Steward requests

This page lists request pages for tasks that require Stewards', or, in a limited number of circumstances, Global Sysops' intervention. If in doubt please try the community portal (or if local to meta, administrators' noticeboard) first, and you will be directed here if the matter requires a Steward.

Please choose the most appropriate page for your request from the list below. If nothing seems to fit, you can file under Miscellaneous.

CheckUser requests[edit | edit source]

LittlePerson10@metawiki[edit | edit source]

Dealt with, this is a holdout from a long string of related accounts including persistent vandalism and other antics across kugeln wikis, polandball and meta that have recently been locked. --raidarr (💬) 17:11, 2 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Werdoland@harkipediawiki[edit | edit source]

There is no basis to conduct a CheckUser on the user in question ("arrested for deleting pages" hardly even makes any sense); please stop filing frivolous requests or you may be blocked by a Meta administrator. Tali64³ (talk | contributions) 05:22, 27 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Unblock on Imagination Land Wiki[edit | edit source]

Status:  Not done

Hello, I was a former imagination land wiki until I got blocked for causing trouble on NQP which I apologize for, I wanted to contribute to a nice place where you can make fake media pages, but instead I’m blocked there, can I be unblocked by a steward there?LuzandAnneFTW (talk) 19:11, 16 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

You'll have to contact a local wiki administrator (either on your talk page or on Meta if you do not have talk page access locally) in order to appeal your ban on that wiki; Stewards do not intervene in local wikis affairs unless global policy violations are occurring. Tali64³ (talk | contributions) 19:28, 16 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
My talk page is locked on Imagination Land. LuzandAnneFTW (talk) 19:30, 16 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Well other global areas are a thing @LuzandAnneFTW btw your blocking local admin has discord if you can find them on that platform if you have it. I am not going to bloat this topic and only leave one comment here as a tip for you as I was already warned by Notarkham to not get into unrelated topics. TheFunny339YoshiPlushGuy (talk) 19:52, 16 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Per the advice of others, this is a matter to take up with local administrators, not stewards. The suggested avenues of their talk pages on Meta or via the local wiki's discord if one exists are appropriate. Closing as not done. --NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 22:24, 16 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Leerdoman74 is back[edit | edit source]

Status:  Action taken

Hi. I'm not sure if this is the appropriate noticeboard for stuff like this, but does anybody remember Leerdoman74? That user who sent personal attacks to users like DarkMatterMan4500, AkihitoZero5454, and MarioMario456 just because they corrected him on his opinionated logic and he also used sockpuppets to evade his ban years ago? Last year, he came back to this site and he's still continuing to evade his bans by going to Weirdcyclopedia to use IP accounts to angrily insult me like he's done to me and various other users who confronted him in the past:

And now recently he's just returned once again to my wiki to not only continue his ban evasion he's been doing for years, but also start edit wars and play the victim by accusing me of "harassing him" even though in all actuality, he's the one who started the whole harassment. Plus, Leerdo even got one of my dear friends frustrated because of the edit wars Leerdo himself started on one of my friends' pages, which made me really sad:

Can any Steward do something to globally lock Leerdoman's IP accounts so that he may finally give up his long-term abuse because of his long history of ban evasion and bullying? SuperStreetKombat (talk) 07:06, 20 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

We don't 'lock ip accounts' technically speaking.
I used a more effective local block for the ipv6 and am prepared to go global if the need arises, but one-off like this doesn't quite meet the bar to go global yet imo. If it extends beyond the local blocks, turns into actual account creation or he digs up more IPs to utilize then I will more likely throw the book at him. Tbh any block of this nature probably isn't going to get him to 'finally give up' if it's been this long but we'll show him the door if the dribble continues. --raidarr (💬) 08:50, 20 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Not seeing the evidence to proceed with a global lock, aside from advising a locked account/regular MAA on how to proceed. Can you give further context? --NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 06:29, 4 June 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
  1. This account is presumed to be LTA:AIHI, a long-term vandal on Japanese Wikipedia and Miraheze.
  2. AIHI, in Miraheze, “スタイル修正!” in the summary field. (“style fix!”) in the summary field, mh:qanda:Special:Contributions/アイヒマン神社 and mh:mypedia:Special:Contributions/チピチピチャパチャパ are easy to understand. The same is true for this account.
  3. The account name “日本レストランエンタプライズ” (Nihon resutoran entapuraizu) is an imitation of jawiki's other LTA w:ja:LTA:NRE account name.
  4. So far I have talked about LTA, but the account itself is also trying to get Html123456 to expose his own password. (See User talk:Html123456 history)

Permissions[edit | edit source]

Administrator/Bureaucrat access[edit | edit source]

Instructions/Read before making a request

Use this section to request Stewards grant you administrator or bureaucrat rights on a wiki without any active bureaucrats (or unwilling bureaucrats if they refuse to certify a successful vote) following a local election. We normally don't grant permissions without a local election for advanced rights like this so you'll need to make a local election unless you accidentally demoted yourself.

If you accidentally removed your own permissions, you can also use this section to request re-addition.

To make a request, press "edit" next to the "Administrator/Bureaucrat access" section header, copy the following code and place it at the very bottom of this section. Replace every section as needed:

=== Username@<subdomain>wiki ===
{{Permission request
 |status    = <!-- Do not remove this! -->
 |wiki      = <!-- Replace with subdomain of wiki -->
 |user name = <!-- Replace with username -->
 |discussion= <!-- Replace with link to discussion, if any -->
Include any comments here ~~~~

Speckswiththejunior@kugelnio2wiki[edit | edit source]

So, there's a wiki that isn't considered inactive because it keeps getting vandalized, and the only admin has left Miraheze and left the community this wiki is supposed to be about. I want to moderate it to remove the vandalism and try to bring it back, add more stuff. The only other people who could be in a election are the vandalizers that could ruin it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Speckswiththejunior (talkcontribs) 13:46, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Speckswiththejunior: If an election is attempted in good faith and is vandalized, Stewards may be brought in to eliminate the vandals and let the election proceed normally. Otherwise it would be best to try and deal with the troublemakers if they appear. --raidarr (💬) 00:05, 10 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Side note, comments like "Get the fuck out of the wiki, you immature kid." even to vandals is highly frowned upon, having given the wiki a cursory glance. --raidarr (💬) 00:06, 10 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
On hold, wiki is under investigation for content policy violations, including fork of existing wiki not approved by stewards that may result in shutdown. --NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 21:51, 12 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
This one isn't a fork of an already existing wiki, was created after kugelnio2, and he only created it so he can get permissions on the wiki, which is not even evident for a wiki creation, considering you can just use steward requests because the admins are inactive Bicyclic (talk) 12:26, 21 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Are you actually really sure?? What are the violations that any admins did?? They were just being inactive. Plus, the "fork" is, which only started existing in I think either March or early April this year. This one,, has evidence of existing at least before December 2023. Steward requests/Archive 2 Wiki
So, we can say, that existed before
The wiki, has violations done by actual admins like including minor's ages and countries without permission from them or their legal guardians. The only active admin is also putting his rules to say that no bad grammar and spelling is allowed, while having the sentences to be filled with grammar and spelling mistakes. He is banning people he doesn't like for doing things outside of the wiki, who don't even break any rules. He's also a Peruvian that barely even knows English grammar and spelling, he's a guy who has no idea on how to even run or moderate a wiki. He just created a new wiki to get power over people and ban whoever he wants for no reason. LittlePerson10 (talk) 17:30, 21 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Person16384@bfdiwiki[edit | edit source]

Hello. I found out there was a wiki for Battle For Dream Island a few months earlier. However, the only administrator on the wiki has been inactive since November 2023, and the wiki is currently severely disorganized with almost no templates present. If BFDI was not a popular fandom, the wiki would have most likely been closed, again due to the lack of organization. I was wondering if it was possible for you to give me administrator and bureaucrat for the BFDI wiki on Miraheze, as I would like it to flourish much more than it currently is. Person16384 (talk) 15:39, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Person16384: In order to take command on the wiki, a local election must be filed per the linked page. After 5-7 days the conclusion can be brought here and this request can proceed on the Steward end; otherwise Stewards generally do not just give rights on request even with rationale such as this unless the process is done. --raidarr (💬) 00:01, 10 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Raidarr: Okay, I have started a local election on the wiki here. Let me know if I also need to do something else in order to make the election valid. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Person16384 (talkcontribs) 02:25, 11 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Person16384: great! in 5-7 days feel free to stop by and Stewards can take a look & finalize. The 'onhold' mark can be taken off then as well. --raidarr (💬) 11:28, 11 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Raidarr: Okay, so I have waited for around 6 days, and here are the results for the election. Person16384 (talk) 12:36, 17 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Nexovia@olympicswiki[edit | edit source]

Hello It's me Nexovia I am working on the Olympics Wiki but it's founder and the whole community is inactive so I have the Sysop rights but I couldn't perform all actions needed so could you provide me the crat rights and I have tried conducting local elections but the community is also inactive so could I get the rights.Nexovia (talk) 09:43, 11 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Nexovia: the election should proceed for 5-7 days and I would recommend you do the following to spruce it up:
  • Add a signature to your request so it is clear who you are if someone such as the founder takes a peek
  • Give your request a title so it has a clear section, and a discussion subsection for anyone if they do appear to leave feedback
After that period please come back and let us know: you can remove the 'onhold' piece of the status then. --raidarr (💬) 11:14, 11 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

São tome@polandballfr[edit | edit source]

Hello! I want to be a bureaucrat for this wiki so I can expand it and make it at the level of other Polandball wikis in other languages. You see, I see a great opportunity in this wiki, since it could make several French-speaking users learn about the Polandball community and in turn contribute to the wiki. One of my biggest contributions was creating an Infobox for most of the articles on the wiki.

The wiki for now does not have many active users, it only has 2 Spanish-speaking users that I invited to contribute by creating articles, so I need a requirement to be a bureaucrat, but I think this is optional when wanting to be a bureaucrat of a wiki with few taxpayers. That would be all from me, I hope you can read this and accept me as a bureaucrat of this wiki São tome (talk) 22:28, 14 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi São tome. If you wish to gain crat rights on/adopt a wiki with no active crats to contact, please see the Local Elections page. ╚pixDeVl╝ (Talk Contributions CentralAuth) 01:32, 15 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Nexovia@royaltywiki[edit | edit source]

The Royalpedia is a Wiki for monarchy related problems and I also work on same monarchy related Wiki named BritishRoyals and seen it the Bureacrat and Sysops are inactive there I decided to conduct and local election but there was no active community there are two peoples much active and still contribute but I think they are not interested in the post I had nominated one of them cause they were more active than me but they took no interest so I couldn't do anything and the main founder and sysop both are inactive since years so I would request the either Bureacrat or Admin rights cause these rights are needed to make wikis more better so I am requesting the rights here. --Nexovia (talk) 05:53, 21 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Nexovia:, why is the closed template used to indicate 'in progress' for an election that was just posted today to become bureaucrat? You requested interface admin there, changed it to bureaucrat then basically closed it, but are asking for 'either Bureaucrat or Admin' here also today. This is an unusual use of the local election process; at least, a request for the rights you want should individually go for 5-7 days and only be closed once reviewed by a local bureaucrat or in this case a Steward.
Noting also that this wiki should come under review: a cursory look at recent changes indicates copy pasted content from Wikipedia. I didn't look thoroughly but this seems to be the core of PennState2023!'s editing there. --raidarr (💬) 12:21, 21 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
So at all what should I do now what is the way? Nexovia (talk) 13:10, 21 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

On hold To begin with, you will need to contact the bureaucrat. Let us know if you do not receive a reply, we will post your election notice in Sitenotice.

About pages copied from Wikipedia: I will investigate later. --1108-Kiju/Talk 03:16, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

As told I have messaged the Bureaucrat of the Wiki and I haven't received any reply from it so can it be published. Nexovia (talk) 13:39, 26 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
At a glance basically every page is either lazily rewritten or straight up stolen content from Wikipedia. For this reason Stewards will discuss if the wiki will even continue to be in operation, then get back to election if yes. --raidarr (💬) 09:23, 3 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

With apologies for the delay and regardless of the content problem, the 5-7 day period can now begin. Keep in mind that no votes = unsuccessful, because there is a local community which can give its opinion and apathy is not agreement. There should be support among the editing base for you to get advanced rights. If successful, something that will be expected is effort to clean up the content which has been just ripped off Wikipedia without attribution. Tackling this problem now could improve your election chances. --raidarr (💬) 00:19, 4 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

There has been no change/interaction with the election over an extended period; it is consequentially  unsuccessful from a Steward perspective. --raidarr (💬) 19:22, 15 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

183231bcb@rainversewiki[edit | edit source]

The Rainverse Wiki was forked from Fandom on March 8 of this year. The person who created the fork, AwesomeGamerX, has made a total of 1 edit , in which he renamed the main page. During the first two weeks he made several changes to the ManageWiki settings that were requested of him via Discord DM, but he has stopped doing so. His most recent action, on April 8, was to make me an admin. He did not comment on his reasons for doing so. He has not responded to my Discord DMs asking him to make either me or another editor a bureacrat, despite still being active on Discord.

There are three active editors: Me, AvgHelper, and BlankEclair. All three of us want there to be an active bureacrat to enable extensions we need, create new namespaces (we want a namespace for each comic series), and add interwiki prefixes. Five days ago (either April 17 or April 18 depending on your time zone) I created a local election to elect a new bureacrat. The election was advertised widely as possible, including on the main page, the official Rainverse Discord server, and the Rainverse Wiki fediverse account (which I boosted with my main fediverse account, since that has a lot more followers). Despite the publicity effort, AwesomeGamerX did not comment on the election, either publicly or via Discord DM.

All active editors voted, and the unanimous opinion is to elevate all three active editors to bureacrat status. I am therefore requesting that the stewards make all three of us bureacrats, or at least make one of us a bureacrat so we can promote the other two people.

Thanks 183231bcb (talk) 23:56, 22 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I would like to also add that he has still not responded to questions that I have raised on his talk page three and a half weeks ago. - BlankEclair (talk) 06:02, 23 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The vote was among interested parties, but since only you are community members, there is no reason to reject it. This is  Done --1108-Kiju/Talk 03:34, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Jazzedpineda@genericcookinggamewiki[edit | edit source]

The wiki founder and only bureaucrat, AltandeseCreator, has been inactive for a little over 100 days. A local election is not suitable because I (Jazzedpineda) and AltandeseCreator are the only users (not including stewards, "Abuse filter", and "MediaWiki default"). I am requesting bureaucrat rights because I am currently in the process of moving the Generic Cooking Game Wiki from Fandom to Miraheze. Jazzedpineda (talk) 02:16, 24 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

You are not a member of the wiki and therefore cannot accept this. --1108-Kiju/Talk 03:37, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The Generic Cooking Game Wiki was last edited by some IP users who made nonsensical articles. Most of the edits were made by AltandeseCreator. It has two articles: "Croissant" and "Office", the latter of which has nonsensical content. I am not planning to make edits there right now because the first thing I want to do with the wiki is to import a database dump from the corresponding Fandom wiki. Jazzedpineda (talk) 05:05, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Is there a relationship between the Fandom wiki and genericcookinggamewiki? Importing data into a wiki created by someone else is not acceptable. 1108-Kiju/Talk 23:40, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The only bureaucrat of the Fandom wiki has been inactive for 9 months, and I can no longer contact him/her because his/her Discord account got deleted. Therefore, I cannot become an administrator of the Fandom wiki. This is one of many reasons why we, the Generic Cooking Game community, chose to move to Miraheze. I got approval from some Fandom wiki administrators and the game's creator to start the migration process. Jazzedpineda (talk) 05:06, 26 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Oh, the community decided to make transition, I didn't know that. Could you link to that page? 1108-Kiju/Talk 03:11, 27 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The conversation about moving the Generic Cooking Game Wiki to Miraheze happened on Discord. Here is the conversation: Jazzedpineda (talk) 09:19, 27 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Also, The Fandom wiki has an interactive map for the game's restuarant. Miraheze doesn't have an extension that can make Fandom-style interactive maps, but ImageMap exists. This is why I converted this request into a request for bureaucrat rights, because I want access to ManageWiki and enable the ImageMap extension. Don't worry because once I have bureaucrat rights, I can make myself an administrator. Jazzedpineda (talk) 02:41, 29 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Jazzedpineda: apologies for the delayed response; I don't like to be bureaucratic but unfortunately we cannot base on screenshots of a non-public discord server, and so ask that a local election be used to establish local authority even if the outcome is low participation. --raidarr (💬) 19:25, 15 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Silicona@androidwiki[edit | edit source]

I have created this local election for bureaucrat rights on Android Wiki, see this link above. --Silicona (talk) 19:47, 28 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Local bureaucrat was active two weeks ago, please contact them first. If they do not respond, Stewards will conduct necessary process for the election. --1108-Kiju/Talk 23:23, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I contacted 3 days ago, but the bureaucrat did not respond. See mh:android:User talk:PretzelBubbleTea. Silicona (talk) 06:43, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
You did not make a specific request, please tell them directly that you are requesting a crat. --1108-Kiju/Talk 06:56, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I told the local bureaucrat about local election. I'll wait and see. Silicona (talk) 07:22, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
After 3 days? You could give the guy a few days more? The poor fellow might be in Hospital, Vacation, etc. No need to be impatient. Give him 14 days or so.  Kind regards,   Rodejong   💬 Talk ✉️ Email  📝 Edits   Auth →  09:13, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Per local election policy, 5-7 days is enough. I have to wait 2-4 days. Silicona (talk) 09:53, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
14 days, that's what you react on. But 3 days you totally ignore? The crat has been away for only 14 days. There sometimes goes a month before I check my emails. So he might not even be aware.  Kind regards,   Rodejong   💬 Talk ✉️ Email  📝 Edits   Auth →  10:24, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
5-7 days may be technically enough but activity within the month will be a determining factor and these various attempts to gather permissions on wikis are also noted; you have already acquired bureaucrat on a whopping 6 still living wikis some of which are fading off. Infoboxes seem like something that require no elevated permissions to deal with unless you want certain extensions enabled, theming could initially be trialed in userspace, and the homepage appears to be unprotected, so the reasoning for the request is a touch sparse. The local election page recommends a bare minimum: practice accounts for the entire circumstance. At the very least I doubt this will be closed favorably with no consensus on the minimum date. --raidarr (💬) 11:46, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@PretzelBubbleTea is active again. Silicona (talk) 12:27, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Oh that is nice. Then this can be closed, and you won't mind revoking the election then I guess :)  Kind regards,   Rodejong   💬 Talk ✉️ Email  📝 Edits   Auth →  12:43, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Per the above exchange I will mark this as  Not done due to existing bureaucrat activity recently. --raidarr (💬) 22:23, 4 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

DualPlay1@ballmediawiki[edit | edit source]

AgentIsai (former steward of Miraheze) and SchizoACC are a bureaucrats that aren't active now on Ballmedia. AgentIsai as you know left the Miraheze and i don't have a contact with SchizoACC. We did a local election in a private discord group. Although someone else will try to take over who wasn't very active in Ballmedia (less edits than me). I think that Ballmedia is very strategic point for -ball wikis that require care. Although I think that another steward should also look after Ballmedia, as was the case before. DualPlay1 (talk) 17:38, 2 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Marking this as  Not done for now; in order to figure this out I have resumed my role as Consul on Ballmedia (the last one, hadn't even realized I had it still until recently) and will be using that to try and guide reform including both you and perhaps Kymi should there be participation from that end as well. What comes of it will have to be determined locally and through existing channels, as we've been doing recently already. Note that a private discord vote does not suffice for stewards to assign rights on wikis. --raidarr (💬) 22:20, 4 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Could you elaborate on why that is required? 1108-Kiju/Talk 13:27, 24 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I need if someone with my IP address to log into Miraheze and vandalize a page. Since the IP address is blocked I can't edit. And neither can do an appeal. That's why. Harommel (talk) 13:37, 24 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Is it due to a global block? Global blocks are basically anonymous-only and can be edited only if you are login. 1108-Kiju/Talk 03:42, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Some (Miraheze hosted) wikis aren't like this, if there's an IP block with my IP address, logging in doesn't bypass the IP block. By being in the global IP exception group, i can make sure i can still edit even when an IP block happens with my IP address (or ranging from mine, and also near mine). FjattarRefreshment@mockupediawiki[edit | edit source]

FjattarRefreshment is an admin on Mockupedia, but he vandalized my userpage for no reason (if my userpage looks not vandalized, thats mean I had revert that, see the page logs please for evidences). I had to revert that but he reverted it again, causing reverting war between I and FjattarRefreshment. The userpage should be written by user itself tho. I'm also an admin on Mockupedia and i tired to revert it back again. So the wiki need to remove FjattarRefreshment from administrator, but the only bureaucrat, Vladislav Fesko is inactive enough to do that. Also he even delete my bureaucrat local election on Mockupedia talk:Community Portal.

HoloCraft (talk) 11:03, 28 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

(Non-steward comment) As an additional note of conduct, The portal (mockupedia:Mockupedia_talk:Community_portal, case sensitive) was also deleted entirely back in Nov 23, and renamed to 'Poor protesters' objects'. I am not familiar with Steward polices on local permission revocation and will not pretend to be, I just include this for clarification and ease of finding the typo linked page(although I don't in any way think it would be incorrect to say this is in no way conduct becoming of a local sysop, I leave all judgments of the matter to Stewards). ╚pixDeVl╝ (Talk Contributions CentralAuth) 12:15, 28 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
This is a case that has been bounced on the SR for some time and the issues reported during the 'dark age' continue to be taking place. Stewards know where to find me if they'd like further background on this long-running mess. Imo the key here is the local election being subverted which ensures no transfer of power to a more pro/active top management can take place. If Fjattar is not cooperative upon intervention to ensure an election can take place then a sysop removal is probably warranted. Attempts have been made to contact the bureaucrat who just doesn't seem to care, ever. --raidarr (💬) 12:28, 28 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Btw, the user TLE940mrhz is also an admin and not a sockpuppet of FjattarRefreshment, but he involve of defending FjattarRefreshment, which is also responsible for the local election attacks on mockupedia, so consider to demote him too. User:HoloCraft: Perhaps decide that using a user page from is a better way, and delete it on your local wiki? Then the problem is solved. Your user page will be shown on all the wiki's you visit.
Now I agree that a user page is private space, and others shouldn't interfere with it. But if there is no agreement, then perhaps taking it outside of the wiki is the way to go forward.
Think about that. A steward would delete it from your local wiki, and that would be the final word.
You can request that on this page as well (I think)  Kind regards,   Rodejong   💬 Talk ✉️ Email  📝 Edits   Auth →  15:09, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Dormancy Policy Exemption Request (Cholecalciferol)[edit | edit source]

Status:  Not done

I would like to make a Dormancy Policy Exemption Request for the wiki Cholecalciferol.

While I will keep updating the wiki the data that is collected there is valuable for future readers and researchers. I also refer people to the resource as required. The pace of updates has slowed down but may pick up again if other parts of the project get reactivated. Should I loose access to it I would be distressed if all the hard work were to evaporate.

The basis for the request is

  • Wikis made to be read, where a lot of information is already on wiki and doesn't need to be actively edited.

The bulk of the data is collected on the medical research page DOI and on my personal biography page Bio

Thank you KalleMP (talk) 21:12, 24 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Current body of content does not qualify for a dormancy exemption, but I am happy to report that our Dormancy Policy will soon be amended to extend the minimum time between start of inactivity and a wiki being eligible for deletion to a full year. I hope this will meet your needs once implemented . --NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 23:18, 5 March 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The expected changes to extend the time make the situation less onerous but does not resolve the problem of preserving access to knowledge if I should happen to no longer be able to maintain it.
Please indicate where I can examine what is required for a body of content to qualify to see if I am able to comply.
KalleMP (talk) 12:30, 11 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@KalleMP: apologies for the delay in response, I'll try to give some guidance on this. Ultimately it comes down to Steward discretion based on the guidelines as listed here, leaning stricter depending if the potential coverage is broader or if the wiki's content is simply very slim in the first place. The initial concern was likely due to the very low volume of pages; we hope for say, a dozen significant pages as a practice among stewards as a minimum if the content otherwise fits the conditions (a conditional guideline based on policy's "where a lot of information is already on wiki"). I can appreciate that the linked pages are very long and could reasonably count as multiple by this assessment, if say only a half dozen more pages of reasonable substance can be produced in good time due to the sheer mass of the ones you've linked.
This is balanced with the nature of how Dormancy Policy is applied and if reasonable updates can be done in its span, ie, if you are able to make monthly or even bimonthly updates, dormancy will never be a concern because it's two months to get any flag and another two months before that flag restricts editing (at which point the bureaucrat will be notified automatically by email). Exceptions are not granted if the basis critically depends on possible absence (the 'writer hit by a bus' problem).
Feel free to pursue further if, based on this explanation, you still can offer rationale why an exemption is warranted based on the above, be it basing on the existing body of content being a bit more than initially described or arguing a seasonal nature of updates meaning you can't necessarily check in often enough for the dormancy script to be thwarted. If you get irregular editors already and/or the wiki is known to a dedicated audience of the kinds of readers it is out for, those editors could sustain the content indefinitely as I've seen happen for some wikis despite them totally lacking committed management. --raidarr (💬) 18:59, 15 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Cute Fame Wiki[edit | edit source]

Status:  Cannot be undertaken
  • Reason(s): The auto archive feature comes into effect too often. While the wiki is meant to have no new content or information on it until the next game (relating to the wiki) releases, And can be documented here. CuteFame (talk) 17:29, 5 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
If you're referring to our dormancy policy, this wiki unfortunately does not qualify for such an exemption given the limited body of work currently hosted. However, our Dormancy Policy has recently changed to be substantially more generous, only triggering an inactivity notice after 2 months, closure notice at 4 months, and deletion eligibility only after a full year of no edits. We hope this better-meets your needs given the infrequent need for editing. --NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 16:13, 7 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
This, Does not. Is there anything else I can do to qualify? CuteFame (talk) 15:10, 24 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@CuteFame: apologies for the delay in response - much of my answer from the above section applies here, you may find it useful; I would otherwise add that it would help if the main page was more structure-complete (for what it is) and if more of the placeholder sections, links were at least given a feasible skeleton to fill out when more content becomes available, as the current condition of the wiki is simply quite incomplete at a glance and that does not generally elicit confidence to issue a borderline exemption. A small, but reasonably polished project may qualify under this basis, while the wiki in this case seems to need more setup. --raidarr (💬) 19:03, 15 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Is there anyway I may hire someone to help me flesh out a page? 🤔, I didn't wanna have to be backed up on managing setup where it's undeeded yet. CuteFame (talk) 19:08, 15 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Not done, I see activity from admins/crats within the last month, please reach out to them on-wiki. Users are strongly encouraged to hold a Local Election and elect an active crat/admin if none remain available. --NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 22:56, 20 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Restore DP exemption to, and re-close wiki[edit | edit source]

Status:  Done
Closure traditionally sets off the timeline to deletion and is an unusual thing to mix with a DP exemption, indeed, the closure description by default is incompatible with DPE. Is the desire for the wiki to remain read-only as an archive? If so perhaps a custom configuration should be considered rather than the gnarly closure message, assuming the wiki is content complete. I'm also not sure it would be fair to retain a permanent DPE and/or restrict from editing when the only basis for closure was a personal lack of time or interest anymore. If it was a personal project that's one thing, but for a wider property it seems unfair. Would it be at all possible to check in from time to time or even solicit cvt to take a look once in a while, and the wiki either naturally expire from there or be picked up by a willing editor? --raidarr (💬) 09:24, 20 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I was uninvolved with the closure but I believe the archive-only route is the way that Yuzrnaime took.
Not sure if the latter action would be viable. I've decided to disasociate myself with the wiki, and Yuzr did the same. If so, the closure scenario is most likely, but IDK if that's what Yuzrnaime would want. --Zeus, aka Blad (tcg) 20:35, 20 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I was involved in the originally suggested path forward. The wiki is content complete but at high risk of vandalism, so closure was suggested as a method to lock content. @Zeus and @Yuzrnaime, since closure clearly represents a problem with risk of deletion, would removal of edit/upload rights be sufficient to meet goal of preserving content? --NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 22:44, 20 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I believe so. --Zeus, aka Blad (tcg) 23:01, 20 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thanks! Not sure if this is within my (or your) jurisdiction, but is it also possible to blank or redirect the sitenotice to this blog? It might be misleading to display "This wiki is leaving lockdown!", but the wiki itsef is locked. --Zeus, aka Blad (tcg) 01:53, 22 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

  • Reason(s): Needed for Scribunto to work properly
Scribunto's function (allowing for scripting language support in MediaWiki) should not be dependent on Semantic MediaWiki to work; this sounds like a bug that should be reported on Wikimedia Phabricator (Miraheze does not maintain the extension). Tali64³ (talk | contributions) 16:22, 14 May 2024 (UTC) Disregard; it appears that Scribunto is enabled globally, which means that it is already enabled on the wiki in question and thus not available in the MW interface. Looking at the ManageWiki configuration of the wiki, however, Semantic Scribunto (a variety of Scribunto) does require Semantic MediaWiki in order to be enabled. The Backrooms Wiki[edit | edit source]

Status:  Done
  • Reason(s): The wiki is largely a personal project for me. While it has seen work from other editors, a large portion of the wiki's pages are made by me. I have devoted over a year of editing almost every other day and it would be devastating if this content was lost. The wiki is also read by many people, yet it does not have many active editors. Sheep42 (talk) 22:53, 15 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thanks for bearing with the delayed response, my concern with granting a dormancy exception is that we've seen a trend of backrooms wiki projects ended in one of two ways:
  • As abandoned and untended targets for ongoing vandalism
  • The community breaks apart from toxicity/infighting and the project gets deleted or abandoned, leading to point 1 above
As you say yourself, this has become somewhat of a solo effort in recent days. In the case that you decide to move on from this project, can you speak to what controls you'd put in place (e.g. restricting edit/move/delete permissions, moderation extension) to avoid vandalism?
--NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 16:08, 27 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
If I ever move on from this project or go on hiatus, I'll lock it so that only I can edit it (and maybe a few other people who I trust). Sheep42 (talk) 00:12, 29 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Despite reservations, approved with the understanding that the project may be forced into non-editable/closed state if a determination of abandonment without edit restrictions (or substantial deviation from content policy) should happen in the future. --NotAracham (talkcontribsglobal) 04:37, 31 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

ReplaceText is sadly incompatible with revision compression, which is currently enabled globally to ensure we can provide a performant product. (Non-steward comment) The extension (called Previews in ManageWiki for some reason) does not appear to be a restricted setting, but rather it requires the extensions "PageImages" and "TextExtracts" to be already enabled. The latter already is enabled, and the former is also not a restricted setting. BlankEclair (talk) 00:52, 24 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

ReplaceText was removed due to incompatibility with revision compression (which Miraheze uses to save space); the closest alternative available is MassEditRegex, which requires knowledge of regex in order to use. Tali64³ (talk | contributions) 21:56, 26 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

  • Reason(s): For my Wiki, which is a collection of references for programming libraries and applications, I need a way to structurally represent entities of said tools. There is a sense of repition when it comes to definitions and links to parts of source code, and due to that it can be easily forgotten to change multiple sources appropriately, a central storage location would help greatly with this. As an example,a function of a library might have different properties, to what it belongs, what it does, what it is categorised as and so on, there is multiple different instance of these cases and there might be multiple pages that represent any of these data sets differently based on the page's purpose. --Elanda (talk) 15:51, 29 May 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
