User close policy
This page provides information on how the trusted non-privileged users can close the permission requests on Meta-Wiki.
|
Following a Request for Comments, this policy establishes a method for trusted, but non-privileged, users to close permission requests where it is overwhelmingly apparent that the request will not pass. This policy only affects permission requests on Meta. Stewards and Meta bureaucrats retain their inherent discretion to close requests, but they may rely on this policy as well.
Autoconfirmed and confirmed users are allowed to close any request for permissions as unsuccessful (global rights and local rights) if 3 or more voters point out that the request is being made too early by a largely inexperienced user, and there aren't any valid (non-sockpuppet/meatpuppet) support votes. In case of any doubt or an unclear case, they should leave it up to a Steward.
Stewards may overturn any user closes if they believe that they are made in error. Meta Bureaucrats may overturn any user closes which concern local permission requests.
If a user closes too many requests in error, Stewards may choose to deny them the right to close requests in the future.
