I would like to recover the wiki "https://fablac.miraheze.org/wiki/Accueil"[edit | edit source]

Good morning,

I am contacting you because I will wish to recover the wiki of our school. It's called "fablac". We are very disappointed not to find him again.

Thanks in advance. Have a beautiful day, Sophie

Hello and welcome! I am not a Steward, but I think your request would carry more weight if you were a registered user. Please pick a username! Spıke (talk)22:23 20-Mar-2019

How do i add a Infobox? i Know Barely anything about Coding on Wikis sadly.[edit | edit source]

Hi, i'm New here as i Moved from Wikia's Mass-Ad Festival to here which seems cleaner. Only Issue i have right now is Adding Infoboxes to my Wiki. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Libya (talkcontribs)

Hello and welcome! Please read FAQ#How do I install infoboxes on my wiki, like Wikipedia has?. (Better yet, read the entire page!) Take care when importing code, because sometimes a template relies on other templates and you need to import them all. You're right that it's "cleaner" to edit here than at Wikia, where they are always breaking stuff. Templates are somewhat like subroutines in a programming language, and unfortunately, it will require learning about them, because even if you get them to work, you'll find you want to tweak them. How do I get to the Special:ManageWiki to uncheck the "closed" box to reopen it[edit | edit source]

My wiki was closed for dormancy - and I would like to re-open it, but I don't know how to get to the Special:ManageWiki page to uncheck the "closed" box. DebyJolley

Surfing to the page yourwiki.miraheze.org/wiki/Special:ManageWiki (making an appropriate substitution for yourwiki) should get you there, though I do not know if other problems will prevent you from completing the operation. Spıke (talk)03:45 2-May-2019

Thank you, Spike!!

Wikibase (Client)[edit | edit source]

Please enable on Wikibase (Client) on WikiLaw. Thank you, –MJLTalk 19:11, 4 June 2019 (UTC)

Hello, we haven’t got Wikibase Client quite working yet. Though I’ve gone and enabled it for you! Paladox (talk) 14:18, 9 June 2019 (UTC)
@Paladox: Well that's good enough for me! (lol) Thank you, –MJLTalk 05:23, 10 June 2019 (UTC)

SSL Certificate invalid[edit | edit source]

Hello, I use CloudFlare to cache my wiki and use its Universal SSL certificate. My wiki, https://vmcodex.net/, also uses a LetsEncrypt SSL cert. If I set CloudFlare's SSL security to "Full (Strict)" (i.e. origin must have a validated SSL certificate), I receive an error 526, Invalid SSL certificate. I can override this by changing to "Full", which allows invalid SSL certificates from the origin (usually for self-signed certs) but I would prefer to be in this state as little as possible.

If I bypass CloudFlare entirely, it looks like the LetsEncrypt certificate expired yesterday and was not renewed (see screenshot here).

Thanks for your help! NotoriousRBG (talk) 02:03, 6 June 2019 (UTC)

Hello, if you set it so your domain does not use the cloud flare caching, we will be able to renew the domain. Apologies (I must have missed the domain). Paladox (talk) 02:33, 6 June 2019 (UTC)
I've renewed the ssl cert now! Also we doin't allow you to use cloudflare caching see Custom Domains - Cloudflare. Paladox (talk) 13:31, 6 June 2019 (UTC)
Done. NotoriousRBG (talk) 14:46, 6 June 2019 (UTC)

Special:ManageWiki[edit | edit source]

https://hypohurricanes.miraheze.org/wiki/Special:ManageWiki/permissions has some problems. I want all the wikis in the Hypomedia Foundation (the foundation that i own) to have all the managewiki permissions restricted to the user right Hypomedia Foundation System Administrator and not b-crats. Please do this for all HMF wikis. Please also change the settings at [1] and [2]. Thank you.
Cheers, Fungster My talk | My contributions | FMF Meta | CA 05:13, 7 June 2019 (UTC)

Also, please, after doing this action, please give me the right 'Hypomedia_Foundation_System_Administrators" locally on this wiki. Fungster My talk | My contributions | FMF Meta | CA 05:17, 7 June 2019 (UTC)

Comment section on flawlessfandomusers.miraheze.org[edit | edit source]

The comment is broken as if I tried to comment on it, it's doesn't do anything. the same happens to the social extensions. --Theresnoname (talk) 07:17, 7 June 2019 (UTC)

Not a Bureaucrat[edit | edit source]

Greetings. I had my wiki created yesterday and when I wanted to access Special:ManageWiki I realized that my user (DanialTP) did not have Bureaucrat permissions and could not manage the wiki despite being the only user on the wiki. Here: https://amenthesproject.miraheze.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3AUserRights&user=DanialTP you can see that I only have administrator powers and not a bureaucrat, while here: https://amenthesproject.miraheze.org/wiki/Special:ListUsers you can see that I am the only user.

It would be great if I could be given bureaucrat powers such that I can use the ManageWiki function especially since I created the wiki. Thanks!

Hello, i've deleted and recreated your wiki. You are now a Bureaucrat!. (You will have to re upload the files though). Paladox (talk) 14:13, 8 June 2019 (UTC)

A little doubt...[edit | edit source]

  • Dude, it's possible to rename users in Miraheze wikis?
  • It's possible to check the user's logs/registers (CheckUser)?
  • I created the Founder members group in Rewiki, but i'm forbidden to choose this permission for me (gray option).

-Haizaki (talk) 15:49, 8 June 2019 (UTC)

Both are possible, but the action itself is limited to Stewards and Staff as necessary. Renaming should be done by a user requesting it through Special:GlobalRenameRequest, and the page CheckUser should outline how we use that tool. To get into a custom group, you can do something akin to going to Special:ManageWiki/permissions/bureaucrat and using the Group Assignments tab to make it so that the bureaucrat can add and remove the Founder group. Once you've added it to yourself, you can then disallow bureaucrats from adding the Founder group. -- Void Whispers 16:41, 8 June 2019 (UTC)
Right. I'll try this.Haizaki (talk) 16:50, 8 June 2019 (UTC)

Delete thepeachriots.miraheze.org[edit | edit source]

  • That wiki spread lies and is a bullying wiki created by trolls. --Theresnoname (talk) 02:27, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
    • and? --Haizaki (talk) 04:34, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
      • It's just a troll wiki with false information. --Theresnoname (talk) 06:27, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
I posted a task on Phabricator. Fungster (contribs - email - CA) 11:32, 10 June 2019 (UTC)

Haha. Delete the Uncyclopedias too.Haizaki (talk) 14:13, 10 June 2019 (UTC)

A user who does not have consensus from the wiki to delete it can't simply request deletion like that. If there is a problem with the wiki such as a global policy or Terms of Use violation, please report that instead so it can be investigated. Reception123 (talk) (C) 14:25, 10 June 2019 (UTC)

Checkuser Request[edit | edit source]

Can we please get a CheckUser on the All The Tropes users Mohamed Saed, Fungster and MohamedG92? We suspect the latter two to be sockpuppets used to evade a tempban on the first.

Thank you. -- Looney Toons (talk) 15:38, 10 June 2019 (UTC)

Request noted, though this is now a Terms of Use issue, I’m declining this on that basis but will look into it separately shortly as a separate matter, which will be dealt with out requiring further intervention from you. John (talk) 15:54, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
All unrelated. John (talk) 16:14, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
Thanks. -- Looney Toons (talk) 17:14, 10 June 2019 (UTC)

@Void: can you list the related accounts?--MCpillager (talk) 11:15, 13 June 2019 (UTC)
If they weren't locked, they are unrelated. -- Void Whispers 01:39, 17 June 2019 (UTC)

한국동요위키's sitename problem[edit | edit source]

koreadongyo.miraheze.org 한국동요위키's name is broken. it's name is '한국동요위키', but because of error, it's name was broked and changed to 한국동요위키 --Dongyomania (talk) 03:12, 12 June 2019 (UTC)

sitename of libre.miraheze.org was broked too. --Dongyomania (talk) 03:19, 12 June 2019 (UTC)

You'll have to fix it with Special:ManageWiki. Should just have to replace the broken name with the intended one. -- Void Whispers 04:40, 12 June 2019 (UTC)
I hate to say this, but some issues are caused by our tech staff, and I think they are responsible for fixing them back. Why do you ask the local crats to fix them by themselves instead (which in many cases won't work because they are no longer active)?--開拓者 (The Pioneer) (talk/contribs | global🌎) 05:59, 14 June 2019 (UTC)
I have checked all the Japanese wikis to find that there are about 20 wikis with non-active crats (and not all of them are dead communities to be clear). The Japanese group is probably not the largest non-English community, and it's likely that we still have dozens of wikis suffering from a similar situation - broken names, with some of them still have their permission groups unfixed.--開拓者 (The Pioneer) (talk/contribs | global🌎) 06:09, 14 June 2019 (UTC)

Please delete all 73 of "Category:CGS Serge kit image" files on sdiywiki[edit | edit source]

Please would a steward delete all 73 of the files in "Category:CGS Serge kit image" from sdiywiki? -- Rob Kam (talk) 16:25, 13 June 2019 (UTC)

Yes check.svg Done. Just as a side note, these kind of things are done by sysadmins and not stewards :) Reception123 (talk) (C) 17:48, 13 June 2019 (UTC)
Thanks Rob Kam (talk) 17:53, 13 June 2019 (UTC)
