1. Purpose
This document outlines the Data Request Process for WikiTide Foundation. In adopting this policy, it is our intention to comply with all applicable data privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (as adopted by the EU and UK), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). We are committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy rights.
2. How to Request Data
- Self-Service Options: Before sending a request, please explore these self-service options:
- If the information is on a wiki page, you can correct it simply by editing the page.
- You can modify user settings in Special:Preferences.
- If you wish to change your username, for instance to remove personal information, you can request using Special:GlobalRenameRequest.
- For wiki exports or backups, use Special:DataDump.
- You can request removal of personally identifiable information through TSPortal
- Initiate a Request: If the self-service options above are not suitable, send your request to privacymiraheze.org.
- Identify whether you wish to access, correct, or erase your personal data. Make this explicitly clear in your request.
- Specify the types or categories of data to be accessed, corrected, or deleted.
- If requesting deletion, indicate if you wish to have your account locked.
- Verification: Be prepared to verify your identity to prevent unauthorized data disclosure. We may decline to process a request if we are not able to adequately verify your identity.
3. Processing Your Data Request
- Timeline: We aim to process all requests within 30 days, or faster as the law in a given jurisdiction may require. Requests are prioritized according to requirements of the law.
- Privacy: Requests are handled confidentially by Miraheze's staff. Your personal information will be protected in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
- Data Assessment: For each request, we will assess the data stored, including reviewing the user table and other database tables that store personal data, and any related IPs or personal information.
- Action: If we have sufficiently verified your identity, we will act on your request in a timely manner. Depending on the request, we may or may not communicate in response to your request.
4. Do Not Sell My Data
The WikiTide Foundation was not going to sell or rent your data anyway, so there is nothing you need to do. We only allow access to private data for the purposes of maintaining and securing our service or as otherwise required to ensure the safety of our users and the public.
