WelcomeWiki (Status: Done)

(order of priority)

  • Extension request: allow only email registred users to edit/create WelcomeWiki pages.
  • Enable within article/page search - eg. Twitter is included in https://welcomewiki.miraheze.org/wiki/Https://welcomewiki.miraheze.org/wiki/WelcomeWiki_Kontakt but cannot be found if introduced into the Search bar.
  • Create German, English, Arabic wikis/variants like de. en. ar.welcomewiki.miraheze.org (is this possible?) and central page (ideally welcomewiki.miraheze.org) where you can choose the needed Wiki. (UPDATE) For me it is not important how the link looks like, as long as it is intuitive (how about de- fr- ar- en-welcomewiki.org). However the second part of this request is important: having - on welcomewiki.org - a central page where one can choose the prefered Wiki. How about the other Requests? Thank you in advance! Our policy is that HTTPS is required on any wiki hosted by miraheze and en.wiki.miraheze.org (for example) cannot satisfy this rule. You're encouraged to use mw:Extension:Translate, though.
Extension stored on wiki page is considered not secure as anyone may inject attacking code into the code, and it's not a proper way of extension. — revi 12:56, 11 October 2015 (UTC)

AdminLinks, MU and administrators editing is requested. For backup you can use Special:Export on your wiki but you are not able to backup all of it as that requires sysadmin rights, therefore access to shell, which we do not give to anyone. I will check $wgAllowExternalImages, and work on it.

Wikimedia Commons. Exactly how is allowing sysops to upload by URL going to bring "dangerous" content to Miraheze? Is there a risk to upload a PHP file that way or something? If you're worried about copyright or something I don't see why it matters because users can still upload files. The owner would just ask for it to be deleted so I don't see what's so "dangerous." I'm having trouble adding a new skin to my wiki only. I created a file https://rawdata.miraheze.org/wiki/User:Bulrush/rawdata1.css per some instructions I found. Saved it. Then went to my wiki Preferences, Appearance, and only the standard skins are there, not my new skin/css file.

  1. Did I do something wrong? Or is this a permissions problem?
  2. Do I have to edit a default skin, like vector.css? Will this only affect my wiki?

The reason I ask is I'm not seeing my changes in my wiki page either. I want to do underlines via 'text-decoration:underline' and change the font color via 'color:#becacf' (a bluish gray).

Link to my custom CSS sheet. I'm not sure if everyone can see it. Link to admin page to allow CSS style sheets. Thank you.

@SleepyMode: As I think I tried to tell you before (possibly on GH?), the box things are just html/css done on wiki. Certain extensions could be enabled to assist (I.E.
