Account rename 2

Hi, I've been here for a while, and decided that it's kind of weird to be known by one name on IRC and GitHub and everywhere else, but not here on Miraheze. Can you global rename my account from User:Vorticity to User:Labster? Thanks. --Vorticity (talk) 20:52, 19 July 2016 (UTC)

 Done :D Southparkfan (talk) 21:01, 19 July 2016 (UTC)

My account, QuestionableSanity, has been IP blocked on the All The Tropes wiki.

Can you please unblock my account? I know my password, but it doesn't let me log in. Who should I send my account password to for verification? -- 2601:246:4603:4379:34b6:699b:e06b:84e2

Your IP was blocked on All The Tropes because you were impersonating an All The Tropes administrator. As you can see here, I am not sure either if you are the real QuestionableSanity, but it's GethN7's call. Southparkfan (talk) 09:37, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
I am an administrator on ATT. I have already contacted Geth on his blog (see the comments section of the top post of http://gethn7.blogspot.com/), and he claims that it wasn't him, and that I should contact you.
Hi, since your blocked only on AllTheTrope wiki, please liase with Geth to have the block undone. We have not acted on the matter, it is my understanding you don't have an account already too so there's nothing to recover and nothing to compare with so unfortunately we can't do anything here. More so as its local only, we prefer not to act on the matter. Thanks, John (talk) 18:19, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

Please remove closure/ dormancy notice

Rationale: Previously I was using GitHub - https://github.com/genesisdotre/wiki/wiki - now I switched to Miraheze... The wiki is a collection of thoughts, ideas and I put a lot of effort into collecting them over time. Recently I've been preoccupied with life, universe and everything. Would be nice to remove the notice - and I'll carry on contributing - thank you! 31.51.90.226 11:56, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

Editing the wiki is enough to 'restart the timer' for the Dormancy Policy. The notice is placed by a script, and will not be added again until that time limit is passed again. However, this script does not remove the site notice just because a wiki is active (or it could remove local staff's legitimate notices). Just remove the notice yourself while logged in to an administrator account and that's all you have to do. Edit the page to be blank or a single hyphen ("-"), but you shouldn't delete the page. -- Cheers, NDKilla ( TalkContribs ) 13:13, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
You may simply delete your wiki's MediaWiki:Sitenotice and that should be sufficient for red card. — revi 11:07, 22 July 2016 (UTC)
@Stefek99: Usually these discussions are archived en-masse at a later point. Just because something is done doesn't mean you should remove it from the page, especially not if you aren't adding it to an archive page. -- Cheers, NDKilla ( TalkContribs ) 15:56, 29 July 2016 (UTC)

Wiki requested but not put into queue

Hello,

I am trying to create a wiki for my project "DLA to stars". I've filled the request form twice but when I click on submit I don't get any message window saying "request submitted" or similar, and the request can't seem to get into the wiki requests queue. Is there an error or is it just me not doing it properly?

Thanks Iprafols (talk) 07:46, 22 July 2016 (UTC)

Please use Special:RequestWiki and fill in all the information. Take a screenshot or copy/paste the message you get after clicking submit. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 07:53, 22 July 2016 (UTC)
Note: I have tried it and the request form works for me, so it isn't an error from Miraheze. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 08:05, 22 July 2016 (UTC)
@Iprafols: Make sure you don't use a hyphen in your subdomain name otherwise it won't work. This is what happened to me when I first tried it and all I got was a blank page. I tried it again without the hyphen and it worked straight away and the tracking page appeared. Maybe there should be a note added to the request a wiki page stating not to use hyphens in the subdomain name. Borderman  talk | contribs | email 09:33, 22 July 2016 (UTC)
We did not know about this error. We will try to fix it ASAP. As Boderman said, please request a wiki with no hyphens in it. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 09:50, 22 July 2016 (UTC)
The issue has been fixed. Please note that wikis with hyphens cannot be created! Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 10:08, 22 July 2016 (UTC)
I successfully managed to request de wiki after deleting the '-'s. Basically I changed the domain name from "DLA-to-stars" to "dlatostars". Thanks! Iprafols

Delete my wiki

Hi, guys. Unfortunately, I need to ask you to remove my wiki. We realize, that we can't get our goals without SMW extension. We want to thank you for all your help for our project and say goodbye.

Acknowledged. We're sorry we couldn't meet your needed for hosting. John (talk) 14:29, 22 July 2016 (UTC)

Problem including math formula to wiki

Hello,

I have encountered some errors when trying to add a math formula to a wiki page. Whenever I try to parse a mathematical formula I get the error "Failed to parse (PNG conversion failed; check for correct installation of latex and dvipng (or dvips + gs + convert)):"

Reading through the archived questions (Archive 2, question 43 ) I found that someone else already had the problem but it was fixed. Does this have to be fixed on a case-by-case wiki? If so, how can I implement the patch to my wiki page?

Thanks a lot, Iprafols (talk) 11:52, 24 July 2016 (UTC)

Hi, we fixed this (indeed), but this fix was removed. We've reapplied the fix now, so the problem should be fixed now. Southparkfan (talk) 13:00, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
It's fixed, thanks! Iprafols (talk) 14:16, 26 July 2016 (UTC)

Wiki request in review

I've requested a wiki to be created. Special:RequestWikiQueue/1521. I'm hoping that it can be approved soon as I would like to get started populating it with school notes. Is there anything more I need to provide to get approved? CodeAndStuff (talk) 08:09, 26 July 2016 (UTC)

I'm really sorry your request was missed. I created it now and you can access it here. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 08:16, 26 July 2016 (UTC)

Error report: Recurring problem maintaining session data

Hello!

When editing at ~09:00 ET, I get repeated "loss of session data" errors, to the point where I had to log out and log back in. However, when I try to log in after logging out, I get the error message "Login error Poser and Daz Free Resources uses cookies to log in users. You have cookies disabled. Please enable them and try again." (the wiki name varies depending on which wiki I am trying to edit), and continue to get that error until I delete my Miraheze cookies. I have cookies enabled.

This is the second day in a row that this has happened at about this time.

The sysadmins are aware of this error. It was caused by Tech:Misc2 (Redis) being down. The sysadmins are fixing it now. Sorry for the inconvenience Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 13:50, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
Our server provider seems to have some issues, Redis (software we use for the MediaWiki logins) is now on another server, until this problem is fixed. Southparkfan (talk) 13:53, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
Thanks. (And I see I forgot to sign the original error report - sorry about that.) --Robkelk (talk) 00:39, 27 July 2016 (UTC)

Deletion Request

Please delete wiki hftqms. Unfortunately for IP reasons this needs to be hosted internally to our company now. No reflection on the service provided by you guys - this has been a great platform to test what we wanted to do and convince management that a wiki could work for us, massively reducing the amount of paper shuffling!

Shusheer (talk) 14:30, 27 July 2016 (UTC)

@Shusheer: As deleting a wiki cannot be undone, and there are also multiple bureaucrats on your wiki: Can you please confirm here that you (on behalf of all local staff I guess) are requesting that the entire wiki be inaccessible and the contents of it destroyed forever, and that you understand this action cannot be undone? Would you like a backup of the wiki before it's deleted? -- Cheers, NDKilla ( TalkContribs ) 14:42, 27 July 2016 (UTC)

Making wiki private

Hiya, thanks for creating my wiki so fast! However, I checked the box "private wiki" (or maybe I forgot, I dunno^^"). Could you please make my wiki, pokelore, private? Thank you! MisterFlix (talk) 17:03, 4 August 2016 (UTC) Pages are access-restricted, but annonymus users appear to still be able to create an account. MisterFlix (talk) 17:18, 4 August 2016 (UTC)

Hello, unfortunately we can't prevent users from registering on your wiki, as we have a shared usersystem on Miraheze. Even though they are registered, they still can't view any content on your wiki, except your Main Page, login pages, etc. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 17:23, 4 August 2016 (UTC)

Okay, gotcha. Thanks for the quick response! MisterFlix (talk) 17:25, 4 August 2016 (UTC)

Please re-open mindladle.miraheze.org

Hi,

Could someone please re-open my wiki, mindladle.miraheze.org? I went travelling shortly after requesting the wiki to be opened and now that I'm back I'd like to get back to it.

Thanks in advance!

Please remove login tag and let me improve the wiki

Dears, Doman: https://sirikot.miraheze.org Please remove the login tag so i will make the wiki more better and do improvement, thanks

Hello, by the "login tag" I assume you mean the button that says "Login". Unfortunately, we cannot remove that as all Miraheze logins are on one database, so not letting users login/create accounts would be impossible. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 11:41, 5 August 2016 (UTC)
Note: I have also noticed that there is an inactivity warning (Mediawiki:Sitenotice) did you mean that? Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 11:43, 5 August 2016 (UTC)

Delete wiki

I do not think my wiki is going to work as I want it, I am rethinking my aims and methods. Could you please delete yggdrasil.miraheze.org, I will be back once I sort out how to do what I want. Thanks RhianG (talk) 09:06, 5 August 2016 (UTC)

Please confirm that you want us delete your wiki as this action is irreversible and all your content will be gone once the wiki is deleted. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 11:40, 5 August 2016 (UTC)

Yes I confirm this action, there is not much data there anyway and anything important is backed up.RhianG (talk) 07:52, 6 August 2016 (UTC)

Okay. It should be deleted soon. @NDKilla:

I just notice my wiki is still not deleted, could you please delete it soon.RhianG (talk) 12:51, 18 August 2016 (UTC)

Sorry about this. The wiki can no longer be accessed and it's database should be deleted shortly. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 03:49, 19 August 2016 (UTC)

Poser and Daz Free Resources: Category updates not appearing in category lists

Changes to pages' categories and categories on new pages are not showing up in the Category lists on Poser and Daz Free Resources. (Example: https://poserdazfreebies.miraheze.org/wiki/Floral_Crown and https://poserdazfreebies.miraheze.org/wiki/Category:3DFineries , but all updates are not being made at least since yesterday.) Are category updates being cached and made in bulk? --Robkelk (talk) 14:14, 7 August 2016 (UTC)

I just noticed this is also (not) happening on All The Tropes as well. --Robkelk (talk) 16:27, 7 August 2016 (UTC)

Hi, this is a known issue and is being caused because our jobqueue had stopped running. We've restarted it and the issue should resolve itself shortly.
Cheers, -- Corey (talk) 16:56, 7 August 2016 (UTC)
@Robkelk: This is a known issue being tracked here. Unfortunately it's still on-going. -- Cheers, NDKilla ( TalkContribs ) 22:45, 10 August 2016 (UTC)

All The Tropes: Category updates not appearing in category lists

Categories have stopped updating on All The Tropes again today. Presumably the same cause?

Thank you! -- Looney Toons (talk) 00:27, 9 August 2016 (UTC)

I have noticed this and created a task here. I will see if it is the jobqueue and if I can restart. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 04:34, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
I've restarted the jobs and it seems to be working on wikis now. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 04:53, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
Once again, thank you. -- Looney Toons (talk) 12:24, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
Please note that the issue is not fixed yet, and we are still trying to figure it out. You can see the task for any updates on the issue. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 17:32, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
I noticed the same problem three days ago on my own wiki after uploading some images with categories but the category was empty. The category has since been populated with the image pages but the article page has not yet appeared. It was the same yesterday using the ReplaceText extension, again with no effect - the replacement text hasn't appeared as yet. Jobs certainly seem to be a bit hit and miss and by the look of the task page it seems to be causing you guys some grief. Good luck with finding a solution. Borderman  talk | contribs | email 11:18, 11 August 2016 (UTC)
I don't know if this is related, but I noticed tonight that "What Links Here" results aren't updating even after links or even entire pages are deleted. -- Looney Toons (talk) 02:13, 12 August 2016 (UTC)
Yes, I think this is related. We are trying everything we can to fix this issue, and we hope it is fixed ASAP. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 04:12, 12 August 2016 (UTC)
On my wiki at ZGradeTennis, I see that it's updated the What Links Here, although not immediately, and it's updated one of my Wanted Categories but not the other. I don't know if this helps you find the solution quicker? PlatinumYellow (talk) 23:35, 12 August 2016 (UTC)

Possible DB error on All The Tropes?

We have three pages on our New Pages Feed (https://allthetropes.org/wiki/Special:NewPagesFeed) that we cannot mark as reviewed. When we try, we get an error message in the following form:

An error occurred while marking the page as reviewed: [17d418565804d01bd8c883a6] Exception Caught: Cannot notify anonymous user: 73.33.196.34

The three pages so affected are:

all in the Main namespace.

In all three cases the user who created the page is not anonymous but a registered user, although one is blocked. The more technically inclined of ATT's admins believe it to be a database issue. Could someone please investigate it? Thank you. -- Looney Toons (talk) 02:11, 16 August 2016 (UTC)

@Looney Toons: Note that I've given myself local sysop to experiment. Not sure what rights are required, but the reviewer interface would not load for me as a normal user. I'll remove it when I'm done. Looking at the databases page and revision tables, it seems normal, I'm going to look at the exception logs. -- Cheers, NDKilla ( TalkContribs ) 02:30, 16 August 2016 (UTC)
@Looney Toons and Labster: Note that this is probably 1) an echo issue 2) something related to our central auth (and possibly the very recent upgrade of the extension). I noticed when I tried to review the page I got the same error, but a different IP. Upon checking, the IP in the error message is my public IP, so I'm assuming the above is Looney's. MultimediaViewer extension not rendering images

I was wondering if anyone could shed some light as to why the MultimediaViewer extension is not rendering any images on thelonsdalebattalion.co.uk. Clicking on an image opens the viewer, then the image sometimes appears for about 1 second then I get this message:

Sorry the file cannot be displayed. There seems to be a technical issue. You can retry or report the issue if it persists. Error: could not load image from https://static.miraheze.org/thelonsdalebattalionwiki/1/13/Colonel_The_Right_Hon._Earl_of_Lonsdale.jpg/800px-Colonel_The_Right_Hon._Earl_of_Lonsdale.jpg

It looks like it is trying to find a preview size of 800px (and 1280px for another image) that doesn't exist. Small images less than 800px also don't render. Retrying doesn't work and I have tried Safari (my main browser), Chrome and Firefox to no avail. I also tried the Vector skin as it is not my default skin and that didn't work either. Enabling it in preferences doesn't stay ticked. Maybe this has happened before. Any suggestions please? Thanks. Borderman  talk | contribs | email 13:27, 24 August 2016 (UTC)

That is not normal. This will be investigated. Next time please report on phabricator where it is now being tracked. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 13:39, 24 August 2016 (UTC)
This was my fault as I forgot to set something in the settings. Should be fixed now. Still happening Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 13:54, 24 August 2016 (UTC)
@Reception123: Sorry, I will use phabricator next time. Something seems to be working. I have noticed some images now render but oddly there are still a lot that don't. Most, if not all, of the smaller images I uploaded today of 100kb or less don't render and I thought using parentheses might have been the cause as all of those images use them in their titles. But this is not the case. There doesn't seem to be any rule as to which ones render and which ones don't. Borderman  talk | contribs | email 17:06, 24 August 2016 (UTC)
Update: It seems to work fine on mobile devices (iPad and iPhone) but as of now about one third of the images don't render on the desktop. Borderman  talk | contribs | email 15:06, 25 August 2016 (UTC)
Update: All images are now rendering correctly. John said the issue was probably cache related. It took about 36 hours in total for all uploaded images to appear in the viewer. Borderman  talk | contribs | email 23:07, 25 August 2016 (UTC)

Categories not updating again?

On Zgradetennis, the categories don't seem to be updating again, I was wondering if this is an ongoing issue related the one above, or if it's a new issue and when if it's likely to be resolved soon? PlatinumYellow (talk) 22:37, 28 August 2016 (UTC)

Likewise on poserdazfreebies. Has jobqueue stopped again? (The phabricator ticket from the last time this happened is marked as Resolved.) --Robkelk (talk) 00:10, 29 August 2016 (UTC)
@PlatinumYellow and Robkelk: Probably an issue with jobrunner. I've restarted it and the total number has of jobs has gone down, so if the issue hasn't resolved for you it should shortly. -- Cheers, NDKilla ( TalkContribs ) 01:51, 29 August 2016 (UTC)

Not done Unfortunately, usernames on Miraheze are all linked (you are Gordonuk on all Miraheze wikis). If you change your name, you change your name on all wikis. Losing session data and keep being logged out

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone else was experiencing some strange behaviour on their wikis. I have been editing on and off most of the afternoon/evening but in the last couple of hours I have noticed I keep losing my sessions. It has been hit and miss, sometimes it is fine and other times I have to keep logging back in again, sometimes three or four times. It will show 'guest' but at the same time show my 'preferences', 'watchlist', 'contributions' and 'logout'. Some of the message I have seen whilst apparently logged in have been:

You do not have permission to edit this page, for the following reasons:
The action you have requested is limited to users in the group: Administrators.
The Lonsdale Battalion has restricted the ability to create new pages. You can go back and edit an existing page, or log in or create an account.

And...

Sorry! We could not process your edit due to a loss of session data.

readable --> unreadable main page

Greetings. A newly created private wiki's Main Page is readable to the world. I'd appreciate it if you could please make it unreadable to all except users logged-in to the specific wiki. That wiki is: 5a.miraheze.org Thank you!

Global Rename Request

My Name is 아름불휘. Before Global account rename It has requested. But, Request name Status is "Queued". How much is time?--61.255.86.152 10:11, 14 September 2016 (UTC)

Request name change for wiki

We have the following wiki: https://umod.miraheze.org/wiki/Main_Page

We have not been using the wiki much so far but that is about to change.

When we first started, the name of the group was going to be "umod" but now the name will be Alliance of Genome Resources (AGR).

We'd like to change the name of the wiki from "umod" to "agr"

Is this possible?

Thanks,

Carol Bult

I'm sorry but that is not possible at the moment. If you have a lot of data we can move it to your new wiki. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 16:43, 15 September 2016 (UTC)

@Reception123: Thanks for the quick feedback. Then we should take down the existing wiki and stand up a new one with a new name-- "AGRwiki".We don't have much content at all yet on the existing site so nothing important will be lost by deleting the account named "umod".

So do you confirm that you want "umodwiki" to be deleted? This action is irreversible and all content will be deleted. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 18:01, 20 September 2016 (UTC)

Please don't take umod down yet. let me create the new wiki first and move a tiny bit of content there. Thanks! Jak (talk) 18:26, 20 September 2016 (UTC)

New User login creation error

I have the following wiki: https://sapperpedia.miraheze.org/wiki/Main_Page

However, when a new user tries to join by selecting "Create account" or "Join Sapperpedia" from the Login screen, both return the message:

"The action you have requested is limited to users in one of the groups: Administrators, member." I cannot make them a member until they join, but they cannot join without being a member.

Could you advise?

Thanks in advance Metafourzero (talk) 07:38, 21 September 2016 (UTC)

This should not happen, but try creating the account on Meta, then logging into the wiki and then adding the user as a member. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 16:06, 21 September 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for the tip. It does work if they register at meta - but I would have to tell them the workaround first. If someone tried to create an account from my home page, then they get the error message and then just don't register. It didn't used to be like this. It seems the "create account" page has now been restricted to a user group instead of being visible to all. Can it be restored or fixed?Metafourzero (talk) 18:48, 21 September 2016 (UTC)
@Metafourzero: Based on our settings, this was actually expected, and I'm surprised no one pointed it out before. anonymous users have the 'createaccount' right, but on private wikis they were forbidden from reading 'Special:CreateAccount' I've added this page to the global read-whitelist (it's readable by everyone on all wikis, no matter what other settings are configured) so this should now work as intended on your wiki. -- Cheers, NDKilla ( TalkContribs ) 19:03, 21 September 2016 (UTC)

Request for interwiki linking

I don't know if this is the right place for this, but I would like to have an interwiki link between adia.project and Adia Pedia. My preferred prefixes would be "ar" for adia.project and "ap" for Adia Pedia. Thanks! Rajavlitra (talk) 01:27, 23 September 2016 (UTC)

@Rajavlitra: have you tried editing Special:Interwiki on your wiki? Local administrators should be able to do it. All wikis use Meta Wiki's interwiki list, but your shortcuts probably shouldn't exist on all wikis. -- Cheers, NDKilla ( TalkContribs ) 13:11, 23 September 2016 (UTC)

Login/Access/Weird Issue in All The Tropes

On the past couple of weeks, I have been unable to see All The Tropes while logged in and in desktop mode. I can log in, access to the site and make editions to the wiki, as long as I do on Mobile mode. It's the only wiki in Miraheze where I have that problem. I've tested in several several browsers and the ones who doesn't give me a white screen give me a screen claiming error 500 when I log in in desktop mode. I'm not sure if it is a bug or something wrong on my configurations. What can be done here? Lequinni (talk) 15:23, 27 September 2016 (UTC)

@Lequinni: ATT appears to be working for now. There appear to have been sporadic issues with the job queue over there, and it put a lot of load on one of our servers for an extended period of time. During this time the 5xx errors started showing up but should have completely recovered by now. Please let me know if you see the error again, and if possible an exact timestamp of when it happened (include your timezone). It makes finding server logs easier. -- Cheers, NDKilla ( TalkContribs ) 15:55, 27 September 2016 (UTC)
I have just logged again from Vivaldi, and I have the same error. It was around 10:40 UTC -4. Lequinni (talk) 14:47, 28 September 2016 (UTC)

Issue

I have had no recent downtime. However, I have an issue:

Global Notice: Miraheze would like to appologize to anyone who noticed recent downtime. There were technical difficulties renewing a SSL certificate for one of our wikis and one of our two servers temporarily became inaccessible. All issues should be resolved now, please email staff or leave a message here if you are still experiencing issues.

  • @Anjuna: You mean you have distrubed with global notice? We have recently down with server. And you have problem with your wiki, you can explain at here. Maybe global notice can show two weeks. :)TriX (talk) 13:21, 5 October 2016 (UTC)

Wanted Categories

I'm not sure if it's an issue, I've tried to correct and see what pages are in one of my categories called Page Count by creating the category again, but as there doesn't seem to be any categories attached to it, I'm not sure what the issue is exactly, any help would be appreciated. PlatinumYellow (talk) 11:54, 8 October 2016 (UTC)

@PlatinumYellow: to the best of my knowledge deleting and recreating the category page won't do anything. If you're talking about the pages in that category not showing up, that's probably the job queue. Purge the individual pages, give it time, and let us know if you still have an issue. -- Cheers, NDKilla ( TalkContribs ) 13:56, 8 October 2016 (UTC)
I have no idea which pages they are, because when I click on the category nothing shows up, I do apologise as I did make an error in my original comment I meant to say that there are no pages attached to it. PlatinumYellow (talk) 21:40, 8 October 2016 (UTC)

No admin in own wiki

Hi

I am very new to miraheze. I created an user account, z3001x, and requested for a wiki which was created by TriX, quickly 4 days ago. Thanks a bunch for the approval of my request and creating the wiki! The wiki-URL is https://lucilekbt.miraheze.org/wiki/

Sadly, when I try to go to this URL while I am logged in, I get an error saying that I am not authorized because I am not a member of the Administrators group of this wiki.

So I can't edit my own wiki. :-(

Could you please grant me admin rights for this wiki or tell me what else I have to do to be able to add content to the wiki.

Also I want to grant someone else rights to edit the wiki.

Thx a lot Chris (z3001x)

For the record this backlog used to go longer than a week sometimes with like 25 or more wikis in the queue. I for one am happy that our volunteers have been doing an extremely good job keeping the backlog down and handling these requests quickly. Honestly the feature request backlog has been way worse than wiki creation backlog atm, so.. not too worried about the wiki time o; hopefully it stays (on average) as good as it has been lately. -- Cheers, NDKilla ( TalkContribs ) 23:06, 15 October 2016 (UTC)

mathpuzzles.miraheze.org and matheraetsel.miraheze.org

Is there any way to improve the rendering of <math> formulas? I would be willing to donate for a server upgrade / renting more cpu time.

I have tried to add a collection of math formulas to those wikis but ended up assembing them with plain HTML where possible. That approach quickly hits its limits. I have finally found the "bug" reports about these problems with comments that it can take a few hours for a formula to render. Not a good situation if you try to write down a math proof riddled with formulas.

I am having trouble opening the following page on my lionhearttales wiki: Template:Infobox officeholder. The associated subpages are both working fine, but the page itself will not open. If I manually type the URL to edit the page into the browser it does open the browser window but doesn't seem to be saving. When I use the template on another page, it seems to work but adds a extra

tag pair for no apparent reason. In Firefox, the page simply stops loading and the screen remains blank white, but when I tried to open the page in Chrome it said their was an HTTP 500 error. I noticed that another person had an issue on their wiki with a page of the same name and am wondering if the issue is related.

WikiCanada dead

Request global lock/ban username "missile" on meta

Recently the user named "대공미사일" attacked my wiki(jayuwiki.miraheze.org/) Although there are only three "contribs" in my wiki, there may be several logs in AbuseFilterLog (link) I suspect this user abusing in other wikis(Refer to - here or Here(In addition the (suspected) user abused the wiki with using more than 10 accounts) or Here) with various accounts.

Therefore, I ask you for these:

  1. Please block all the accounts containing the keyword "미사일" in whole meta site and add the keyword "미?일", "밋?일", "뮈?일", "미?이루", "밋?이루", "ㅁㅣㅅ" in the account blacklist. (? Means an arbitrary character, either Korean or the other)
  2. Please check the ip of such abused accounts and block these "IP"s. If it turns out that these IP are for Open proxy, VPS or mobile network, please block whole ips in the same CIDR.
@Utolee90: There is nothing we can do about the two last wikis you mentioned (osawiki and modoo.ml) as there are not part of Miraheze. As for the IPs a CheckUser will be performed by a steward if they think it is necessary and they will take the necessary actions. As for blacklisting names I am not sure how or if this works, but you could try something with Special:AbuseFilter. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 10:59, 27 December 2016 (UTC)

GIPB-Exemptions

Hi @NDKilla: @John:(I'm sorry for ping). I want to request about global ipblock-exemptions for myaccount. MT7 (talk) 05:56, 30 December 2016 (UTC)

H1 vs. MT7

I know this is going to sound weird coming from me, but I would like to request that user accounts H1 and MT7 be compared via CheckUser. I have reason to believe that they are the same user, as the extremely poor spelling and grammar patters appear to be identical or close to identical in 95% of their contributions. Amanda (talk) 02:29, 31 December 2016 (UTC)

The accounts aren't really being used abusivly or to deceive and with nothing exceptional to prove - there's very little to be gained from a CU or confirmation of account ownership. So  Not done John (talk) 02:34, 31 December 2016 (UTC)

Privacy Policy

I know CU and OS tools are currently declined to local wiki founders, but I just wanted to bring up something that has been mentioned before.

In Phabricator T1002, @NDKilla: wrote in reply to my cousin (MatthewPW): "If and when we get a privacy policy that affects all wikis, you might be able to get CU or OS to use the tools yourself, but you will never be allowed to grant the rights to other users (unless you become a Steward, and anything else that implies)."

Does this have any ghost of a chance of happening? I understand if it doesn't, but I just wanted to check. Amanda (talk) 02:58, 31 December 2016 (UTC)

Yes. They're community tools for bettering the community and would be assigned with strong community consensus. While that's yet to be made formal, at least 20 votes at 80% support ratio would be the minimum. John (talk) 11:03, 31 December 2016 (UTC)
@John: Are you referring to the global community or the local community that would be affected? Amanda (talk) 13:02, 31 December 2016 (UTC)
Well the local community as they are local rights. The global view only matters for global rights. Though views from globally active users may be considered if voiced locally. Rights probably won't be assigned until a global policy is established which would be the global community view. John (talk) 13:20, 31 December 2016 (UTC)

Useable images

In the new year, I'm going to be looking at adding more images to my wiki as images of players would obviously be helpful, and maps as an example, but I'm unsure exactly what I can use and how I can use it when looking at certain copyright terms, any assistance would be greatly appreciated. @PlatinumYellow: Unless you requested a change specific to your wiki, Miraheze wikis (except the ones here) are licensed under CC BY SA 3.0. For the actual uploading you can either use Special:Upload or you can request MsUpload if you need to upload multiple images. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 14:19, 31 December 2016 (UTC)

WikiCreator

So that I've returned to the realm, can I get the WikiCreator hat back? — revi 21:10, 31 December 2016 (UTC)

@Revi: Wiki creators are assigned at the discretion of any sysadmin, so feel free to assign the rights to yourself! Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 21:13, 31 December 2016 (UTC)
Buttons don't work for me, otherwise I would have done so. — revi 21:15, 31 December 2016 (UTC)
@Revi: You need to go to this page, and check the box labeled "userrights" (on my device, it's in the right column near the bottom). After you save that, go to Special:UserRights and assign the wiki creator to yourself. MT7 vs NDKILLA

I know you are ignore me at irc. When I ask some questions you can't answer and if I left the channel you rise to talk with other user. It's not good idea. I want we can be friendly not for descriminative. Cheers @NDKilla: and also ping @John: for judge about this case. MT7 (talk) 01:39, 3 January 2017 (UTC)

@MT7: Personally I don't think there's a VS or anything here to judge. Instead of communicating with other staff members about issues, you queried me on IRc and asked things I find kind of inappropriate and creepy. I respectfully asked you to stop private messaging me and to bring up issues with other staff members. You continued to message me things I find even creepier up until the point where I ignored your hostmask. (I'd rather the pm logs not be made public). There's three Stewards, personally I think you can find somebody else to help you. Not like I'm /ignoring you on wiki. -- Cheers, NDKilla ( TalkContribs ) 01:54, 3 January 2017 (UTC)

Elements Wiki spambots

Yesterday, my wiki (elements.miraheze.org) suffered a spambot attack. @NDKilla: globally locked all of the accounts, but apparently that was not enough. Today, two more spambot attacks occurred. Would this be one of the instances where I could be granted local CU/OS in order to clean up the damage without having to need Steward intervention? --- DeltaQuad (talk contribs email), 17:06, 3 January 2017 (UTC)

CUOS is delegated based on a community consensus at least fulfilling the requirement for steward appointment. I can investigate the account matter if you wish me to however. John (talk) 17:07, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
Please check the most recent accounts, and email me the IP addresses. I will block them locally to prevent any more from being created. Also, please globally lock all of the spambots. I will take care of the local deletion, reverting, etc. --- DeltaQuad (talk contribs email), 17:12, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
Also please oversight the usernames, if technically possible. --- DeltaQuad (talk contribs email), 17:16, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
I've ran a CheckUser and dealt with the accounts globally. I've also globally blocked an IP range associated with an entire ISP that the accounts have used scattered randomly. The accounts don't seem to meet the requirements for oversighting therefore I have no done so. I am also not at liberty to reveal exact IPs however the global blocks I have done cover from the lowest to the highest in the range of usages. John (talk) 17:55, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
I RevDel'd the user account creation logs. For some reason, there is no RevDel available on Special:ListUsers. --- DeltaQuad (talk contribs email), 18:07, 3 January 2017 (UTC)

Please confirm that you have read the wiki creators guide on this wiki and that you understand it. -- Cheers, NDKilla ( TalkContribs ) 20:18, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
@NDKilla: I confirm. Basically: access the request, click the button to the createwiki form, verify that there aren't any errors - notably hyphens in domains, create the wiki and make sure that the founder has bureaucrat access, and notify the user that the wiki was created. --- DeltaQuad (talk contribs email), 20:30, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
@NDKilla: Can you please respond to my request, especially because it looks like my RFS is going down the drain? --- DeltaQuad (talk contribs email), 02:18, 5 January 2017 (UTC)

Done by a puppy. John (talk) 22:05, 6 January 2017 (UTC)
@John: These are minor things, but, when reviewing a wiki request, what do I do with a description written in a foreign language in terms of verifying that it is appropriate? Also, if a user requests a "private" wiki, a). How do I do that, and b). How do I make sure that the bureaucrat exists and that the main page exists if the wiki is private? --- DeltaQuad (talk contribs email), 00:39, 7 January 2017 (UTC)
First off, the main page (among a few other things) is always visible on private wikis. Second, you can view if the wiki requestor is a crat by using Special:CentralAuth/Username. For example, viewing Special:CentralAuth/Void shows where I have rights, this includes private wikis (although I don't actually have any rights on any private wiki). Finally, on Special:CreateWiki, there is a button that says "Mark this wiki as private". -- Void Whispers 01:38, 7 January 2017 (UTC)
@Void: Thank you, although that doesn't answer my first question, which was how do I verify that a wiki description written in a foreign language is appropriate content? --- DeltaQuad (talk contribs email), 02:25, 7 January 2017 (UTC)
You know... Learn that language or rely on the mighty Google. Or if there are knowledgable people, leave it to them. — revi 03:17, 7 January 2017 (UTC)

I need a CSR to set up my SSL

Thank you for setting up my wiki!

I have set up the CNAME as specified in the Custom Domain instructions, so now I'm trying to set up the SSL that I purchased for this. I bought it from SSLS.com, and it's asking for a CSR to activate the certificate. This is the information page they have about it. It says I will need this from the host, and since you guys are the host... is this something you can provide so I can finish setting up this wiki?

http://helpdesk.ssls.com/hc/en-us/articles/203226631-What-is-CSR-

Thanks again!

Exemption Request

Hello

I request exemption from dormancy for my wiki https://softwarecrisis.miraheze.org/wiki/Main_Page

It fits under this category: "Wikis made to be read, where a lot of information is already on wiki and doesn't need to be actively edited."

Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rain1 (talkcontribs) 22:00, 5 January 2017‎ (UTC)

Unmerge global accounts

Hi, as I am wiki creator now, I will end up having a lot of global accounts on the wikis that I create. Therefore, at this time, please unmerge/unlink all of my accounts listed in Special:CentralAuth/DeltaQuad that meet both of the following criteria:

  • There are 0 contributions to the wiki, and
  • I am not a member of any elevated groups on the wiki.

I tried to do this myself, but for some reason Special:UnlinkAccounts allows me to access the page, but when I click submit, it throws an internal technical error. --- DeltaQuad (talk contribs email), 18:55, 7 January 2017 (UTC)

Same thing for me. Will open a Phabricator task for this. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 09:57, 8 January 2017 (UTC)
I'm not sure what this will gain. Having accounts on other wikis mean nothing. — revi 10:03, 8 January 2017 (UTC)
Never mind - I didn't realize that the special page I was trying to access doesn't do what I want. I have stated my request above, could a steward please enact it as soon as possible? Thanks. --- DeltaQuad (talk contribs email), 02:14, 10 January 2017 (UTC)

Unattaching/unlinking will cause more confusion than any benefit because it will still show up in the CA as 'unattached accounts', IIRC from the wikimedia. — revi 07:55, 10 January 2017 (UTC)

Now I can see the example what happens if your request is done: Special:CentralAuth/ServantRules (archiveis). (Point: see the loginwiki) Once created, it's there on CA forever. — revi 17:35, 10 January 2017 (UTC)

Visual Editor keeps destroying <comments /> tag

When clicking on "Edit" on foodsharinghamburg-Wiki, the visual editor opens. After editing and saving, the <comments /> tag (which is needed for the comments plugin) is changed to <comments></comments> - which does not show the comments section. I have to edit the source every time an edit has been made to fix this.

Example: https://foodsharinghamburg.miraheze.org/wiki/Protokoll_Hamburger_foodsharing_Plenum_Januar_2017

I think it's a problem with auto-syntax by visual editor. Maybe there is a blacklist with html-Tags that are not to be autocompleted by the visual editor?

Global rename request

I think the best way to resolve this crisis is to request a global rename of my Miraheze CentralAuth and my Phabricator accounts. I will rename my GitHub account once my Phabricator account has been renamed. Please rename all of my Miraheze-related accounts to User:Lawrence-Prairies (If you're curious where that name came from, it's the two rivers surrounding the Island of Montreal). --- DeltaQuad (talk contribs email), 13:00, 10 January 2017 (UTC)

Comment:This user has attempted to be named as a Steward twice and has attempted to change the rules on who gets access to the CheckUser tool twice, all in the last six weeks. Is this rename request an attempt by the user to cover his or her tracks so that he or she can try to get access to CheckUser again? --Robkelk (talk) 14:17, 10 January 2017 (UTC)
Done The MediaWiki account has been globally renamed. As you have used the phabricator account, it can not be renamed unfortunately. Creating a new account is the only way to use the new name on Phabricator. John (talk) 19:50, 10 January 2017 (UTC)
@John: It will not allow me to create a new account because the DQ username is still linked via MediaWiki. Even if I log out of Phabricator and revoke access via OAuth, it still logs me back in under the old name after I re-authorize the application. Why is there no "register new account" button on the login screen like Phacility Phabricators have? --- Lawrence-Prairies (talk contribs email), 20:12, 10 January 2017 (UTC)
We don't allow accounts to be created without being linked to a Miraheze account. I've removed the external account entry from the database so Phabricator should no longer associate the Miraheze account with the Phabricator one. John (talk) 20:28, 10 January 2017 (UTC)

As you can see, I had a conduct dispute. Then Robkelk reverted a lot of my changes. I tried asking him if there was some sort of content-related reason why he did this, but I couldn't because GethN7 blocked me indefinitely, claiming I'd abused multiple accounts. I object. I only have the one account, and I did not abuse it. Saline (talk) 10:42, 18 January 2017 (UTC)

I am not a steward, and will leave the final word on this to a steward but generally stewards to do not intervene in community matters. Hi Stewards,

I just saw the notice that our wiki vegactive.miraheze.org is going to be put dormant for inactivity. Our group, Vegactive, only has meetings once a month and so it's easy for us to stay inactive for some periods of time. Also, we've already uploaded our general basics and thus haven't added new articles for the last few months.

Thank you! Annalena

Image upload warning for new registered user

I was just wondering if anyone knows why this warning message appears on the upload screen after attempting to upload an image: Warning: This action has been automatically identified as harmful. Unconstructive edits will be quickly reverted, and egregious or repeated unconstructive editing will result in your account or IP address being blocked. If you believe this action to be constructive, you may submit it again to confirm it. A brief description of the abuse rule which your action matched is: Uploading on Meta The user is uploading to my wiki (he sent me a screenshot) and I just tried it on a test user account and I, too, get the same message. What does it mean and what needs to be done to prevent it? Thanks. Borderman  talk | contribs | email 20:18, 4 February 2017 (UTC)

I realised I was using an abuse filter for image uploads (based on one from Meta), which I completely forgot about because I was the only one uploading images so it didn't matter. I have disabled it for now until I can configure it properly. Borderman  talk | contribs | email 01:03, 5 February 2017 (UTC)

I requested and was approved for worldbuilding.miraheze.org, but then I learned that it already existed. Two things. One, there is a high priority VisualEditor issue that should be addressed as soon as possible. Second, I have found two tasks that appear to have been created by a compromised account, one of which is making threats against Miraheze. I'm not sure how to handle either the VisualEditor issue or the issue with the potentially compromised account, so I'll leave it to the stewards and sysadmins to (hopefully) figure out. Hello Miraheze people,

Our printmakingbe.miraheze.org wiki has received a dormancy message. The students (yes its for a printmaking workshop) only edit a little, but read it quite often. Is it possible to keep it running?

Many thanks,

Pierre

Please, don't log the fablac's wiki.

Hello,

My name is Sophie. I'm in charge of the fablac's wiki (https://fablac.miraheze.org/wiki/Accueil). I would like to save our wiki. It's precious for the students of La Cambre (visuals arts school in Brussels). Is it possible to reactivate it?

Thanks you very much. Best regards, Sophie

Please delete my wiki

Experiencing login issues

Has anyone else has login issues, or is it just me? I attempted to login earlier on my Lonsdale Battalion wiki but it would not work. Instead, the following messages appeared:
Central user log in: No active login attempt is in progress for your session then after trying again swiftly followed by The provided authentication token is either expired or invalid yet I was able to login on Meta. It still says 'Guest' on my wiki but a floating message then said "Central login You are centrally logged in. Reload this page to apply user settings." But reloading/refreshing the page doesn't do anything and the message reappears. I have spent the last couple of weeks writing articles, one of which I was going to post but can't. Any idea what's going on? Thanks. Borderman  talk | contribs | email 19:51, 23 February 2017 (UTC)

We are aware of these login issues and we are now working on a way to fix them (details). Please try to log in again, and it should work. We hope to fix these issues ASAP. If not please try logging into https://login.miraheze.org and then going on your wiki. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 19:59, 23 February 2017 (UTC)
The server migration is now done, and there should be no further login issues. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 07:54, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
@Reception123: I just tried again but am having the same problem as last night. I can login on Meta but I still get Central user log in No active login attempt is in progress for your session followed by the floating "central login" message. It still says "Guest" on my wiki. Borderman  talk | contribs | email 09:08, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
@Borderman: Please try clearing your cookies. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 09:10, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
@Reception123: That didn't work. Tried Safari, Chrome and Firefox. Still the same problem. Borderman  talk | contribs | email 09:42, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
Also, it won't let me create a new alternative account. I get the same message for account creation too. Bit gutted, had planned to get a lot done today. Borderman  talk | contribs | email 10:56, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
I know I said this before, but now it should really be resolved. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 17:44, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
I'll back this up as I could reproduce your issues 100% of the time before I made a change and now I can't reproduce it at all. Apologies, John (talk) 17:45, 24 February 2017 (UTC)

Reset indent. @Reception123 and John: Many thanks for sorting that out, appreciate the fix. I have just checked and can now login again, cheers. Borderman  talk | contribs | email 17:53, 24 February 2017 (UTC)

For what it's worth I had that issue with ATT a few days back. LulzKiller (talk) 20:45, 25 February 2017 (UTC)

Hi, would appreciate if biblicalwiki.miraheze.org is added to the exceptions list as it is meant to be read and used for research purposes. Thank you. Cat (talk)

Suitable extension for multiple file uploads

I have a general enquiry about file uploads so apologies if this is not the correct place. I would like to upload a relatively large number of images to my wiki and multiple uploads would save me a lot of time. Are there any suggestions as to which would be a suitable extension for this task? I know there is MsUpload in the Miraheze extension list, but is it any good? I would like to add different summaries, licenses and categories to each image in the bulk upload and having seen the Wikimedia Commons uploader - UploadWizard - thought this would be suitable, but it's not in the Miraheze tested extensions list. This is not a request for that extension, I am just enquiring as to whether either of those extensions would do what I am looking for, thanks. +2000 Wikis = Yippee! And yet number of "Helpful people" went down!!

First let me state what an honor it is to be part of this meteoric rise of a wiki farm. To witness something that defies the laws of nature and sustainability is humbling to say the least.

I'm astonished, nonetheless, to know that the number of Miraheze staff has either been constant or dwindling over the last 12 months. Moreover, I see no sign, literally anywhere, of any need for an increase in manpower which is usually the logical balancing act to a speedy growth. If it was up to my silly and foolish judgment, I'd have a banner throughout the meta site and especially on the homepage in bold font clearly listing all vacancies needed to be filled.

This is entirely a mere congratulatory observation, and shouldn't be interpreted that I, at any rate, had been waiting for months on re qu es t s to be dealt with. Not at all. Not on Miraheze.

Adoption/reopen page not saving

I'm trying to reopen http://lawtonfamilystories.miraheze.org/wiki/Main_Page but the attempt to save reports an unknown error. Is there a solution? TIA. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BruceLawton (talkcontribs) 21:05, 3 March 2017‎ (UTC)

What specific kind of error are you getting? I've reopened the wiki btw. -- Void Whispers 21:16, 3 March 2017 (UTC)

Doing edits to Hiddenhistory.miraheze.org now

I'm doing edits to hiddenhistory.miraheze.org now. Will the inactivity warning banner be removed automatically later? I went to the banner source like the notice says but I cannot edit it.

Thanks. Bulrush (talk) 12:43, 6 March 2017 (UTC)

Only administrators can edit interface messages. I'll delete it for now, but I'm wondering how that wiki has no administrators or crats? -- Cheers, NDKilla ( TalkContribs ) 13:46, 6 March 2017 (UTC)
Weird--nothing in the logs for access removal either. GFN (talk) 17:16, 6 March 2017 (UTC)
I have found Special:RequestWikiQueue/2116. Possibly there was an error and the founder was not assigned. I would proceed with adding the rights but I would like to make sure that they have not been removed intentionally or by request first. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 17:33, 6 March 2017 (UTC)
This appears to be the case, as the local account for Bulrush was created almost a full day after the wiki itself (I believe they are created instantaneously when crat is automatically assigned). That, and there is no corresponding userrights log on the wiki, or meta. I'd recommend assigning the rights. -- Void Whispers 20:14, 6 March 2017 (UTC)

Well, I'm the founder and I thought I was automatically given the role of founder and admin when the wiki was created. If I'm not the founder, or admin, can someone add me to those roles please? Thanks. Bulrush (talk) 11:27, 7 March 2017 (UTC)

@Bulrush:  Done -- Cheers, NDKilla ( TalkContribs ) 15:51, 7 March 2017 (UTC)

Global blocks

Wow, that is a lot of global blocks. Never thought there could be that many spammers in the world. I guess that may help explain why my new wiki was vandalized literally a few hours after creation. The Leagues (talk) 23:36, 21 March 2017 (UTC)

It's not a lot of spammers, it's just one. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 15:40, 22 March 2017 (UTC)

Using mw.wikibase in Lua module

Hello, is it possible to use mw.wikibase.getEntityObject() in miraheze.org Module pages? Because I am getting this kind of error: Lua error in Module:Coordinates/sandbox at line 601: attempt to index field 'wikibase' (a nil value). Do I need to request this feature?--Zygimantus (talk) 20:55, 27 March 2017 (UTC)

  • Hi, we're not really interested in setting up a Wikibase server, as it's way overkill for most of our wikis. It's a service designed to host lots of data from many wikimedia wikis, so it's not really appropriate to our scale. I'd suggest rewriting the modules to avoid using mw.wikibase. --Labster (talk) 21:48, 27 March 2017 (UTC)
Hi, thank you for your answer!--Zygimantus (talk) 16:52, 28 March 2017 (UTC)

Editor on wiki

I didn't realize the 6-month no-edit policy for wikis. I asked to adopt my wiki again (https://cass.miraheze.org), and the request status is "Done". However, I cannot edit any pages on the wiki. Chiefgeek157 (talk) 01:19, 28 March 2017 (UTC)

Seems like the wiki wasn't actually opened. It is now. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 05:30, 28 March 2017 (UTC)

Deletion of Wiki

Howdy! I'm the bureaucrat/admin/creator of two Wikis, one of which was created to fix a typo in the original submission.

At this time, the wiki under https://rhiliannexud.miraheze.org/wiki/Main_Page is no longer necessary, and I have removed all the content that needed to be transferred to the new URL. It is safe to be deleted. Thanks. Kin Ele Tic (talk) 14:46, 29 March 2017 (UTC)

Special:AbuseFilter/11

Can someone make this filter apply to account creations only? Otherwise, I've noticed that we are getting way too many false positives in the past day to justify having the filter. Cheers -- Void Whispers 02:44, 1 April 2017 (UTC)

@Void: I'm not sure if the parts added to the filter are needed at all as there is always MediaWiki:Titleblacklist made for this purpose. Anyway, this should help with what you are asking. Reception123 (talk) (contribs) 06:05, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
The reason I asked here is not because I don't know how to do it, but because it is a global filter, and I do not have permission to edit it. -- Void Whispers 16:02, 1 April 2017 (UTC)

Ban

Hello,
I am bureaucrat and founder in http://nonsa.miraheze.org, but other bureaucrat removed my admin rights and banned me. Can you remove this ban? Sir Polskacafe (talk) 03:13, 1 April 2017 (UTC) PS This message is copied from this page.

I have removed the block. John (talk) 19:04, 2 April 2017 (UTC)

Template problems

Hello! I would like to notify you about the little problem I am having with templates over at my wiki surrounding templates. Firstly it seems in Visual Editor the parameters for templates do not show up. They have to be entered manually unlike Wikipedia which show up manually and are neatly listed for you. I assume this is a problem on the config side and a fix would be great! Secondly it seems the wiki is unable to load pages with large amounts of data for example over at the Infobox officeholder page it is unable to load. I don't know if the server is unable to handle the amount of data stored on the page but it is a real pain. I hope these issues can be fixed swiftly offering me and others a faster and better experience. CnocBride (talk) 21:05, 4 April 2017 (UTC)

For template parameters, it does require you to enter all the details of the template into the TemplateData for each template manually. Fortunately, this should be a one time thing that is done once the template is created. The other issue I have no idea about. -- Void Whispers 21:16, 4 April 2017 (UTC)
@Void What staff member should I contact in relation to the problem about the template page not loading seeing as you cannot solve it? CnocBride (talk) 16:43, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
