on Meta). Thus, I'd like to use the account The Pioneer as the flooder account, when necessary and if allowed, so that I can keep my main account 開拓者 available for other activities (such as creating a wiki).

My activities using the subaccount will be limited to cases above, and I would like to ask for permission if allowed. Thanks.--開拓者 (The Pioneer) (talk/contribs) 07:41, 2 September 2018 (UTC)

P. S. If having the complete permissions I have as User:開拓者 isn't allowed, the minimal set of permission I'd ask for User:The Pioneer will be my permissions as a CVT and as an interwiki admin, which are both directly related to the issues above.--開拓者 (The Pioneer) (talk/contribs) 07:41, 2 September 2018 (UTC)
Hmm, the first point is a bit of a non-issue, if that's local policy, it's best to bring it up with local admins, but if they're active, you probably won't need to do much in the way of CVT work anyway. For the second case, I don't see a problem with allowing users an account with elevated permissions for use when flooding. If that is the case, I don't see the need for more permissions than the local tool set. -- Void Whispers 19:26, 5 September 2018 (UTC)

Images imported on nonciclopedia.miraheze.org are attributed to "Maintenance script"

[6] I know, this happens because of how the upload script works, but not only it messes the edit count of users, it also infringes the CC-BY-SA license they're under since nobody can see who created them. Wouldn't it better to first upload the pages in the "File" namespace (which include histories) and then upload the actual file? Or can anything else be done to fix this and return proper histories to files? Wedhro (talk) 06:41, 14 September 2018 (UTC)

Proposal to change MediaWiki:Blockedtext slightly

I would like to make the block notice stand out more just like on Wikipedia. At the moment, I feel that the blockedtext doesn't stand out enough. I am proposing something like this:

Your username or IP address has been blocked from editing.

The block was made by $1. The reason given is $2.

  • Start of block: $8
  • Expiration of block: $6
  • Intended blockee: $7

You can contact $1 or another administrator to discuss the block. You cannot use the "email this user" feature unless a valid email address is specified in your account preferences and you have not been blocked from using it. Your current IP address is $3, and the block ID is #$5. Please include all above details in any queries you make.

I would like to know what you think. I am testing this on my own Wiki and looking into the blockedtext. If you think this can still be improved, please let me know. Thanks. Pkbwcgs (talk) 18:55, 23 September 2018 (UTC)

It didn't work as all the tabs and the website interface came into the block notice. Can you please suggest something. Pkbwcgs (talk) 19:06, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
I use a near exact copy of Wikipedia’s blockedtext, except the actual text has been modified for my wiki, and the box about the notice being unclear underneath the main message has been removed. My version is available here and it works just fine for me (although I should also note that I’ve directly imported Wikipedia’s Common.css onto my wiki, which may be required in order for things like this to work properly). Amanda Catherine (talk) 00:59, 24 September 2018 (UTC)
I should also note that I don’t think there is a way to globally control MediaWiki interface messages - I think it’s up to local admins to decide what they want for their individual wikis. Amanda Catherine (talk) 01:01, 24 September 2018 (UTC)
What Amanda says is not correct, as we have an extension (MirahezeMagic) which deals with this exact thing. If you would like it to be changed, maybe propose another version, and see what the other users think? Reception123 (talk) (C) 18:58, 25 September 2018 (UTC)

I am also having to do the CAPTCHA on Miraheze as well which I never had to use. Pkbwcgs (talk) 18:52, 30 September 2018 (UTC)

Clearly you only understood the part of my reply where I declined your request. I did read what you gave me. I also read the threads where GethN7, Masson Thief, and one other user all told you to stop around six times in total. I also read the contents of the deleted pages you created, and found that it's little more than whining about a person, and that the version of the page from September was a borderline Content Policy violation. Even if I set Nonciclopedia as private since the very beginning, today an anonymous user vandalized the home page. How is this even possible? Wedhro (talk) 20:21, 14 October 2018 (UTC)

The home page is always visible to all users, I'd suggest protecting it. -- Void Whispers 21:54, 14 October 2018 (UTC)
But private shouldn't mean nobody can edit anything? Maybe I misunderstood, I'm just asking for clarification. Wedhro (talk) 22:18, 14 October 2018 (UTC)
The current way we make wikis private is simply by removing the ability to read from all users, and only allowing certain groups to be able to read. It does not affect editing, except that you cannot edit a page you cannot read. If you want, you can restrict editing as well using Special:ManageWikiPermissions. -- Void Whispers 22:20, 14 October 2018 (UTC)

Yes check.svg Done -- Void Whispers 15:31, 26 October 2018 (UTC)

my wiki, indytechfix.miraheze.org, seems to have disappeared completely.

There's no longer even any record of it in my contribution log. I'm in a bit of a panic. Thanks for looking into it! Indytechfix (talk) 14:32, 23 October 2018 (UTC)

@Indytechfix: I am sorry to see that your Wiki has disappeared. I will take a look into it. The URL is giving an error 404. Maybe a steward could have accidentally deleted it for some reason? Pkbwcgs (talk) 14:58, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
There is no log for the deletion of a Wiki. Maybe, it was deleted because it was closed and nobody requested your Wiki to be adopted. A steward could help out here but it was probably deleted due to your inactivity. Pkbwcgs (talk) 15:06, 23 October 2018 (UTC)

I recall last editing it maybe a month ago. Kind of hard to prove with all of my contribution logs disappeared too. Is there any way a wiki deletion can be undone? Indytechfix (talk) 15:11, 23 October 2018 (UTC)

This is odd for two reasons. The first being that it was deleted on October 6th, in accordance with the Dormancy Policy, after having verified that there had been no edits in over 180 days. The second being that this is the third or fourth time that someone has reported this kind of error with a wiki deleted on the 6th. I am sorry, but unless you can supply us with a backup of the wiki yourself, our backups only extend to October 7th. -- Void Whispers 15:35, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
Unfortunately the only "backups" I have are a couple pages that I had printed out in hard copy. No digital backups of the wiki in any way. I guess I'll just have to absorb this loss and do my own hosting going forward. Thanks for doing what you can. Indytechfix (talk) 16:02, 23 October 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for your list. However, each communities have their own discussion and policies, especially regarding several forked communities. I'm dealing with it, and am waiting for their decisions to be made. Since they're not hosted by you, I'd like you to respect their own decisions (even if they choose to assign language codes to different versions). Thank you.
P.S. and for the languages not available, I believe you'll have to ask for an extension to enable custom language codes (which I'm not so familiar with). Please file a request on Phabricator.--開拓者 (The Pioneer) (talk/contribs) 03:51, 8 November 2018 (UTC)

Copyright violation on Nonsensopedia

Hi, I'm a bureaucrat of nonsensopedia.wikia.com (I'll refer to it as the original Nonsensopedia).

Recently our wiki got forked here under the adress nonsensopedia.miraheze.org. The decision to fork was made by former admins of the original Nonsensopedia and we have entirely new administration now.

The problem is – the Miraheze fork doesn't provide required attribution according to the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported license that we use. We already provide a template that guarantees required attribution, you can find it here. It's based on templates used by Wikipedia and the aformentioned legal code.

I've already asked the bureaucrat of the Miraheze fork to include this template in almost every article on the fork (there is a very small number of pages created on the fork), you can find my request here and his reply here. He was very… reluctant to do it. He called my request an attempt at extermination or free advertising. Well, I tried.

So – we demand that either the required attribution appears in every migrated article, or all copyright-infringing content is deleted. Magwac (talk) 16:43, 14 November 2018 (UTC)

I don't see the problem. Each article has the full history of authors, and, there is a link at the bottom of every page stating that the content may have originated from wikia. Sometimes it seems that the link doesn't lead to the right place (or the original content no longer exists), but that can perhaps be adjusted. -- Void Whispers 21:13, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
That absolutely isn't enough. According to the CC-BY-SA 3.0 license you have to provide:
  • The type of license (here: Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported).
  • A link to the full text of this license.
  • A list of authors or a link to such.
  • Original title of the work.
  • A link to the original source, where the work has been published.
None of these points is satisfied by this notice. First of all – at no point in the license is a may statement allowed. Either a page has content copied from Wikia or it does not, saying it may is misleading. Furthermore, the text says This page may contain contents from old, unofficial Nonsensopedia. Calling the original Nonsensopedia unofficial is an abuse – Nonsensopedia is not a registered organisation, foundation or even a trademark so any fork cannot be called official. Moreover, this notice shows up only on the default skin and is completely invisible on other skins, including the mobile skin. Magwac (talk) 22:24, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
According to the Wikia Licence, attribution may be satisfied solely by providing a list of authors. Given that the full history of the article is preserved and available through the page history, attribution is satisfied. Furthermore, unless the pages have been moved, they are still provided under the same name as when the content was first released, and if they have, it is still available in the history of the page. Indeed, I'm tempted to suggest that the notice be modified in only two ways. It should be changed to indicate that the site is based off content that was originally released under CC-BY-SA 3.0 with a link to the legalcode. Secondly, it should be added to other skins where possible. Perhaps it could be included as a sitenotice? I will not argue on the nature of calling one official. -- Void Whispers 23:07, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
The only binding legal document here is the Creative Commons legalcode, nothing else. You have linked to a non-existent page, so I have no idea what is there. Even if Wikia says it's fine, Creative Commons takes precedence and should be considered the binding agreement.
As for technicalities – I don't know what is possible with this version of MediaWiki, but from my experience sitenotice can be dismissed by the user to not be shown anymore and the legal notice should be present at all times. Maybe there's another way, I'm not sure. Magwac (talk) 23:45, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
It might be worth looking at Wikivoyage to see how they've handled this issue. The attribution belongs to the author, no one else. Wikitravel used to be a non-commercial entity; it was purchased (in a back room deal, and over the community's objections) by Internet Brands in 2006 - much like uncyclopedia.org's domain was sold out from under the community to Wikia that same year. The German and Italian travel wikis immediately forked as Wikivoyage, a not for profit entity; most of the other languages (including en: and fr:) followed suit in 2012. Internet Brands tried all manner of frivolous litigation in an attempt to prevent the original contributors from exercising their right to take their CC-BY-SA content and go elsewhere. How far did it get them? Of course, Wikivoyage is backed by the Wikimedia Foundation and its lawyers, so taking a look at how they handle attribution and following the same model should be more than adequate. There's nothing here that entitles you to a link promoting Wikia on every page of some competing project's site. The attribution belongs to the authors; the user pages and the edit histories were imported to make that attribution. That is entirely sufficient. I'd be inclined not to second-guess Wikitravel vs. Wikivoyage as precedent in this regard. Carlb (talk) 13:12, 15 November 2018 (UTC)

First off, I want to say that you can demand all you want here on this wiki, but nothing will compel us to do anything short of a properly-formed DMCA takedown request. If you are making suggestions, this is the correct forum; demands are best left to the proper legal instruments.

The Creative Commons license requires URL attribution to the extent that is "reasonably practicable", but does not specify the means to do so. It is my opinion that a notice on the copyright or history page would suffice, providing that it is practical. Including a template on every page does not sound very reasonable, as attribution is typically not provided in this matter on wikis.

Additionally, you agreed to construe your version of the CC-BY-SA attribution clause narrowly under the Wikia Licensing Agreement. This addendum to the Creative Commons agreement clarifies the scope of the Attribution clause, and as such, moderates the CC-BY-SA agreement with regard to contributions made to Wikia. As the pages include the entire edit history of every author, Miraheze completely adheres to this agreement you made, without making any changes. If you have any additional points to make about how we could improve compliance, we'd love to hear from you.

If you chose to pursue this further, we will respond and comply to all DMCA notices and counter-notices submitted to Miraheze, as required under U.S. law. Our process is specified here.

Thanks for your interest,

Labster (talk) 00:00, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
Well, you are right about the narrowing of the Atrribution clause on Wikia, I honestly didn't know that. Still, even if a list of authors is sufficient, a link to the original source is practicable so it should be provided. The problem is, current notice is misleading and doesn't show up on every skin. I would propose something along those lines:
Ta strona zawiera treści pierwotnie opublikowane na stronie nonsensopedia.wikia.com (linking to the original article)
English for your convienience: This page uses material originally published on nonsensopedia.wikia.com
That's much more neutral than the current notice. I think it's not unreasonably difficult to put it somewhere on the page on every skin. Magwac (talk) 08:32, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
While we're discussing Wikia and copyright, could you please place a notice on every page of nonsensopedia.wikia.com stating clearly "This content may contain text copied or translated from the English-language Uncyclopedia or other members of the Uncyclopedia family which are licenced under the non-commercial CC-BY-NC-SA licence. As the restrictions of this licence would apply to any derivative works, this page is very likely to be a copyright violation - an issue which has been ongoing since 2006."
Thank you. I realise it is the least of Wikia's copyright issues, as their repositioning themselves as "fandom" creates a huge question of how much fans of clearly-copyrighted works can quote from those works before surpassing the limits of fair use or fair dealing, but I've been waiting a dozen years for this to be addressed. First of all, this is off-topic. Secondly, we actually follow Creative Commons strictly and put such notices in articles since 2006, you can find one example here. Nonsensopedia is kind of an exception in the Uncyclopedia family when it comes to following copyright laws. We also have a completely different philosophy than Uncyclopedia. And when it comes to NC licenses… Well, you just have to assume that translated content also has the NC clause, I think that's the only reasonable way. Magwac (talk) 13:50, 15 November 2018 (UTC)

Oh, and another thing – one thing that wasn't imported is file upload history, so unless a file has an Information template in its description (and only some of them do), the author goes entirely uncredited. Magwac (talk) 22:53, 15 November 2018 (UTC)

Sooo…? All I want is proper attribution of the original site, nothing too unreasonable. And as I pointed out above, many files are not attributed in any way. Moreover, due to… something some pages' history has been overwritten (example) so there's no attribution at all too. And come on, be serious. Your response is then file a DMCA takedown? Yeah, that's totally reasonable, as we are an informal group of writers from Poland and you guys are an organisation with a budget of literally a thousand bucks. Just don't be evil, that's it. Magwac (talk) 09:31, 17 November 2018 (UTC)

Attribution to the site is not required under the licensing of the wiki, attribution to the author is required. Unless you file a formal issue with Miraheze (aka, DMCA), the onus is on the individual wiki to rectify and not on us - in fact reasonably all steps must be taken to rectify before we intervene. Our budget makes no difference - that is a 100% donated for the purposes of running this service. We are volunteers, we don't make a profit, we're not doing anything to "be evil", we're doing it to ensure not only is each community held to the same fair standard but their freedom to contribute, freedom to use Miraheze and most of all their freedom to expression and free speech isn't impeded unnecessarily. If we take down a wiki who is mostly compliant with their legal right but because there is small issues which they have not been given the chance to rectify (which actually under the license gives them 30 days to from notification of violation to resolve before the license becomes void and thus a copyright infringement) we are then being evil as we are not being fair and restricting a communities freedom to contribute and use Miraheze. I've already notified admins of this wiki about this and was met with a very angry response, that's why I'm here. I don't really want to take that wiki down, I just want to protect my wiki's interest and ensure it is properly attributed.
My point is – even if a list of authors is sufficient, a link to the original website is a possible solution, so it would be fair to provide it. Magwac (talk) 11:12, 17 November 2018 (UTC)
We’re here to ensure the minimum is met. Anything extra is the community and not something we’re ever going to force. John (talk) 11:20, 17 November 2018 (UTC)
Ugh, all right. I'm not a fan of this minimalistic approach, for me it's just horribly unfair, but if that's what you're going to stick to, then fine.
The only unsolved issue then is files that have been uploaded automatically by a bot missing any original author information – one such example. There's much more than that, probably something around 1000–3000 files (a very rough estimate). Magwac (talk) 11:48, 17 November 2018 (UTC)

"Cite" Extension doesn't work.

Simply put, the "cite" extension on my wiki doesn't work as it's supposed to. What follows is a screenshot of the issue. Any help is appreciated. [11] --LopesTheIdiot

Hi, you need to enable both "Cite" and "CiteThisPage" in Special:ManageWikiExtensions. Paladox (talk) 18:40, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
