Steward requests

This page lists request pages for tasks that require Stewards', or, in a limited number of circumstances, Global Sysops' intervention. If in doubt please try the community portal (or if local to meta, administrators' noticeboard) first, and you will be directed here if the matter requires a Steward.

Please choose the most appropriate page for your request from the list below. If nothing seems to fit, you can file under Miscellaneous.

CheckUser requests[edit | edit source]

LittlePerson10@metawiki[edit | edit source]

Dealt with, this is a holdout from a long string of related accounts including persistent vandalism and other antics across kugeln wikis, polandball and meta that have recently been locked. --raidarr (💬) 17:11, 2 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Werdoland@harkipediawiki[edit | edit source]

There is no basis to conduct a CheckUser on the user in question ("arrested for deleting pages" hardly even makes any sense); please stop filing frivolous requests or you may be blocked by a Meta administrator. Tali64³ (talk | contributions) 05:22, 27 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Vanish request?[edit | edit source]

Status:  Done

Disclaimer: Please note that I may not look into things, I did so today so I hope that'll suffice. I just didn't realize permanent vanishes can't be done by Stewards, but I don't intend to go to Trust and Safety, so yeah.

I'd like to vanish this account (I don't want to make another one at this moment - only if I feel like it, not sure if this is valid): User:WannurSyafiqah74 (account I made since 2018 or 2019, I believe?)

Since I figured I should send a request here, I thought it was done via email, whoops. I just haven't felt like being here for months until now, so I figured I might as well say something now.

I'd also like to know if I can change my username to WNH74, as I can send a vanish request. Or is that not possible? I haven't looked into these things so sorry if I sound stupid.

Update: I found out it doesn't save my new username, just changes it to "vanished account" if I do vanish it. I didn't look into it at the time so I'm sorry for all of this small trouble. Either way, I'd like a permanent vanish, please.

Thanks! WNH74 (talk) 12:58, 15 June 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Also sent a username request, sorry for all of the other ones from before. I'll just scrap the ideas for the crappy old ones in favor of something I've used before ("WNH74" on Wikia/Fandom (eugh)). Hope this makes sense? Yeah. Also thanks! WNH74 (talk) 13:03, 15 June 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
(non-steward comment) To clarify, you are requesting a change of user name without making the account vanish, correct? Waki285(talk|contrib|log|CA|Target) 13:26, 15 June 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Before the vanish. I'm just sending and asking this out of curiosity, so you can tell me how this works. WNH74 (talk) 14:59, 15 June 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The rename has been performed, though why you want a rename before a vanish eludes me. Please let us know if you'd like us to proceed with vanishing your newly-renamed account. --NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 21:12, 15 June 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Oh, I thought it'd save the username or something. Sorry for being confusing, I'll just look it up to see how it does work. But anyhow, yeah, please do proceed with permanently vanishing my account. WNH74 (talk) 07:58, 16 June 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I looked into the "disabling an account" page, thought it kept your username- I'm dumb, whoops. Well, either way, at least I stopped being lazy and read into it... after E-Mailing you too about it, whoops... my sincerest apologies. --WNH74 (talk) 08:03, 16 June 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Vanish completed. --NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 17:42, 16 June 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
(In revision 402539, you effectively stated that you can't go for a permanent vanish. Can you clarify this on your update that says "Either way, I'd like a permanent vanish, please"? Thanks.) BlankEclair (talk) 12:01, 16 June 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Permissions[edit | edit source]

Administrator/Bureaucrat access[edit | edit source]

Instructions/Read before making a request

Use this section to request Stewards grant you administrator or bureaucrat rights on a wiki without any active bureaucrats (or unwilling bureaucrats if they refuse to certify a successful vote) following a local election. We normally don't grant permissions without a local election for advanced rights like this so you'll need to make a local election unless you accidentally demoted yourself.

If you accidentally removed your own permissions, you can also use this section to request re-addition.

To make a request, press "edit" next to the "Administrator/Bureaucrat access" section header, copy the following code and place it at the very bottom of this section. Replace every section as needed:

=== Username@<subdomain>wiki ===
{{Permission request
 |status    = <!-- Do not remove this! -->
 |wiki      = <!-- Replace with subdomain of wiki -->
 |user name = <!-- Replace with username -->
 |discussion= <!-- Replace with link to discussion, if any -->
}}
Include any comments here ~~~~

Speckswiththejunior@kugelnio2wiki[edit | edit source]

So, there's a wiki that isn't considered inactive because it keeps getting vandalized, and the only admin has left Miraheze and left the community this wiki is supposed to be about. I want to moderate it to remove the vandalism and try to bring it back, add more stuff. The only other people who could be in a election are the vandalizers that could ruin it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Speckswiththejunior (talkcontribs) 13:46, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Speckswiththejunior: If an election is attempted in good faith and is vandalized, Stewards may be brought in to eliminate the vandals and let the election proceed normally. Otherwise it would be best to try and deal with the troublemakers if they appear. --raidarr (💬) 00:05, 10 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Side note, comments like "Get the fuck out of the wiki, you immature kid." even to vandals is highly frowned upon, having given the wiki a cursory glance. --raidarr (💬) 00:06, 10 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
On hold, wiki is under investigation for content policy violations, including fork of existing wiki not approved by stewards that may result in shutdown. --NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 21:51, 12 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
This one isn't a fork of an already existing wiki, kugelniowiki.miraheze.org was created after kugelnio2, and he only created it so he can get permissions on the wiki, which is not even evident for a wiki creation, considering you can just use steward requests because the admins are inactive Bicyclic (talk) 12:26, 21 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Are you actually really sure?? What are the violations that any admins did?? They were just being inactive. Plus, the "fork" is kugelniowiki.miraheze.org, which only started existing in I think either March or early April this year. This one, kugelnio2.miraheze.org, has evidence of existing at least before December 2023. Steward requests/Archive 39#Kugeln.io 2 Wiki
So, we can say, that kugelnio2.miraheze.org existed before kugelniowiki.miraheze.org
The wiki, kugelniowiki.miraheze.org has violations done by actual admins like including minor's ages and countries without permission from them or their legal guardians. The only active admin is also putting his rules to say that no bad grammar and spelling is allowed, while having the sentences to be filled with grammar and spelling mistakes. He is banning people he doesn't like for doing things outside of the wiki, who don't even break any rules. He's also a Peruvian that barely even knows English grammar and spelling, he's a guy who has no idea on how to even run or moderate a wiki. He just created a new wiki to get power over people and ban whoever he wants for no reason. LittlePerson10 (talk) 17:30, 21 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Not done, account is locked for related abuse. --raidarr (💬) 17:19, 2 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Person16384@bfdiwiki[edit | edit source]

Hello. I found out there was a wiki for Battle For Dream Island a few months earlier. However, the only administrator on the wiki has been inactive since November 2023, and the wiki is currently severely disorganized with almost no templates present. If BFDI was not a popular fandom, the wiki would have most likely been closed, again due to the lack of organization. I was wondering if it was possible for you to give me administrator and bureaucrat for the BFDI wiki on Miraheze, as I would like it to flourish much more than it currently is. Person16384 (talk) 15:39, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Person16384: In order to take command on the wiki, a local election must be filed per the linked page. After 5-7 days the conclusion can be brought here and this request can proceed on the Steward end; otherwise Stewards generally do not just give rights on request even with rationale such as this unless the process is done. --raidarr (💬) 00:01, 10 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Raidarr: Okay, I have started a local election on the wiki here. Let me know if I also need to do something else in order to make the election valid. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Person16384 (talkcontribs) 02:25, 11 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Person16384: great! in 5-7 days feel free to stop by and Stewards can take a look & finalize. The 'onhold' mark can be taken off then as well. --raidarr (💬) 11:28, 11 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Raidarr: Okay, so I have waited for around 6 days, and here are the results for the election. Person16384 (talk) 12:36, 17 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Request is off hold and forwarded to Steward attention. --raidarr (💬) 14:40, 17 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Raidarr: On second thought, I have decided to withdraw my request to become the administrator and bureaucrat for the BFDI wiki, as I have decided to leave the BFDI fandom entirely. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Person16384 (talkcontribs) 02:18, 20 April 2024

Nexovia@olympicswiki[edit | edit source]

Hello It's me Nexovia I am working on the Olympics Wiki but it's founder and the whole community is inactive so I have the Sysop rights but I couldn't perform all actions needed so could you provide me the crat rights and I have tried conducting local elections but the community is also inactive so could I get the rights.Nexovia (talk) 09:43, 11 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Nexovia: the election should proceed for 5-7 days and I would recommend you do the following to spruce it up:
  • Add a signature to your request so it is clear who you are if someone such as the founder takes a peek
  • Give your request a title so it has a clear section, and a discussion subsection for anyone if they do appear to leave feedback
After that period please come back and let us know: you can remove the 'onhold' piece of the status then. --raidarr (💬) 11:14, 11 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Do I have to make another request or this one will be ok. @Raidarr Nexovia (talk) 12:04, 11 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Massotiwe@massotis[edit | edit source]

Hello,

The wiki massotis.miraheze.org has been deleted after a period of inactivity, and has been reopened through a steward request. It looks like I lost bureaucrat permission, which I held before, in the process. Would it be possible to fix this? Thanks a lot! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Massotiwe (talkcontribs) 18:53, 14 April 2024

I have reset default permissions on the wiki, which has recreated all missing groups. Please let us know if issues persist. --NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 19:08, 14 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

São tome@polandballfr[edit | edit source]

Hello! I want to be a bureaucrat for this wiki so I can expand it and make it at the level of other Polandball wikis in other languages. You see, I see a great opportunity in this wiki, since it could make several French-speaking users learn about the Polandball community and in turn contribute to the wiki. One of my biggest contributions was creating an Infobox for most of the articles on the wiki.

The wiki for now does not have many active users, it only has 2 Spanish-speaking users that I invited to contribute by creating articles, so I need a requirement to be a bureaucrat, but I think this is optional when wanting to be a bureaucrat of a wiki with few taxpayers. That would be all from me, I hope you can read this and accept me as a bureaucrat of this wiki São tome (talk) 22:28, 14 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi São tome. If you wish to gain crat rights on/adopt a wiki with no active crats to contact, please see the Local Elections page. ╚pixDeVl╝ (Talk Contributions CentralAuth) 01:32, 15 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Nexovia@royaltywiki[edit | edit source]

The Royalpedia is a Wiki for monarchy related problems and I also work on same monarchy related Wiki named BritishRoyals and seen it the Bureacrat and Sysops are inactive there I decided to conduct and local election but there was no active community there are two peoples much active and still contribute but I think they are not interested in the post I had nominated one of them cause they were more active than me but they took no interest so I couldn't do anything and the main founder and sysop both are inactive since years so I would request the either Bureacrat or Admin rights cause these rights are needed to make wikis more better so I am requesting the rights here. --Nexovia (talk) 05:53, 21 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Nexovia:, why is the closed template used to indicate 'in progress' for an election that was just posted today to become bureaucrat? You requested interface admin there, changed it to bureaucrat then basically closed it, but are asking for 'either Bureaucrat or Admin' here also today. This is an unusual use of the local election process; at least, a request for the rights you want should individually go for 5-7 days and only be closed once reviewed by a local bureaucrat or in this case a Steward.
Noting also that this wiki should come under review: a cursory look at recent changes indicates copy pasted content from Wikipedia. I didn't look thoroughly but this seems to be the core of PennState2023!'s editing there. --raidarr (💬) 12:21, 21 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
So at all what should I do now what is the way? Nexovia (talk) 13:10, 21 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

On hold To begin with, you will need to contact the bureaucrat. Let us know if you do not receive a reply, we will post your election notice in Sitenotice.

About pages copied from Wikipedia: I will investigate later. --1108-Kiju/Talk 03:16, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

As told I have messaged the Bureaucrat of the Wiki and I haven't received any reply from it so can it be published. Nexovia (talk) 13:39, 26 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
At a glance basically every page is either lazily rewritten or straight up stolen content from Wikipedia. For this reason Stewards will discuss if the wiki will even continue to be in operation, then get back to election if yes. --raidarr (💬) 09:23, 3 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

With apologies for the delay and regardless of the content problem, the 5-7 day period can now begin. Keep in mind that no votes = unsuccessful, because there is a local community which can give its opinion and apathy is not agreement. There should be support among the editing base for you to get advanced rights. If successful, something that will be expected is effort to clean up the content which has been just ripped off Wikipedia without attribution. Tackling this problem now could improve your election chances. --raidarr (💬) 00:19, 4 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

There has been no change/interaction with the election over an extended period; it is consequentially  unsuccessful from a Steward perspective. --raidarr (💬) 19:22, 15 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

183231bcb@rainversewiki[edit | edit source]

The Rainverse Wiki was forked from Fandom on March 8 of this year. The person who created the fork, AwesomeGamerX, has made a total of 1 edit , in which he renamed the main page. During the first two weeks he made several changes to the ManageWiki settings that were requested of him via Discord DM, but he has stopped doing so. His most recent action, on April 8, was to make me an admin. He did not comment on his reasons for doing so. He has not responded to my Discord DMs asking him to make either me or another editor a bureacrat, despite still being active on Discord.

There are three active editors: Me, AvgHelper, and BlankEclair. All three of us want there to be an active bureacrat to enable extensions we need, create new namespaces (we want a namespace for each comic series), and add interwiki prefixes. Five days ago (either April 17 or April 18 depending on your time zone) I created a local election to elect a new bureacrat. The election was advertised widely as possible, including on the main page, the official Rainverse Discord server, and the Rainverse Wiki fediverse account (which I boosted with my main fediverse account, since that has a lot more followers). Despite the publicity effort, AwesomeGamerX did not comment on the election, either publicly or via Discord DM.

All active editors voted, and the unanimous opinion is to elevate all three active editors to bureacrat status. I am therefore requesting that the stewards make all three of us bureacrats, or at least make one of us a bureacrat so we can promote the other two people.

Thanks 183231bcb (talk) 23:56, 22 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I would like to also add that he has still not responded to questions that I have raised on his talk page three and a half weeks ago. - BlankEclair (talk) 06:02, 23 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The vote was among interested parties, but since only you are community members, there is no reason to reject it. This is  Done --1108-Kiju/Talk 03:34, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Jazzedpineda@genericcookinggamewiki[edit | edit source]

The wiki founder and only bureaucrat, AltandeseCreator, has been inactive for a little over 100 days. A local election is not suitable because I (Jazzedpineda) and AltandeseCreator are the only users (not including stewards, "Abuse filter", and "MediaWiki default"). I am requesting bureaucrat rights because I am currently in the process of moving the Generic Cooking Game Wiki from Fandom to Miraheze. Jazzedpineda (talk) 02:16, 24 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

You are not a member of the wiki and therefore cannot accept this. --1108-Kiju/Talk 03:37, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The Generic Cooking Game Wiki was last edited by some IP users who made nonsensical articles. Most of the edits were made by AltandeseCreator. It has two articles: "Croissant" and "Office", the latter of which has nonsensical content. I am not planning to make edits there right now because the first thing I want to do with the wiki is to import a database dump from the corresponding Fandom wiki. Jazzedpineda (talk) 05:05, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Is there a relationship between the Fandom wiki and genericcookinggamewiki? Importing data into a wiki created by someone else is not acceptable. 1108-Kiju/Talk 23:40, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The only bureaucrat of the Fandom wiki has been inactive for 9 months, and I can no longer contact him/her because his/her Discord account got deleted. Therefore, I cannot become an administrator of the Fandom wiki. This is one of many reasons why we, the Generic Cooking Game community, chose to move to Miraheze. I got approval from some Fandom wiki administrators and the game's creator to start the migration process. Jazzedpineda (talk) 05:06, 26 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Oh, the community decided to make transition, I didn't know that. Could you link to that page? 1108-Kiju/Talk 03:11, 27 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The conversation about moving the Generic Cooking Game Wiki to Miraheze happened on Discord. Here is the conversation: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Qz4wbwV4HYiP1HQYjnUVwhNlhV9VWmNHszg0T-0-4L4/edit?usp=sharing Jazzedpineda (talk) 09:19, 27 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Also, The Fandom wiki has an interactive map for the game's restuarant. Miraheze doesn't have an extension that can make Fandom-style interactive maps, but ImageMap exists. This is why I converted this request into a request for bureaucrat rights, because I want access to ManageWiki and enable the ImageMap extension. Don't worry because once I have bureaucrat rights, I can make myself an administrator. Jazzedpineda (talk) 02:41, 29 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Jazzedpineda: apologies for the delayed response; I don't like to be bureaucratic but unfortunately we cannot base on screenshots of a non-public discord server, and so ask that a local election be used to establish local authority even if the outcome is low participation. --raidarr (💬) 19:25, 15 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Silicona@androidwiki[edit | edit source]

I have created this local election for bureaucrat rights on Android Wiki, see this link above. --Silicona (talk) 19:47, 28 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Local bureaucrat was active two weeks ago, please contact them first. If they do not respond, Stewards will conduct necessary process for the election. --1108-Kiju/Talk 23:23, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I contacted 3 days ago, but the bureaucrat did not respond. See mh:android:User talk:PretzelBubbleTea. Silicona (talk) 06:43, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
You did not make a specific request, please tell them directly that you are requesting a crat. --1108-Kiju/Talk 06:56, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I told the local bureaucrat about local election. I'll wait and see. Silicona (talk) 07:22, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
After 3 days? You could give the guy a few days more? The poor fellow might be in Hospital, Vacation, etc. No need to be impatient. Give him 14 days or so.  Kind regards,   Rodejong   💬 Talk ✉️ Email  📝 Edits   Auth →  09:13, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Per local election policy, 5-7 days is enough. I have to wait 2-4 days. Silicona (talk) 09:53, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
14 days, that's what you react on. But 3 days you totally ignore? The crat has been away for only 14 days. There sometimes goes a month before I check my emails. So he might not even be aware.  Kind regards,   Rodejong   💬 Talk ✉️ Email  📝 Edits   Auth →  10:24, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
5-7 days may be technically enough but activity within the month will be a determining factor and these various attempts to gather permissions on wikis are also noted; you have already acquired bureaucrat on a whopping 6 still living wikis some of which are fading off. Infoboxes seem like something that require no elevated permissions to deal with unless you want certain extensions enabled, theming could initially be trialed in userspace, and the homepage appears to be unprotected, so the reasoning for the request is a touch sparse. The local election page recommends a bare minimum: practice accounts for the entire circumstance. At the very least I doubt this will be closed favorably with no consensus on the minimum date. --raidarr (💬) 11:46, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@PretzelBubbleTea is active again. Silicona (talk) 12:27, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Oh that is nice. Then this can be closed, and you won't mind revoking the election then I guess :)  Kind regards,   Rodejong   💬 Talk ✉️ Email  📝 Edits   Auth →  12:43, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Per the above exchange I will mark this as  Not done due to existing bureaucrat activity recently. --raidarr (💬) 22:23, 4 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

DualPlay1@ballmediawiki[edit | edit source]

AgentIsai (former steward of Miraheze) and SchizoACC are a bureaucrats that aren't active now on Ballmedia. AgentIsai as you know left the Miraheze and i don't have a contact with SchizoACC. We did a local election in a private discord group. Although someone else will try to take over who wasn't very active in Ballmedia (less edits than me). I think that Ballmedia is very strategic point for -ball wikis that require care. Although I think that another steward should also look after Ballmedia, as was the case before. DualPlay1 (talk) 17:38, 2 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Marking this as  Not done for now; in order to figure this out I have resumed my role as Consul on Ballmedia (the last one, hadn't even realized I had it still until recently) and will be using that to try and guide reform including both you and perhaps Kymi should there be participation from that end as well. What comes of it will have to be determined locally and through existing channels, as we've been doing recently already. Note that a private discord vote does not suffice for stewards to assign rights on wikis. --raidarr (💬) 22:20, 4 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Other access[edit | edit source]

Instructions/Read before making a request

Use this section to request Stewards grant you minor local access such as autopatrolled, confirmed, or rollbacker on wikis without any active bureaucrats.

You may also use this section to request a Steward grant you a Global IP block exemption.

To make a request, press "edit" next to the "Other access" section header, copy the following code and place it at the very bottom of this section. Replace every section as needed (change <subdomain>wiki to global if requesting an IP block exemption):

Sometimes I'm not active at all so if I log in urgently on other devices I'll make sure I'm not blocked. I understand if for any reason i'm not given the permission. --Harommel (talk) 13:09, 24 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Could you elaborate on why that is required? 1108-Kiju/Talk 13:27, 24 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I need if someone with my IP address to log into Miraheze and vandalize a page. Since the IP address is blocked I can't edit. And neither can do an appeal. That's why. Harommel (talk) 13:37, 24 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Is it due to a global block? Global blocks are basically anonymous-only and can be edited only if you are login. 1108-Kiju/Talk 03:42, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Some (Miraheze hosted) wikis aren't like this, if there's an IP block with my IP address, logging in doesn't bypass the IP block. By being in the global IP exception group, i can make sure i can still edit even when an IP block happens with my IP address (or ranging from mine, and also near mine). I'm also sorry for replying 3 months later. Harommel Rabbid (talk) 15:27, 13 June 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

FjattarRefreshment@mockupediawiki[edit | edit source]

FjattarRefreshment is an admin on Mockupedia, but he vandalized my userpage for no reason (if my userpage looks not vandalized, thats mean I had revert that, see the page logs please for evidences). I had to revert that but he reverted it again, causing reverting war between I and FjattarRefreshment. The userpage should be written by user itself tho. I'm also an admin on Mockupedia and i tired to revert it back again. So the wiki need to remove FjattarRefreshment from administrator, but the only bureaucrat, Vladislav Fesko is inactive enough to do that. Also he even delete my bureaucrat local election on Mockupedia talk:Community Portal.

HoloCraft (talk) 11:03, 28 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

(Non-steward comment) As an additional note of conduct, The portal (mockupedia:Mockupedia_talk:Community_portal, case sensitive) was also deleted entirely back in Nov 23, and renamed to 'Poor protesters' objects'. I am not familiar with Steward polices on local permission revocation and will not pretend to be, I just include this for clarification and ease of finding the typo linked page(although I don't in any way think it would be incorrect to say this is in no way conduct becoming of a local sysop, I leave all judgments of the matter to Stewards). ╚pixDeVl╝ (Talk Contributions CentralAuth) 12:15, 28 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
This is a case that has been bounced on the SR for some time and the issues reported during the 'dark age' continue to be taking place. Stewards know where to find me if they'd like further background on this long-running mess. Imo the key here is the local election being subverted which ensures no transfer of power to a more pro/active top management can take place. If Fjattar is not cooperative upon intervention to ensure an election can take place then a sysop removal is probably warranted. Attempts have been made to contact the bureaucrat who just doesn't seem to care, ever. --raidarr (💬) 12:28, 28 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Btw, the user TLE940mrhz is also an admin and not a sockpuppet of FjattarRefreshment, but he involve of defending FjattarRefreshment, which is also responsible for the local election attacks on mockupedia, so consider to demote him too. (Also please demote them now, there are 41 attacks about my user page and still counting).HoloCraft (talk) 13:44, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
User:HoloCraft: Perhaps decide that using a user page from login.miraheze.org is a better way, and delete it on your local wiki? Then the problem is solved. Your user page will be shown on all the wiki's you visit.
Now I agree that a user page is private space, and others shouldn't interfere with it. But if there is no agreement, then perhaps taking it outside of the wiki is the way to go forward.
Think about that. A steward would delete it from your local wiki, and that would be the final word.
You can request that on this page as well (I think)  Kind regards,   Rodejong   💬 Talk ✉️ Email  📝 Edits   Auth →  15:09, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Content policy violations on the wiki are extensive and not the result of vandalism, several of which were undertaken by the crat/administrative team. This wiki will not be reopened, the administrative team should seek other hosting solutions if they wish to continue the project. --NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 23:02, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The only known administrator was User:DBS_Historian but he just disappeared after making an edit on the home page. I had to redo all of the edits some users did a while ago because he's literally the only person with admin rights and also the crat. He's in part responsible for the current lack of activity this site has. I can do my part but unfortunately I am not admin. FYI, you can gain bureaucrat and/or administrator rights by holding a local election on the wiki (this is currently moot, but just for future reference if you need it). BlankEclair (talk) 08:09, 1 June 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Admin here. I had requested the reopening of this wiki here before, and was told that only the Steward who closed it could reopen it. However I was unable to get a response from the Steward so I am not sure what I could do otherwise.
I had expressed my wish to clean up the wiki of content policy violations, which I do not believe were done by me as @NotAracham claims. I admit I have not been around enough and I would be willing to look into giving administrative rights to other users. DBS Historian (talk) 18:34, 6 June 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

See this statement. On top of it however I would set a high standard for coming up with a game plan, ie, more than the bar of just requesting a wiki, because this project directly competes with already well-established independent wiki projects and I'm uncomfortable letting it slip back in a cycle where random people play with it for a while and the cycle repeats again. Something like having an existing group, clear ideas how to update its contents and reach out to the community to develop, and so forth. --raidarr (💬) 18:44, 21 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Switching this to on-hold as a credible plan is needed from user in their reply. Will close this as not done at end of month. --NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 16:52, 25 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
(Non-steward comment) I don't have the authority to approve or close this, but personally I would highly recommend contributing to the main minecraft wiki, as it's very active and there's no real point in trying to maintain your own wiki on your own, it would be best for the community as a whole to have all the people who want to contribute to a minecraft wiki to be working on a single wiki, as to not waste editors time ╚PixDeVl╝ (Talk Contributions CentralAuth) 10:32, 20 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Reinstate wikis[edit | edit source]

Status:  Resolved

Hi there,

Would you be able to reinstate maiasongcontest.miraheze.org and avalon.miraheze.org please? Think they went inactive but wanted to get these back up.

Many thanks,

Josh AuroraBorealis (talk) 12:27, 26 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

See Requests for reopening wikis. Thank you, Globe - (TalkContributionsCA) 14:21, 27 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Globe, RfRW is not the correct venue for wikis that have already been deleted and fully removed from our databases, that is only appropriate when wikis are closed/inactive and a user would like to take over when there is no active crat to resume work.
@AuroraBorealis, as these wikis are fully gone, the next step would be to file a new request for a wiki, you can choose to request the same subdomain or a new one as you see fit.
--NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 22:45, 27 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I apologize for the confusion. When the author said they "went inactive" I thought that mean't that the wiki hadn't been fully deleted yet. Thank you for your correction. Globe - (TalkContributionsCA) 11:41, 28 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Is there no way of restoring previous content for this? -AuroraBorealis (talk) 15:57, 2 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@AuroraBorealis: if these wikis were public, you may find them on archive.org in the collection of dropped public wikis. It's not terribly convenient I'm afraid but each entry should have a standalone list of what's included which you can CTRL + F to find the subdomains. --raidarr (💬) 13:57, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Requestwiki block for Html123456[edit | edit source]

Username usurpation of User:Doug[edit | edit source]

Status:  Done

This will need to be in several parts. In the first part, User:Doug will need to be usurped as Doug. Note that the user is a 7 year old user accounts with zero global edits, as the edits on rosettacodewiki were not that user's edits, but rather were attributed to the user as the user had the same username as a user on the former rosettacodewiki (which was imported to Miraheze)

In the second part, you will need to globally rename me to Doug (without leaving redirects).

As part of the second part, SRE will likely need to run an SQL command to update my username from Dmehus to Doug in the global block table, as I believe a bug exists that that is not updated with the global rename

In the final part, can you create a new user Dmehus, and e-mail the password to my personal e-mail address (message me on IRC if you do not have it), to prevent impersonation?

Finally, I also own User:Doug on WikiTide, so this will make a much smoother transition and integration.

Cheers,

@Liên minh Dư Công: when I advised this page through Discord, I did so for the purpose of authorizing the scope change. Are you intending to change the wiki from mathenatics to fanonpedia, and have you gotten/are you seeking authorization to do so? When this is cleared up/if approved, the database change can be requested on Phorge. --raidarr (💬) 16:33, 11 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

--NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 22:42, 12 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
FYI: That request was denied by me.
I suggested: TIP: While working on "mathematics", you can start working on content for another wiki in your User Name space. This way you are not limited to this wiki's topic. You can than - when ready - request a new wiki and show what you have made. If approved, you can copy the pages over to the new wiki.
I still stand by that, but he wants to have two wiki's, not explaining why.  Kind regards,   Rodejong   💬 Talk ✉️ Email  📝 Edits   Auth →  00:02, 13 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Enable Citizen Skin on Meta[edit | edit source]

Due to stewards being the de facto bureaucrats on Meta (and that even historically, bureaucrats didn't hold ManageWiki permissions), I wish to have the Citizen skin as an option on Meta. Decapedia small shift in wiki topic[edit | edit source]

Status:  Done

Hi, I'm Lila/Theta, and I run Decapedia. If you're not in this niche of the Doctor Who fandom it might be kind of hard to explain, but essentially, Doctor Who focuses on the Doctor, and has little information about their time before leaving their home planet of Gallifrey, as the show starts after they leave. However, some Who media has had flashbacks or mentions of things that happened while the Doctor was at school, before leaving Gallifrey. Fans of this era are "Academy Era fans". There is also a past doctor adventure (doctor who novel) called divided loyalties that had full-on flashbacks to the Doctor's childhood with a group of friends known as 'The Deca'. There is a wonderful fanfic on AO3, called 'The Deca', that is about that period of time- the Deca time period in the Academy. My wiki covers this fanfiction. However, I am finding it increasingly difficult to properly cover the Deca fic without being able to cover other Academy Era fandom things and doctor who academy era things that aren't directly connected to the Deca fic, but provide a lot of context for it, especially with the relationship between theta (the Doctor) and koschei (the Master).

So, I would like to propose increasing coverage to actually have it as part of the coverage policy to cover these areas, but with the focus very much remaining on the Deca fic, with several sections on the wiki to direct users towards the different covered areas. The sections would be: the Deca fic, the Deca fandom, the Academy Era fandom, the Deca (Doctor Who), and the Academy era (Doctor Who). This would allow the wiki to properly cover the Deca fic as what it is, a fanfiction, because it would allow pages on the Who-counterparts parts of the fic/characters are based on. This would also allow the wiki to be more independent- at present, we just link to a relevant TARDIS wiki page, but I'm noticing that we have to do this a lot, and so it would make sense to have a proper rule about covering Who stuff, which only really makes sense if it's part of the wiki's coverage aims. And, as for the wider fandom, I cannot emphasise enough that this fandom is tiny. There are about 10 people who make all the fics, like, 5 artists, and one guy on youtube who used to upload vine compilations as the characters (and some of the videos are gone now anyway). My point here is that even if we were to make a page on every single piece of fanfiction about the Deca (which is absolutely not what I'm proposing, just that making pages on other, non-directly-connected-to-the-deca-fic fanworks should be allowed), it still would not nearly overtake the Deca fic coverage on the wiki. And, the deca fic would still be the main focus, so would still be the only thing fully covered, should have the most number of pages at any one time, things like that. Is this an acceptable shift change that the wiki would be allowed to make? To have sections on the wiki for partially covering other fanworks or ideas within the same overarching fandom that provide key context for the fic? Thanks for reaching out, consider this request for scope shift approved!

Change the subdomain, Site name and the category from Recogitate (plus reopen the closed wiki)[edit | edit source]

Status:  Cannot be undertaken

Hello. I'm requesting regarding the subdomain change, site name change and the category change from recogitate.miraheze.org.

The subdomain will be internova.miraheze.org; the site name will be The Internova Wiki; the category will be Community, as the topic, scope, and purpose will go as follows:

The Internova Wiki comes into an alternate timeline where the internet took a radically different form, known as the internova, leaving its appearance and function entirely to your imagination.

Its scope spans articles on the platform itself, detailing its past and present designs, look and features, user behaviors, and the demographics of its usage. This includes everything from the [imaginative] company behind it to the domain name it operates on, as well as imaginative websites within its realm.

The wiki's primary purpose is to reimagine internet scenarios, such as one where the ".com" domain symbolizes community rather than commercial or if HTML was something else. Other than that, it encourages contributors to make their own imaginative online domains/sites.

While contributions are welcomed, the main rule of this wiki is to have a decent English grammar.

P.S.: the basename from recogitatewiki will be internovawiki. GreatPat58 (talk) 20:22, 21 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Re-starting a deleted wiki[edit | edit source]

I'm not sure if it was ever related to what I'm trying to make a wiki for- but if it was, I'm not sure whether making a new wiki or adopting this deleted one is the right choice.'

Edit: I see above that I can just request a new wiki in this scenario? The subdomain isn't accepted no matter what I do. I'm a bit confused now. Any help is appreciated.
