Autopatrolled users
This page provides information on Meta-Wiki autopatrolled users (autopatrolled), and lays out relevant policies.

Autopatrolled users on Meta are users who have the ability to have their own edits automatically patrolled.

Historically, the autopatrolled user group on Meta also had the technical ability to patrol other non-administrator users' edits and to mark them as patrolled. However, a local Meta Wiki RfC (permalink) split the user group into the autopatrolled and patroller user groups.

Appointment and revocation[edit source]

Meta administrators will generally grant autopatrolled if a user
  • has been a user on Meta for at least 30 days and
  • has made at least 50 edits (excluding edits to their own userpage or other minor edits)

OR

  • has been a user on Meta for at least 15 days and
  • has made at least 150 edits (excluding edits to their own userpage or other minor edits)

A Meta administrator may use their discretion and refuse to grant autopatrolled even if the criteria is met and may also use their discretion in deciding whether to revoke autopatrolled. Reasons for revocation or refusal may include (but are not limited to):

  • Violations of Meta or global policies
  • User edits frequently needing correction or removal by other users
  • Demonstrating a lack of understanding about how Meta functions
