Having trouble adding. Video to my sandbox

SpiderManDude, it is not good to ask admins to give them money to get unblocked. I wouldn't comment on what MarioMario456 said but you were probably blocked because of sockpuppetry. If you are not a sockpuppet and you believe the block was made in error, then simply call on for a review of your block without talking about money. If you wish to engage on Miraheze, I would strongly suggest you e-mail stewards at stewards(at)miraheze.org, explain on what wiki(s) you intend to focus on (with a strong recommendation from me to avoid the type of wikis you've been gravitating toward and which has found you locked more times than I can count on my two hands and two feet), and whether you will focus on your own wiki. User blocked at ATT for attempted SQL injection

User:Gani has just been permanently blocked at All The Tropes for (unsuccessfully) attempting to add SQL that would collect personally-identifying information without notification, which if it had worked would have been a violation of GDPR. This was the first edit that this user submitted to All The Tropes, so it was caught in the Moderation queue before being committed.

I just had the contents of the query passed to me by T&S and it is simply VoteNY's schema. The chance of an SQLi working is extremely low but in no way did this at any point attempt to violate GDPR or put users privacy at risk. Data wouldn't have been populated without enabling VoteNY and it's known and documented that it collects this information which we store appropiately. A user called Greatestmoviesfan might be abusing multiple accounts.

A user on Awful Movies Wiki known as Greatestmoviesfan has another account called Greatestmoviesfan189 which has the same type of behavior and comments as his main account: https://awfulmovies.miraheze.org/wiki/Special:Log?type=comments&user=Greatestmoviesfan189&page=&wpdate=&tagfilter= and because of this, I think Greatestmoviesfan created that account to evade his ban, which is obviously against Miraheze's rules, so I think he should blocked across all wikis. DarkMatterMan4500, as far as I can tell, DuchessTheSponge closed down the character wikis almost a month ago, and at first, we agreed that closing the character wikis was a good idea. But then, we realized what we had done, and thus decided to talk about bringing back the character wikis. Then, many people started to agree with us. The reason they will no longer be associated with Quailtipedia is because there will be no Qualitipedia admins, and instead, there will be a new team of admins running the wikis, which includes me, Shawn the Logo Boy. Ok. Can I be one of the admins too. I plan on creating another network of wikis, since I own Lousy Vehicles Wiki and co-own Lovable Vehicles Wiki, and I also have plans for reception wikis about stores, and Musicismylife has a bunch of other ideas for reception wikis. Both wikis do not have any Qualitipedia admins. I also own Absurd Shows & Episodes Wiki, a future part of The Weirdness Network, a network of wikis about weird media which has been temporarily put on hold due to my situation on Qualitipedia. I own two other wikis, The Wow House Wiki and The Fowl House Wiki, which discuss good episodes/characters and bad episodes/characters in The Loud House, respectively. Both of those wikis are independent, based on FANDOM versions (The Fowl House Wiki's FANDOM counterpart is closed), and do not follow the format of the Reception Wikis, instead being inspired by ScumBob Wiki and Anti-ScumBob Wiki. I'm of two minds here. From my first mind, I'm not seeing where there was a discussion, ideally on-wiki though a public non-invitation only Discord server (or similar) discussion could be considered. Raidarr mentions that there was a vote or discussion somewhere, so if he could point me to that so I can assess its breadth, depth, and procedural validity, that'd be great. From my second mind, these two wikis in particular cause the most problems for Stewards in terms of Content Policy and user conduct issues. As a rebuttal to my second mind, there does seem to have been a clear surrendering of rights, so reopening these wikis would provide an opportunity to have a proper discussion in terms of providing guidance to the reconstituted wikis' local communities. Additionally, a subsequent discussion would need to be held prior to any rights being granted. In any case, until I know when, where, and under what circumstances local discussions (if any) were held, this can't be progressed. Dmehus (talk) 22:12, 5 September 2021 (UTC)

In addition to above, there was a blog that was the spark for the character wiki's removal. It was unfortunately removed to leave no record, but I doubt that will stop the oversight of a Steward. Section "Can you please reopen 2 wikis?" below on the board offers as much case for recent discussion as there exists (mainly the same that I replied to). QP tends to operate through blog posts seeking inquiry, meaning there tend to be multiple blogs on a similar topic and a touch of confusion as far as aggregate opinion (especially since the discussions could not be held on the native wiki in question, instead in small part through CGW and through the QP meta linked above). --Raidarr (talk) 00:37, 6 September 2021 (UTC)

Aside from the assorted blogs (which is typically 'how things are done' with the strengths and weaknesses that come with it) there is not an organized discussion (talk page, StructuredDiscussions) to this effect, only the layered responses that lead to new blogs and culminating in a few users agreeing to lead and largely being given 'consent by default' from leading bureaucrats on QP. So the depth is about what is linked.
It was only closed by a few supports and the instinct decision of a bureaucrat after reviewing the (now deleted) original post, and incidental 'wait this isn't right' commentary has cropped up various times on CGW and QP meta ever since. The most substantive of these comments are linked by blog. There do exist assorted individual complaints that were raised in the meantime, by comments and I vaguely recall by very short lived SD posts. It's also worth noting that immediately after the closure, a number of regulars attempted to 'snowball' the issue with the effect of 'they were terrible anyways', likely in an effort to simply drop it and move on. Some of those users have since changed tune for the above linked blogs or otherwise let it go.
Perhaps to establish clarity for the future, issues of this gravity might be given a separate structure to vote and leave opinions (resembling how MH meta handles it or operating through the SD extension) if that would be more structurally compliant for what you're looking for. --Raidarr (talk) 08:22, 6 September 2021 (UTC)

This now brings up the larger problem of the non-existent consensus on Qualitipedia, with the bureaucrats making all of the decisions, and even when consensus is brought up, it is done by one of the bureaucrats rather than a regular member of the community. If that's being done on the Qualitipedia wikis, we have all the policies and conventions we need here. It just needs to be addressed to Stewards, citing applicable evidence, and we can be asked to determine if there was consensus or revert to the status quo in absence of that. Ok. There is hardly ever consensus for anything though, and I am unsure if there was consensus to shut down the Characters wikis. Furthermore, the admins agreed that closing both wikis was a bad decision, and there is a lot of talk here on Steward's noticeboard about re-opening them. If you are a member of the wiki and it was not manually closed by a wiki bureaucrat, you may add an entry at Requests for adoption. Otherwise unless there is additional context I'm afraid there is nothing that can be done on the Stewards' noticeboard. Why is the Rotten Websites Wiki closed all of a sudden?

The heading says that it's been closed because no one's edited the wiki in the last 60 days, but I am certain that there were edits as recent as yesterday.

Unless this is because of the wiki exceeding some kind of boundary that warranted shutting it down, I'm very confused here. NoJustNo84 (talk) 06:22, 25 August 2021 (UTC)

@Agent Isai:Same Issue with its sister site on the Fresh Websites wiki, I don't know the recall the exact usernames of the local admins so I wouldn't be able to contact them elsewhere, this might be an issue with all of the new Reception wikis, could you find out what is going on there, thank you. NoJustNo84 As per my comments elsewhere, please note I have reopened each of the two wikis. Additionally, as I could find no indication where a community discussion was had locally on each wiki to modify the default bureaucrat permissions to allow local bureaucrats to remove the bureaucrat bit from other bureaucrats, I have reset that to the default setting. This will ensure that local bureaucrats must either request a Steward to ensure any request for removal of this group is done in line with any community-established policies governing such removals or have a local discussion to duly delegate this authority to local bureaucrats, though on the point about the local permissions additions and removals, I noted a lack of any sort community-established process in this regard. Additionally, given the obvious lack of local community consultation with regard to the closure and the lack of any community-established process governing permissions additions or removals (looking at the respective Special:Log/rights logs on each wikis), it seems to have been done very ad hoc, often with wheel-warring occurring over rights additions and removals, which itself suggests a complete lack of community consultation, I don't feel it is appropriate for Stewards to restore any permissions. In any case, the most important role for Stewards has been done here, which is to reopen both wikis to allow one or more substantive community discussions to occur on the respective wikis discussing (a) the future of the wikis and, if the wikis are to continue to remain open, to discussing (b) the process by which the advanced permissions are granted or removed. Once those community consultative processes have concluded, please post a note here, ideally in a new thread and linking to this thread in some way, for Stewards to assess those local consensus processes and effect the community's desired outcomes. Two wikis in our network got shutdown without any consensus.

So Rotten Websites Wiki and Fresh Websites Wiki got closed by one of our bureaucrats, claiming that "a lot of people wanted these wikis gone". However, there is no evidence of any sort of agreement or consensus among the other admins or the community about this decision. All the other bureaucrats got demoted from those wikis, so is it okay if one of you guys can give me bureaucrat and admin rights on those two wikis (I was a former bureaucrat on those wikis BTW) so I can undo the closing and demotions? This was done by a rogue admin who is being handled on other associated wikis as a preventative measure; on this wiki all other staff were apparently demoted including DMM ^. This issue needs to be investigated. It was done with zero support from the community, but more importantly it overruled other admins and bureaucrats, including the designated leaders. Thus it was a coup, and I believe fully in scope for the Stewards to interfere (I'd hope, at least). --Raidarr (talk) 16:33, 25 August 2021 (UTC)

Literally nothing was wrong with the wikis. At least the character wikis somewhat had a reason, but the website wikis' closure were abrupt. DuchessTheSponge didn't even think about what other people thought, he just closed the wikis, like when he just removed Season 6 & 8 of SpongeBob SquarePants on Terrible Shows & Episodes Wiki, even though Season 6 and 8 were hated by many, just like he combined all seasons of the original Johnny Test onto Terrible Shows & Episodes Wiki, even though a lot of people considered the first three seasons to be good. I made a blog post about it, which didn't even bash him, and I got a two week block on TSEW. That's when I started to strongly dislike him. I'm glad he's demoted now. Void That's awesome. Yeah, DuchessTheSponge clearly didn't think this through at all, but as long as the demotions are restored, that's all that matters. Can we also place the character wikis up for adoption given the half a dozen users that have complained here and on the CN about their closure and given that the discussion was:
  1. Incredibly brief (less than a day)
  2. Done without a site notice for most of that day
  3. Done on a different wiki
I fully understand if the administrators wish to walk away from a wiki and want it disassociated from their other wikis. However, I don't think they should be able to dictate that what would be an entirely separate wiki on Miraheze should not exist especially given that the content policy has an explicit clause allowing for forks. ~ El Komodos Drago (talk to me) 19:34, 26 August 2021 (UTC)

If we allowed such a request then anyone could claim they are X user and demand the same thing. As regards to the farm's reputation, Miraheze is not responsible for the content that the Reception wikis create so if people see Miraheze negatively because of them that is not correct. Can you delete the NSFW and NSFL templates?

I think these need to be removed from the Reception Wikis because the page don't show any pornographic content, the templates clutter the pages, they get added to the pages for no reason, and they often cause other users to engage in edit wars, so I think it's time both of the pages were deleted from the Reception Wikis. He's been causing a lot of trouble on the Reception Wikis, such as spamming comments and topics, vandalizing pages, as well as sending death threats to another user on Best TV Shows Wiki, all of which got him blocked on a few Reception Wikis, including the games ones. He even promised not to do any of those things again, but broke his promise not to spam comments, and now he's pretty much crossed the line by writing off-topic comments and topics on a wiki that has nothing to do with the other. Plus, he's been blocked too many times and I even warned him not to cause anymore trouble ever again, but is still doing so, so his time on Qualitipedia is up. Hey, so Loathsome Characters Wiki and Great Characters Wiki have been closed, and we actually have a discussion on reopening them, and everyone seemed to agree, and nobody objected to this, and several admins like MarioMario456, Blazikeye, and DarkMatterMan4500, admitted this was a dumb idea and supported this decision, as seen in here, and here. Also, TigerBlazer, the one who made the decision to close them down, actually regretted it, and stated that "he felt like an asshole for making that blog". Also, the vote was improper as there were less than a dozen votes, and before the (clearly numerous) oppositions or input were able to be made. That's absolutely a discussion suitable for an appropriate talk page on the wiki if it is reopened. Raidarr, can you point me to some sort of discussion, whether locally or on Qualitipedia Meta, to shut down the wiki (if such exists)? I'm reluctant to reopen the wiki until I've seen that. You've pointed me to existing discussions calling for it to be reopened and have indicated there was some discussion, somewhere, to shut it down, but suggested that discussion was procedurally flawed. Shortly after the character wikis closed @TigerBlazer: wrote a discussion about the closure of the character wikis, "Why I Think The Character Wikis Should Be Deleted". However, he soon regretted this and deleted the blog. Then, I came up with this idea: reopen the character wikis, but delete any opinionated pages (Mr. Krabs., Cheese from FHFIF, Boa Hancock, etc.) Two days later, Kingjorbs told the stewards to reopen the character wikis, and have himself, TheAnimeLover, myself, and Mr. Jay 641 be admins of those wikis. Shawn has provided an abridged background. As far as the direct catalyst for wiki closure, I believe you actually looked at it (via undelete and redelete of the linked blog post). The action was taken exactly at the time of Duchess's first reply in that blog after a couple of supporting replies before. As written, I'm inclined to say this would be too broad and have too much potential for false positives for many of those. Besides, they'll invariably just move on to adopting new verbiage. One could argue swiftly locking and blocking them, not providing a custom lock reason as they want, is the better course of action. Mahmoud Refaat Wiki is a work site for the European Institute for International Law and International Relations (EIIR). EIIR people won't always have time to update the wiki every 2 months, but nevertheless it has some online books that shouldn't be taken offline, since this wiki is designed to be like Wikibooks or Wikisource. I need to reclaim Chromeball wiki back to the original staff

This wiki is inactive, the admin and bureaucrat called "ThatDudeRightHere" have abandoned it, hasn't made a single edit, and doesn't give the former Chromeball wiki staff their right. I together with a user called "IndividualistMax" (he used to be in the original staff) are the only 2 editors there. I'm unable to contact with ThatDudeRightHere since I can't find his Discord and Fandom account. I need the Miraheze Stewards to demote ThatDudeRightHere so I and Max can reclaim this wiki and complete my revamp plan. I also contacted all the old users of the former Chromeball wiki on Fandom (It was closed by Fandom). I believe this is a fresh start for a wiki that has the potential to surpass its old Fandom-version. PercyUK also said that the wiki needs a bureaucrat with access to enable services, and he recommended applying for adoption and explaining the need for rights. Dear Team, with German language settings the link "Donate to Miraheze" (in German "Spende an Miraheze") in the footer leads to a not existing page (https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/Spenden). I believe that the correct link should be https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/Donate/de.

Someone kicked me off Astonishing Scratchers Wiki, a wiki I made and closed it.

Today, I found out that an admin of Astonishing Scratchers Wiki took my admin and bureaucrat role away from me and decided to close the wiki. I didn't approve of this. That category selection in Miraheze is not what it is built from. The main point that would be a violation is if it diverges from how the wiki was originally requested or operates in a way that appears deceptive; the latter is not proven and the former would take better research. At this point it seems like you're grasping at straws to try and get the wiki shut down. Overall description and appearance takes precedence over that frankly poorly done detail. It makes little sense to get multiple inputs - including Reception, a global sysop - asking for details when nobody could manually find details, provide easily debunked details, and then circle around to say the wiki 'clearly' violates multiple policies including Code of Conduct, which strictly speaking isn't where wikis are held up to anyways since that is for user conduct. This process works when reports offer credible evidence, and you have not offered any. DarkMatterMan4500 has been falsely accusing users of being a "WG8686 Sockpuppet" without any valid proof, as he accuses them over opinions. Like for liking " Pokemon, WWE, The Sims, and Grand Theft Auto"

I am requesting a Checkuser on these 2 accounts because a few admins have suspected that Mictrons and Stroke bench are the same person, given that Mictrons was blocked based on some of his comments on Awful Movies Wiki and share the same grammar as Stroke bench like these examples here. Given that Stroke bench also asked people to support zoophiles, and watch how he admits to sockpuppetry in this here sentence here (given that it was removed to cover it up, but still a crucial mistake). That comment where he admits to sockpuppetry definitely tells me that it's likely Mictrons, especially since he also made this comment, still mentioning the suspected master. Given that both of them were created on exactly the same day, with both accounts being created exactly 9 hours and 38 minutes apart from each other and both of them registering on the Terrible Shows & Episodes Wiki, I'm pretty confident that they are both the same person. I found out that an admin decided to demote me from my own wiki and close it without my permission. I made a post about it but it just got ignored so I'm hoping that this one doesn't get ignored before the wiki closes. Question about dormancy policy pertaining my wiki

gnd.miraheze.org - My wiki is private and only for myself. I use it as a more professional way to flesh out the universe of a personal story. Many of the pages will be character / item and location bios, these would only change in the event that i develop more for my world.. As i've set this as a private wiki, nobody else is helping me with this or has access.

I left a note on my wiki's request when i was filling it out asking whether the dormancy policy would still count for me even with the above given but it seems it wasn't answered.

If i had to fit my situation to one of the exemptions detailed, it would probably fit the first one: "Wikis made to be read, where a lot of information is already on wiki and doesn't need to be actively edited"

I'd appreciate any insight as to whether i qualify for an exemption from the dormancy policy.

P.S;I plan to do this for another wiki i am currently requesting, which will be following the same format; Private Wiki that acts as an archive for my project, with loads of written data that will see very little changes. I will cross reference this topic in that request too.

@NA19: For future reference, please note that inactivity exemptions are not granted by wiki creators and thus, asking for an exemption in a wiki request won't lead you to have the exemption granted. If you meet the requirements for an exemption as outlined in Dormancy Policy then a Steward will mark your wiki as exempt from inactivity per this request. Namespace translation glitches on Nonciclopedia

also if you use the search function it's easier to see untranslated namespaces, just use the searh functiona nd if you try to select namespaces from the chack boxes you can see several are unstranslated

Also, when editing, what might happen is that you were visualizing the correct version of the page when reading but as as soon as you go to edit, sometimes it reverts back to the version of the page that has the "Discussione:"(Talk) or "Discussioni utente:"(Page talk) not seen as translated namespaces, so it treats it as it if were something from the main namespace. this can also inadvertently create two pages with the exact same name, that can cause other weirdness when trying to access the correct one MrApocalisse (talk) 07:42, 22 September 2021 (UTC)

If you mean to perform a CU on them, it can't compare the data of metawikimedia and miraheze meta. To put it simply, CheckUser isn't needed here. These accounts were created long ago and, personally, I don't think we need to check if they are the same person considering their inactivity on miraheze. Yes, it may be the impersonation of those accounts but it is too late to ask them either. There's something wrong with the comment section.

Whenever I add a comment to a page on a Reception Wiki, a reply to another comment that's older than the one I made always appears under my comments at the end of the comment section. For example: I put this link [[En:Apache Vip IV]] on this page and it stayed there in other languagues, the word "English" (because a steward (I think it was the Dmehus) put an interwiki prefix in english for me 1 year ago)

Your request on stewards' noticeboard was a bit unclear in terms of which wiki(s) you wanted interlanguage prefixes, too, though. You should ideally please specify the wiki to which you want your Special:Interwiki interwiki table edited and what links you want added to that table. The following wikis need their database names changed:

Note: For length reasons, I wrote the database names rather than the actual URL names.

This was proposed in the early stages of the rebrand, but was delayed when the rebrand got derailed after the user in charge of the rebrand, FreezingTNT, was demoted and blocked. Since the rest of the rebrand is complete, it is time to rename the wikis. The actual wiki names themselves have been updated, but not the database names/domain names. I will inform you how structural changes work on Miraheze in turn. Things are ideally done with community consensus, including wide-reaching votes and ideally the system known as Request for Comment. If such does not happen, the legitimacy of any initiative - including the rebrand which, as you linked, was primarily driven by a few members of the conversation making all the decisions - is not binding at all. Quite a bit of the context has additionally changed since then; you are pushing a plan that has not updated for the times including current membership and management. Without that there is the second level, the staff of the wikis themselves to make decisions. Per Miraheze policy, things like this are filed on Phabricator, and phabricator tasks regarding wikis should be filed by bureaucrats from those wikis. I quote this line in particular,
"All Miraheze users are free to file bug reports and to give feedback. However, for more sensitive issues such as custom domain requests, article imports, database name changes, changing of restricted settings, among others, it is recommended that bureaucrats should be filing those issues. Even if you are a sysop, it is recommended a bureaucrat files the task. "
And since the bureaucrats have changed significantly since that discussion, it's probably a good idea to get them to comment. As anointed leader, DarkMatterMan would be the best choice. Frankly, it's not your place to be making the request, nor to tell people 'this was decided' as though it was decided in a legitimate way that can be actioned on by Stewards or Sysadmins of this platform. It's not that I think these database name changes are a bad idea - I support them as logical - but the way you are going about this is simply off, much as I've attempted to explain to you on QP itself. --Raidarr (talk) 16:33, 26 September 2021 (UTC)

In good-faith, you should credit the original source directly if it is all copied, credit the original source for every section that remains copied, and if you rewrite sections, rewrite basically the entire page in your own words. There's a user by the name of Hamzat213 who keeps posting political comments mostly about supporting communism, and breaks his promise not to do so anymore after getting unblocked, and now he's gone out of his way to make a hate blog about me on LCW, and even threatens to commit suicide if I block him on that wiki (which I even can't), so now I believe it's time for this user to be globally locked because of how much trouble he's caused and he can't be trusted on Qualitipedia anymore. Not being trusted on QP is not necessarily cause for lock across the entire Miraheze problem, which is much bigger than the reception wikis themselves. These reception wikis... every time I go here, there's a problem, and it's always related to reception wikis. Miraheze has to be careful when hosting these types of wikis, or else strengthen self-patrolling on these reception wikis. So again, not being trusted on QP is not a case to use, nor is a 'gochya, see look how the stewards are so weak' argument to bait them to action. Action is taken with evidence of clear vandalism or Code of Conduct/Terms of Use violation. This case requires clearly presented evidence to expect any progress as it is a sticky local topic that likely has no reason to come first in the schedules of stewards. That said, I will provide some things for review.
Based on the first scenario (my exposure to him) I'd say he's on very thin ice at least. Maybe see if he makes it on the 'ball' wikis? The earliest comment on link 3 isn't exactly endearing. Later comments are more contrite. I accidentally deleted a role and now i can't edit ManageWiki.

Hello, I created a wiki with this website, and I'm still a bit new. I only had this Wiki site for a few hours, and a few minutes ago, I was trying to prevent unknown users or new users from editing or making any pages with the wiki. I assumed i was an Administrator, so, logically, I ended up deleting every role except bot, and what was going to be, Administrator.

I then realize that the menu is now gone. And I cannot edit anything.

I am unsure what to do now, and would appreciate any help anyone would be able to provide, thank you. TimeWisely (talk) 05:38, 28 September 2021 (UTC)

@TimeWisely: that's very unfortunate and I strongly suggest more care in the future, because it may take a bit of time for a Steward to be able to correct this by manually rebuilding the permissions you need. Permissions are naturally divided in mediawiki. You would mainly want to tweak the permissions - remove editing rights from * and add it to the groups you want to be able to edit. Because of the division natural to MediaWiki it was only added once, so you must add it to the groups you want to do it including yours. You see the power of the tweaks even at this level.
Now more importantly, true power is in two positions. One is administrator and the other was bureaucrat. Administrator is the right to manage a great deal of the wiki manually. Bureaucrat specifically allowed you to manage all user groups and use the ManageWiki tool. The split applied to this too. By removing bureaucrat you have destroyed the possibility of using ManageWiki and probably due to the way you purged everything else, you have no inherited ability to edit pages. So you see why this become an issue for Steward intervention; with luck they might have the time to handle this, so I will ping Void and dmehus (hey, worth a shot) and refer them to your wiki, which for reference is SkyeWiki.
I'm sorry you had to encounter this, I can only plead for caution and if necessary, perhaps seek an experienced assistant so they can safely accomplish the goals you wanted in detail. --Raidarr (talk) 08:26, 28 September 2021 (UTC)
Yikes, I didn't know this was even possible, I thought it would stop me at the role I myself was assigned to, my main intention was to try and rebuild it manually, but had I never used MediaWiki before, I ended up getting a bit flustered and just deleted the roles, would it be possible that the wiki could just be wiped and reset? As well, it seems that a user restriction is now again necessary, this time with global rather than Meta-only applicability given your propensity to request, and have created, multiple wikis, make few or zero edits, then abandon them, often requesting deletion. While I believe your behaviour is in good-faith and with good intent, the fact that others (specifically, PercyUK) have even gone so far as to propose an RfC to try and restrict the wiki creation of wikis suggests you've hit the last nerves of multiple Miraheze community members, so it cannot be ignored, even if that RfC was both unclear and procedurally not the best venue for rectification.
