Worldbuilding wiki set after a vampire outbreak seeks volunteers to write lore

Hey there my name is Stevie and I'm the organizer of Tarel worldbuilding project. I am seeking writers for my wiki here: to write lore on vampire clans and places. We are building a wonderfully detailed world with highly detailed nations each with their own story. I have been working on this project with some contributors for the past 4 years and we have been have a blast expressing ourselves in this world.

If you want to take part, please contact me on my talk page here: to take part in my world.

Thank you for your time.

Importing Vietnamese's Wikipedia protection labels

I'm going to import the protection icons from Vietnamese's Wikipedia, but only some commons kind of lock (semi, full, extended, interface, create, move and cascade). Could you list for me things need to import and things need to change before implement that? Thanks. Song Ngư MGR (talk) 04:01, 17 May 2021 (UTC)

I would recommend using the interwiki prefix for Vietnamese Wikipedia from your wiki's interwiki table, which includes the global prefixes, and, optionally, assigning edits locally where the same user account exists. Note that you may also want to import only revision from each template, or import each required module and template individually so you don't time out. Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 12:21, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
@Dmehus: After doing as you said, plus importing more missing modules and templates, I has added the Lock template to my semi-protected page since it did not embed the template but look likes it still keep saying "This page is protected" - not an thing that it suppose to be. So that's mean I need to adjust few things in the Protection banner's config page, did I need to? Song Ngư MGR (talk) 18:08, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
Sorry for the message, I figured out the working mechanism of the module and the template. Anyway thanks for helping me. -- Song Ngư MGR (talk) 18:40, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

User merge request on Synth DIY Wiki

On Synth DIY Wiki please can users Xyzzy, Xyzzp, Xyzzr, Xyzzx be merged into user Plugh they're all user accounts that have been used to check non-admin usability. Rob Kam (talk) 12:26, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

Firstly, this is a Steward request, so should be placed at stewards' noticeboard. Secondly, unfortunately, due to the CentralAuth extension to which Miraheze uses, it's simply not scalable to merge every likely spam only account, due to the number of wikis each account is attached to. Finally, though likely related accounts, we can't be certain of that, either. So, I'm going to have to mark this as X mark.svg not done, unfortunately. Dmehus (talk) 12:33, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

Go to your ManageWiki's extension settings and enable PageImage (API) and TextExtracts (Other) then SAVE for the first step. After that, go to Other agian and you should found Popups is enabled for you to activate. Song Ngư MGR (talk) 02:14, 22 May 2021 (UTC)

Infobox titles not formatting

Suddenly for the past few days the text in the Infobox template have stopped formatting properly. I've looked at the Module:Infobox but can't see anything different with it, and haven't made any recent changes to stylesheets etc. Not a cookies issue or browser issue. Any ideas on why this is happening? Example of how this looks attached. Orvakki (talk) 17:43, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

I don't see any error in that image. So what do you think that Infobox should look like? --Anton (talk) 17:57, 21 May 2021 (UTC)
Its a direct port from Wiki so should look like this (minus photo of Biden which I removed) Orvakki (talk) 18:07, 21 May 2021 (UTC) EDIT: And did look like the above until just the other day. Not sure what changed Orvakki (talk) 18:10, 21 May 2021 (UTC)
Well now I see the difference, thanks for the new picture. Something has happened, and I don't know what. Especially when you said you haven’t changed the style sheets. --Anton (talk) 18:26, 21 May 2021 (UTC)
I did a forensic examination and deleted literally every module, template etc involved. It was a problem with Module:Navbar but still strange as it hadn't been edited since January. But thankfully problem solved! Orvakki (talk) 18:46, 21 May 2021 (UTC)
Nice to hear that the problem was solved. Good luck and success with your wiki! --Anton (talk) 19:13, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

Question from Rosie

Hi I am Rosie (David Rose) and live in northern NSW, AUstralia.

I am the owner of and I would really love a Mentor to help me set up the new MOMA wiki for a non-commercial community arts project called the Museum of Moving Art.

I understand that PHP basically runs the show - generating the HTML pages to serve to the browser and that it gets data from a ?MySQL database to compile the pages. I was doing HTML when CSS were the new thing but haven't really touched website creation for well over a decade.

I am a good learner and intelligent, but I do have concentration issues (ChemoBrain) and need to take complex new ideas slowly and methodically. My learning would really benefit from a Mentor: someone who is skilled at the structural side of Wikis, who understands how all the elements work together. If I could ask questions about where things are, for example, or am I on the right track, I think I would learn really well.

It seems to me that everything is in pages and templates are pages that work in pages, and that the hierarchical file structure that I learnt when I was making HTML sites back in the day has been replaced by a database of page elements. Museumofmovingart (talk) 07:38, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

What would be a good wiki for me to create in the future?--Iron Sword 23 (talk) 16:14, 22 May 2021 (UTC)

I would personally recommend you not request any wikis for the time being, as you have two or three wikis you've just started and should keep you plenty busy. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 16:21, 22 May 2021 (UTC)
That's why I said in the future. Iron Sword 23 (talk) 16:24, 22 May 2021 (UTC)
Yeah, but there's really no need to ask about this on community noticeboard now. It's potentially relevant as an off-topic discussion on Discord, but if wanting to discuss it on-wiki, I'd probably wait at least a couple months before getting ideas for a new wiki. Dmehus (talk) 17:11, 22 May 2021 (UTC)

How do I autocollapse navboxes on --Iron Sword 23 (talk) 22:20, 23 May 2021 (UTC)

@Iron Sword 23: You can set the state parameter to the infobox to collapsed as specified in w:Template:Navbox#Parameter_descriptions. — Arcversin (talk) 01:19, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
Done. Iron Sword 23 (talk) 01:25, 24 May 2021 (UTC)

I wanted to know that as on miraheze, using the [[wikia:]] shortcut, we are able to link to fandom. However, what shortcut could we use to link to miraheze from fandom. I tried using [[miraheze:]], to no avail. Al-khataei (talk) 02:47, 24 May 2021 (UTC)

@Al-khataei: Wikia doesn't appear to have an interwiki prefix for Miraheze. Theoretically you could ask them to add one, though the best solution would probably be to create a template that produces a link. — Arcversin (talk) 02:54, 24 May 2021 (UTC)

Adding extended user for the protection banner

I have added and deployed successfully the protection banner for my wiki. But there's an new problem. In the function's source codes, there's an protection type called "Extended Protection" that does like the "30/500" type in Vietnamese Wikipedia that I would reduce it to "15/200" for my wiki. How could I add that "15/200" permission as default on my Wiki and how to setup that protection type on the lock options drop-down list? If there's a way to do that, does I need creating a task on Phabricator? Song Ngư MGR (talk) 02:04, 22 May 2021 (UTC)

Typically, this is done with adding a new protection level, but I'm not sure what you mean by "15/200"? Do you mean just increasing your autoconfirmed implicit user group edits from 10 edits to 200 edits and account age from 4 days to 15 days? Or, do you want a separate implicit user group and protection level? If the latter, please go into your wiki and create a group named extendedconfirmed, then reply here when it's been done, and I'll do the PR on GitHub for you. Normally needs a Phabricator task, yes, but this will be fine. Dmehus (talk) 02:09, 22 May 2021 (UTC)
@Dmehus: I'd prefer for the second one, and I have done that for you. Is there any optional premissions need to be assigned for that group? Song Ngư MGR (talk) 02:18, 22 May 2021 (UTC)
And for easier access, my wiki database name was lhmnwiki. Song Ngư MGR (talk) 02:44, 22 May 2021 (UTC)
Song Ngư MGR Apologies for the delay in replying. This request has now been Yes check.svg done as a team effort by Reception123 and myself. See further instructions at #T7346 on Phabricator. Dmehus (talk) 17:30, 24 May 2021 (UTC)

A Glitch

There is an odd glitch in global lock logs that causes the link to the global account to become a redlink, rather than linking to the CentralAuth page: I know that this isn't a glitch with CentralAuth in general because on the Wikimedia lock logs the username links to the CentralAuth page, so this is a Miraheze-specific glitch. Blubabluba9990 (talk) 21:57, 22 May 2021 (UTC)

Since this glitch was Miraheze-specific, creating a task on Phabricator would be a good idea to tell about this glitch. Song Ngư MGR (talk) 02:53, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
But idk how to use Phabricator. And it isn't a "was" because it is still happening. Blubabluba9990 (talk) 15:38, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
Hi. This isn't really a glitch, and my understanding is that this currently works on the Wikimedia wikis as a result of a gadget mentioned in the upstream task. Reception123 (talk) (C) 12:20, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
Ok. Could the gadget be added to Miraheze, or is that not a possibility. Blubabluba9990 (talk) 19:13, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
I think the gadget should be added. InspecterAbdel (NLW) 19:26, 24 May 2021 (UTC)

Interwiki Table Changes

Hey there, could you please change the local interwiki table for the wiki at so that the prefix "c" is set to "yes" for both "Forward" and "Transclude"? Thanks so much in advance! Jt15s (talk) 11:22, 24 May 2021 (UTC) Jt15s (talk) 11:22, 24 May 2021 (UTC)

Jt15s Thank you for your request for this local override to the c global interwiki prefix. In this case, since Miraheze Commons and Wikipedia are both set globally to have both the "forward" and "transclude" flags enabled and since this is not the first request for this global override (i.e., there have been quite a few), I've actually Yes check.svg completed this reasonable request globally. Please let us know if you require any further local interwiki table additions or changes. Thank you Dmehus (talk) 13:55, 24 May 2021 (UTC)

Hello. I have noticed on various wikis that the number of main space pages displayed in Special: Statistics does not match the number of main space pages for each wiki. In all these cases the number that appears on the statistics page is less.

Has anyone else seen this?

Hugo Ar This does happen from time to time, and I'm not sure what causes it, but system administrators have a maintenance script (initSiteStats.php, if I remember correctly) that they can run to update these statistics. Would you mind creating a Phabricator task, linking to the permalink for this community noticeboard thread, so they can run the script and also explain what causes it? Song Ngư MGR Thanks for the note and for the request. This can actually be done by you in ManageWiki, as the best way is to enable the WikiSEO extension, then add the {{#wikiseo:}} {{#seo:}} parser function to pages on your wiki which are indexed by Google. Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 16:03, 26 May 2021 (UTC)

Protect wiki

Hi. I have a question. Is it possible to have a public wiki where only chosen users can make changes? How can I change the configuration to do this ? Thanks. Solidairesgm (talk) 12:47, 27 May 2021 (UTC)

@Solidairesgm: Hi. Yes that is definitely possible! All you need to do is to go to Special:ManageWiki/permissions and remove the 'edit' permission from * (which means anonymous users) and from user. Then you can create a custom group and assign that group the 'edit' permission, and then use Special:UserRights to assign users to your new custom group. Reception123 (talk) (C) 13:11, 27 May 2021 (UTC)
Solidairesgm In addition to the option Reception123 said, you might also consider enabling the Moderation extension, which essentially means that a local administrator or moderator must approve any proposed edits by non-automoderated users. You would then just assign the automoderated user right to users who want to be able to edit without moderation. The advantage of this approach is that it still allows all users to propose edits, but doesn't effectively deny non-permissioned users from at least proposing edits, and it also is quite effective at thwarting spam only accounts in their tracks. Freenode status update

Tonight (04:00, 26 May 2021 (UTC)), Freenode staff took over #miraheze and related channels, removing our access from those channels. We no longer have a presence on Freenode, and have been effectively forced off the platform. If you still use Freenode, I strongly recommend you stop and migrate from that platform immediately. The "staff" have proven themselves completely untrustworthy and willing to perform serious abuses in order to maintain their image. I've dropped what channels I still had access to and further dropped my own accounts. I will only use Libera.Chat moving forward, and (again) strongly encourage you all to do the same. -- Void Whispers 04:00, 26 May 2021 (UTC)

On a side note, if you were looking to get a wikimedia cloak you need to get on the list before you drop your account. You’ll need to go through the process which requires your freenode account. MacFan4000 (Talk Contribs) 11:37, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
MacFan4000 While I get the idea behind reserving Wikimedia and Wikipedia cloaks for existing Freenode users, longer term that's a bad practice as many users will not have had a Freenode account. Two questions: does this apply only to users who previously had a Wikimedia or Wikipedia cloak for that username on Freenode? (I would hope so.) Also, do you know if they plan to drop that reservation list after a reasonable period of time, as a best practice? (I'm thinking a 3-6 month reservation timeframe would be reasonable, then anyone who hasn't re-requested their reserved cloak would no longer have their cloak reserved for them.) Dmehus (talk) 16:08, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
The actions that have occurred on Freenode last night violate the basic principles of free and open source as well as the way which peer-directed projects run. I'm glad to see that already IRCCloud, Gentoo, Atheme and I'm sure many more projects have condemned the actions that occurred. While I'm not good at writing myself, I'd stand with any member of our community that wanted to start an open letter in simmilar fashion to the above ones I've mentioned. ~ RhinosF1 - (chat)· acc· c - (     around) 15:06, 26 May 2021 (UTC)

Page Count Glitch

On both Dreadful Literature Wiki and Magnificent Literature Wiki, the page count is inaccurate:

  • On Magnificent Literature Wiki, Special:Statistics says there are only 16 content pages but if you look at Special:AllPages I counted and there are over 34, not counting redirects and the Main Page.
  • On Dreadful Literature Wiki, Special:Statistics says that there are only 21 content pages but if you look at Special:AllPages I counted and there are 78 pages not including sandboxes, the main page, and redirects.

Can you fix this, as it seems to be correct on other wikis. This is because both wikis need at least 40 pages before the main page can be redesigned, but if the page count is inaccurate people will think that there are less pages than there actually are. Blubabluba9990 (talk) 15:22, 29 May 2021 (UTC)

Hi, The 'article' count by default on Special:Statistics has other requirements. See this help page for information. You can use Special:ManageWiki/settings on your wiki to change it although it may take a while for the update to be reflected unless you ask a Sysadmin to force an update. ~ RhinosF1 - (chat)· acc· c - (     around) 17:46, 29 May 2021 (UTC)

MauroPerin15 You might consider enabling the the Translate extension in Special:ManageWiki/extensions on your wiki, as that is what this wiki uses. The alternative to both of these messages is to create internationalised wikis of your source wiki, but that is also a lot of work. Dmehus (talk) 14:18, 2 June 2021 (UTC)

@Hoxen: You would typically do this by removing user rights related to that extension from group, but it depends on the extension. What are you trying to do? — Arcversin (talk) 01:37, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

I would like a back-up, then a deletion

I would like to give you some more room. Miraheze has been good for me, but I have lost interest in my project. Please give me a back-up & send it to mainawill(at), & then delete it. Thank you. Anjuna (talk) 13:17, 2 June 2021 (UTC)

Anjuna Normally requests for wiki deletion are requested at stewards' noticeboard, but this is fine in this case as you've asked a question. With regarding to generating a backup XML dump of your wiki, you can do this in Special:DataDump on your wiki. Please link to your wiki when this has been done. Thank you. Dmehus (talk) 13:28, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
Thank you. Anjuna (talk) 00:58, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
No problem. :) Dmehus (talk) 02:31, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
I generated a dump. How do I download it? Anjuna (talk) 09:16, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
You should be able to go back into Special:DataDump and download the dump(s) you generated after a couple minutes. Make sure you generated both an XML dump of your wiki and a backup dump of your images. Dmehus (talk) 13:06, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

ManageWiki help

Is it possible to revert or undo a manage wiki change? Ugochimobi (talk) 16:41, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

I don't think so. Iron Sword 23 (talk) 16:43, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
@Ugochimobi: Yes, though you'd need to look at the logs to see what you need to reverse, as there isn't a rollback button for managewiki changes. — Arcversin (talk) 16:43, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
@Arcversin: How do I do that? Ugochimobi (talk) 16:45, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
@Ugochimobi: Go to Special:Log/managewiki on the wiki where you wish to revert a change. — Arcversin (talk) 16:56, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
@Arcversin: Okay..... Ugochimobi (talk) 17:04, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
@Arcversin: there's never a button to revert or undo Ugochimobi (talk) 17:07, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
@Ugochimobi: You can't revert it with a button, you need to see what you changed and then use the normal managewiki interface to revert those changes. — Arcversin (talk) 17:24, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
@Arcversin: Nothing is working Ugochimobi (talk) 18:00, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
@Ugochimobi: What are you trying to revert, specifically? — Arcversin (talk) 18:12, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
@Arcversin: I actually made some configuration on my Namespace on FAMEData I need to revert it cuz it's causing a Bad title result when you try to create a new item. Ugochimobi (talk) 18:16, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
@Ugochimobi: The log doesn't mention what changes you made to the Main namespace, but re-creating the Item namespace would likely fix it. — Arcversin (talk) 18:26, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
@Arcversin: that's exactly what i've just done.. Just hope it's gonna help Ugochimobi (talk) 18:27, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

I can't use VisualEditor without changing URL!

Is there any misconfiguation or something that did not allow me to use VisualEditor without changing my URL from ?action=edit to ?veaction=edit?

I have turned on $wmgVisualEditorEnableDefault, $wgVisualEditorEnableDiffPage, and also turn off any other code editor on Special:ManageWiki/extension.

edit: That's not a problem with anon users.   Song Ngư MGR (talk) 03:35, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

I did not get answer soon for every questions I ask, even in Phabricator or Discord, why :( Song Ngư MGR (talk) 08:14, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
Do you have "Use the wikitext mode inside the visual editor, instead of a different wikitext editor" enabled and, conversely, have you disabled (unchecked) "Temporarily disable the visual editor while it is in beta" in Special:Preferences or Special:GlobalPreferences? Dmehus (talk) 13:07, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
$wgVisualEditorEnableWikitext? No, WYSIWYG is alway the justice.
And about the second one? no... and never! I did not allow myself to turn on that thing. Song Ngư MGR (talk) 14:02, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
Do I need to report this to Phab? Song Ngư MGR (talk) 02:31, 4 June 2021 (UTC)
This is a technical problem for my newcomers, have some respect man:'( Song Ngư MGR (talk) 02:01, 5 June 2021 (UTC)
I'm not sure what the issue is. Can you explain this in a bit more detail, perhaps by including the specific error or posting a screenshot? As far as I know, there are absolutely no known bugs with VisualEditor. Note that VisualEditor won't work for anonymous users, as far as I am aware. I mean, it might be possible, but I recall reading it's not recommended for anonymous users. Dmehus (talk) 02:05, 5 June 2021 (UTC)

PiscesMGR-diss-001.png Ok @Dmehus:, I got the reference image. Song Ngư MGR (talk) 03:35, 5 June 2021 (UTC)
Song Ngư MGR Thanks, that's helpful. I had a look at your wiki, and I was able to use VisualEditor on your wiki, so I'm not quite sure what's wrong. In fact, the VisualEditor loaded automatically for me as soon as I clicked the "edit" or "edit source" tab. What do you have set in the "Editing" tab of your Special:Preferences? Dmehus (talk) 05:09, 5 June 2021 (UTC)
@Dmehus: Let's see, I'm usually using my global settings and I actually don't see any settings that alter the VisualEditor option.
PiscesMGR-diss-002.png Song Ngư MGR (talk) 05:44, 5 June 2021 (UTC)
Song Ngư MGR Face-smile.svg Thank you. That's extremely helpful, and I see the issue immediately. Under the Editor options, you have made the "use the wikitext mode inside the visual editor instead of a different wikitext editor" as a global preference; however, you've not enabled it. It's a bit confusing with Special:GlobalPreferences in that the first, left most checkbox just makes the preference global. It is the second, right most checkbox that enables/disables that global preference. Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 05:59, 5 June 2021 (UTC)
I could use VS now, but I still need to change URL to have WYSIWYG since it still only shown an "Edit" button and it blocked the direct edit option. Song Ngư MGR (talk) 06:12, 5 June 2021 (UTC)

Linter doesn't work

The extension "Linter" doesn't update and doesn't find Lint errors. For example on nonciclopedia, here there are listed ONLY 10 errors, but with my bot I've found 2,000+ errors.--Angelo Pisani (talk) 11:06, 5 June 2021 (UTC)

Angelo Pisani Thank you for your report. Can you please file a Phabricator task about this? My first thought is that there is possibly a maintenance script that needs to be run to update the Special:LintErrors special page, or possibly we need to set something up on a cron like we've done for other special pages. It may also be an issue with the internationalised names of the non-English Special:LintErrors special page, too, as I know a similar issue existed with other extension(s) in the past on non-English wikis. Please make sure your link to the permalink of this request in your Phabricator task. Dmehus (talk) 13:33, 5 June 2021 (UTC)

$wgAllowExternalImages not working?

Hello. I've enabled $wgAllowExternalImages, and I'm pretty sure I'm using correct syntax, but it seems that the external image is not getting embedded for some reason. You can see it here.
Am I missing something obvious?

Also, on somewhat related note, is it possible to use $wgAllowExternalImagesFrom instead of $wgAllowExternalImages since a whitelist seems like a more sensible way to manage it? I don't see it in the settings.
Thank you. 21x (talk) 12:04, 5 June 2021 (UTC)

Hi, We'll need to whitelist xkcd on our end before it'll work. You can ask on phab and we'll have a look at adding it. ~ RhinosF1 - (chat)· acc· c - (     around) 12:17, 5 June 2021 (UTC)
So, $wgAllowExternalImages does not actually enable all external images, only whitelisted domains? Can I see the list of whitelisted domains somewhere? I'm hesitant to actually request this via a ticket because I don't anticipate it's something that would be used extensively, so it seems like I'm just generating busywork for the admins.
I might just upload it then, since Miraheze meets the NC condition of the XKCD license. Thank you for clarifying. 21x (talk) 12:47, 5 June 2021 (UTC)
Yes, that's correct. You can see an up-to-date transcluded version of the Content Security Policy whitelist here. I personally would support adding * as the images are copyrighted, so it would be problematic from that perspective to have wikis uploading copies of images to their wikis, most of which would not likely be done in accordance with Fair Use or Fair Dealing exemptions. Dmehus (talk) 13:29, 5 June 2021 (UTC)
It seems to me that Miraheze comfortably falls under the NC condition of the license. XKCD license page even mentions that 'reprinting occasional comics (with clear attribution) in publications like books, blogs, newsletters, and presentations' is okay.
But yes, to my non-lawyer knowledge, EU case law (which was transposed into UK law upon Brexit) deems hotlinking to generally be legal unless the host site itself is infringing, so whitelisting XKCD would reduce the copyright-related risks for Miraheze. 21x (talk) 14:04, 5 June 2021 (UTC)
Yeah, it's conceivable XKCD comics could be used with a Fair Use or Fair Dealing exemption, but the problem is, so many wikis don't properly attribute and summarize licensed content they do not own. Allowing external images would be helpful in that Miraheze would not be hosting improperly attributed content and, if it became so problematic, XKCD would have recourse to easily disallow hotlinking. But yeah, I do favour whitelisting this domain. Dmehus (talk) 14:07, 5 June 2021 (UTC)

Use Miraheze for a start-up to develop a business plan

Five people are working together to develop a business plan for a start up. Would a private wiki on Miraheze be an acceptable activity? Gerald 13:56, 5 June 2021 (UTC)

Yes, that's absolutely fine. You just can't use your wiki to hawk products or services for a fee, or have paid advertising on your wiki which generate revenue for your wiki. A private wiki is a really good idea, though, and you can add users to the member group using Special:UserRights on your wiki. Dmehus (talk) 13:58, 5 June 2021 (UTC)

Need a helper

I was just created the Vietnamese version of the Brawl Stars Wiki and I need some help with the CSS and styling since this wiki were not using the original Oasis skin from the FANDOM and of course this would be a hard time to do this. I knew Lily were kind of good at CSS but I would still appreciate it if anyone could help me with the CSS and styling of the wiki. Thanks :) Song Ngư MGR (talk) 02:07, 6 June 2021 (UTC)

Ecological Farm Business Data Harvesting Doodad Advice Request

I work for an organisation called the Landworkers' Alliance and am building a wiki to enable the UK ecological farming community to share business data. I would like to set up something than enabled farmers to submit their farm business data. Yield in kg/unit cost, where cost could be m2, hours labour, input costs, soil carbon, units of nature, etc. As well as maintaining a database of everyones contributed data, i would like a front end that generates range and average figures. I'm looking for something with fairly basic spreadsheet functionality.

These kind of benchmarks are going to be really useful for the growth of the sustainable farming industry. Could anyone advise me on how i could set something like this up? Check out this page of the wiki I am working on to get an idea about what I need. Thanks.x (talk) 16:59, 27 May 2021 (UTC)

Look into using ParserFunctions if you want to do calculations on pages (using features already available). As for the database stuff you mentioned, I'm not sure.
This may provide a start regarding calculations (could be used injunction with templates and tables of data — if you're not familiar with templates, this could be a large learning curve):
It may also be worthwhile to browse the extensions that could be enabled on your wiki, just right click on them and read their page on the MediaWiki website before enabling them in order to determine what it is used for. I am not currently aware of an extension that would be useful for you beyond the ParserFunctions. SchizoidNightmares (talk) 02:54, 9 June 2021 (UTC)

CSS font importing problem

I was trying to @import using to have the Pusia Extra Bold that could help me fixing the bad font problem but I don't know how to import it or include it in CSS's font-family rule. Help me ;-; Song Ngư MGR (talk) 17:54, 6 June 2021 (UTC)

You do this:
@font-face {
	font-family: Pusia;
	font-weight: bold;
	src: url("");

Then you can use it with the font-family name "Pusia". —MarioMario456 15:21, 7 June 2021 (UTC)

Ok... I would try your solutions '_' Song Ngư MGR (talk) 07:43, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
And also, @MarioMario456: Your solution didn't work as intended. Song Ngư MGR (talk) 12:40, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
Blame the web for their fucking security stuff that prevents us from using custom fonts: Refused to load the font '' because it violates the following Content Security Policy directive: "default-src 'self' blob: data: * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * 'unsafe-inline' 'unsafe-eval'". Note that 'font-src' was not explicitly set, so 'default-src' is used as a fallback.MarioMario456 12:56, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
@Song Ngu MGR: Because the web is shitting on us with their security bullshit, you have to upload your font to your wiki to use it. —MarioMario456 12:57, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
I mean at least they care for security, but yeah that is bs. :/ Bukkit (talk) (C) 16:38, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
Uhmm... I have uploaded it, but how can I fix my fonts? Song Ngư MGR (talk) 00:33, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
Nevermind, I have uploaded it and change the URL, finally it work. Thank you @MarioMario456 and Bukkit: for assisting. Song Ngư MGR (talk) 03:04, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
Also, I have another question. Is there a way to see CSS classes without using the browser's F12?
I think there are some kind of "debugging" language that when I use with ?uselang=, all the elements of the page would shown it's CSS classes name :// Song Ngư MGR (talk) 07:48, 8 June 2021 (UTC)
Not that I'm aware of. What you might be thinking of is ?uselang=qqx which shows you the system message that provides the source MediaWiki: interface page for each interface message. -- Void Whispers 00:57, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
I was think that could shown the element's class name '_'
Also... @Void: Thank you for help me. Song Ngư MGR (talk) 03:06, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
