Interwiki administrators are users who can edit the interwiki table upon request, but not the global list which remains restricted to Meta administrators. Interwiki administrators can be global (able to edit any wikis) or local (only able to edit certain wikis).

Interwiki admins are required to check every link before they add it to Special:Interwiki, to make sure it is not malicious.

Requests for changing Interwiki should be made on Community noticeboard if no local interwiki administrators exist on the wiki.

Rights and Eligibility criteria[edit | edit source]

Interwiki administrators are voted by users. However, the following conditions must be met in order for the user to be eligible to be voted. If these conditions are not met, the user may not be a candidate for 'interwiki-admin' and any support votes will not matter. A candidate must:

  • Have at least 1000 total global edits on Miraheze (on more than one wiki) (Note: These edits may not consist of directly copy/pasting content from other wikis, they must be edits done by the user)
  • Have had their Miraheze account for at least 2 months
  • Be involved in some way in community matters (in discussions on Community Noticeboard, etc.)

Requests for global Interwiki administrator should be made on Requests for global rights and requests for local interwiki administrator should be on the suitable local venue on the wiki and a Steward informed of the request after a week. Local interwiki administrators must hold bureaucrat rights on the local wiki to be eligible.

Revocation[edit | edit source]

If an interwiki-admin adds any malicious site to interwiki, they can immediately be revoked without warning.
