Meta:Protected pages
Protected pages are pages that cannot be edited by certain users. Pages can be semi-protected, meaning they can only be edited by autoconfirmed users, or they can be fully protected, meaning they can only be edited by administrators.
Requesting protection[edit source]
Users are free to request protections of their own user page(s) on Administrators' noticeboard or just ask a Meta administrator.
Creation protection[edit source]
Creation protect is when a page is protected from being created.
These pages are also known as "Protected Titles" and this process is commonly referred to as "salting" a page.
This is commonly used to stop a page from being re-created after being repeatedly deleted.
