Wiki reopening requests
Welcome to wiki reopening requests!

You may request a closed wiki be reopened (if you are not a bureaucrat) if it was closed due to inactivity or closed manually by a bureaucrat. Please consider the below for what this page cannot support.

  • If the wiki has been deleted: this page should be skipped in favor of making an entry on the Steward requests/(Un)deletions area.
  • If the wiki has been closed manually: any reopening must be discussed with the local administrators or raised here, making the fact that it was closed manually here known.
  • If you are already a bureaucrat: Visit Special:ManageWiki on your own wiki and uncheck *closed*. You will be set from there.
  • If you would like to adopt a wiki including administrator & bureaucrat rights: Please review adoption and make this intent known in your request. For wikis that are not automatically closed, please start a local election.

Wikis that are set to private cannot be adopted due to privacy! You must be a registered user to request a reopening.

To make a request, copy the following code, and place it at the very bottom of this page. Replace every section as needed:

{{subst::Requests_for_reopening_wikis/boilerplate
|wiki = SUBDOMAIN_HERE <!--Replace this with the subdomain of the wiki. Do not include the ".miraheze.org" part-->
|bureaucrat = <!-- Are you a bureaucrat on the wiki (usually also the 'founder' of the wiki)? IF THE ANSWER IS YES, DO NOT CONTINUE WITH THIS REQUEST! INSTEAD GO TO Special:ManageWiki ON YOUR WIKI AND UNCHECK THE "Closed" BOX -->
|reason =
<!-- Leave everything below as it is -->
|user = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}}

Status:  Not done

I want this wiki icsbattlesandwars.miraheze.org to be reopened as I forget that this wiki existed, and want it to be continued again.

Not done: The wiki is not closed, which is what this section is for. If you want permissions on the wiki, you can try making a request on Steward requests/Permissions. BlankEclair (talk, contribs, CA) 11:19, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Buehl106: apologies, this  cannot be done because the wiki has been dropped. However I will leave a note to check if a server copy might still exist. --raidarr (💬) 14:01, 26 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

According to this page, the wiki is being converted into a static Hugo site. Tali64³ (talk | contributions) 19:52, 27 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Marking as not done, site has migrated off Miraheze per Tali's note above. --NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 19:57, 27 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I cannot find any wiki associated with this subdomain (or via your user's CentralAuth record), nor am I familiar with who BC is. Is it possible that a different subdomain or URL is used for this wiki? --NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 20:17, 4 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No.This wiki was created by クールトレイン777 himself. by Buehl106·Talk·e-mail 05:07, 5 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've confirmed that this wiki was hard-deleted sometime between August and now, so undeletion/restoration by stewards is not possible. A backup may exist, but will require you to file a ticket at https://issue-tracker.miraheze.org for the tech team to investigate. --NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 01:16, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Wiki: empiresoftheforgottenworld.miraheze.org (On wiki: ManageWiki (e, n, p, s) • ManageWiki logRecent Changes - On Meta: Wiki requestManageWiki/core)
  • Username: RoyalPolanman (userrights)
  • Are you a bureaucrat? (yes/no): Yes
  • Reason: I am the founder of the wiki and have been working steadily for the last few months to get it up and running, and today, when I am finally successful in doing so, and begin to build multiple pages dedicated to the alternate history I have created, it suddenly informs me that my wiki has been closed, and when attempting to follow standard procedure as the creator (unchecking the closed box), it informs me that my wiki has had it's management rights restricted! Please return to me control of my wiki so I may continue the dutiful work I have been putting in over the last many months. Just look at the pages, I am in progress of writing out stories for whole new countries, I have been making maps and flags. I do not wish for this all to go to waste. Please, I wish to work on my wiki.

Copying Wikipedia verbatim (including its main page) is quite an interesting way to build a worldbuilding wiki. Tali64³ (talk | contributions) 23:07, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am starting it as a base and building changes on it. I just now started getting the templates and modules to work, I haven't had the ability to change it. Go to the actual pages and you will see uniqueness. RoyalPolanman (talk) 23:13, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have been working on this for 3 months it is cruel to strip all the work of copy pasting modules and templates I have been doing just because you disagree with how I'm setting it up. RoyalPolanman (talk) 23:14, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please, I've been working for so long. RoyalPolanman (talk) 23:35, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm working on the worldbuilding, I just needed the base, go to the Eastern Roman Air Force page. RoyalPolanman (talk) 23:36, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You will have to discuss this with @Reception123: as they are the Steward who closed your wiki. Tali64³ (talk | contributions) 23:37, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
How do I contact them? RoyalPolanman (talk) 23:39, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You may use their talk page, email them or [email protected]/the talk pages of any other Steward; as I am not a Steward, I cannot modify ManageWiki on wikis I do not have the managewiki right on. Tali64³ (talk | contributions) 23:44, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@RoyalPolanman: One of the issues is that you are copying the wiki articles without respecting copyright by simply copy/pasting without attribution rather than using Special:Export on Wikipedia and then Special:Import (or Special:RequestImport on Meta). Secondly, where is the uniqueness you mention? I looked at most pages and I saw that they were completely copied from Wikipedia, and changing a few words doesn't really make too much of a difference. I don't see how fully copying Wikipedia articles can be helpful to setting up a wiki about worldbuilding that is supposed to be unique. Reception123 (talk) (C) 04:43, 24 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't know how to use the import/export feature you mentioned, and neither did I know it existed, and secondly, when you shut it down I was in the middle of building the Eastern Roman Empire's air force section.
I was using the original Wikipedia style as a base and changing it once I got the modules, templates, and styles set up.
I wanted the wiki to look like Wikipedia, but once you actually got on it to have major differences.
I was also going to majorly overhaul World War I, add World War III. I haven't gotten the chance. I just started worldbuilding work today and then it got shut down. RoyalPolanman (talk) 10:42, 24 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm extending World War I to 1919 and having major expansions in South America, Africa, and Asia.
I have an entirely new continent in the southern Atlantic called Verdia I'm adding.
I've been making maps and flags.
If you go to the Rhodes/Eastern Roman Empire page you can see I just started there, I'm ripping the base out and refurbishing it with actual history, but I got cut off wile I was working.
If the issue is that I kept Wikipedia's imaging and titling, I was not planning on keeping it, I just wanted to make sure I could get the front page to work. RoyalPolanman (talk) 10:47, 24 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If there's an image issue with copyright I will remove the images, and any text I am planning on refurbishing.
If the issue with copyright needs to be solved now I can delete the pages and only post them once overhauls are made. RoyalPolanman (talk) 10:50, 24 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Any issue there is I am willing to fix, just tell me what to do. RoyalPolanman (talk) 10:52, 24 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

(reset indent) Thanks for making this clear. I have reopened your wiki to give you a chance to correct the issues that have been identified. Please note that you must have original content and simply reproducing Wikipedia articles will lead to it being closed again in the future, so for now I will give you a chance to fix that. In terms of copyright, it is not only images, it is the fact that you must use Special:Export on Wikipedia and Special:Import (or Special:RequestImport on Meta if the file is large) in order to use Wikipedia articles. Simply copy/pasting them is a copyright violation. Reception123 (talk) (C) 11:12, 24 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I sincerely apologize, I didn't know about that issue, it won't happen again and I will use that feature from now on. RoyalPolanman (talk) 11:15, 24 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Is there any reason you'd like to reopen and maintain this specific outdated wiki by yourself instead of contributing to the community maintained Weird Gloop wiki? ╚PixDeVl╝ (Talk Contributions CentralAuth) 03:05, 24 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'd like to reopen this one because there can be differences in content, and this wiki is also the main search result over the other one due to the name in the wiki. People also (no offense to the wiki) might trust a wiki with the direct namesake "Minecraft", rather than that. (again no offense) Miner (talk) 00:58, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure what you mean by differences in content, but the rest is incorrect. The Weird Gloop 'official' wiki is "The Minecraft Wiki" and the first result for minecraft wiki on Google(the closed miraheze wiki should basically not show up at all, let alone over FANDOM or Weird Gloop). Also, minecraft.wiki would almost certainly be more trustworthy looking then minecraft.miraheze.org. ╚PixDeVl╝ (Talk Contributions CentralAuth) 02:19, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm speaking from personal search, like literally minutes before I requested I searched something up, and found it on this one, not the weird gloop one, I redid the search and didn't find the weird gloop one at all. Miner (talk) 19:10, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What search engine do you use? I haven't ever seen anyone see something like that. ╚PixDeVl╝ (Talk Contributions CentralAuth) 19:28, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Marking as not done, wiki in question was originally closed for policy violations (licensing + attribution), legitimate editor communities have moved on to https://minecraft.wiki/, contributions should be directed there instead. --NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 16:11, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

(Non-admin observation) Wikis don’t have "owners." If you’re the founder of gordianconservationwiki, you should have the had bureaucrat user rights? – 🏵️Metrago 06:58, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I didn’t realize I had made two accounts. One as owner one to post. Thanks for the help. I got it fixed with this account. AlicedeChatillon (talk) 15:45, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Closing as redundant, thanks for the update! --NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 16:12, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. – 🏵️Metrago 16:27, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
