My rename request

My rename request was rejected for no noted reason. The email I received did not explain why it was rejected at all. Musicismylife (talk) 22:37, 30 September 2021 (UTC)

Hmm, odd. Anyway, the request was declined simply because I wanted you to resubmit the request due to how old it was, on the off chance you were no longer interested in the rename. -- Void Whispers 23:10, 30 September 2021 (UTC)

@Void: I've resubmitted the request, could you please review it? Thanks, Musicismylife (talk) 01:30, 1 October 2021 (UTC)

For the record, this has been resolved. --Raidarr (talk) 08:20, 9 October 2021 (UTC)

I'm ready to be globally blocked

My passion for making wiki pages is now gone, I can't let go what happened to me in August, and I got a New Retroid Pocket 2 so I'll be doing a lot more gaming now. So I'm ready to leave Miraheze for good. Grust (talk) 15:28, 1 October 2021 (UTC) Grust (talk) 15:28, 1 October 2021 (UTC)

Goodbye Grust, I'm so glad I got to meet you. I hope you have a good life outside the internet. TigerBlazer (talk) 17:09, 1 October 2021 (UTC)
Fare thee well. Sorry things happened the way they did. Have a nice life outside Miraheze. Marxo Grouch (talk) 22:09, 1 October 2021 (UTC)
Goodbye. AlvaroNovaes-BR (talk) 22:09, 1 October 2021 (UTC)
I didn't know you very well, but goodbye, and everyone on Qualitipedia appreciates that you made Crappy Games Wiki, because without you and that wiki, Qualitipedia wouldn't exist. FatBurn0000 (talk) 23:07, 1 October 2021 (UTC)
@Grust: Hi, I'm sorry to see you go again. Since you have already requested a lock a year ago and then came back I would just like to confirm that you are sure about this and do not expect to come back in the near future. If there is still a chance you may come back at some point you could always just not have your account locked. Reception123 (talk) (C) 10:30, 4 October 2021 (UTC)
Goodbye Grust it was fun talking to you Gilimaster69 (talk) 15:51, 4 October 2021 (UTC)
@Reception123:Yes I am absolutely sure I want to leave Miraheze for good. I want my account locked with no way for me to get it back. Grust (talk) 01:42, 5 October 2021 (UTC)
Grust With regrets, this has now been  done. With regard to Reception123's astute point out above that it was actually Grust that was originally locked and unlocked in 2020. Grust 2.0 earlier this year requested to usurp Grust because he was no longer able to log into his Grust account and didn't have a registered e-mail address on file. It's definitely believed the two Grusts are the same user, but as no prior confirmation edit existed, usurpation was the only option. The prior global lock history stays with the username title—that is to say, when one is globally renamed, their lock history does not transition to the new username, thus there's no lock history on Grust (usurped). Dmehus (talk) 02:46, 8 October 2021 (UTC)
Still waiting for my global block. I don't want to return! Make it so I can never return. Grust (talk) 01:58, 8 October 2021 (UTC)
See above. Dmehus (talk) 02:48, 8 October 2021 (UTC)

Bye bye. MarioBobFan (talk) 03:23, 5 October 2021 (UTC)

Hello, My wiki's permission tree was reset, but I still can't access ManageWiki.

Hello, i made a request a few days ago, about me accidentally deleting my permissions tree, and I have gotten an email saying my permissions tree was fixed and reset. I checked them, and everything looks good, however, I don't appear to be able to edit the Special:ManageWiki page, I feel like I didn't get the bureaucrat role added back to me.

I was wondering, how would I go about getting that role added to me on my wiki? Or, should I submit another request on that Phabricator website?

I hope someone might be able to assist me with this, it will be much appreciated. Thank you. TimeWisely (talk) 21:03, 2 October 2021 (UTC)

@TimeWisely: Per your CentralAuth, it appears that you aren't bureaucrat. This is likely because you deleted the bureaucrat permission and it seems that you weren't automatically granted it back when the permissions table was replaced. A Steward will assign you it soon. Agent Isai Talk to me! 21:11, 2 October 2021 (UTC)
Ah, I forgot to check that when I reset the permissions. This has now been fixed. -- Void Whispers 21:14, 2 October 2021 (UTC)

Please delete my wiki

Please delete my wiki erotica.miraheze.org ('eroticawiki' in the DB) as I won't be having the free time I thought I would have to make it grow and develop. Thanks. Solitudine (talk) 22:57, 4 October 2021 (UTC)

Delete My Wiki

I would like you to delete https://exquisiteboardgames.miraheze.org/, as I have never had the time to work on it and I am much more interested in other things right now. TigerBlazer (talk) 01:28, 5 October 2021 (UTC)

Wait wait maybe you can let me adopt it Gilimaster69 (talk) 01:14, 6 October 2021 (UTC)
TigerBlazer This has now been  done. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 02:36, 8 October 2021 (UTC)

Question

When will Miraheze update to the recent version of MediaWiki (1.37)? If you don't know, put at least estimates (talk) 07:12, 8 October 2021 (UTC)

MediaWiki 1.37 isn't due to be released until November, so probably not until then. -- Void Whispers 12:31, 8 October 2021 (UTC)
Hi, We will make our best effort to have it on test3wiki as soon as rc0 is out. Production wikis will get it shortly after full release. We currently have the branch available on the mediawiki repo. ~ RhinosF1 - (chat)· acc· c - (on) 19:55, 8 October 2021 (UTC)

Assorted requests

I'm a bit of a moron and forgot how one-time tokens work, so please disregard the period of time I spent moping in the corner about how I couldn't access my account and the edit here where I forgot I could use OTTs to solve my own problem after using one to log in, in the first place.

As for proper business for the noticeboard, I seek

  • Closure of mwclassic.miraheze.org
  • Closure of criticalreceptions.miraheze.org

Both projects are frankly a persistent headache and source of mild stress, as I have no ability to follow them through yet still hold some level of vision for their premises. It is simpler to end them.

Finally, based upon my edit count nearly passing the global requirement by 2x, I seek interwiki administrator right for raidarr.miraheze.org to offer it further extensibility and in part to become familiar with the mechanic itself.

Thank you for your time with regards to whichever requests may be accommodated. --Raidarr (talk) 09:03, 8 October 2021 (UTC)

Raidarr I'll take a look at these tonight. With regard to the latter, are you able to link me to your local election page you started a few days ago (or more)? Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 13:45, 8 October 2021 (UTC)
By nature of the wiki's request and function, I believed an electoral process to be redundant due to the wiki's status as a privately managed wiki engineered to be more or less only used by myself allowing for outsider comment when things are created. There is no community at this time (as a rather new creation), and traditionally speaking there would not be a collaborative community in the future. An election by jurisdiction would only include myself, and perhaps my alts. --Raidarr (talk) 20:44, 8 October 2021 (UTC)
Ah, sorry, I didn't look to see if the wiki in question was a private wiki. We have allowed that in the past on occasion. Dmehus (talk) 20:22, 9 October 2021 (UTC)
Raidarr In terms of your request for local interwiki-admin, this has been  done per your stated added comments, and upon verification of the same, that this is (a) a private wiki to which (b) only you have contributed. We've done this on couple occasions in the recent past, notably with reviwikiwiki and the since deleted bwm0wiki. I assume Raided Lemons is your alternate account (ideally confirming that from your alternate account if it was created while not logged in to your master account, or linking me to the log entry where it was created by your master account). I will handle the other request shortly. Dmehus (talk) 20:32, 9 October 2021 (UTC)
Log entry for the record and by request related to above. Otherwise, thank you for the task completions and your time. --Raidarr (talk) 23:56, 9 October 2021 (UTC)
No problem, and thanks for the confirmation log link. Thanks also for creating your alternate account(s) whilst logged in. :) Dmehus (talk) 23:58, 9 October 2021 (UTC)
Raidarr Per your stated rationale, including, but not limited to the fact that you were the only contributor these wikis, this now been  done (#1 and #2). Dmehus (talk) 20:39, 9 October 2021 (UTC)

Help

Someone to help please? Before I searched the name of the wiki where I manage on google, the 'onibus wiki'. However, out of nowhere, when I search again, it disappeared from the search engines, and losing to a wikipedia article about buses, and this one fandom wiki: doU! How do I improve my search results? (talk) 16:56, 8 October 2021 (UTC)

@YellowFrogger: I searched 'onibus wiki' on Google and found your wiki, it was the 4th search results after Wikipedia and Wiktionary. Agent Isai Talk to me! 17:17, 8 October 2021 (UTC)
@Agent Isai: There's something wrong. Previously when it was searched, it appeared among the first, the second place to be more exact. Today this happened. It 'stumbled' from the search results and no longer appears in the top for some reason, losing out to crap like Fandom wikis.
Miraheze has to invest mainly in its pagerank, which is 50 on its hosted wikis. Wikis hosted on Fandom have a page rank of 90, Wikipedia, Facebook, YouTube, famous sites have a page rank of 90 (but that's to be expected). A common site is usually between 30 and 60. Good sites are between 60 and 80. Poor sites are between 10 and 20.
Did he appear after Wiktionary and Wikipedia? In my case it appeared after Wikipedia, Facebook, Instagram (wiki social networks) and Fandom Wikis. This might be due to your language preferences or something.
On Bing, the results are worse. If you search Bing, the wiki will pretty much only show up on the fourth page. But, thankfully, no one uses this Edge trash. And whoever uses Edge will use Google.

That's why it's always better to improve the page rank on Miraheze, and its wikis. People tend to be lazy, or, let's say: suspicious and always use the first search results. (talk) 18:10, 8 October 2021 (UTC)

@Agent Isai: It was the main page that disappeared. Not the wiki itself. I used the search with quotes as a reference: "https://onibus.miraheze.org/wiki/Página_principal", and nothing appeared, only related. I swear I didn't change and I didn't do anything on the main page (which was supposed to happen if I changed the main page to a different layout). In fact, it has not been modified since December 2020. (talk) 18:48, 8 October 2021 (UTC)
@Agent Isai: Please, someone to give an opinion? (talk) 21:11, 8 October 2021 (UTC)
@YellowFrogger: FANDOM has such good SEO and pagerank because they're in it for the money and contract SEO agencies to get their wikis at the top of the Google results. Miraheze on the other hand lets you manage SEO yourself which gives you flexibility and control in that aspect. What I recommend you do on your wiki is enable WikiSEO, sign up for the Google Search Console and Bing Webmasters service to gain control over how your website is indexed and get recommendations about what you can improve. Once you have signed up for these services, you can submit a sitemap which generally helps get your website on Google much much faster than if it manually indexed it by itself. These tools also give you recommendations on how to improve your page rank (e.g. if you don't have a mobile skin, perhaps it'll tell you to enable one. If a certain page takes too long to load because of excessive templates, these services will generally alert you, etc.). I've found that heeding the suggestions Google and Bing have made really did help my wiki rise to the top of Google and Bing and I believe it'll help you too. Hope this helps. Reply if you have any questions :) Agent Isai Talk to me! 02:12, 9 October 2021 (UTC)
@Agent Isai: I fully agree with you. FANDOM attracts visitors not to wikis, but for money. Even your themes are small, boring and full of ads. Another thing is that the employees are paid, and the founder is the same as the one from Wikipedia! (and there are still people who donate to the Wikimedia Foundation); then it will soon be automatically stolen to appear in the first results. (talk) 04:19, 9 October 2021 (UTC)
@Agent Isai: Let's get to the main topic:
(The 'PageRank' I had based on an extension that showed the PageRank of websites).
The only thing missing was the main page, not the site itself. Well, it's very messy. Search for 'Onibus Wiki' or 'Ônibus Wiki' on google. It was gone and now it appears, but it will disappear again, and it will appear. As if I had done something: like changed the main page. These things started happening today.
The name 'Ônibus Wiki' is very bad, and it was a slightly bad choice. But at the time I had no idea. I could have chosen created names like "Enciclopédiabus" - (Encyclopediabus). Even because, this current name, Wiki is short for Wikipedia, not to mention that it is very well known by other wikis (these other FANDOM wikis have a small and bad content edited by IPs, but even so, it manages to be my competitor).
Bing is a polluting and bad search engine. As I don't use it, I don't know what it's like, but the site doesn't appear anyway.
In my opinion, miraheze should have an option to place ads (rather than a box option in 'Manage general settings for this wiki'), the wiki author would place the ad if they want, so monetization would go to Miraheze. Even because, almost nobody donates. (talk) 04:32, 9 October 2021 (UTC)
From my experience, Google does prefer a static page over a dynamic one, and will not recommend dynamic ones because they do not make very good links (the contents are obviously subject to change). Thus pretty much any day it's more in your interest to make the content pages more established since from what I know wiki traffic will always be directed to proper content pages - at least as search engines think, which is a sticky and difficult topic (SEO) with its own occupation for a reason. It'll only recommend dynamic content like front pages in certain other contexts that have yet another set of variables for how search engines think. I'm afraid your best bet (imo) boils down to best practices and the consoles and looking more to the overall searchability of contents as compared to the main page itself. But don't let that dissuade you from troubleshooting further since I'm actually interested in seeing if you can reach consistency. As for the name, I think the special character might hurt, but I don't think there's too much wrong with 'Onibus' itself. Has a cute charm to it.--Raidarr (talk) 08:17, 9 October 2021 (UTC)
@Raidarr: 'Ônibus' means 'bus' in Portuguese, which is the language of the wiki. About the dynamic pages, the current one I use is the same one used on Wikipedia in English as you can see that header with bullets on the side. So I have to choose a simple layout like: just words to take off in search results? (talk) 15:42, 9 October 2021 (UTC)
SEO for non-english cases is weird and beyond my theorizing abilities I'm afraid. It's possible that angle introduces odd conditions that otherwise wouldn't apply, or there is still something about your page (or even domain if Miraheze's usual front pages are weighing in on sub domains) that would be a changing factor in how search engines treat your particular subdomain, even if it's doing nothing different or wrong. --Raidarr (talk) 19:05, 12 October 2021 (UTC)

2 suspicious users who has targeted the Roblox Clones page on Crappy Games Wiki more than 24 hours ago, and hereby requesting a CheckUser on the following accounts

I have a reason to believe that these 2 are indeed the very same person, because when Lollolman vandalized this page Roblox clones, it was reverted, then 32 minutes later, Derpderpdude showed up, and did the very same thing. It's very clear to me that they are no doubt one and the same, only just here to target the very same page. Please take a look at this when given the time. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 20:40, 9 October 2021 (UTC)

There's some similarity between the users' vandalism, but taken together with other available evidence, this is inconclusive at this point. In other words, it's possible they're the same user, but it's also possible they're two separate users. The users may be vandalism only accounts, but it's only four edits between the two accounts, on one wiki, around which both are locally indefinitely blocked. I would recommend warning both users to user accounts policy on their local user talk pages, and advise if you see them edit further on other wikis, or if you see future accounts created editing in a similar fashion. As such, I'm closing this as  locally handled, with no further action from Stewards, for now. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 21:01, 9 October 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for checking them out anyway. Also, are you going to be around tonight on Discord? If that's your plan, then that's good to hear. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 21:04, 9 October 2021 (UTC)

Please delete 2 of my wikis

Can hytalewiki https://hytale.miraheze.org/ and minicraftwiki https://minicraft.miraheze.org/ be deleted? Hytale says they're releasing it in 2023 and I think I'll recreate the wiki when it releases, and minicraftwiki I handed it out to my friend and he just did nothing, he didn't even want the admin permissions on that wiki. I didn't create any dumps of those wikis as they have basically nothing. Anpang (talk) 03:00, 10 October 2021 (UTC)

Anpang For hytalewiki,  done per your request as the only contributor to the wiki. For minicraftwiki, I'm not seeing where you held the wiki originally. It appears to have been created by your friend. In any case, it's closed per Dormancy Policy, so should be deleted in due course. Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 03:08, 10 October 2021 (UTC)

Election on Chromeball Wiki

Hi Stewards, Chromeball wiki doesn't have any active admins so we were told to hold an election to promote someone to bureaucrat and have it open for 7 days. It's been 7 days and the election is over. Here's the link to the election: link PBW (talk) 01:31, 11 October 2021 (UTC)

PBW Thank you for your request. Interestingly, I see that ThatDudeRightHere has made a couple edits in the past week, interestingly, if a user wanted to run for bureaucrat. Other than one other edit, indeed, I see he's not active on the wiki. Any idea why? In any case, I've pinged ThatDudeRightHere to this thread, and if he doesn't respond within a day or two, I'll assess your local election in his stead and effect any permissions needed. Thank you. Dmehus (talk) 01:54, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
We tried to contact him through Discord and someone else left him a message but he hasn't replied PBW (talk) 02:13, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
PBW As ThatDudeRightHere hasn't responded to the {{ping}} from me and your myriad attempts to have him effect the outcome, this has been  closed as successful. Please do see my hopefully instructive closing comments and recommendations. Dmehus (talk) 02:56, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
PBW Actually, ThatDudeRightHere has already done this, which I hadn't yet seen, as he hadn't closed the discussion. So as I said locally, there's nothing for Stewards to do here. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 03:05, 12 October 2021 (UTC)

Is it possible for me to become a new bureaucrat and sysop of the `uglylogoswiki`?

Well, the reason why I'm asking this is because I'm not even an admin or bureaucrat of that wiki, as it has been a target of a particular troll making spam pages, including the ones that are egregious. I'm just tired of having to slap the deletion templates every time they make troll pages on that particular wiki. So, is it possible that I could be granted that? DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 10:45, 12 October 2021 (UTC)

Are local admins available/active that should be contacted first? I'd also think this is global sysop domain if not since that is what policy suggests, while simply being given near ownership of a wiki in the name of cvt is totally unprecedented. --Raidarr (talk) 12:42, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
@Raidarr: No, none of them are active on that wiki at all right now. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 12:44, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
For the benefit of observing Stewards, this is the current staff situation on the wiki in question. One bureaucrat and two admins. One admin is globally locked, the other from what I'm aware has largely retired from Miraheze but is still reachable on the wider internet. From my experience, I doubt that user has much interest in returning to perform CVT and as a sysop, he lacks the tools to delegate. The bureaucrat has a mixed status among other like wikis (which DMM is the effective leader on in many cases) and I cannot spot contributions on his account past 2019. Bottom line I would consider the current leadership defunct for properly handling vandalism and there is no apparent means to locally issue promotions to DarkMatterMan.
However, that still leaves the normal routine for cases like these, where the global sysops (and Stewards by default of course) may be employed as long as the wiki has not opted out of their activity. Having a Steward add permissions to someone with no permissions on-wiki to aid in local anti-vandalism, especially bureaucrat is a very unusual request from what I've seen on policy. I'll defer to an actual Steward/GS for formal statement, but I believe you have two options in this case. One, hold a local election to be issued rights. Either anyone active will (presumably) come to support you or you will go unopposed for roughly 7 days, thus (I assume) allowing you to take these permissions by default. This measure is founded in policy and wouldn't require Stewards to do something unusual. Alternatively, and/or in the meantime a GS/Steward can be poked to investigate the wiki in question and help out in purging bad actors, as is the process on the rest of Miraheze where absentee admins and no local caveats apply. --Raidarr (talk) 19:01, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
@Raidarr: To be fair, the bureaucrat, Mar9122 was globally locked based on evidence linking him to MeMeGuYWasLost and 5 other accounts that were used in an abusive manner (such as vandalism). DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 01:23, 13 October 2021 (UTC)
DarkMatterMan4500, are you an existing contributing editor to uglylogoswiki? Assuming so, yes, it's definitely possible for you to hold a local election on a wiki where there are no or few locally active bureaucrats or sysops, but I would also add that that's not the only discussion you could instead have. In effect, why make it a binary outcome—that is to say, whether you should be a bureaucrat and/or sysop or not. Rather, why not hold a local RfC or similar community discussion and propose several options, such as whether the wiki contains sufficient contributing editors and useful content intended to be read by people and, if so, whether it should continue or be demised? Then, if the wiki is to be continued, have a separate proposal establishing criteria upon which may be granted advanced permissions. If you would like a local sitenotice on the wiki, you can definitely ask Stewards to draft and post a neutral sitenotice on the wiki in question via this noticeboard. Hope that helps. User:Xenharmonic and Xen Wiki

I'm very sure that User:Xenharmonic is a sock of globally banned User:PiotrGrochowski. Since there's a significant gap between Xenharmonic's latest activity and PiotrGrochowski's global ban (which is over two months), this can't be proven with CU, but I think they are obvious DUCKs. Here's some evidence:

Xenharmonic is normally active only at Xen Wiki but since they are probably connected to PiotrGrochowski, I recommend globally locking them.

Also, this edit and this edit suggests that Xenharmonic wanted the wiki to be closed down. I also wanted that wiki to be closed down because most of the users signing up on this wiki are generally spambots to be honest.

BTW, I'm sorry if I reported this late. SMB99thx (talk) 08:25, 13 October 2021 (UTC)

@SMB99thx: Since this is a Trust & Safety issue, emailing T&S this info instead of reporting it publicly is a better option. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 10:45, 13 October 2021 (UTC)

request for reopening deepadaptation.miraheze.org

Hello, the creator of this wiki went through hard times and the wiki went dormant. Is it possible to reopen it or is it permanently deleted? Thanks ! XavierV (talk) 07:31, 14 October 2021 (UTC)

A sysadmin or steward can review this properly, but was this an open wiki by chance? If so it might be found on archive.org, at which point it can be imported back. Otherwise if it was deleted recently it might still be on-server, but if it's been a while I doubt anywhere but archive.org will help. --Raidarr (talk) 15:30, 15 October 2021 (UTC)
Anyone can check Special:ManageWiki, this can be done with one tap of a button as it's not been fully deleted yet. ~ RhinosF1 - (chat)· acc· c - (on) 08:25, 16 October 2021 (UTC)
If the URL provided offers a 404 wiki not found, I'm not sure how XavierV would attempt to do this. I would also consider this evidence that the statement does not apply (and if he can confirm the deleted entry is the same one, it seems he had quite a bit of pull if he wasn't the owner himself). If it was merely closed, I would agree. --Raidarr (talk) 10:47, 16 October 2021 (UTC)
I didn't explain well being barely out of bed. It still needs a steward to click said button but no need for reimporting content etc. ~ RhinosF1 - (chat)· acc· c - (on) 10:53, 16 October 2021 (UTC)
Good to know, then. For clarity and the record, what exactly (or roughly) is the window of time between closed-turned-deleted where a steward can undo, and when the content is totally off the servers and thus requires import? --Raidarr (talk) 14:09, 16 October 2021 (UTC)
There is a not a codified timeframe, nor should there be as it relates to utilization of server resources, between the time a wiki is marked as deleted (allowing for undeletion by Stewards) and dropped by SRE. Wikis are generally marked as deleted after one-hundred eighty (180) days of complete inactivity (i.e., no logged actions or edits appearing in RC). Note also that when wikis are marked as deleted, they are not automatically included in the list of eligible wikis able to be dropped until two weeks have passed since being marked as deleted (SRE have the capability to override this minimum two week period, but is generally only done in cases of requested wiki deletions and recreations, or wiki resets, or for their own testing purposes). Generally speaking, SRE usually drop a batch of wikis once there are a minimum of between 200-500 deleted wikis eligible for dropping. On average in the past, I've observed that there are usually between 100-200 wikis marked as deleted every month. Finally, it's also important to note that the de facto wiki database-dropper-in-chief also maintains backups of dropped wikis' XML dumps on (presumably) mwtask1 (used to be jobrunner3), so even dropped public and private wikis can usually be restored (albeit via a Phabricator task) for up to a year or two after being completely dropped. They just would not include image restorations, as it's just an XML dump. Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 18:02, 16 October 2021 (UTC)
I am so happy to read that it might be possible to get this deepadaptation.miraheze.org wiki back! How do I proceed ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by XavierV (talkcontribs) 17:15, 16 October 2021 (UTC)
As you were a bureaucrat, who also requested this wiki, this has been  done. Please make sure you use DataDump to create, download, and save a regular backup of your wiki, and make at least one logged action or edit on your wiki every 180 days (better every 178-79 days, to be honest) to prevent this from happening. Thanks. :) Dmehus (talk) 17:54, 16 October 2021 (UTC)
Thank you so much ! Sure I will save backup now and also make sure that if I am not able to log in for whatever reason, some body else from our Deep Adaptation group will do. Would you be able to reopen my wiki please?

Hi there,

Is it possible to reopen my wiki? Sorry neglected it for a bit too long! Tried to send you guys an email but nothing came of it!

Kind regards,

 Multilingualtricker (talk) 09:24, 14 October 2021 (UTC)

Assuming it is this wiki, you can actually do it yourself if you head to your core ManageWiki page and untick the closed option. --Raidarr (talk) 10:04, 14 October 2021 (UTC)

Can I have the "previews" feature on my wiki? The wiki I own is the Zoos Wiki.

The wiki I own, the Zoos Wiki, would benefit greatly from previews. Hovering over links would show people which animals the zoos have so they can get a visual representation of what lives in them. Ebirah766 (talk) 12:27, 14 October 2021 (UTC)

I don't suppose this extension called "Previews" in the 'other' extension tab from ManageWiki is what you're looking for? It does have a few dependencies to hunt down, but seems like what you're looking for. --Raidarr (talk) 15:28, 15 October 2021 (UTC)

This wiki made by Tom2tums which intended for opinions is violating the Content policy.

For my source, there's page on that wiki that talks about the Sonic fanbase (similar how it works in TF&H) with many facts that intends to be insults to related groups, even the content is placed on a regular public page and not on a blog. I would like to request that wiki to be deleted as based on the creator's behavior on a few topics. AlvaroNovaes-BR (talk) 23:29, 14 October 2021 (UTC)

Him being an idiot on other wikis doesn't really relate to the wiki being closed, and while I agree that the wiki you reference is frankly an eyesore, it might be difficult to remove on strict content policy grounds - though I'll note that at least one example from above presents an unconstructive and fairly vulgar strawman against a general fandom, and I'm not sure it can be excused as satire. If nothing else I think it deserves investigation and the user should be followed up on for potential CoC issues in relation to the other examples in the above post. --Raidarr (talk) 10:40, 16 October 2021 (UTC)

I'm being stalked cross-wiki by troll, please help

A user named DARKY! STOP BLOCKING ME WITHOUT ANSWERING! won't stop following me around, and is a sock of a banned editor -abigblueworld-, since they have this obsession with UglyDolls, keeps making constant throwaway accounts, constantly targeting me, and it's been quite annoying to deal with them on-wiki. I know I said this on Discord already, but this is becoming ridiculous to the point where I just want to bang my head against the wall because I have to constantly block the user in question. Please help me. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 15:17, 16 October 2021 (UTC)

Something very strange

So I was looking at recent changes on my wiki, Absurd Shows & Episodes Wiki, and I noticed that a user named "<redacted - rhinosf1>" vandalized the wiki and then got blocked by DarkMatterMan4500. However, when I looked at the user contributions, even though the contributions were there, it said that the user did not exist. See here: [[mh:absurdshowsandepisodes:Special:Contributions/<redacted - rhinosf1>]]. How is this possible? Blubabluba9990 (talk) 17:31, 16 October 2021 (UTC)

Void globally hid the user in the CentralAuth extension. We're pretty conservative when we globally suppress users, and tend to it for extremely offensive and potentially defamatory usernames, but also can do it for other reasons, such as really long usernames that are also Username Policy violations in this case. Dmehus (talk) 17:36, 16 October 2021 (UTC)

Checkuser request

All The Tropes requests a checkuser on userIDs "BalonGreyjoy" and "Reddington", given that they are attempting to make the same edits with the same wording within a short period of time. (The edits are being held at Moderation, so the user or users might not realize that they're being held and is/are making the same edits again.) Wiki policy is that multiple accounts are strongly discouraged. --Robkelk (talk) 15:34, 18 October 2021 (UTC)

Also "DagonGreyjoy". --Robkelk (talk) 15:35, 18 October 2021 (UTC)
Robkelk Would you mind linking me to ATT policy for the text of where it says editing with multiple accounts is discouraged? Dmehus (talk) 00:58, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
Dmehus It's on our list of reasons somebody can be temp-banned or permanently banned, under the heading "Grounds for a permanent ban without warning on the first occurrence". We make a habit of mentioning this list to new users. --Robkelk (talk) 01:57, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
Robkelk Indeed, the users have been editing on similar pages in and in a (somewhat) similar fashion, at least to the extent of trying to continue and build upon the previous user's edits. As such, there is evidence that the user appears to be editing with multiple user accounts within a short period of time, in contravention of both your cited local wiki policy and user accounts policy, a global policy. However, per both the letter and spirit of your local wiki policy (as well as the global policy), it's far from clear the user appears to be doing so in anything but good-faith and intent, as by your policy's own admission, where it says, "[c]reation of multiple user accounts within a short time (usually within an hour or less), especially the creation of one account from another. This is considered prima facie evidence of a spammer or vandal[,]" it's intended to be used in cases of clear spam or vandalism, neither of which I've seen. As well, even Looney Toons' own warning is absent on the specific reason to pay heed to, the creation and use of multiple user accounts. So, rather, I'd like to reach out to the user via their oldest created user account, link them to both policies and identify the issue specifically, and ask them to declare all of their user accounts they've recently used via their AllTheTropes' user page and promise to stick to editing AllTheTropes with one user account at a time. I'll additionally offer to lock any alternate accounts, if they request it and should they feel that would be helpful for them in sticking to only one user account. If they ignore the warning and continue editing with their multiple user accounts, then it becomes clearer in terms of their level of good-faith and intent, as well as their motive for using multiple accounts to edit on the wiki, and restrictions can be put in place. How does that sound? Dmehus (talk) 05:23, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
Robkelk, I'll examine the users' edits, and determine if an UAP investigation is required. Dmehus (talk) 00:52, 19 October 2021 (UTC)

First of all, Interwiki administrators can't mark pages for translation but translation administrators can. Stewards can do nothing about this. This isn't something that needs Stewards' attention. You can review the existing translations in Portuguese (pt-br) if you want, because you seem to know the language well. If you have any page to mark for translation or if you want to be a Translation admin, ask on the Meta:Administrators' noticeboard. --Ma͡gogre (talk) 06:38, 20 October 2021 (UTC)

Why is criticizing fandoms and groups of people against the Code of Conduct?

The Qualitipedia forbids pages criticizing fandoms and groups of people because it violates the Code of Conduct. But the Code of Conduct has no words regarding pages negatively talking about fandoms and groups of people. I mean, vague. Maxkatzur (talk) 09:17, 15 October 2021 (UTC)

Qualitipedia in particular is overly cautious due to its audience's maturity and the chance its content will actually go wrong, in spite of the efforts of the staff. It is easier for them to deny the possibility of making a violating page; by default they may not be problematic, but that depends very much on how said page is written. Personally I don't think QP is capable of doing pages on either type correctly. Also, there is an element past that of trying to improve reputation, and attacking fanbases and groups given its own problems does not help with that impression. It's a bit of a kneejerk, but a reasonable one I believe. The things they block are often not inherently related to content policy (which is what I'd think is the problem, dunno who says CoC since CoC is more of a user behavior thing), but sheer caution that's based on the content matter being issues in the past. And of course there is the potential for libel and other legal issues with poorly curated content devoted to people and sometimes even businesses. --Raidarr (talk) 15:21, 15 October 2021 (UTC)
@Maxkatzur: That rule is in the content policy, not the code of conduct, as the friend said up there. YellowFrogger (Talk Edits) 21:39, 15 October 2021 (UTC)
Quoting from the Content Policy: "Miraheze does not host wikis with the sole purpose to spread unsubstantiated insult, hate or rumours against a person or group of people". They are exemptions for content that clearly has a legitimate comedic value though. ~ RhinosF1 - (chat)· acc· c - (on) 08:00, 16 October 2021 (UTC)
The wiki's rules say that pages criticizing users are against Code of Conduct. This needs to be corrected! Maxkatzur (talk) 11:46, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
You're quite right, local rules tend to be quite inconsistent with details like this. But you'll need to specify which wikis; if you like I can prod the appropriate people from there. If it's across basically all of them or in the global rules for QP, please mention that as well. Otherwise it's basically a local issue from here. Raidarr (talk) 12:10, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
Awful Movies, Crappy Games, Rotten Websites, Terrible TV Shows Maxkatzur (talk) 02:34, 23 October 2021 (UTC)

Local Interwiki Administrator for my wikis

Hello, much of people would know me through all of the 3 wiki requests created by me, including lhmnwiki, brawlstarsviwiki, and most recently: lhmnfanonwiki. I'm here to apply for local interwiki administrator, since these reasons:

  1. I'm managing 3 wikis - as them are my wanted wiki projects that I did need to create.
  2. I'm now don't have times for Discord, since I was graduated from secondary school and now started studying on high school, which is the things that I don't have much times for making community/steward noticeboard question.
  3. I did have understanding and have enough knowlenges to indentify and creating interwiki links, but, per above reason, I didn't wants to be an Global IA, but instead for my local wikis only, to help me managing my wikis best as I could done.

That's all for my request. I hope the Stewards could give me comments and questions to reinforcing my request. Thanks for reading '_'

edit: I found that I did forgot somethings.

The standard process is to hold an election in your community to get this right, but if you are the only primary contributor between them and have the practical use I'm sure you could get it approved without that. Judging by each wiki you hold bureaucrat/sysop rights and their active users lists ([1], [2], and [3]) this appears to be mainly the case. Not a Steward, one of them will review this request soon. --Raidarr (talk) 12:25, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
@Pisces: In addition to the above mentioned by Raidarr, for the meanwhile, if you need any Interwiki prefixes added to your wiki, feel free to ask on the Community noticeboard. Agent Isai Talk to me! 14:59, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
Pisces As Raidarr and Agent Isai have noted, we normally prefer local elections for local interwiki administrator; however, looking at lhmnwiki, it looks like the only contributing users are you and your bot/alternate accounts, other than Đức Anh, which only made a few edits on your user talk page in July and hasn't been active since. For brawlstarsviwiki, indeed, you're the only contributor to the wiki, but the wiki is closed, so I'd rather prefer to see you reopen the wiki so I know you intend to keep operating the wiki. Finally, for lhmnwiki, that can also be done as well. Please let me know if there's still interest in these, and which ones, and I'll action this within two business days. Dmehus (talk) 05:39, 25 October 2021 (UTC)

Is it possible to report this?

Is it possible to report plagiarism here? Because someone on another wiki did it to one of my pages. Trying to convince them didn't seem to work. So maybe you guys could help? Phonicfriends103 (talk) 07:57, 23 October 2021 (UTC)

Yes, here is fine. ~ RhinosF1 - (chat)· acc· c - (on) 08:06, 23 October 2021 (UTC)
I'm just asking this because someone by the name of Malachi777 started to steal content from one of my pages as well as a few pages from a FANDOM wiki. If you want the page, it's here: https://bearbones.miraheze.org/wiki/Madeline_(2021_TV_series) and the original is here: https://funvasion.miraheze.org/wiki/Madeline_(2021_TV_series)

One of the edits from July is the plagiarism.

EDIT: I got blocked because I didn't want them to plagarise anything? You know in the real world this will reult in more trouble. Phonicfriends103 (talk) 08:19, 23 October 2021 (UTC)

Lack of proper attribution at the very least is actionable. If they provide credit and your content was a sharing license there wouldn't be much to do, but from what's described this doesn't seem to be the case. --Raidarr (talk) 08:34, 23 October 2021 (UTC)
I have to concur with both Raidarr and RhinosF1 on this one. Both of the wikis share the exact same license as each other. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 10:26, 23 October 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for letting me know. Phonicfriends103 (talk) 21:26, 23 October 2021 (UTC)
Phonicfriends103 As this appears to be a good-faith copying and pasting of your wiki's pages without proper attribution, we would not generally close or delete the wiki on a first report. Can you instead provide me a list of all the pages copied from your your wiki, so we can look into this further and with a closer examination, as to determine what remediation needs to take place and where? As well, as an added comment to what has been said somewhat above, note that per the terms of your wiki's license, you grant other wikis the right to copy, with attribution, your wiki's pages, in whole or in part, notwithstanding those copied wikis not being substantial duplications of existing wikis (but that's a Content Policy issue, not a copyright issue, strictly speaking). Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 04:42, 27 October 2021 (UTC)

Some wikis that need to be closed

There are some wikis I found that need to be closed as they are violations of the Content Policy:

  • Crappy GachaTubers Wiki - A reception wiki focused on negative pages on people, specifically, GachaTubers, which are a type of user. In fact, there's even pages like mh:crappygachatubers:Lord Fun Trevor is back that have no sources whatsoever (the videos may prove the claims but still that should be clear) and therefore are essentially spreading rumours.
  • Bad Quotev Users Wiki - Pretty much the same as Crappy GachaTubers Wiki except focusing on bad Quotev users rather than GachaTubers, and also there are pages such as mh:badquotevusers:LucyMax and mh:badquotevusers:Demotion that have unsourced claims that could count as rumour-spreading, much like CGTW.
  • Horrible Political Fandoms & Hatedoms Wiki - A wiki that was made because of political fandoms and hatedoms no longer being allowed on Toxic Fandoms & Hatedoms Wiki. In terms for that wiki, it was closed back in September 2020 and was also deleted around June (the fact that the latest archive on web.archive.org is June 4, 2021 makes this seem possible and I also remember not being able to find it later that month so it was probably deleted in June) for violating the Content Policy as it is a negative reception wiki criticising fandoms and hatedoms, and Horrible Political Fandoms and Hatedoms Wiki does the exact same thing TFAHW did and therefore should be closed.

FatBurn0000 (talk) 20:33, 24 October 2021 (UTC)

Weren't they already closed though, aside from the exceptions? DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 21:39, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
What do you mean? None of these wikis are closed. If you thought that Crappy GachaTubers Wiki was closed, it was because I accidentally linked the wrong subdomain. FatBurn0000 (talk) 22:08, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
These are clearly wikis that have fallen below 'mainstream' attention, hence why they were missed and not closed with the closure of like wikis. Given they all focus on making pages to criticize individuals (and fandom respectively) they're at the very least problematic on principle. --Raidarr (talk) 07:59, 26 October 2021 (UTC)
FatBurn0000 Thank you for your report. I've had a look at the first two wikis. Some pages are worse than others, some pages are particularly egregious Content Policy violations. Nevertheless, in sum, if we were to remove all the Content Policy violations on this wiki, this wiki would be left with zero pages, so we have a clearly systemic problem here. As well, given that in the case of crappygachatuberswikiwiki, the wiki's gone inactive, it's clear local administration has no interest in remediating the problems on the wiki. While badquotevuserswiki is not yet inactive, it has likely been spared inactivity from recent new user creations on the wiki. Thus, I'm inclined to delete these two wikis in accordance with Content Policy. In terms of horriblepoliticalfandomsandhatedomswiki, while the wiki appears to be trying to capitalize on the negative Toxic Fandoms & Hatedoms Wiki moniker, it actually appears to be a Reception wiki, of sorts, that proposes to write about notorious, sometimes brutal, world dictators and despots of years past. That in and of itself is not a Content Policy issue. In short, it may be coprolite, but it's not a Content Policy violation. That being said, it's six pages, and local administration appears inactive, what I might suggest for that wiki is to begin a local discussion on that wiki requesting the wiki be either (a) closed or (b) deleted, then return to this thread on stewards' noticeboard when the discussion concludes, requesting Stewards to close or delete the otherwise moribund wiki per the local community's request. How does that sound? Dmehus (talk) 04:35, 27 October 2021 (UTC)

@Dmehus: Okay, fair enough. FatBurn0000 (talk) 05:37, 27 October 2021 (UTC)

I will finalize this likely tomorrow or Thursday. Dmehus (talk) 05:59, 27 October 2021 (UTC)

I will request to adopt this wiki.

Recently, The New Reception Wiki was shut down due to the founder not wanting to work on it anymore. It was closed without any consensus and not even with any decision for a new leader. Therefore I would like to adopt it and possibly be able to merge it with my own wiki to give it more users if the community allows it, or to give The New Reception Wiki new leadership. I want to allow the users who were still using the wiki and chance to continue what they were doing. More info here TigerBlazer (talk) 19:57, 25 October 2021 (UTC)

Support by noting that TNRW had a little community of its own with a stake in its future. While the wiki always struggled to serve a clear purpose, it not only had users who contributed, it had at least one user who was seeking title and put in a reasonable request for adminship which may be found among recent blogs. The request, and the will of the various other bureaucrats was overridden in favor of the founder deciding since he didn't want to manage it anymore, nobody else could use it with zero input and after demoting almost every user. The exception appears to be an inert alt of an existing admin.
Given the scattered powers and various activity levels of the previous administration (several bureaucrats and no real policies, some totally inert staff), I would suggest this be conditionally reopened to allow for local elections that entirely replace the 'current' leadership, letting the interested prospective administrator be voted on for his request and for TigerBlazer to make his own request. Should that/either prove successful, the idea of a merge can be put forward to the remaining interested community. --Raidarr (talk) 20:41, 25 October 2021 (UTC)
Yeah, I probably would've taken care of the wiki like I was before, although Maddox121 could've and should've kept it open, meaning it could be taken care of by new bureaucracy, aside from the veteran bureaucrats and sysops there. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 01:06, 26 October 2021 (UTC)
While this is a good-faith request, I'm going to mark this request as  not done, for several reasons. For one thing, while this wiki has many attached users of the wiki, it has relatively few contributors, and less than a handful of significant contributors. Given that two of the wiki's three significant contributors have either explicitly or implicitly decided to close the wiki, I don't see a compelling reason to upend their wishes, at least not without gaining their assent or lack of objection for Stewards to do so. Secondarily, in terms of adoption and predating my start date as a Steward, there has been a convention among stewards that manually closed wikis are not eligible for adoption, ostensibly for a variety of reasons. For one thing, they could be inherently personal wikis, discussions to close wikis may have occurred off-wiki as sometimes or even often occurs in cases of wikis with small communities, or they may serve a very narrow niche and not be otherwise appropriate for administration by others without the consent of those that did all the "heavy lifting," so to speak, in terms of building the wiki. Finally, in looking at the pages on the wiki, the wiki does not appear to have, well, any defined purpose and scope, let alone well defined scope to it. As well, in other parts, there appears to be a significant degree of overlap with existing so-called Reception wikis. The recent reopening of manually closed greatcharacterswiki and loathsomecharacterswiki was a very different example, as those were very widely used wikis, with clearly defined purposes and scopes to them, which had many, many content pages developed by many, many users over the users, and it was very clear in those cases that local bureaucrats had made a procedural error in not providing some sort of notification to wiki users and how to register objections to their proposed closure. This is not the case here at all. That being said, if there are particular pages on this wiki of interest to you, and provided they do not violate Content Policy or Code of Conduct in any way, I'd be happy to export them into an XML dump, which you could import onto a newly requested wiki, taking care, of course, to define a sufficiently clear purpose and scope for your requested wiki and comply with Content Policy. Dmehus (talk) 04:17, 27 October 2021 (UTC)
You say two of three made the decision; the obvious one has been namedropped but who is the second? And secondly, note the main page linking to rationale that is rendered obviously unavailable from the wiki's closure. If any particular page is of interest for export, I think it would be that one unless it didn't lead to anything of substance. --Raidarr (talk) 08:35, 27 October 2021 (UTC)

The wiki's main problem was a lack of a clear vision, as there were quite a number of pages that didn't match what the wiki was about. However, right before its closure, one user had proposed what he wanted to do with the wiki due to its unclear direction and had planned out what he wanted to do to improve it, and his proposition never really was put into action because of the abrupt closure. However, you do make some good points about reasons for not reopening, but I would say to at least give it a second chance so said can continue what he wanted to do. Or at least, I would appreciate an archive of the pages to add to The Chill Place, since at least three users from that wiki have migrated there. TigerBlazer (talk) 10:24, 27 October 2021 (UTC)

We should at least be able to import the mh:thenewreceptionwiki:Qualitipedia and The Original Reception Wikis (2019-present), mh:thenewreceptionwiki:The Outcast Network, mh:thenewreceptionwiki:User Reception Wikis, mh:thenewreceptionwiki:The Character Reception Wikis pages, and any other page about a wiki or a forbidden topic on the Qualitipedia wikis (with the exception with pages about wikis that are not closed or there with the owner's approval). FatBurn0000 (talk) 20:46, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
and grusts blogs Gilimaster69 (talk) 20:57, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
Yeah, and also my sandbox and its pages, and also my Tiresome Wikis Wiki blog, and the blog that was about a user requesting to be an admin, and probably more. There are a lot of blog posts worth keeping. FatBurn0000 (talk) 20:48, 29 October 2021 (UTC)

Delete 2 of my wikis

Hello, can I get two of my wikis deleted? https://sm64videocreatingwiki.miraheze.org/wiki/Main_Page https://flusacka.miraheze.org/wiki/Main_Page Flusacka1235 (talk) 17:08, 27 October 2021 (UTC)

Flusacka, as either the only contributor or only significant contributor to these wikis, respectively, the latter of which also appears to be your own personal wiki, this is  done (#1 and #2), per your request. Dmehus (talk) 22:20, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

Dormancy policy exception

First of all, sorry for asking too much, but I need the following wikis: mh:svonibus:, mh:esonibus: and mh:buses: no longer have a dormancy policy. that, I'll barely be making edits to it (only while I have time). YellowFrogger (Talk Edits) 23:42, 27 October 2021 (UTC)

YellowFrogger Thank you for your request for an exemption to Dormancy Policy for each of svonibuswiki, esonibuswiki, and buseswiki, which I've now reviewed and assessed. In terms of a relatively inactive community, with only three to five contributors on one or more of the three wikis, and only one to three of which on the same are active, that part is easily met. However, as the only pages created on the wikis, aside from the wikis' Main Page(s), I could not find any created content pages, and the only created pages have been a handful of (presumably) Wikipedia-imported common templates, presumably with a bit of modification and de-Wikipedia-ification having been done. Dormancy Policy exists, principally, to allow Miraheze to ensure its system resources are used to maintain wikis with, chiefly, content made to be read by human beings or otherwise used as a resource. So, unfortunately, I have to mark this as  Not done on that basis, at this time. What you can do, instead, is simply make either one edit or one logged action every 45 days, to prevent your wiki from going inactive. Even if it goes inactive, you have a further 15 days in which to mark it as active before it goes closed per Dormancy Policy. Even if it's closed per Dormancy Policy, you still have a further four (4) months in which to reopen the wiki, thereby restoring the wiki to active status. Additionally, during that time, other members of your wiki's community can request to adopt the wiki or for Stewards to otherwise reopen the wiki. Hope that helps. Image Recovery from Lost wiki

Hi. I would like to recover images that I uploaded on this link if it's possible: https://exevze.miraheze.org/wiki/

```` Ekcja (talk) 22:24, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
Ekcja Unfortunately, your wiki appears to have been deleted in accordance with Dormancy Policy and the database dropped in this batch. While you can request to have the wiki restored via a Phabricator ticket, unfortunately, it won't be possible to restore your wiki's image files, as only the publicly available XML data (i.e., text) is backed up as part of unofficial, informal SRE deleted wiki backup processes. If it would still be helpful to restore your wiki's XML data, let me know, and we can proceed. That is to say, your wiki be would be restored, including the file pages; however, your image files housed in Media: virtual namespace won't be there. They'd be file pages without images. Delete reviwiki
Hi, reviwiki is closed but I ask that it be deleted immediately (I guess closed status will override the dormancy-exemption but who knows?). There are two (legacy) members but has 0 edit, live or deleted. Thanks. — revi 04:13, 1 November 2021 (UTC)
Revi  Done. Incidentally, the "save" box in Special:ManageWiki wasn't blue, but I realized afterword that was because I hadn't ticked anything yet. Nevertheless, I'm not certain I would've been able to delete and change the inactivity exemption in the same log action, as I found a bug earlier today in ManageWiki whereby I couldn't lock a wiki and make it private in the same log action. That being said, I doubt I would've needed to remove the inactivity exemption; I could've very likely just deleted the wiki. If you are wanting to reuse the reviwiki database name, note that there's a standard two week period before deleted wiki databases are eligible for being dropped, though that can, technically, be overridden by SRE, if say, you're wanting to rename reviwikiwiki to reviwiki. Dmehus (talk) 04:24, 1 November 2021 (UTC)
Can you delete my wiki
Can you delete my wiki, The Fowl House Wiki, since there seems to be very little interest in it and there don't seem to be any useful contributions to the wiki. I have privated and closed the wiki though I feel it would be better to just delete it. Also, unlike its sister wiki, The Fowl House Wiki does not have a FANDOM version. I actually requested to FANDOM staff to delete the FANDOM version of The Wow House Wiki (called The Anti-ScumHouse Wiki) so if they accept the request for closure and close the FANDOM version of the wiki, then I will request that the Miraheze version be closed as well.
Here is the link to the main page: The Fowl House WikiBlubabluba9990 (talk) 16:15, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
Blubabluba9990 As the only contributor to this wiki, this has been  done per your articulated request. Thank you. Dmehus (talk) 21:55, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
Ok. Blubabluba9990 (talk) 22:23, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
Update: You can now delete The Wow House Wiki since FANDOM accepted my request to close the FANDOM version of the wiki. I will continue to work on my wiki, Absurd Shows & Episodes Wiki, and also on the Qualitipedia wikis. I am sad to see both wikis go but they do not seem to be gaining interest from other users. Delete my account, pleaseǃ (global ban)
Can you please delete my account? (just give me a global ban if you accept, pleaseǃ) TheDarkestForest (talk) 18:35, 1 November 2021 (UTC)
TheDarkestForest Could you clarify this for me? What's the reason you're requesting a "global ban," as you put it? We don't have "global bans," per se. We have, in some cases, imposed global user restrictions. Additionally, user accounts have been locked for a variety of reasons, including abusing multiple accounts, engaging in blatant vandalism, engaging in crosswiki abuse and disruption, or, in the case of automated spam only accounts (a.k.a. "spambots"), spamming the abuse logs. Are you saying this is not your first Miraheze account and, if that's the case, what other prior account(s) have you used? Otherwise, can you provide a reason for a self-requested global lock? Dmehus (talk) 00:40, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
I want to delete my account, but I thought a global ban was different. Is there any way you could delete my account? TheDarkestForest (talk) 01:03, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
TheDarkestForest We can't delete accounts, per se. Rather, we can globally lock your account, allowing you to self-request an unlock via e-mail to stewards@miraheze.org at some point in the future, though if that's the route you'd like to pursue, I'd just like to ask why you created your account only yesterday and now you want to have it globally locked? Have you used Miraheze before, and if so, what name might we know you better by? Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 01:18, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
Please globally lock my account. TheDarkestForest (talk) 01:35, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
TheDarkestForest Are you able to answer my questions firstly? Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 01:35, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
TheDarkestForest Though I would've preferred you answer my additional questions for you, this has been  done. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 01:48, 3 November 2021 (UTC)
I do not want to use this account anymore
As what the title says, I am no longer planning to edit any more Miraheze wikis (only really edited ths trollpasta one anyway). Can you please indef block me seeing as unlike fandom, accounts can't be disabled on miraheze. Thanks. MikeShinoda2001 (talk) 00:03, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
MikeShinoda2001 We can actually disable your account, by way of a global lock. You would not be able to login to your account. But before I do that, I would like to ask whether you have a registered e-mail address on the account, so you can recover your password, should you need to do so in the event you wish to have Stewards unlock your account at some point in the future? As well, you also have the option of requesting a vanishing by Stewards whereby your account would first be globally renamed, then globally locked. Any private, non-public information is still retained with the account, so the account may recoverable at a later time. Alternatively, the Trust and Safety team has the capacity to execute a similar account information removal mechanism, but this removes all information from your account and it is irreversible. Please advise if you wish to proceed and clearly state how to proceed. Dmehus (talk) 00:27, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
just indef block me so i cant edit aka global lock MikeShinoda2001 (talk) 00:45, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
MikeShinoda2001 Fair enough, but indefinite blocks are applicable to Meta Wiki only, so since we use CentralAuth, you'd be able to edit on other wikis. Are you saying you want an indefinite Meta Wiki-only local block, or would you like a global lock? In the latter case, have you saved your login credentials in a safe place and/or added a registered, confirmed e-mail address to your account for the purposes of future account recovery? Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 01:20, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
Global lock MikeShinoda2001 (talk) 01:43, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
MikeShinoda2001  Done. The e-mail is stewards@miraheze.org to make any future requests. Dmehus (talk) 02:00, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
Help, embeded content not working
Hi, About a month ago all my embedded content stopped working (videos from youtube and vimeo, and google sheets). It says "content is blocked. contact the site owner to fix the issue". Can someone unblock the content for me, or point me to the information on how I can do it? There is a video on my front page if you want to look at the problem. Thank you.
@Jono.hughes For vimeo, it's being blocked by the CSP, so you'll have to go to phabricator (just use this form) and request that player.vimeo.com be added to frame-src. As for the others, can you show any examples of those not working? YouTube at least works for me. K599 (talk) 16:19, 3 November 2021 (UTC)
marbleraces
A week and a few days ago I requested marble race wiki and DarkMatterMan accepted, but the bot sent an error message "Exception experienced creating the wiki. Error is: Redis server error: socket error on read socket" in the request comments, then I noticed algodoo wiki which already covers marble races so I try to cancel the request, but I noticed the error on the request comments and just posted a comment about cancel there.
Now I'm just checking my farmer log and noticed this and turns out the wiki is already created it's just a bit corrupted (no default main page, no notfication to me that wiki created, i dont get bureaucrat)
Also if your darkmatterman next time pls send a comment reminding that my wiki's created, I didn't get notification and you just put "Another bug?" so I just thought its not created
Or is that marbleraces wiki created from someone else's request?
I want that wiki to be deleted as its already supposed to
Anpang  Done, as the only contributor to this wiki, to which the wiki had no content at all. Indeed, your only edit was to edit the Main Page to say something to the effect of "what the heck happened." That error you reported is a CreateWiki bug, or a jobrunner bug related to the same. I've reported it on Phabricator, but SRE seems at a loss to resolve it. When this happens, just report to Stewards' noticeboard and request local bureaucrat and sysop rights. Also, if you wouldn't mind fixing your signature to remove the line break, that'd be great. :) Dmehus (talk) 01:17, 7 November 2021 (UTC)
Recently I opened an adoption request for windowswiki, and as recommended, I made a local election, with the result being literally just one vote in favor. With the result, I think it's now possible to grant me the role of bureaucrat, and remove the old inactive one. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this adoption.  —Lakelimbo (talk)  17:03, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
Como aquele é um wiki inativo, um voto foi muito. YellowFrogger (Talk Edits) 01:03, 29 October 2021 (UTC)
Lakelimbo Though I agree windowswiki's community is fairly small and not very active, the reason why you've been unable to adopt it at Requests for adoption is because the wiki's community is active enough to preclude the wiki from going inactive and, ultimately, closed per Dormancy Policy. I'm also curious and a bit concerned why you've also either (a) requested Stewards to remove the existing less active bureaucrat(s) or (b) proposed to remove that bureaucrat, particularly when it's not clear that the bureaucrat is completely inactive or that they need to be removed merely because they've been less active. Wikis can, after all, and as a matter of good practice, have multiple bureaucrats. At the same time, given that the wiki does have a semi-active, albeit small, community, I'm reluctant to action this request as successful for a couple reasons. For one thing, you've not made any edits to the wiki locally, and the only supportive comment was from another user, who has also not contributed to the wiki in a significant way. For another consideration, since your stated rationale is to make major changes, I feel as those changes should undergo at least some undergo some sort of vetting, including by Stewards, so as to ascertain whether they should have a local discussion. To that end, Stewards can always be requested to make certain changes in absence of locally active bureaucrats, and we would be happy to do so, via this noticeboard. For example, if you require a certain technical change in ManageWiki in order to continue will building and contributing to the wiki, which, together, should help the wiki's local community get to know you better. Additionally, once that change has been done, Stewards can additionally be requested to implement a local sitenotice on the wiki, so as to better publicize your local election request to the community. Dmehus (talk) 21:50, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
I mentioned on Discord how the wiki went around 40 days without any edits, so I was just waiting to reach the 60 day limit so I could adopt without any issue, however, someone, out of nowhere, created a page with less than 20 characters in the last days, resetting the timer, and personally I don't consider this to be "semi-active". With this, Raidarr and Agent Isai recommended me to hold a local election, which I did, and had only one vote from Raidarr. And the reason I want the old bureaucrat to be removed it just that the user is really not using the wiki — nor Miraheze in general — anymore, but because MediaWiki accounts cannot be deleted normally, the user would still get emails for any higher level changes on the wiki.  —Lakelimbo (talk)  22:50, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
Lakelimbo Thank you for your clarification on your reason for holding a local election despite not being a contributor to the wiki. That being said, are there any ManageWiki changes you would like me to make locally, so that you can continue building the wiki whilst your local election request continues for a little while longer and would a local sitenotice be useful, in order to better publicize your stated reason for wanting to hold local bureaucrat rights on the wiki? Additionally, I would not assume that the existing bureaucrat has their e-mail notification settings set to the default to send e-mail notifications on user rights changes to the wiki (though I believe that particular setting in question only e-mails them if their user rights are changed, not any user rights changes to any user). Upon your local election's closing, would you also commit to leaving their user rights in place for at least a year, to see if they return, and even then, restore them upon their eventual return (given their involvement with and substantial contributions to the wiki)? Dmehus (talk) 23:05, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
There are no ManageWiki changes needed for now. And yes, the user can keep the rights for this situation.  —Lakelimbo (talk)  23:29, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
Lakelimbo Thank you. That's great to here. Please do see my extended local closing comments to the discussion. As such, this has now been  done on that basis. Dmehus (talk) 00:50, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
@Dmehus: Just to confirm: Am I allowed to request a recreation of the wiki on Phabricator (drop and create the DB again)? I can create a XML with the current pages (especially the election) and save it, if needed.  —Lakelimbo (talk)  14:29, 1 November 2021 (UTC)
Lakelimbo Hrm, would you be retaining the existing pages? If not, this seems more like you wanting to just take over an existing subdomain, windows.miraheze.org. If you're wanting to start fresh, my preference would maybe to consolidate the main content pages into a new namespace, then have that XML reimported, either by you or by SRE. Local election page could be reimported into project namespace, perhaps? That way the pages would all still be there and a local discussion could be had at a later date, should Orbitron return. Does that seem reasonable? Dmehus (talk) 01:13, 3 November 2021 (UTC)
@Dmehus: with the XML I mean I can export the current content from the wiki and save it on my drive, so if needed anytime, I can just upload the file to show the contents of the wiki previously.  —Lakelimbo (talk)  12:12, 3 November 2021 (UTC)
Lakelimbo, I guess that'd be fine. Maybe post a note at Orbitron's local user talk page, letting them know you have the XML and not easily salvageable images that can be reimported as needed. Dmehus (talk) 23:45, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
Pushing Recent Changes as far back as 180 days, there has been the following activity on the Windows wiki:
  • 20 October 2021: Beginning of adoption process, with known edits made after.
  • 3 October 2021: An edit to the Windows 10X‎ page by Tech Technology. This is the user's first and only recorded edit on the wiki, and indeed on the service as a whole. I presume here that this is an outlier action and not a reflection of local community.
  • 30 September 2021: Void user rename log.
  • 12 September 2021: Page creation of Windows 11 by a GDPR'd account.
  • 3 August 2021: Dmehus user rename log.
  • 17 June 2021: Last seen local bureaucrat and sustainably 'local community' activity; a page deletion, subsequent to wiki reopen and a Common.css tweak an odd three days prior.
I would argue sustainable local community has not existed since mid June, and based on the 180 day query the last action before my logged sequence was another dmehus rename from May. This is further evidenced by a glance at the official wiki Discord server which has been entirely inert since my inquiry posted on October 25th; before that, its general channel has not been posted in since June 15th. I think that while there were a few outliers to shake the usual 45 day inactivity process, he was quite reasonable in making the request and should be considered for a proper transfer of controls. In a half a year search, it's clear to me that there is hardly any community left for Lake to 'get to know' aside from the bureaucrat's reopen and very brief tweaks. These conditions seem to me as being placed for the benefit of a 'semi-active community' that does not exist. --Raidarr (talk) 00:13, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
Yes, I did consider that, but it's worth noting that local rename log do not preclude a wiki from going dormant or being closed per Dormancy Policy. They, together with user merge log entries, and a very limited number of other log actions, are the type of activity that does not keep a wiki from going dormant. In this case, it appears that Tech Technology's edit was what prevented the wiki from being closed in accordance with Dormancy Policy. On that basis, and since Lake has clarified their position on the wiki's substantial contributor retaining their user rights for an extended period of time, should they return to the wiki, I'm inclined to action this request now. Dmehus (talk) 00:22, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
Dormancy policy exemption
We kindly request that you exempt the following wiki from the Dormancy Policy. Thank you in advance!
Wiki: archiopediagrc.miraheze.org.
Reason: The wiki is an encyclopedia and a database (twin of the <archiopedia.miraheze.org> wiki); this means that it may not be edited for long periods of time, but it should remain active continuously in order for our readers to be always able to access it and use the materials that have already been uploaded. Publisher (Archiopedia) (talk) 21:35, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
Publisher Thank you for your request for an exemption to Dormancy Policy for archiopediagrcwiki, which I've now reviewed and assessed. Regrettably, I must mark this as  not done, for now, principally because your wiki contains only a Main Page and no content pages, uploaded original media creations in File: namespace, or really anything. I'm not quite sure if this is a wiki you intend to build. If that's the case, an exemption can be reconsidered once you've made significant progress on the wiki. However, as of this point in time, there's no basis for an exemption. Note, too, there could be a bit of misunderstanding in terms of when wikis are actually marked as deleted. There has to be zero log actions or edits on a wiki for sixty (60) calendar days, after which it's closed and eligible for adoption at Requests for adoption for a further four (4) calendar months. At any point during that time, you can reopen your wiki. Additionally, any contributor on your wiki can request Stewards to reopen your wiki, if they don't hold local bureaucrat rights. Wikis aren't marked as deleted until fully six (6) months of complete inactivity on a wiki. Even then, they can be undeleted by Stewards upon request, until such time as SRE drops the deleted wiki databases. Hope this helps. Dmehus (talk) 02:30, 3 November 2021 (UTC)
@Dmehus Thank you so much for your detailed clarifications! We will bring this back to you when we have something more substantial. Publisher (Archiopedia) (talk) 16:37, 3 November 2021 (UTC)
Delete PiotrGrochowski's wikis
Please delete Xen wiki and Wikicode Subsets which belong to the global locked PiotrGrochowski. Thanks! AlPaD (talk) 19:04, 4 November 2021 (UTC)
AlPaD I'm going to mark this as  not done as, while I feel the wikis are rather useless and a bit comprehensible, I don't feel that closure in accordance with Content Policy is warranted in this case. I would, however, consider any local discussion on one or both wikis, and if there's consensus to delete those wikis, that could be concerned. As a recently active contributor to those wikis, you're certainly a recently active community member on them and certainly justified in proposing such a discussion. Dmehus (talk) 18:16, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
Dmehus OK, thanks! AlPaD (talk) 08:15, 7 November 2021 (UTC)
Restore administrative groups/permissions
I seem to have backed myself into a corner on my private wiki, sarnland.miraheze.org. I requested it a few days ago, and I've never managed a wiki before so I was messing around with all the settings to learn the ropes. The trouble is, I mistakenly deleted the bureacrat or administrator group (I can't recall which) while I was changing around the wiki permissions. With the group gone, I've removed myself from it and have lost permission to manage my wiki's settings. Could you help me regain administrative acess to my wiki? Conroy (talk) 20:16, 4 November 2021 (UTC)
Waiting game for a Steward to appear and review unfortunately; hopefully one will be around within a couple days (perhaps today). The permission you must have is 'managewiki', which is granted by the bureaucrat group. Permissions are not inherited, what you are in is what you get. You could add managewiki to the admin group and have it there (wouldn't add just anyone to it since it lets you change everything), but you must have it at least somewhere or you're bricked. So a Steward will come in and restore the bureaucrat group, but a little background on what happened here. --Raidarr (talk) 08:26, 5 November 2021 (UTC)
Conroy,  Rights restored following  local restoration of your bureaucrat user group with the bureaucrat default permissions. Noting your log summaries when you deleted that group and the autopatrolled group, it isn't actually either of those groups that denies uses access to your private wiki. Indeed, by default, all users, other than advanced permission global users like Stewards, SRE, and Trust and Safety, cannot view your private wiki unless you give them either of the (a) sysop or (b) member user group by way of the included read user right. If you previously granted a user either of those groups, you can go here, and enter their username to revoke their view access. Dmehus (talk) 18:27, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
Change the subject of my wiki ?
Hi, If I wanted to change the subject of my wiki from Characters Wiki, which only deals with fictional characters, to Fiction Wiki, which also deals with games, locations, etc., would I be allowed to do so? Thanks in advance Darkrai18 (talk) 17:17, 5 November 2021 (UTC)
@Darkrai18: Of course. You can change the name of your wiki using the ManageWiki interface, and you can get the domain name changed by opening a request on Phabricator. — Arcversin (talk) 23:06, 5 November 2021 (UTC)
@Darkrai18: You can change the wiki name in ManageWiki/core YellowFrogger (Talk Edits) 23:03, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
I am requesting the deletion of QuIRC wiki (quirc.miraheze.org), as the project has ended and the wiki is no longer needed. Thanks Sario528 (talk) 21:54, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
I am also requesting the global lock for User:QuIRC and User:QuIRC-Office as these accounts will no longer be needed. Sario528 (talk) 21:57, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
Confirming control of account and request for global lock. QuIRC-Office (talk) 22:02, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
Sario528 Per primarily your articulated rationale that this very project-specific organizational coordination wiki for a project that is winding down operations, not to mention as the only significant contributor to this wiki, the wiki has been  deleted. In terms of your wiki specific official role accounts, those have also been globally locked per your same rationale and request (#1 and #2). Dmehus (talk) 03:15, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
I need help with nuking pages
On iaafwiki I imported pages but accidentally imported some modules as templates, And I don't know how to nuke pages, can a steward nuke ALL the pages I imported? InspecterAbdel (NLW) 13:48, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
@InspecterAbdel: I could help, but you made private the wiki. I think when you went to import, you accepted the "import templates" option YellowFrogger (Talk Edits) 14:31, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
Well how do you nuke pages? InspecterAbdel (NLW) 17:56, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
You should go to Special:Nuke on your wiki. Of course, if you have the nuke extension installed on the wiki. YellowFrogger (Talk Edits) 14:28, 10 November 2021 (UTC)
And I don't know how to use it InspecterAbdel (NLW) 16:12, 10 November 2021 (UTC)
InspecterAbdel Special:Nuke is a useful tool for nuking either (a) all pages within a given namespace, (b) all pages created by a given user or IP address (not necessarily by IP address range, though, as far as I'm aware), or (c) where you know SQL RLIKE syntax. Options A and B are fairly straightforward; option C is complex, and really outside of the scope of this noticeboard, due to its complexity as it really requires one-on-one training and you'd need to do your own educational "homework" in the matter. Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 04:02, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
InspecterAbdel Certainly. Please specify the templates/modules requiring deletion, or just the namespace they're in. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 04:03, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
Can someone delete "my" wiki
I don't like the idea of the wiki anymore, I'm gonna create another in another language
Request for Steward assessment
Due to me having participated in the two open requests at Meta:Requests for permissions and Southparkfan's current inactivity I'm requesting that a Steward assesses the two elections instead. Reception123 (talk) (C) 18:30, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
Reception123 Thank you for your request to have Stewards assess your local permissions election process on metawiki in lieu of locally available, uninvolved bureaucrats. I've left a brief note for the other bureaucrat on this wiki, with the hope that he may have e-mail notifications enabled for messages on his Meta user talk page. As there have still been a couple comments trickling in to those RfPs and since there's not a significant urgency to have those requests closed, my preference is to wait 2-3 days, to see if Southparkfan takes note of my note and closes those requests. If he doesn't, I'll return to this request in 2-3 days and assess those elections on that basis, as I typically do with wikis that have active communities (and Meta Wiki certainly has that). So, I'm placing this  on hold... until then. Dmehus (talk) 06:47, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
Reception123 This has now been  done, with my closing comments in the requested local election assessment request included therein. Dmehus (talk) 01:34, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
Deletion of roleplaying.miraheze.org
Per the title, I seek to remove this wiki from Miraheze. While I think its scope has potential at a community level, I have no interest in administering it and would have the domain left available for someone to request whenever. This is from a position as sole proprietor & contributor. Instead I seek to expand scope to a different project that accommodates the full range of what I wanted to do there and a good bit more; the expansion and rebrand is vast enough that I believe it would be a waste of all parties time to change scope past its wiki request and make various Phabricator tasks to see it done. --Raidarr (talk) 11:59, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
It's still going to be analyzed by a steward. The wiki idea would be interesting, but I think you saw it was useless. I think it would be good if you let someone adopt YellowFrogger (Talk Edits) 14:34, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
This was specifically a clerical request for Steward action; frankly I don't think there's anything an adoption would do that this path would not, since it allows a user to create a new version rather quickly with no strings attached. My latest project also renders this wiki redundant for its original intentions. However, if you or someone else would like to adopt it now for whatever reason (such as it is with literally no content worth inheriting), feel free to message me with your intentions and I can withdraw this request + offer rights accordingly. --Raidarr (talk) 14:44, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
Raidarr and YellowFrogger, for what it's worth, I think this was a misunderstanding on both of your parts. YellowFrogger, I think you may have misunderstood Raidarr's request by him requesting deletion, he was opposed to having the wiki be adopted. I did not see that at all. Raidarr, I think you may have misinterpreted YellowFrogger's comment that he was somehow trying to obstruct your deletion request or was wanting to adopt it. I took his comment as just a passing comment. I didn't find it to be particularly necessary, but I also didn't view it as either harmful or obstructionist in any way. Dmehus (talk) 07:55, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
Raidarr  Done per your articulated rationale because, as you say, this is essentially an empty wiki that no one is likely wanting to adopt and, moreover, given the potential popularity of the subdomain roleplaying.miraheze.org, it would be quite bureaucratic to have the wiki decay naturally. While the subdomain won't be immediately available, it will be available when SRE next run the script, provided a minimum of two weeks have elapsed from today. As well, as you noted, you're also the only contributor to this wiki. That being said, please do try and make sure you have sufficient time + interest to commit to a wiki prior to requesting a wiki. Dmehus (talk) 07:50, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
It is the final of the original three, none of which panned out. Hopefully the current entries have a much better shot, even if their own progressions are rather slow. Decay may have been easier but more under the radar, but I figured I'd call it as it is.--Raidarr (talk) 09:05, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
Yeah, I agree with that. If Miraheze subdomains were real estate, this would be akin to you registering a lakeview lot, a block or two back from the lake, and not developing it and allowing the weeds/sagebrush to become overgrown for the next six months. Thus, it's best to put that lot back into the available plots of land for community members to put to good use. Dmehus (talk) 16:23, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
Note
Stewards.
I confirm that this wiki ([1]), is mine and I use it for testing usually involving the interface, and personal annotations. I hope none of them get accidentally erased, inactivity or "lack of content". YellowFrogger (Talk Edits) 04:33, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
YellowFrogger, it shouldn't, as you are active on that wiki, and wikis aren't marked as deleted until there's been 180 days of complete inactivity (i.e., no logged actions or edits on the wiki during that entire time, notwithstanding global renames and user merges, if any). In terms of a potential request for an exemption to Dormancy Policy, I would say this is too soon, as there's only eight content pages, only one of which is more than a sub-stub class page. The images in your wiki's File: namespace appear to be images found elsewhere from on the web. Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 04:46, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
@Dmehus: I am not requesting a dormancy policy waiver. I'm just warning you. Initially this wiki was to document about the Proton game. However, it would take work, so i replaced this wiki for personal use. These files, probably football club emblems, I used to create a league, where the table would be, as there was no other place to create one. Most pages are meaningless, and I'll use this wiki for personal annotations and CSS testing, among others. Thank you for your understanding. YellowFrogger (Talk Edits) 05:01, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
YellowFrogger Ah, thank you for clarifying, and for updating us on your wiki's updated scope. That sounds fine. It might be worth copying your updated purpose and scope into your original wiki request as an added comment, perhaps linking to this discussion. Dmehus (talk) 05:09, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
@Dmehus: Thanks for understanding and responding, I always like opinions and conversations. I want you to volunteer for this part: I'm recently training my English so I don't want to use the translator because it has a lot of mistakes, and I joined a group on a social network where members have posted various things there, including audios. Recently, there was audio of a joke, with background noise and laughter (I think because they were laughing, I was the only one not laughing, obviously I didn't understand anything), and how you are a native English speaker (according to with your user page), I want you to see the audio and say here what it is / means / what this woman from the audio said, just to kill my curiosity. I'm not forcing you to do this, but the curiosity is great. Here is the audio link: [2] YellowFrogger (Talk Edits) 07:23, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
Dormancy Exemption - ProdeusGuide
Hi.
I'm putting in a request for exemption from the Dormancy Policy. The site prodeusguide.miraheze.org is a reference guide for the level editor in the video game Prodeus. Updates to the wiki site will be performed as features are added or changed in the game. Though I'd expect the content to remain static for the most part.
Cheers! Aircawn (talk) 12:52, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
@Aircawn: From what I've seen, at least this wiki has some content. Expect a steward to rate for exemption YellowFrogger (Talk Edits) 14:29, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
Aircawn, Thank you for your request for an exemption to Dormancy Policy. I've started an initial review, and will complete it by tomorrow, rendering and updating you on the decision tomorrow, as tomorrow is a statutory holiday. Dmehus (talk) 07:57, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
Aircawn Further to your request for an exemption to Dormancy Policy, I have now reviewed your request. We assess these typically in a two-part test, one of which is based on need and the other of which is (usually) based on ample content intended to be read by human beings (a limited number of other reasons for exemptions exist for very specific use cases). In terms of need, with a wiki community consisting of only five (5) contributors, only one (1) of which is recently active (you), that part is easily met. In terms of content, the second part, that part is a bit more difficult, as there's only about forty (40) content pages, which is a bit light. Nevertheless, diving deeper into the page size (i.e., quality versus quantity), as well as what appears to be a fairly significant number of original image creations (principally, screenshots) from your game, Prodeus, it's clear there's sufficient content intended to be read and used as a resource by real human beings. Thus, I've  granted this request on that basis, indefinitely. Please note, though, that this is an indefinite, not permanent, Dormancy Policy exemption, so if there's a change in terms of need, content, or other circumstances that your wiki no longer requires an exemption, it can be removed. Additionally, you're also encouraged to proactively update us at stewards' noticeboard should you knowingly expect to no longer require an exemption. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 04:56, 12 November 2021 (UTC)
Many thanks! Aircawn (talk) 04:20, 14 November 2021 (UTC)
Good Software Wiki
According to the ManageWiki log, this wiki was protected for no reason, and as a result, I can't edit pages. Could you please do something about this? Thanks, FatBurn0000 (talk) 13:12, 13 November 2021 (UTC)
FatBurn0000 It looks like the edit user right was removed from the * user group by then active local bureaucrats, ostensibly to disallow anonymous editing. However, it's part of the user group, so that shouldn't be preventing you from editing. Similarly, the namespaces are not protected. Ah, Moderation is enabled. I'll review your edits in lieu of locally active sysops. Dmehus (talk) 17:17, 13 November 2021 (UTC)
