Vandal[edit | edit source]

There's a user called "MrPissShitHead Did Nothing wrong just like Hitler" vandalizing. Please lock his/her account ASAP. --Seewater514 (talk)

Now there's another user called "IHateIAmEiji" vandalizing. Please also lock his/her account ASAP. --Seewater514 (talk)

Now there's a third vandal called "IHateShitters (Rev 1)". Please lock that user's account as well. --Seewater514 (talk)

Vandalism on 리센티아 위키[edit | edit source]

리센티아 위키 was recently vandalized by some users and the administrator on there is inactive.

As there are no active administrators on that wiki, I think these should be handled by stewards. Thank you. - P1av0rSe01Complaint? 08:14, 5 February 2020 (UTC)

@PlavorSeol: Yes check.svg Dealt. Could you tell me if this Japanese vandal on Wikipedia is known in Korean wiki communities? I suspect that this might be done by someone pretending to be a Korean. - 開拓者 (The Pioneer) (talk/contribs | global🌎) 15:51, 5 February 2020 (UTC)
Such type of vandalism is known in some wiki-related communities and some trolls vandalize wikis in that type, but not often.
By the way, another vandal that uses same type appeared on that wiki. See the section below. - PlavorSeol (T | C) 09:21, 11 February 2020 (UTC)

I cannot make a topic on the discussion and my old account is broken[edit | edit source]

If you could help me, i need help trying to make a discussion back at Atrocious YouTubers Wiki. Also, my other account (which i tried renaming) won´t work when i try to login, when i try to log in, it says its either in the process of being named or its being transformed, however, it is not in the process of being named as it is already done being transformed to the new name, if you could please get rid of this problem, i would be grateful.

- User:MelanieMartinezIsMyLife on 5 February 2020, at 19:36 (UTC)

I've already pinged Reception123 about the issue, but it looks like it remains unsolved. I've created a phab ticket for this issue.--開拓者 (The Pioneer) (talk/contribs | global🌎) 14:23, 10 February 2020 (UTC)

Please help set up the wiki[edit | edit source]

I wanted to ask for help. I need to add protection levels (bureaucrat, consul) for my wiki. How can I do that?Q-bit (talk) 13:45, 10 February 2020 (UTC)

You can set it from Special:ManageWiki/namespaces by allowing users with specific rights to edit the namespaces, or use the AbuseFilter to block edits of admins on targeted pages.--開拓者 (The Pioneer) (talk/contribs | global🌎) 14:29, 10 February 2020 (UTC)

@開拓者: Okay, but how do I make sure that the page can be protected? Where we click on the right (Protection>edit admins only). Q-bit (talk) 10:32, 11 February 2020 (UTC)

I don't think there's a way for this, which is why I recommend you use the abusefilter as an alternative.--開拓者 (The Pioneer) (talk/contribs | global🌎) 13:14, 11 February 2020 (UTC)

@開拓者: Well. If you can help me set up the filter, I don't know much about them. The wiki site.

Global block request for 119.201.63.0/24[edit | edit source]

This user vandalized 리센티아 위키 just as vandals related to the section above did. It is clear that it is a sockpuppet of them, and since 119.201.63.75 was globally blocked before, please globally block 119.201.63.0/24 at this time. - PlavorSeol (T | C) 09:21, 11 February 2020 (UTC)

Yes check.svg Done--開拓者 (The Pioneer) (talk/contribs | global🌎) 13:25, 11 February 2020 (UTC)

Pages Have "Too Many Edits" To Be Deleted?[edit | edit source]

The staff on All The Tropes have run into a small number of pages which, when we try to delete them, result in the following error message:

You do not have permission to delete this page, for the following reason:
This page has a large edit history, over 250 revisions. Deletion of such pages has been restricted to prevent accidental disruption of All The Tropes.

None of the ATT admins recalls implementing such a restriction, and we don't know where this restriction would be. Can someone please clue us in on where it is and who can change it? Failing that, are these pages something the stewards can delete for us, or is there an issue here that requires a Phabricator ticket? Thank you. --Looney Toons (talk) 22:48, 15 February 2020 (UTC)

@Looney Toons: mw:Manual:$wgDeleteRevisionsLimit, https://github.com/miraheze/mw-config/blob/master/LocalSettings.php#L440-L442 - PlavorSeol (T | C) 07:00, 16 February 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for the research! But this suggests it will require Phabricator to undo.
PS - I don't like this restriction, especially as the default. Admins can undelete any page they delete in error. If deletion is "disruptive," then your problem is not with deletion but with your Admins! Spıke (talk)11:48 16-Feb-2020
This isn’t a social issue, rather a technical issue caused implementation. Stewards are able to delete these pages on request. A Phabricator ticket isn’t necessary. John (talk) 13:14, 16 February 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for the information. Should we wait for the fallout from this weekend's attempted changes and subsequent rollback to settle before making such a request? Also, I've been informed that we have a number of images that are similarly resistant to deletion, reporting errors like this ones:

Error deleting file: Rayman small 3678.jpg
Error deleting file: An unknown error occurred in storage backend "local-backend".

Should I include these in the deletion request, or would this be a Phabricator-level issue?
Thank you. --Looney Toons (talk) 20:39, 16 February 2020 (UTC)

Help. I need desperate help[edit | edit source]

On Amazing YouTubers Wiki, I gave a user named Landscape the confirmed user right so that he can edit. Somehow, he managed to give himself the bureaucrat role and took away all of our adminships so now we can't stop him. Please block him right away and fix the wiki. PLEASE! It's for our own good.

Thank u, next, Eiji (talk) 19:02, 16 February 2020 (UTC)

I’ve paged people to help. ~ RhinosF1 - (chat)· acc· c - (     offline) 19:04, 16 February 2020 (UTC)
Void should be looking into it. Just to note, the user was able to do that because of the action taken by you at 19:58, 4 December 2019 when you allowed confirmed users to add administrators and bureaucrats via ManageWiki/permissions. Reception123 (talk) (C) 19:08, 16 February 2020 (UTC)

https://wiki.arcolinuxclub.org/ does not work as expeced[edit | edit source]

This subdomain has a CNAME entry to mw-lb.miraheze.org but my browser lands at your Mainpage and not at https://arcolinuxclub.miraheze.org/wiki/Main_Page. What might be the reason? Please assist. --Peter Littmann (talk) 11:45, 17 February 2020 (UTC)

Please replace endeavouros.de by archlinuxfamly.de[edit | edit source]

I registered the domain endeavouros.de but the people there were not happy with this decision. So I registered the domain archlinuxfamily.de and also the .org. Would you please be so kindly and connect them to the subdomain https://endeavourosde.miraheze.org resp. rename the subdomain? --Peter Littmann (talk) 13:12, 17 February 2020 (UTC)

Math error[edit | edit source]

Hi there,I would like advice on the following errors.Entering \relax will cause an error.please see [1].On other wikis, it looks like there are no errors.please see [2].Thank you.-- (talk) 14:24, 17 February 2020 (UTC)

Hi there, since the code is difficult to see, we will present the link again. Please see [3].Also, meta does not seem to have such an error.(e.g.<math>\relax</math>).Sorry I forgot to write this, but the wiki where this error is occurring is '数の神秘1729'.Thank you.-- (talk) 00:05, 21 February 2020 (UTC)

Trolls[edit | edit source]

There's these four users who are acting like trolls, their names are "The Blue Creeper", "The Red Creeper", "Monkeypartner" and "SonicClub 2". Please lock their accounts when one of you guys have the chance. --Seewater514 (talk) 04:26, 18 February 2020 (UTC)

Global Block Request For The Red Creeper[edit | edit source]

This troll was vandalizing pages on Great Characters Wiki. They also appear to have sock puppet accounts such as The Blue Creeper. --Agent Mace (talk)

@Agent Mace: The user has been globally locked for vandalism-only account use. Zppix (Meta | CVT Member | talk to me) 15:02, 18 February 2020 (UTC)

Closing horriblemusicandsongs.miraheze.org[edit | edit source]

So i wanted to adopt the wiki, but it wasn't eligable because it wasn't closed. So i'm asking to be closed because the only bureaucrat/admin doesn't have any contributions and for adoption. --Hendicted (talk) 14:48, 18 February 2020 (UTC)

A suspected sock[edit | edit source]

There's a user named PokkenFan2002 that I blocked on Atrocious YouTubers Wiki. He's likely a sockpuppet of a user known as Gucci Rsbbit, who was globally locked about a month ago. Could you check the IP addresses to see if I'm right or wrong?

Thank u, next, Eiji (talk) 15:38, 19 February 2020 (UTC)

Aww shit, he's now trying to create a rip-off of Atrocious YouTubers Wiki called "Atrocious YouTubers Wiki Uncut".

Thank u, next, Eiji (talk) 15:41, 19 February 2020 (UTC)

Oddly enough, he doesn't appear to be a Gucci Rsbbit sock. There's still a lot of socking going on, and the accounts have been locked. -- Void Whispers 18:12, 20 February 2020 (UTC)

Spam in SocialProfile Pages[edit | edit source]

We have discovered some two dozen SocialProfile pages on All The Tropes which contain link spam:

User:Lespacenter
User:Apexdspa2020
User:Rohitjoklar123
User:Christinziegler
User:Robinsonsjaco
User:NathanDeMetz
User:Fullbodymassage
User:Flackflores
User:Dylanjoseph
User:Enterasource
User:Myapexdspa
User:Shanejohnson
User:Aoltechsupport21
User:Boxtaircon
User:Stefanwhite
User:Thutrangctp
User:Phamyen
User:Minecraft2
User:Alicetaylor
User:Saikumar
User:Karthik11k
User:Leathercollectionde

We would delete them, but for some reason when we try to use Special:EditProfile to get rid of them, wiki staff now see the message

Permission error

You do not have permission to update other users' social profiles, for the following reason:

You are not allowed to execute the action you have requested.

Only a few months ago we had no restrictions on our access to this tool. What has changed and why? And if the change is permanent, can the stewards please delete these spam pages?

Thank you. -- Looney Toons (talk) 15:30, 20 February 2020 (UTC)

It was actually removed a little over a year ago. I'll take a look at removing the spam shortly. -- Void Whispers 18:15, 20 February 2020 (UTC)
I am mistaken then; I honestly thought I had used it more recently than that. Regardless, thank you. -- Looney Toons (talk) 23:47, 20 February 2020 (UTC)
@Looney Toons: I've stripped the contents from the profiles now, but in doing so I noticed that the original reason that we restricted access to this tool has since been addressed. We should soon be able to allow admins to access Special:EditProfile soon. -- Void Whispers 19:58, 23 February 2020 (UTC)
A bureaucrat should now be able to restore access to the editothersprofiles right as they see fit. -- Void Whispers 20:28, 23 February 2020 (UTC)
Thank you! --Looney Toons (talk) 21:27, 23 February 2020 (UTC)

CheckUser request[edit | edit source]

We have what appears from posting activity a possible sockpuppet on All The Tropes. One of the other admins has already blocked the suspected sockpuppet account, but that can be undone if an error was made. Is User:Hole connected to User:Infinite? --Robkelk (talk) 01:30, 22 February 2020 (UTC)

@Robkelk: sorry for the delay. The two accounts are possibly related, but the technical evidence is rather inconclusive. -- Void Whispers 19:32, 23 February 2020 (UTC)
Thank you. We'll leave things as they are now. --Robkelk (talk) 19:43, 23 February 2020 (UTC)

The Red Creeper is back.[edit | edit source]

The Red Creeper is back as User:Return of The Red Creeper on Awful Movies Wiki, and he's vandalizing, and troll ruffian once again. -- Stephenfisher2001

I've asked someone to take a look at it. The best advice I can give is to to get an admin to revert and block them for now. Please advise users not to respond to them as this may provoke them. See this guide. ~ RhinosF1 - (chat)· acc· c - (     offline) 13:13, 22 February 2020 (UTC)
