Requests[edit | edit source]

Administrator/Bureaucrat access[edit | edit source]

Instructions/Read before making a request

Use this section to request Stewards grant you administrator or bureaucrat rights on a wiki without any active bureaucrats (or unwilling bureaucrats if they refuse to certify a successful vote) following a local election. We normally don't grant permissions without a local election for advanced rights like this so you'll need to make a local election unless you accidentally demoted yourself.

If you accidentally removed your own permissions, you can also use this section to request re-addition.

To make a request, press "edit" next to the "Administrator/Bureaucrat access" section header, copy the following code and place it at the very bottom of this section. Replace every section as needed:

=== Username@<subdomain>wiki ===
{{Permission request
 |status    = <!-- Do not remove this! -->
 |wiki      = <!-- Replace with subdomain of wiki -->
 |user name = <!-- Replace with username -->
 |discussion= <!-- Replace with link to discussion, if any -->
}}

Darkrai18@nintendowiki[edit | edit source]

The bureaucrat and wiki founder has been inactive since May 2023. As for me, I've been a regular contributor for many weeks. I've also created several templates and several pages. I've also started a local election on the discussion page of the homepage detailing my background on the wiki and my intentions. So I'm asking for bureaucrat rights and if that's not possible, at least administrator rights. Thank you in advance. Darkrai18 (talk) 12:22, 13 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi @Darkrai18. In accordance with the Local policy, recommend that you first contact the bureaucrat Bawitdaba. They are currently active in Mariopedia, so I think you'll get a reply. --1108-Kiju/Talk 03:57, 14 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@1108-Kiju: I already tried to contact him some time ago here: https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/User_talk:Bawitdaba#Can_we_talk? and here: https://mariopedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Bawitdaba#The_Nintendo_Wiki, also on Discord, but he never replied. On hold until get a reply. --1108-Kiju/Talk 15:07, 14 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
What if he never replies, or refuses me rights and still doesn't contribute to the wiki? Darkrai18 (talk) 15:40, 14 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

topheroes[edit | edit source]

Hello I'm the community lead for a mobile game called top heroes, and I'm looking for a place to start my game wiki. This is where I came across Miraheze. However upon looking into this further, I noticed that the name Topheroes not available for use. In fact it is an inactive, and deleted wiki. The founder has no contribution history and left it to die. Since then I have already gotten an approval to undelete the wiki. This request to gain administrator and also bureaucrat over that wiki so i can have full autonomy and control in maintaining the wiki for myself, and remove all existing users from before. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TopHeroes (talkcontribs) 17:05, 14 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi! I am a googology lover. I want be an admin in a wiki. I see there is a googology wiki on Miraheze here! But I seems it is inactivity(do not understand to Miraheze's Wiki inactivity (will deleted).). I want be an admin and change the wiki now. Can I accept to this wants?

I'll makes edits on Googology wiki now.Gongxiang01 (talk) 12:55, 24 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Requirements have not been met for appointment, there is already an active, extant community that has made edits within the last few days. Please follow the rules outlined in Local elections to hold a local election and reopen this request when criteria have been met.

Funfacterdroid@neworderwiki[edit | edit source]

I imported around 17 pages after trying to move from Wikitide, the domain ended up being already used but deleted (and in Polish, which I cannot read). So I had to make the request to undelete it, which just went through. There were no other editors on the original Wikitide wiki and there doesn't appear to be any other pages that I didn't import. I don't even know the username of the original founder.

This is now  Done, thanks --NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 02:54, 27 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

BettaCallSoul@loonathewikiwiki[edit | edit source]

I (stupidly) used a disposable email service to create the account I created my wiki with (User:Chuuniversal Studios) and am now locked outside of it after I couldn't recover the password. After wrestling for some time over how to get back in, I decided to just create another account (this one, linked to an actual retrievable email) and continue my wiki journey from here. However, when I created a few pages and made a few edits, I got messages afterwards saying they're 'pending' and were sent to moderators, i.e. my old account I can't access. So I'm humbly asking to have admin, bureaucrat, and interface admin status, basically all the permissions gained by default when a wiki is created.

My old username is the same as my Reddit username in case there's doubts or questions about identity. :)

Thank you very much, have a good day, and stan LOONA! BettaCallSoul (talk) 17:06, 2 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Speckswiththejunior@kugelnio2wiki[edit | edit source]

So, there's a wiki that isn't considered inactive because it keeps getting vandalized, and the only admin has left Miraheze and left the community this wiki is supposed to be about. I want to moderate it to remove the vandalism and try to bring it back, add more stuff. The only other people who could be in a election are the vandalizers that could ruin it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Speckswiththejunior (talkcontribs) 13:46, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Speckswiththejunior: If an election is attempted in good faith and is vandalized, Stewards may be brought in to eliminate the vandals and let the election proceed normally. Otherwise it would be best to try and deal with the troublemakers if they appear. --raidarr (💬) 00:05, 10 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Side note, comments like "Get the fuck out of the wiki, you immature kid." even to vandals is highly frowned upon, having given the wiki a cursory glance. --raidarr (💬) 00:06, 10 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
On hold, wiki is under investigation for content policy violations, including fork of existing wiki not approved by stewards that may result in shutdown. --NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 21:51, 12 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Person16384@bfdiwiki[edit | edit source]

Hello. I found out there was a wiki for Battle For Dream Island a few months earlier. However, the only administrator on the wiki has been inactive since November 2023, and the wiki is currently severely disorganized with almost no templates present. If BFDI was not a popular fandom, the wiki would have most likely been closed, again due to the lack of organization. I was wondering if it was possible for you to give me administrator and bureaucrat for the BFDI wiki on Miraheze, as I would like it to flourish much more than it currently is. Person16384 (talk) 15:39, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Person16384: In order to take command on the wiki, a local election must be filed per the linked page. After 5-7 days the conclusion can be brought here and this request can proceed on the Steward end; otherwise Stewards generally do not just give rights on request even with rationale such as this unless the process is done. --raidarr (💬) 00:01, 10 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Raidarr: Okay, I have started a local election on the wiki here. Let me know if I also need to do something else in order to make the election valid. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Person16384 (talkcontribs) 02:25, 11 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Person16384: great! in 5-7 days feel free to stop by and Stewards can take a look & finalize. The 'onhold' mark can be taken off then as well. --raidarr (💬) 11:28, 11 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Raidarr: Okay, so I have waited for around 6 days, and here are the results for the election. Person16384 (talk) 12:36, 17 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Nexovia@olympicswiki[edit | edit source]

Hello It's me Nexovia I am working on the Olympics Wiki but it's founder and the whole community is inactive so I have the Sysop rights but I couldn't perform all actions needed so could you provide me the crat rights and I have tried conducting local elections but the community is also inactive so could I get the rights.Nexovia (talk) 09:43, 11 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Nexovia: the election should proceed for 5-7 days and I would recommend you do the following to spruce it up:
  • Add a signature to your request so it is clear who you are if someone such as the founder takes a peek
  • Give your request a title so it has a clear section, and a discussion subsection for anyone if they do appear to leave feedback
After that period please come back and let us know: you can remove the 'onhold' piece of the status then. --raidarr (💬) 11:14, 11 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Massotiwe@massotis[edit | edit source]

Hello,

The wiki massotis.miraheze.org has been deleted after a period of inactivity, and has been reopened through a steward request. It looks like I lost bureaucrat permission, which I held before, in the process. Would it be possible to fix this? Thanks a lot! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Massotiwe (talkcontribs) 18:53, 14 April 2024

I have reset default permissions on the wiki, which has recreated all missing groups. Please let us know if issues persist. --NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 19:08, 14 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

São tome@polandballfr[edit | edit source]

Hello! I want to be a bureaucrat for this wiki so I can expand it and make it at the level of other Polandball wikis in other languages. You see, I see a great opportunity in this wiki, since it could make several French-speaking users learn about the Polandball community and in turn contribute to the wiki. One of my biggest contributions was creating an Infobox for most of the articles on the wiki.

The wiki for now does not have many active users, it only has 2 Spanish-speaking users that I invited to contribute by creating articles, so I need a requirement to be a bureaucrat, but I think this is optional when wanting to be a bureaucrat of a wiki with few taxpayers. That would be all from me, I hope you can read this and accept me as a bureaucrat of this wiki São tome (talk) 22:28, 14 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi São tome. If you wish to gain crat rights on/adopt a wiki with no active crats to contact, please see the Local Elections page. ╚pixDeVl╝ (Talk Contributions CentralAuth) 01:32, 15 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Confirmed. This is a delicate case. It is one step away from meeting the active user count requirement, so it may be acceptable depending on the status of the election. Please reopen the election and give the community an opportunity to voice their opinions for at least two weeks. Sorry, We cannot accept it at this time. Agent Isai@commonswiki[edit | edit source]

MacFan4000 (Talk Contribs) 15:57, 10 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@MacFan4000: a user's 2c on this. While it's unfortunate to hold the hat and have no local capacity (I'd personally err towards shedding if I'm just absent), some consideration should be given to the fact agent is at least accessible imo. His activity is hardly unusual in a list with 6 bureaucrats, of whom only you and reception have made any edits that can possibly be considered recent. On the other hand dmehus in particular has been rarely sighted around the platform in a long time, and further has no particular global function which commons access makes convenient to perform (commons being an official miraheze project which imo should invite a different train of thought than the 'usual' wiki). A similar argument could be made for Hispano though he might still be conveniently reachable given his recent edits on some wikis. I'm not saying there's no basis for this, but how to resolve the wider problem should be discussed. Perhaps there should be a cleanup of how commons is locally run to encourage proactive local admins & bureaucrats, formally endorse stewards to act as admins/bureaucrats given it is a miraheze project, and otherwise see if there are options to clean up commons as a support wiki for the platform. --raidarr (💬) 17:23, 14 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Pinging @Agent Isai as they had plans to revisit an overhaul of commons post-merger... --NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 16:40, 18 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Raidarr, I plan on resuming more regular activity on Miraheze Commons, which, incidentally, were part of my original plans when I joined Miraheze, but got sidelined due to other global responsibilities at the time. That being said, Miraheze Commons is one of those wikis where I think it's useful to have both active local bureaucrats and administrators, but also at the same time allowing Stewards and Global Sysops to act on the wiki without the usual "waiting period" for local interference, so I like your latter suggestion. ;)
Also, welcome back. Glad to have you back! :) Dmehus (talk) 21:16, 23 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

That isn't a valid demotion reason. Bad understandings can happen, we aren't trying to be difficult for you, it's just that most of us don't speak Chinese so we can't always understand your wiki requests. There aren't many human translators available that speak Chinese fluently and also fluently speak a language like English or Spanish that wiki reviewers can understand. I've responded to your message on BrandonWM's talk page about this to explain why there was a misunderstanding, but escalating conflict to this level is considered inappropriate behavior on Miraheze, and if we reach a severe situation (which I hope we don't), you may be blocked from participating in some parts of Miraheze due to violations of the Miraheze rules. Please try to resolve disputes as politely as possible without escalating issues unnecessarily. コレイ (talk) (contributions) 03:19, 18 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

FjattarRefreshment@mockupediawiki[edit | edit source]

FjattarRefreshment is an admin on Mockupedia, but he vandalized my userpage for no reason (if my userpage looks not vandalized, thats mean I had revert that, see the page logs please for evidences). I had to revert that but he reverted it again, causing reverting war between I and FjattarRefreshment. The userpage should be written by user itself tho. I'm also an admin on Mockupedia and i tired to revert it back again. So the wiki need to remove FjattarRefreshment from administrator, but the only bureaucrat, Vladislav Fesko is inactive enough to do that. Also he even delete my bureaucrat local election on Mockupedia talk:Community Portal.

HoloCraft (talk) 11:03, 28 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

(Non-steward comment) As an additional note of conduct, The portal (mockupedia:Mockupedia_talk:Community_portal, case sensitive) was also deleted entirely back in Nov 23, and renamed to 'Poor protesters' objects'. I am not familiar with Steward polices on local permission revocation and will not pretend to be, I just include this for clarification and ease of finding the typo linked page(although I don't in any way think it would be incorrect to say this is in no way conduct becoming of a local sysop, I leave all judgments of the matter to Stewards). ╚pixDeVl╝ (Talk Contributions CentralAuth) 12:15, 28 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
This is a case that has been bounced on the SR for some time and the issues reported during the 'dark age' continue to be taking place. Stewards know where to find me if they'd like further background on this long-running mess. Imo the key here is the local election being subverted which ensures no transfer of power to a more pro/active top management can take place. If Fjattar is not cooperative upon intervention to ensure an election can take place then a sysop removal is probably warranted. Attempts have been made to contact the bureaucrat who just doesn't seem to care, ever. --raidarr (💬) 12:28, 28 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Btw, the user TLE940mrhz is also an admin and not a sockpuppet of FjattarRefreshment, but he involve of defending FjattarRefreshment, which is also responsible for the local election attacks on mockupedia, so consider to demote him too. (Also please demote them now, there are 41 attacks about my user page and still counting).HoloCraft (talk) 13:44, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
User:HoloCraft: Perhaps decide that using a user page from login.miraheze.org is a better way, and delete it on your local wiki? Then the problem is solved. Your user page will be shown on all the wiki's you visit.
Now I agree that a user page is private space, and others shouldn't interfere with it. But if there is no agreement, then perhaps taking it outside of the wiki is the way to go forward.
Think about that. A steward would delete it from your local wiki, and that would be the final word.
You can request that on this page as well (I think)  Kind regards,   Rodejong   💬 Talk ✉️ Email  📝 Edits   Auth →  15:09, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
