Bloqueios globais

These differ from global blocks which only affect IP addresses, ranges, or users using these affected ranges/addresses and which can have an expiry time defined.

All global locks are logged here on Miraheze Meta at Special:Log/globalauth.

Unlike a local block where users are prevented from editing a particular wiki and may have limited access (including editing their talk page or emailing users if local administrators allow them to), global locks log users out of their account and prevent them from being able to log in.

Global locks are usually applied to vandalism-only accounts, spam-only accounts, compromised accounts, or highly disruptive accounts that have been spotted abusing multiple wikis.

Accounts that have been globally locked can also be configured to have their usernames hidden on all logs; this is used for disruptive or inappropriate names. Additional uses include Trust and Safety actions (which may include anonymizing/hiding a username), global ban enforcement and self-requested locks.

In cases of cross-wiki vandalism, spam or other disruptions, you can also report it on the Counter Vandalism Team IRC or Discord channel to have either a Global Sysop or Steward lock the account. If you are reporting an underage user, do not do this - instead, report including all evidence directly to ts@miraheze.org.

Appealing a lock

A lock is not necessarily a ban. If you have received a ban, for example from Trust and Safety or a community ban, please consult the global bans page. These will mention 'ban' explicitly in the lock reason and must be appealed differently.

Steward-applied locks are not given, nor overturned lightly. There are generally three circumstances for locks to be undone.

  • The lock was self requested; simply request an unlock with the email attached to the account.
Please do not request locks in situations where you really just want to take a break and intend or think you might return.
    • Note that self requested locks can occur 'under a cloud'.
In this case, or if the lock is reissued for abusive behavior, the sanction will have prominence over the request.
In other words a self requested lock can't be used to get around a punitive lock.
  • The lock was made in error, ie, Stewards or Global Administrators made a mistake.
This can be done at any time, but the appeal must explain the entire situation from their end, provide any available evidence why the lock was incorrect, and ground their arguments in global policies.
  • The locked user has changed, and the behavior resulting in a lock will not happen again.
This should be made no less than three months after the lock, provide any available evidence from related public platforms of improved behavior, and explain what has changed.
If this sort of appeal is very short or not compelling, stewards may refuse.

Repetitive emails, demands for unlock, declaring without basis you did nothing wrong or abusive behavior will likely result in immediate refusal. Locks for extreme issues, such as long term abuse, will be held to far higher scrutiny.
