Hello, can lock my Miraheze account? I'm leaving Miraheze and will never active on Miraheze again. LoudLWN2020 (talk) 13:32, 25 October 2020 (UTC)

@LoudLWN2020: We're sorry to see you leave, but if there's something we can do to change your mind, let us know, and we may be able to help. If you ever do decide to return, you can either (a) request an unlock via e-mail or (b) start fresh with a new account, taking care to consider user accounts policy. Vandal on various wikis

Ilikemoney has been vandalizing on multiple wikis.

    Here's some evidence: diff #1, diff #2, diff #3, and diff #4 DarkMatterMan4500 14:44, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

@DarkMatterMan4500: Thank you, this is a much better report. I haven't looked at all the users' contributions globally to assess whether a lock or further local blocks are required, but at least you've provided some of what you view as the best evidence of this user possibly being a vandalism only account. It is acceptable to use external links as opposed MirahezeMagic pseudo-interwiki wikilinks or interwiki wikilinks. I have made a small change to your report, by adding displayed text to the diff links, to reduce the textual bloat of the URLs. That would be my only suggestion for future reports. Your report should be reviewed in due course. Dmehus (talk) 14:53, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

    Local administrator request

Hello, as an administrator of this wiki, I would like to request the expansion of the administrator role to these users: Rod, Acronius, Valdiu, and UncleStas. (To provide additional oversight on the actions of the administration (i.e. mass Vandalism by administrators), and also wiki currently lacks a wiki owner/steward to create new admins.) Gorbatov (talk) 00:46, 30 October 2020 (UTC)

@Gorbatov: Hi. While this is no obligation, if there are no local policies, it's probably a good idea to follow Meta's election policy regarding time and leave the election open for around 5-7 in order to give everyone time to comment. Otherwise, you can define your own terms such as the percentage required for someone to become admin (if they wish to do so). Once that's done, a local bureaucrat can close the election and assign rights to whoever is successful. Alternatively, if there is no active local bureaucrat you can get a Steward to close the election and assign the rights. Reception123 (talk) (C) 07:46, 30 October 2020 (UTC)

Why the hell did you shut down Fandoms/Hatedom!?

    --Streetzbro (talk) 02:59, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

@Streetzbro: Simply because that wiki, together with several others, had systemic Content Policy violations containing grossly offensive and unsourced, wholly negative and defamatory content about users. Additionally, many of those wikis' users violated the Code of Conduct with their block and edit summaries. In short, the wikis did nothing but trash talk other users. Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 03:20, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
Streetzbro, no need to make a topic heading that sounds overreacting or uncivil. --Hookuai (Talk to Nuclear Jaws) 07:31, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
You don't have to be so RUDE about it. It's just a wiki. Paprika (talk) 13:42, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
@Hookuai and Paprika: While I agree the question could've been phrased more nicely, I assume good faith that Streetzbro was reacting somewhat emotionally as a result of the loss of a wiki they frequented. It was an emotionally upsetting event, so I tend to cut people a bit of slack in that regard. Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 15:16, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

    Local interwiki administrator request

@Lily: Thank you for making your request for local interwiki administrator on each of your above three (3) wikis at community noticeboard. Please note that I have administratively moved it to this noticeboard, where it is now in scope. Requests for local interwiki table changes on wikis continue at community noticeboard, whereas local permissions requests which can only be granted by stewards should occur on stewards' noticeboard. A steward should attend to your request within a few days to a week, but I will make sure this is relisted, to prevent archiving, until it is actioned. As well, I thought I should also note this revision in which you noted that Manuela was your alternate account on one or more of those wiki(s), effectively making you the only local bureaucrat on those wikis. Vandalizing troll ruffian on Loathsome Characters Wiki

This guy has been vandalizing a couple articles on that wiki by adding nonsense/gibberish into it. Here's the diff revision ID: diff #1 diff #2 diff #3 diff #4 diff #5 and diff #6 DarkMatterMan4500 17:12, 4 November 2020 (UTC)

@DarkMatterMan4500: Haven't looked at the contributions, but have you tried reaching out to a local administrator on that wiki to locally warn and/or block the user first? Global Sysops should only act if, after a reasonable period of time, vandalism has gone unremediated. If you have, then, yes, a Global Sysop can take action here. Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 17:15, 4 November 2020 (UTC)
    @Dmehus: I tried, but I haven't heard a response from them.  DarkMatterMan4500 17:19, 4 November 2020 (UTC)
@DarkMatterMan4500: Okay, thanks, I'll {{ping}} @Reception123: to take a look at your diffs, which will be helpful, and locally warning and blocking for now. If they continue vandalizing other wikis, then further action can be taken. Dmehus (talk) 17:21, 4 November 2020 (UTC)
    @Dmehus: Sounds good.  DarkMatterMan4500 17:22, 4 November 2020 (UTC)

    Vandalism

Hi, I have some vandalism on the following page: https://r2.miraheze.org/wiki/Trello. I don't know how to go back to an old version. Can you please help me with this and learn me how to go back to a certain version? Regards, Tim, Timboliu999 (talk) 16:27, 3 November 2020 (UTC)

@Timboliu999: I would like to apologize for reverting an edit without even realizing that it was supposed to be there. I won't ever do something like that again, and would like to say sorry for that edit I made. DarkMatterMan4500 16:34, 3 November 2020 (UTC)
@Timboliu999: It's done. Interestingly enough, the last good version was ID 99999. Naleksuh (talk) 16:35, 3 November 2020 (UTC)
@Timboliu999: Whether you are an administrator or not, you can simply edit the latest revision prior to said vandalism, and, when you save that revision, it will overwrite all subsequent revisions to the revision which you edited. Alternatively, if it is blatant vandalism and you have the rollback user right, you can simply rollback the vandalism. Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 16:35, 3 November 2020 (UTC)
@Dmehus: In this case, the vandalism was from multiple user accounts, and was somewhat more complex to revert. However, I have since reverted it, so this discussion is now archived. Naleksuh (talk) 16:39, 3 November 2020 (UTC)
@Naleksuh: Okay, fair enough, but even still, if all subsequent edits have been either vandalism or minor edits that can be easily restored, a restoration of the old revision could still be done. And, I did want to assist @Timboliu999: with correcting it in the future. Dmehus (talk) 16:42, 3 November 2020 (UTC)

@IvanTheGreat: First off, I wasn't even harassing you. There was a reason why I was continuously blocking you because you keep on abusing multiple accounts. So that right there is a lie and you know it. Second, I only said that to you because you were getting on everybody's nerves. And last, but most certainly not least, that proof barely even shows anything. So overall, I may not exactly hate you as a person, but you've been annoying nearly everyone else, including me on both Miraheze and Discord, and this is getting ridiculous. You also shouldn't be slandering other users like that. In fact, you shouldn't be lying to the Stewards about that, because all I did was say something in a way that would tell you to stop with all this sockpuppeting. DarkMatterMan4500 00:53, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

Was this page removed before by Stewards

https://crappygames.miraheze.org/wiki/YandereDev I am just asking this, since the stewards removed the page before. And the users didn't ask the stewards permission to recreate the page, similar to the Inkster page. IvanTheGreat (talk) 18:45, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

@IvanTheGreat: If it was deleted by a steward, it is highly unlikely the log entry for that page's deletion would be suppressed. Therefore, if there is no record of its deletion, I would suggest it is highly unlikely it was deleted by a global functionary. Dmehus (talk) 19:14, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
I checked the deletion log and the page was removed before.
22:43, 2 March 2019 Void talk contribs deleted page YandereDev (violates Terms of Use, see talk for full details) IvanTheGreat (talk) 19:25, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
@IvanTheGreat: That's odd, as the Terms of Use is normally enforced by system administrators. Perhaps @Void: meant Code of Conduct? I'm not sure. It's possible the page is now compliant, I'm not sure, but this does nevertheless need either a steward or a system administrator to review, if the Terms of Use was indeed the policy cited. Dmehus (talk) 19:57, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
Meh, looks like the page has resolved the issues it was originally deleted for. There's nothing that stands out as being immediately objectionable. I would have preferred to review, but as I recall, I think a review was asked for, and nobody got around to it. Also, it appears that my full rationale for deleting the page was deleted itself (here if you have access). I don't really object though, since it would possibly cause more confusion. -- Void Whispers 20:41, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

    Can someone do a checkuser?

I think that this user is abusing multiple accounts (IP adresses). So can you use a checkuser on the following addresses? All of them tend to request things to other users against their wills.

The main reason why I want you to do so is because that all of them seem to behave awfully similar to each other in the comment section but on differnt pages (Such as 20th century fox, blog posts related to Pokemon, etc). RedTheShadowWarrior73 (talk) 06:36, 6 November 2020 (UTC)

Why do my wiki requests keep getting declined? I'm not mad, upset or anything like that, I just wanna know why. Nersh1rtXD (talk) 22:36, 6 November 2020 (UTC)

@Nersh1rtXD: Firstly, your first request was declined per Content Policy as your wiki proposed to be solely a "shitposting wiki," as I believe you phrased it. Secondly, its purpose, scope, and topic was vague and unclear. And finally, you created a second request, rather than editing your existing request. Dmehus (talk) 22:44, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
@Dmehus: Oops. I guess I should've explained my request better. Anyways, sorry about that, while I did intend for the wiki to be humourous and satirical, I don't intend for it to be like the infamous "fun shitposting wiki" or "encyclopedia dramatica". I plan for the humour on my wiki to be more tame compared to that. I'll edit my first request and if I still can't host it here, I'll host it on another wiki hosting site. @Dmehus: I edited my first request. Hopefully the topic about what I want my wiki to be about should be more clear this time. Nersh1rtXD (talk) 23:20, 6 November 2020 (UTC)

    Active wiki closed for inactivity?

Hello there, I am an administrator from Comic Crossroads and I'm not sure who to refer to but I have been facing this rather odd issue: for two times now, the wiki has been automatically closed for “inactivity” even though we make sure to regularly editing it, this has not been a problem before but over this month it has becomen more problematic. I don't know if the issue is already known or anything, but I hope this helps. If this is not the right place, I apologize, though please redirect me to the proper channels.

Regards, JoyfulKindred (talk) 14:07, 7 November 2020 (UTC)

@JoyfulKindred: Not a steward or anything like it, but this issue is already know as some wikis I looked into are closed, even though they are active. On the discord announcements channel, it said "We are aware some wikis have been marked as closed when they shouldn’t have been. If you are able, just go to Special:ManageWiki, and uncheck the close box, then click submit. If you are unable to do so, contact a system administrator." You can contact a bureaucrat in the closed wiki and ask them to uncheck the close box, then click submit. If a bureaucrat or you can't, contact a system administrator. Hope it helps. CircleyDoesExtracter(Circley Talk | Global |Email the Cloud) 14:18, 7 November 2020 (UTC)
Oh, awesome, thank you very much. I am a bureaucrat so I can indeed take care of it. Have a great day. JoyfulKindred (talk) 00:07, 8 November 2020 (UTC)

Can you make me an autoconfirmed user on the HVW? GrammaropolisFTW GoldieAndBearFTL Returns (talk) 13:07, 8 November 2020 (UTC)

@GrammaropolisFTW GoldieAndBearFTL Returns: There's a couple problems with your request. Firstly, I'm not sure what wiki "HVW" is. Secondly, a steward can only grant rights on local wikis in the absence of local administrators or bureaucrats. That is to say, there would have to be no active bureaucrats or administrators on the local wiki for a considerable period of time. Finally, as long as users have the edit right on that local wiki, you can make about ten sandbox edits and become autoconfirmed, provided it's been four days since you attached your account to that wiki. Dmehus (talk) 13:53, 8 November 2020 (UTC)
    @Dmehus: I think he's referring to the Horrible Vyonders Wiki. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) 14:02, 8 November 2020 (UTC)
Yes, I thought that was possible as well, but didn't want to assume that may be the case. Assuming that were the case, then @GrammaropolisFTW GoldieAndBearFTL Returns:, it won't be possible as that wiki is currently locked and made private by stewards due to serial Content Policy and Code of Conduct issues. Dmehus (talk) 14:05, 8 November 2020 (UTC)

Request for my account to be globally locked

Hello, I'm starting to lose interest in the Miraheze reception wikis, due to the negative ones involving users (including mine) being closed for "Content Policy violations", and the reasons I include for good qualities (especially on positive reception wikis) seem too generic and I can't think of any, so for these reasons, I would like for my account to be globally locked. It's also the fact that Miraheze got a little bit toxic for me, since someone trolled me back in September and wished death on my dog (I've already reported him to be globalled for trolling and unacceptable username, but still). Me hiding his topics also apparently fed the troll, even if I only said one word in my reasoning for hiding his topics, like "troll" or "trolling", instead of including an emotional sentence or valid criticism in general, and I don't feel very lucky for that reason, since no matter what I do to stop trolls, it only feeds them. I know it's only one person I was a victim of on Miraheze, but yeah. -- Perry The Chiweenie (talk) 14:10, 4 November 2020 (UTC)

@Perry The Chiweenie: We're sorry to see you go, if that's your wish. The good thing is, you're not locally blocked on any wikis, so you have nothing to worry about when you return. Note that since you've apparently been targeted by trolls, that you may also wish to consider redacting your personal information and renaming your account, which is a process that system administrators can undertake for you. Such requests will need to come from your confirmed, registered e-mail address and be sent to tech(at)miraheze.org; otherwise, a steward or Global Sysop can lock your account for you, if you still wish to proceed. However, if prefer just to link to specific instances of Code of Conduct violations, we can definitely look into those, delete the problematic revisions, and take other actions as required. Dmehus (talk) 15:41, 4 November 2020 (UTC)
@Dmehus: Yes, I still wish to proceed, and I completely understand. When I’m targeted by trolls, I just leave the websites. Perry The Chiweenie (talk) 16:22, 4 November 2020 (UTC)
@Perry The Chiweenie: Okay, fair enough, though my preference would be see us take appropriate action against the trolls and the offending content. Nonetheless, I respect your decision and, should you wish to ever return, you may either (a) request an unlock via e-mail to stewards(at)miraheze.org or (b) create a new account. In addition, should you wish to have your personal information redacted from your current account, this may still be able to be done by system administrators regardless of your account's locked status. Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 16:45, 4 November 2020 (UTC)
@Dmehus: Okay, thanks! Perry The Chiweenie (talk) 16:49, 4 November 2020 (UTC)
@Reception123: Can you lock @Perry The Chiweenie:'s account for him as a self-requested lock? I'm assuming you probably missed this, but you can use the revision created by this reply, as it will capture both the original request and replies. Dmehus (talk) 03:30, 10 November 2020 (UTC)

Can someone just remove this drama page

Request for Local Interwiki Administrator Role

    Vandalizing ruffian on multiple wikis:

This guy is not only a vandal, but also has an inappropriate username Evidence #1, Evidence #2 (Although it got deleted by me), and Evidence #3. (The blog post on #3 has also been deleted as well.) DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) 23:59, 9 November 2020 (UTC)

@DarkMatterMan4500: That user can be locked as a Username Policy violation alone. If all or most of the edits across multiple wikis are blatant vandalism, then it is a vandalism only account. I haven't assessed it yet on that latter basis, but definitely it meets the criteria for a bad faith Username Policy violation. Dmehus (talk) 00:10, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
@Dmehus: I am happy to say that the account has Yes check.svg been locked by @Void:. Cheers! DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) 01:14, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
@Dmehus: He's back again. But this time, he's just flat-out insulting the admins. This is the revision before it was given the deletion tag DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) 14:50, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
@DarkMatterMan4500: So, yes, this is vandalism, but FaketyFackFackFack has made only one edit on one wiki, for which they are Yes check.svg locally blocked. So, I'm not seeing a need yet for global action by stewards or Global Sysops. If you believe the user is related to Spain is so strange, well, you would need to supply roughly 2-3 of the best diffs from that user's previous accounts, in order to justify a CheckUser. Please note this evidence cannot simply be generic, simple vandalism, such as page blanking, that is common amongst all vandalism only accounts. There has to be obvious behavioural evidence patterns which clearly show the user accounts are connected to the same person. Otherwise, for locking as a vandalism only account, the evidence needs to be occurring on more than one wiki, and it needs to be continuing whereby a lock mitigates further damage. Dmehus (talk) 16:44, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
Minor point: This is a separate report of vandalism, so really should've been reported as a separate thread or, ideally, just reported on #miraheze-cvt connect on IRC or #cvt on Discord. No need to change it now, but just a point for the future. Dmehus (talk) 16:49, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
@Dmehus: Great, I have something I need to report to you guys on there DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) 19:53, 10 November 2020 (UTC)

Obvious vandalism-only account spotted on Best TV Shows Wiki

Mrkepo 2nd Account might also be an impersonation account out of Mrkepo, with evidence: Evidence #1 Evidence #2 Evidence #3 Evidence #4Evidence #5 Evidence #6 Evidence #7 Evidence #8 Evidence #9 Evidence #10 Evidence #11 Evidence #12 Evidence #13 Evidence #14 Evidence #15

Notice how this guy is acting like a vandalizing ruffian on all those edits that I gave the links to, and should be looked more into. Also, can you guys see if the Mrkepo account is related to the Mrkepo 2nd Account? I'm not exactly sure if they are the same or not. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) 17:23, 13 November 2020 (UTC)

Pictogram voting comment.svg Comment: While I won't comment on whether the two users may be related based on their contributions, I will say I just deleted obvious vandalism by Mrkepo on Meta yesterday in fact. Dmehus (talk) 17:38, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
@Dmehus: So they might be related? If so, they should be checked if the 2nd account in question is in fact being used by the same user. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) 17:41, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
@DarkMatterMan4500: It's possible, yes, but I haven't examined the second account's contributions to see if that would be warranted. I just wanted to provide a comment on the first Mrkepo. It's possible, or even likely, they may both be vandalism only accounts, and one or both could be locked on that basis, making a CheckUser investigation moot and unnecessary. Dmehus (talk) 17:47, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
    @Dmehus: It's alright. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) 17:48, 13 November 2020 (UTC)

    Gyaanipedia wikis suddenly closed

I'm Shaunak Chakraborty, the founder of Gyaanipedia. Today when I landed to its English site https://en.gyaanipedia.co.in I saw something unexpected, it was showing Closed Wiki box on its top [1], in my knowledge this box automatically appears when a wiki has been not edited for 60 days but this wiki is last edited few hours ago and the most active wiki in the Gyaanipedia projects. Then I found others Gyaanipedia wikis also which is hosted on Miraheze has been closed, which is totally weird. I immediately unchecked the closed box in every wiki and now my wikis are open. All these wikis has been last edited few hours or days ago. I just want to know that is this a planned act or a mistake/bug. Please look at this case and kindly let me know that now my wikis are safe or now. There are a lots of hard work of years in this wikis. Thanking you with due respect. Shaunak Chakraborty (talk) 14:40, 16 November 2020 (UTC)

    Import another wiki

I am the founder of Gyaanipedia https://en.gyaanipedia.co.in I also have a fandom site https://gyaanipedia.fandom.com which have 93k articles. Now I want to make a copy of this fandom wiki and want to import it to the Miraheze wiki. As we know that Special:Import/Export is very time consuming so is there any other way to do that? Please help me Shaunak Chakraborty (talk) 06:35, 19 November 2020 (UTC)

@Shaunak Chakraborty: 93,000 pages/articles is a lot, but should be doable, especially if there is not 93,000 images that need uploading as well. For these imports, though, this really will need you to go to Special:Statistics on your Fandom wiki, request a dump (as a bureaucrat), and then create a Phabricator task for system administrators as this is completely out of scope of stewards. Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 14:00, 19 November 2020 (UTC)

Please perform a CheckUser for these 2 accounts

    Son Goto ThePackagingViewer

I have a reason to believe that those 2 accounts are related because the former confirmed his identity on a closed wiki, and while the latter confirmed it via a link to his YouTube channel.

The about page explains everything. And the link to his YouTube channel directly links him to the same person, and pretty much admits that it is a sock of Son Goto. Does this type of evidence seem good to you? Or does it require more? Feel free to let me know, and I will provide you with more if necessary. The former is inactive and while the latter has been locked recently. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) 14:51, 19 November 2020 (UTC)

@DarkMatterMan4500: I'm personally not seeing a massive need here, nevermind the fact you've only linked to one edit diff. I would say it's honestly easier just to monitor this user's contributions across wikis, and if it becomes clear the account is engaging solely or largely in blatant vandalism, then it can be locked as such. Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 14:56, 19 November 2020 (UTC)

Godless Raven I've moved this here (to SN) as ultimately it will be for Stewards to decide. Last time something like this was done, the user in question was asked on their talkpage if they objected to the usurpation and with no response in a month, it was done. I propose that in this instance, the same procedure is followed: you should ask the user on their talkpage whether they object and if they do not respond in a month, come back here and request that a Steward usurp the account. Local election on Daria Wiki assessment requested

The 7 days reserved for the DariaWiki admin election are finished, and I am the lead candidate. I request that this be acknowledged with admin access granted to me. Thank you.

Pagename WellTemperedClavier (talk) 23:48, 27 November 2020 (UTC)

@WellTemperedClavier: Your users' voting syntax doesn't follow quite the standard conventions, since their votes are not signed, but nevertheless, any steward can verify the page's history and confirm individual votes, if so desired. Nevertheless, this Yes check.svg LGTM. I will try and remind a steward in a couple days to assess your local election for the position of sysop from the looks of it. Dmehus (talk) 23:53, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
Sorry to make you go through the extra step. Thanks! WellTemperedClavier (talk) 01:37, 28 November 2020 (UTC)
Oh, it should be Yes check.svg no problem at all, but thank you for the kind words. :) Dmehus (talk) 01:42, 28 November 2020 (UTC)
By the way @Dmehus, is sysop the same as admin? WellTemperedClavier (talk) 18:10, 28 November 2020 (UTC)
@WellTemperedClavier: Yes, sysop is the group name for administrator, as it is referenced to that in the relevant database table(s). It is not the same as bureaucrat, but you can always hold a separate local election for that role later on, if so desired. Dmehus (talk) 18:23, 28 November 2020 (UTC)

Local election on Athas Wiki assessment requested

I made a local election at https://athas.miraheze.org/wiki/Main_Page and signaled the election making a banner in the main page with a link to the local election page: https://athas.miraheze.org/wiki/Athas:Elections/2020 . In the rules I wrote for the election I established 7 calendar days and the local election is finished. I voted for me signing my vote, but there is no other voters. I request the corresponding steward check that election on Athas. Avengium (talk) 19:30, 28 November 2020 (UTC)

@Avengium: Okay, this Yes check.svg LGTM. A steward should assess your local election request in the next week, and grant the requested rights if successful. I will try and {{ping}} a steward in the next 2-3 days if not done by then. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 19:41, 28 November 2020 (UTC)

Request for Undeletion of Perl 6 Wiki

Could either of the stewards, being @NDKilla, John, and Void:, please undelete Perl 6 Wiki, which exists as a deleted wiki? There's been a request on IRC by a user in #miraheze connect not that long ago requesting this. Direct link to undelete is at Special:ManageWiki/core/perl6wiki. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 21:03, 29 November 2020 (UTC)

    Inactive notice for active wiki

Probably related to wikis closed in error: https://wfhb.miraheze.org/ is showing as inactive although there are multiple posts within the last 45 days.

We value the opportunity to have our wiki hosted here. Thanks! Chuck.Beckett (talk) 19:51, 30 November 2020 (UTC)

@Chuck.Beckett: Thank you for your post, though this is out of scope of stewards. Secondarily, there's no indication this wiki was closed since the inadvertent wiki closure, which has since been resolved. Thus, as you are the local bureaucrat on the wiki, all you need to do is go into Special:ManageWiki and uncheck "inactive," and the notice should disappear. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 22:00, 30 November 2020 (UTC)

does this have to do with the domain change?

after I had the domain of my wiki changed, members of the wiki have reported being unable to log in. I was unable to log in for a while too but eventually got back in, but the other members still can't log in. does this issue have to do with the domain change? is there anything you can do to fix it? XXSeph MySpaceXx (talk) 15:08, 2 December 2020 (UTC)

@XXSeph MySpaceXx: I'm not certain exactly, but the problem is likely cookie related. If you recently had cause to clear all of your web browser's cookies or were just routinely clearing all web browsing history (including cookies), then yes, this would log you out. Try and always make sure you see your username in the top menu of any wiki before posting. Should you have any login issues in the future, you can always e-mail system administrators at tech(at)miraheze.org, and they'll be happy to look into it for/with you. Nevertheless, I have updated your signature above to reference your logged in username, and have revision deleted the intervening revisions. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 15:46, 2 December 2020 (UTC)

    Problem

@I have no idea 2.0: Hi. It's quite difficult to get what exactly the issue is from your message. Do you mean you have created a new account and are trying to assign rights to it? If so, on which wiki? And what do you mean by "nothing works"? Reception123 (talk) (C) 20:09, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
This is possibly related to @I have no idea:'s creating a second account in @I have no idea 2.0: (permalink to discussion). If that's the case, then they would need to grant rights to their second account from the first account. If that's not the case, then we need more clarification here as @Reception123: said. Request for Undeletion of Rothwell Wiki

Following this wiki request, which cannot be created as the rothwellwiki database name still exists as a deleted wiki, I confirmed it is still at Special:ManageWiki/core/rothwellwiki. Block this user

There's a user called AudiomachineForLife on Rotten Websites Wiki and he's spreading anti-pro life propaganda. Here's proof:

    An edit he made: https://rottenwebsites.miraheze.org/w/index.php?title=Jesus-is-savior.com&diff=23520&oldid=23456

An edit he made on a page he made: https://rottenwebsites.miraheze.org/w/index.php?title=Survivors_of_the_Abortion_Holocaust&diff=prev&oldid=19260

Some proposals he made on Awful Movies Wiki that include defaming a pro-life movie: https://awfulmovies.miraheze.org/wiki/Topic:Vsnf8j403titd70z https://awfulmovies.miraheze.org/wiki/Topic:Vsr65ssppii8kco5

Please delete the Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust page and block AudiomachineForLife. Nekoman (talk) 03:03, 2 December 2020 (UTC)

I have not looked in detail at the wiki or pages, but as a matter of principles Miraheze does not engage in censorship. A person is free to be "pro-life" or "pro-choice" and I do not think Miraheze should prevent users from expressing their opinions. This also looks like a request for blocking the user on that wiki so I think you should contact the local administrators there and they will decide to block or not. DeeM28 (talk) 11:50, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
@Nekoman: Hi, I took a look, and as DeeM28 has said we do not censor users, as long as they do not violate our Global Policies. Judging by the links you’ve provided, I see no reason for a Global Sysop or Steward to act. Zppix (Meta | Sysadmin | talk to me) 12:51, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
@Nekoman: They were from April and onward before you made this report. In other words, if it was still going, then that would be different. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) 13:16, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
@Zppix: If you guys don't like censorship, then why did you guys close Atrocious YouTubers Wiki, Toxic Fandoms and Hatedoms Wiki, Incredible Wikis and Users Wiki, and Unfavorable Wikis and Users Wiki? Nekoman (talk) 21:18, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
@Nekoman: That's a very different case. In that case, and similar ones, local wiki bureaucrats repeatedly chose to ignore steward and Global Sysop warnings to deal with their local wiki administrators and users who harassed other users in block and edit summaries and with unsourced potentially libelous statements, thus contravening Content Policy in a systemic way. Dmehus (talk) 21:20, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
@Dmehus: From what I have seen, they were never intended to harass users however the Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust page is biased and defamatory and one of AudiomachinneForLife's edit summary said "More to show that Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust is evil and should be terminated". Nekoman (talk) 03:41, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
@Nekoman: Could you please give us more details about what makes you say that the page is defamatory? And it has been asked above already, but have you tried contacting the local administrators about this issue first? In addition, the definition of defamatory is "the action of damaging the good reputation of someone", so I don't think it's possible for a movie to be defamed. The only way that it would be violating our Content Policy is if the page is spreading "unsubstantiated insult, hate or rumours against [...] a group of people". You are free to provide us with more justification as to why you think this is violating the Content Policy, but please do try to contact the local sysops first. Rotten Websites Wiki is restoring biased pages from Atrocious YouTubers Wiki

    Here is evidence https://rottenwebsites.miraheze.org/wiki/Strawberry_Milk https://rottenwebsites.miraheze.org/wiki/The_Real_Cost https://rottenwebsites.miraheze.org/wiki/Lily_Orchard https://rottenwebsites.miraheze.org/wiki/Memetastic and https://rottenwebsites.miraheze.org/wiki/YouTube_CommentersIvanTheGreat (talk) 19:59, 4 December 2020 (UTC)

@IvanTheGreat: This will need more than that. Note that biased pages are not problematic. Unsourced, potentially libelous information is. I'd suggest you compose, offline, a substantive and exhaustive report to stewards on how the wiki is violating Content Policy and e-mail it to stewards(at)miraheze.org as these ad nauseam two line reports on stewards' noticeboard are tiresome. Dmehus (talk) 20:08, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
I guess you want your website filled with those reception wikis that ruin your reputation, that's fine with me. IvanTheGreat (talk) 20:10, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
@IvanTheGreat: Just listen and add in great detail why they violate certain policies if you are sure they do. If you complain and use the wrong language to describe why these pages may be "bad" then you won't get anywhere. Be specific and explain why, instead of accusing people of wanting to keep possibly problematic wikis around when they said no such thing. If you want an outcome then work for it. Request for local interwiki administrator of Kubu Wiki

Sorry I forgot to write this in my request, thanks LilyLilyu - smile.svg (Lilypond Wiki · talk and I will listen · my little garden) 16:49, 27 November 2020 (UTC)

@Lily: Due to some inconsistencies between the policy page and successive interwiki reform RfCs, it was somewhat unclear on what the requirements, exactly, were for local interwiki administrator. There is actually a 500 edit requirement on the wiki where requested for local interwiki administrator. While you don't meet that on your wiki, since you meet the global edit requirement, that criterion is satisfied. Nevertheless, there is actually supposed to be a local election held (which can be an election by acclamation), so would you be able to hold a local election by creating a local election page somewhere on the wiki? You can find more details on the process here. Once your local election has concluded in at least 5-7 calendar days, you can return to this thread, reply, and link to the election for a steward to assess. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 17:22, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
Meantime, I remain available to add any interwiki prefixes for you on that wiki. Dmehus (talk) 17:22, 27 November 2020 (UTC)

CheckUser Request for IvanTheGreat and Rolling1975

The reason why I am requesting this now is because both of them seem to be wanting our wikis gone so badly without any evidence of any kind, as some of you guys might be aware of what I'm talking about. Here are some clues that I have gathered to pinpoint who it might be: https://meta.miraheze.org/w/index.php?title=Stewards%27_noticeboard&oldid=149729 https://meta.miraheze.org/w/index.php?title=Stewards%27_noticeboard&oldid=141538 https://meta.miraheze.org/w/index.php?title=Community_noticeboard&oldid=141541 https://meta.miraheze.org/w/index.php?title=Stewards%27_noticeboard&oldid=141137 https://meta.miraheze.org/w/index.php?title=Stewards%27_noticeboard&oldid=141146

Is anyone noticing a pattern coming along here? If so, then those 2 users should be examined right away based on behavioral evidence that I have provided. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) 20:51, 4 December 2020 (UTC)

@Dmehus: Anybody gonna respond to this? DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) 17:37, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
@DarkMatterMan4500: While I do see a lot of behavioural similarities in the users, I personally don't feel there's an urgency here since I warned IvanTheGreat on Meta, in my capacity as a Meta administrator not to continue is disruption and to abide by user accounts policy. If disruption continues, then perhaps there will be a greater need. And, of course, any steward may have a different opinion than me here, and can take any action as they feel is warranted. Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 21:21, 5 December 2020 (UTC)

502 error preventing me from adding activity to wiki

I cannot access pkvast.miraheze.org once logged in and I get either a 500 or a 502 error. I suspect this has to do with previous inactivity. Tznkai (talk) 17:23, 4 December 2020 (UTC)

Issue is ongoing and I have opened a ticket. I am obviously unable to solve the inactivity problem --Tznkai (talk) 02:53, 7 December 2020 (UTC)

requesting removal of bureaucrat rights for 2 users on DF wiki

per here I would like the bureaucrat rights of MyBlueDiamond and Kevbo182 to be removed.

As seen here Kevbo only requested sysop status so I believe Delta's giving them crat rights was a mistake.

I think that is also the case with MBD who has been inactive for over a year as seen here.

I recently removed Kevbo's rights for altering my block without explanation but I will be unable to enforce anything if they realize they can just re-promote themselves due to this oversight.

If Delta disagrees with this, they could of course repromote the users by retaining the crat rights, but I just think Delta has been busy or like me is unable to reverse the mistake, so has tried to avoid drawing attention to it.

That's mostly what I did until this recent editing conflict at which point I feel the need to reach out to ask for external intercession. ty 23:55, 5 December 2020 (UTC)

@Tycio: Per my comment at Meta talk:Bureaucrats, Okay, this is by design, as intentionally, stewards are supposed to be called upon to remove the bureaucrat bit from user(s) on the local wiki when requested on stewards' noticeboard. I was conferring with @Void and NDKilla: on the course of action to take. Though not great that you took the action yourself, as I feel like steward review of the circumstances between the local dispute would've been helpful, it's probably okay, and it's good you reverted the change in Special:ManageWiki/permissions. To your last question, you can view changes performed in ManageWiki using Special:Log/managewiki. Dmehus (talk) 02:45, 6 December 2020 (UTC)
Just a short bit of clarification here. If we didn't want bureaucrats to have the ability to remove other bureaucrats, then it just plain simply wouldn't be possible, even with ManageWiki access. We are fine with wikis setting up their permissions hierarchies in whatever way they see fit. However, we do reserve the right for community consensus (through some official moderation venue) to be able to overturn these structures and decisions (within reason). I don't actually see anything wrong with what you've done, nor is it objectionable. Although, if I do look at this issue from the community consensus side of things, it still does look appropriate, given that at least two other users complained about Kevbo's actions prior to removal, giving at least some precedence to the idea that this is supported by the community. -- Void Whispers 18:23, 6 December 2020 (UTC)

    Criteria:

    • Hold bureaucrat rights on the local wiki: yes
    • Have had a Miraheze account for (a) at least two (2) weeks prior to requesting or (b) the two (2) month global user longevity requirement above: Registered: 2015-08-04
    • Have made either (a) 500 edits on the local wiki where requested or (b) the 1,000 global edit requirement above: Total edits: 2,149 (2150 with this edit)
    • Comply with any additional local rules governing the selection of local interwiki administrators
      • Be involved in some way in community matters (in discussions on Community Noticeboard, etc.): Former sysadmin, currently idling TA.
      • Have at least 1000 total global edits on Miraheze (on more than one wiki) (Note: These edits may not consist of directly copy/pasting content from other wikis, they must be edits done by the user): Metawiki: 1516(+1) edits

    Thanks. — revi 15:21, 8 December 2020 (UTC)

@Revi: You definitely meet the global or local interwiki administrator requirements without any issue. The only real issue is the holding of a local election on the local wikis. After conferring with @John: on this, the election could technically occur anywhere (whether on each wiki or here) and, as you note, I'm essentially the only user who has participated in your public wiki (your private wiki has no community other than you, essentially), so the fact of me closing this request would be an implied local community support. That's a bit involved, sure, but on the same hand, that really is only a convention that elections should be open for three to seven calendar days. At the same time, anyone with any objection to it would have to say that the election was not in keeping with the consensus of the local wikis' community. So, with that, this is Yes check.svg done. Weird accounts are showing up on our wikis

As of late, some of our admins have been making exhaustive blocks on accounts that could be possible sock/spam accounts. One primary example would be the one on Crappy Games Wiki. There's like 30+ accounts with some information mostly ending with some gibberish at the end of their names on their personal information that can be found on their user pages. Here's an example of one of them: https://crappygames.miraheze.org/wiki/User:Nip Also, could someone please investigate the User Creation logs on there as well? Link: https://crappygames.miraheze.org/wiki/Special:Log/newusers And by the way, I'm not the only one who thinks something is really wrong with how these users are using similar patterns of usernames. Oh, and one more thing, these accounts have been getting created within 5 to 15 minutes. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) 18:08, 8 December 2020 (UTC)

My resignation of Wiki Creator rights

Hello, today I humbly request to have my wiki creator rights taken away as I do believe I'm not active enough to retain them. I am thankful that the community entrusted me with them to start with though. Thank you Hypercane (talk) 22:17, 8 December 2020 (UTC)

Could someone perform a CheckUser on accounts related to Cheddarman?

These accounts NotCheddarman and Cheddarman 2 The Electric Boogaloo could be related. If it's necessary, go right ahead (without fishing of course, as it's not a fishing expedition) Could they be related as Cheddarman was previously locked for long-term abuse? DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) 15:56, 10 December 2020 (UTC)

@MrJaroslavik: Pictogram voting wait.svg Assessing these requests. Should be done shortly. Dmehus (talk) 17:52, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
@MrJaroslavik: While we are quite liberal in granting Dormancy Policy exemption requests, sesupportwiki is a bit light content wise, with only about 8-10 content pages in its main and project namespaces. Nevertheless, as you are an active community volunteer, wiki creator, and Global Sysop and because the two wikis are used together as quick reference guides for, presumably, your volunteer work as a Twitch streaming platform moderator, I've decided to Yes check.svg grant the two requests, each for the following reason:
    • Volunteer (Wiki creator and Global Sysop), content is used as quick reference guides to a small audience, and the wiki does not expect many users to edit.
With regard to your wiki deletion requests, ordinarily we'd prefer to let Dormancy Policy take care of these, but seeing as they're both essentially duplications of your two remaining requests, these will also be Yes check.svg done. Dmehus (talk) 18:33, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
Thank you, here is some explanation: sesupportwiki will be internal used for simplification of support at StreamElements and mrjaroslavikwiki for my personal things, guides not related with StreamElements services and maybe something for my friends. Deletion was because my clean-up today. Also I requested removal of my unneeded rights on two wikis.--MrJaroslavik (talk) 18:53, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
@MrJaroslavik: Okay, thank you for clarifying. Yeah, the wiki deletions seemed like pretty non-controversial wiki cleanup essentially. Regarding the rights removals, I don't see that, but the next time the wiki deletion script is run, the deleted wikis will be removed from your CA. Did you still want me to remove the rights from the deleted wikis? Dmehus (talk) 18:57, 10 December 2020 (UTC)

    2. He's a hypocrite, he told a user named HH ! Motions not to copy videos yet he copies videos himself

    3. He tells lies, he lied about appearing in Andrew Orozco 4

Request for global lock of alternative account

    Hello,

Having lost my original email for this account (Anderlaxe), I asked someone (I believe it was Rhinos) to open this account to allow me to continue contributing.

However, I recovered my account, and therefore the account above should be locked or deleted.

@Anderlaxe: I do see that RhinosF1 created Bitwise for you in this log action; however, I do note that the request was unconfirmed, I would be more confident if you could please login to Bitwise, requesting a password reset via e-mail if needed, and confirm the request for a self-requested lock. @Anderlaxe: I haven't heard anything back from you. Can you please login to Bitwise and confirm that is your alternate account? I can't enter or do anything in the pages, unless if I'm auto confirmed/confirmed.
This is what I see here:
    ==Permission Error==
You do not have permission to read this page, for the following reason:
The action you have requested is limited to users in one of the groups: Confirmed users, Members, Administrators.
    LordOfSpaghetti (talk) 12:15, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
@LordOfSpaghetti: you should request for the Confirmed user group to that wiki's local administrators or bureaucrats. They have modified their wiki's permissions and made it so that only users in any of the groups Confirmed, Member or Administrator can read or edit it. Thank you. R4356th (talk) 12:28, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
@LordOfSpaghetti: Thank you for the clarification, as that was the sort of detail needed to ascertain your problem. To answer your question, which will be to echo what R4356th said as well, you would need to contact any local administrator from Special:ListUsers/sysop on the wiki. However, since it sounds like that wiki is a private wiki, you will not be able to do that as that special page is unavailable to you. Can you tell me which wiki this is, so I can see if I can reach out to the local bureaucrat? Dmehus (talk) 15:24, 11 December 2020 (UTC)

Lock Peter Parker for being a sockpuppet of LeroyManTheFirst (Please notice this headfirst)

Within a span of 3 or 4 days now, I had some suspicions that Peter Parker was a sock of LeroyManTheFirst, and just like that, my suspicions were confirmed, with behavioral evidence on some of his contributions: https://dreadfulbooks.miraheze.org/w/index.php?title=Eat_Your_Peas&oldid=1303 https://horribletvshowepisodes.miraheze.org/w/index.php?title=Meat,_Dog%27s_Friends_(CatDog)&diff=prev&oldid=4457

And here are some of his comments that could be proven to be even MORE suspicious than ever: https://awfulmovies.miraheze.org/wiki/Cars_2#comment-11388 https://awfulmovies.miraheze.org/wiki/Minions#comment-11471 https://awfulmovies.miraheze.org/wiki/Thomas_and_the_Magic_Railroad#comment-11376 (This part is important as LeroyManTheFirst has also said the exact same thing a little while back.) https://besttvshows.miraheze.org/wiki/LEGO_Ninjago:_Masters_of_Spinjitzu_(Pilot_Episodes-Season_6,_8-9,_12-present)#comment-3235

If you look at his activities on multiple wikis, you will notice a pattern.

I hope either @Dmehus and Reception123: or @Void and John: could have a look at some of the evidence that I have gathered, including the comments that could lead directly to him. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) 17:46, 11 December 2020 (UTC)

@DarkMatterMan4500: Thank you for including links to diffs, which are required for such reports; however, there's a few problems with this report. Firstly, and most important, you haven't linked to a single diff from LeroyManTheFirst. Secondarily, and equally importantly, the first two diffs are hardly even vandalism; even if construed as vandalism, it's a common deletion tagging, which is easily reverted, the user warned, and user locally blocked. It is run of the mill evidence nonetheless which cannot conclusively point to the two users being connected. And finally, and no less importantly than the first two points, those are constructive comments. I don't see anything that needs to be done here, to be honest. Dmehus (talk) 17:53, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
@Dmehus: Does this username ring a bell, or no? Also, for the other things you have mentioned, some of his edit summaries are rather insults, which is something that LeroyManTheFirst himself has done before. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) 17:56, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
I could ping @SpazJR61 and DeciduousWater534: to maybe even give you some of the stuff that LeroyManTheFirst has done. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) 17:59, 11 December 2020 (UTC)

Are any of these accounts related to No?

    RedditRocks69420
    Bobux4Life69420

While those 3 accounts have been blocked locally on the Rotten Websites Wiki, their "real" name really caught my attention on all 3 accounts: https://rottenwebsites.miraheze.org/wiki/User:Bobux4Life69420

    https://rottenwebsites.miraheze.org/wiki/User:RedditRocks69420

If you notice, their names have the exact same name of an already blocked user "No".

Also, while one of them did vandalize the Rotten Websites Wiki, I think those 3 accounts were intended to vandalize and not contribute to anything positive, such as this edit right here: https://rottenwebsites.miraheze.org/w/index.php?title=Reddit&oldid=31040

I've detected spam on the Permanent Future Lab Wiki

Someone needs to remove all those spam articles as I have been marking them all for deletion, and there's no active local administrator even monitoring it at all. None of the articles they are making has anything to do with what the wiki is all about. Some of them are about hookups, toilets, and some of them have to do with irrelevant topics that has nothing to do with the scope of that wiki itself. What do you guys think of what should happen to the users who has been making articles with spammy links? All I know is that they are currently being deleted by @MrJaroslavik: at the moment, but shouldn't they be locked as well? They are clearly here to promote or mass advertise by spamming links to external sites. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) 16:37, 12 December 2020 (UTC)

    • Also, he do the same with madgendersciencewiki but for now, they have not changed the permission (pray that a local sysop/bureaucrat will come one day or not), but for now, we continue to monitor and delete/lock spam accounts, waiting for local sysop/bureaucrat or steward action.
    HeartsDo (Talk / Global / Wiki Creator) 12:27, 13 December 2020 (UTC)

For the end of this spam apocalypse: Dmehus has changed permission to edit main namespace to autoconfirmed and left a message to the most recently active bureaucrat on madgendersciencewiki and openhatchwiki (a other wiki who has been spammed).
For now, we can say this is Yes check.svg Done! HeartsDo (Talk / Global / Wiki Creator) 18:07, 13 December 2020 (UTC)

Can I reopen the Toxic Fandoms & Hatedoms Wiki?

I want to reopen the Toxic Fandoms & Hatedoms Wiki, but for some reason it won't let me. Any help here? Link to the wiki: https://toxicfandomsandhatedoms.miraheze.org/wiki/Toxic_Fandoms_%26_Hatedoms_Wiki Slater2001 (talk) 14:48, 13 December 2020 (UTC)

@Slater2001: That wiki was closed by Stewards due to Code of Conduct and Content Policy violations. Please read this for more information. Additionally, you must be a bureaucrat to be able to reopen wikis. R4356th (talk) 14:57, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
@Slater2001: A minor point to add to what R4356th articulated above already is that in this case, because the wiki was also locked, a steward is required to unlock the wiki, which isn't going to happen local administrators and bureaucrats repeatedly failed to heed warnings of global policies by global functionaries. So, at this point, it is just a matter of Dormancy Policy taking care of the wiki, with deletion expected some time in or around February 2021. Dmehus (talk) 15:12, 13 December 2020 (UTC)

    awesome subreddits wiki deletion request

hey there. could somebody please delete the awesome subreddits wiki? I tried to close it a few months ago, but for some reason it reopened without anyone doing anything. I've left my reasoning for why I want the wiki deleted and archived all of the pages on it, so I'd appreciate it if the wiki was shut down. thanks! -Luigifan53 22:08, 14 December 2020 (UTC)

Hello, you can go here and check "Closed" by yourself. You seem to have checked both "Closed" and "Inactive" before according to the ManageWiki log on your wiki, which probably caused your wiki not to be closed. R4356th (talk) 22:22, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
He knew that already he's now requesting it to be immediately deleted and not a six-month wait even though he closed it months ago which isn't fair. If this happened to me then I'd want it deleted quickly since time was already wasted on a glitch. Waldo (talk) 23:38, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
@Dmehus: Could you come over here and consider acting? Waldo (talk) 23:43, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
@Luigifan53: There doesn't seem to be a technical issue that caused your wiki to be reopened, other than if there is a bug whereby the local bureaucrat selects "inactive" in addition to "closed" when manually closing a wiki. In any case, I don't see a compelling reason here to override Dormancy Policy, so, while I would've preferred you make this change, I have gone ahead and closed and made private this wiki per this request, mainly because I wanted to see if this wiki would be properly closed. Note that you do not need to wait the full 180 days for the wiki to be eligible for deletion. As I understand it, because the wiki was manually closed, it essentially skips the inactive state and closes straight to the closed state, so it should be eligible for deletion in about 135 days from now. Note that there is no timeframe after a wiki is eligible for deletion and the time it is actually deleted by system administrators' maintenance script. Dmehus (talk) 00:12, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
@Dmehus: Then why does the closed notice state "If this wiki is not adopted within 6 months it may be deleted."? If it will be deleted four months after it is closed then it shouldn't say that. Waldo (talk) 01:29, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
@Waldo: I agree that that part of the notice is a bit confusing, but since we use only one standardized notice for manually or normally closed wikis, it's a bit of a challenge to try and alter the messaging without it being confusing. Policy is six months from the time the wiki was last active, essentially. Making one edit, deleting one page, or assigning a user group to a user once every 44 days is enough to keep the wiki from going inactive. I can try and see if we can tweak the closure message, generally speaking, of course, as it could be worded a little more clearly, I feel, but as to having different messages, I suspect that won't be easily doable. Hello, I'd like to request a Dormancy Policy exemption for my original character wiki, this wiki is made to be read (especially for my friends). On the other hand, because of my academic career I haven't so much spare time to edit it. So I'd like to apply for exemption on DP. Thanks.

The wiki I mentioned is this: NKNK'sOCs wiki.

It's 4 days since I left the message on it, there are no one respond to me. It made me so anxious that I check the noticeboard everyday. It seems that the stewards refused to my request...... NKNK (talk) 15:21, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
@NKNK: Hi, if a steward has not respond it now is because they have not reviewed your request yet, don't forget that we are all volunteers here. But I will @Dmehus and Void: for see if they can review your request. Thanks! HeartsDo (Talk / Global / Wiki Creator) 15:59, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for your explanation!!! NKNK (talk) 17:16, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
@NKNK: Apologies for the ever so slight delay in responding to your Dormancy Policy exemption request for your NKNK'sOCs Wiki. There were a couple reasons for the slight delay in responding. Firstly, there was a swarm of spambots creating blatant spam page creations on several Miraheze-hosted wikis requiring attention of stewards and Global Sysops, mainly because the wikis were small wikis with no recently active local administrators and bureaucrats. Secondarily, when I took an initial look at your wiki a couple days ago, I didn't see that many content pages (excluding redirects) and, of those that were content pages, each page had little textual content made to be read—each page seemed only to consist of a character drawing in an infobox and a few brief facts about said character. On the other hand, you have articulated a clear need for an exemption to Dormancy Policy due to your academic career and the fact you are the only user administering and editing your wiki, both of which present challenges to you building out your wiki. Given the clear need but lack of substantive textual content, I considered granting you a time-limited Dormancy Policy exemption of one year for your wiki, mainly to get you through until your non-instructional semester at which time you may have more time for editing your wiki; however, if I knew a bit more about the purpose of your wiki (i.e., if it were just a repository of your artistic creations) and your anticipated timeframe for when you expect to build out your wiki a bit more, I'd be inclined to grant you a standard indefinite exemption to Dormancy Policy. So, with that, are you able to provide me a bit more information on the purpose of your wiki, anticipated number of content pages, and when you expect to be able to build out your wiki a bit more? Once I have that information, I should be able to grant this request expeditiously (i.e., in the next day or two). Dmehus (talk) 04:37, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
I see, I'd apologize for my impulsiveness and anxiety.
I forgot to in stewards' shoes, there are many things to do that prior to my request.
I think I'd better request the exemption after I add adequate information someday.
The purpose is just repository these creations......sorry😔)
Thank you all the same.😄 NKNK (talk) 16:02, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
@NKNK: Thank you for the added reply, and no problem. Just to be clear, the drawings are your original creations? If so, I'm inclined to grant you an indefinite, though not permanent, exemption to Dormancy Policy per the added information and articulated need. Dmehus (talk) 16:12, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
Yes, the pictured are drawn by myself.(Though it is a little clumsy......)
    Thanks.😄 NKNK (talk) 16:21, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
@NKNK: Thank you for the necessary clarification. Your artwork is quite good actually. Nevertheless, as I said above, this Dormancy Policy exemption is Yes check.svg granted indefinitely as a private repository of your artwork, drawings, and other rough notes or modest pieces of textual facts and information about your characters, as there is quite a need for this exemption. For one thing, you are the wiki's only contributing user and, in turn, your busy academic career precludes frequent editing. Please be advised that this exemption is indefinite, not permanent, and should you no longer require an exemption as you and a growing community of contributors are contributing to it frequently on a regular, sustained basis, please do let us know by returning to this noticeboard. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 00:40, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
