Parser functions is already done, it's bundled with MediaWiki. (The done template next to it is currently nested inside of a parser function. As for changing the wiki type.. not sure how that works with the new CreateWiki system. As for the templates, I haven't looked at those two but many require Scribunto. Gen Wiki (Status : Done)

There is no nightly dump, but system administrators can generate full xml dump.on request. Also if you have sufficient knowledge, you can use api and Wikiteam's dumpgenerator.py to generate dump when you want. (I don't suggest running this daily, but running it occationally like once a month or such should be fine.) For internal backup systems I will leave it to sysadmins. — revi 09:56, 20 September 2015 (UTC)
The other day I posted on IRC - https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Backing_up_a_wiki#Without_shell_access_to_the_server - I know I can run backup script but I'd be more inclined to put my trust in you, once I know exactly what are your systems / procedures / backup strategy. I'm thinking about creating other wikis as well but - safety first - I need to be fully confident that some rogue admin in the act of frenzy will not destroy my work. Rawdata (Status: Done)

  • Extension/feature requests 1: Make permissions system so only the created can edit wiki by default, and registered and anon users can only read. However I can add users who want to edit it if I want to. Something similar was requested for Cinema wiki. Actually I'd be fine with that exact change. Just make sure, by default, only the creator of the wiki can edit, and all editors must be registered on Miraheze, and then added as editors by the wiki creator.
  • Reason: Rolling back changes made by malicious users is not enough security and can get tedious very quickly.
  • Feature request 2: Anon edits should always be off by default.

The difference between public and private wikis seems pretty obvious. Anyone can access public wikis, only select users can access (even read) private wikis. There's a difference between making a wiki private and disabling anonymous editing. It can (and will) be disabled for your wiki but not by default, as it (kind of) goes against the concept of wikis.
Also, do you actually have a lot of vandalism on your wiki or anything? I'm just curious as to why you say rolling back changes is tedious. You can also block problematic users. -- Cheers, NDKilla ( Talk • Contribs ) 13:54, 22 September 2015 (UTC)
