how to fix error?[edit | edit source]

Hello! When I did the Template "Website" I got the error "Error Lua in Module: Wikidata on line 186: attempt to index field 'wikibase' (a nil value)." I think I need to enable the "Wikibase (client)" extension for the template to work. If I think correctly, how can I turn it on? Wiki — frog.miraheze.org Kwack (talk)

Lilypond Version[edit | edit source]

I am using the extension Score, which is using Lilypond 2.18.2. Most of my scores require 2.19.x, so I am very limited with the use of the extension. Is there planned to update Lilypond any time soon? Greetings Manuela (talk) 07:04, 31 August 2019 (UTC)

@Manuela: Yes check.svg Done updated to 2.19.81. Reception123 (talk) (C) 07:14, 31 August 2019 (UTC)
Wow, that was really fast! Thank you very much, when will I see the change in my wiki? Lilyu - smile.svg Manuela (talk) 14:41, 31 August 2019 (UTC)
@Manuela: You should be able to see the change now, is that not the case? Reception123 (talk) (C) 15:10, 31 August 2019 (UTC)
Check out this link, I show the actual version of Lilypond here: About Lilypond Wiki, I tried purging the page, no effect Manuela (talk) 16:15, 31 August 2019 (UTC)
I have checked out some other wikis, on every one my code says Version 2.18.2 <score raw="1">\paper { tagline = ##f } \markup \fontsize #4 #(lilypond-version)</score> Lily (talk) 08:25, 11 September 2019 (UTC)

I just imported brand new templates from Wikipedia, but they link to Wikipedia. I can’t explain in the title alone though..[edit | edit source]

So I wanted a few cosmetic changes to my wiki. I decided to import some pp templates, which are the templates that you see on some Wikipedia pages with a lock icon, with gray background, on the top-right of a page. I imported many templates. But the lock linked to Wikipedia’s protection policy. How should I make it link to mine? Plus, I don’t even know how to code in Lua and all the complicated code is freaking me out.

To simplify where you need to look for any future changes, most of the links you need to change for the pp templates seem to be in the config page at Module:Protection banner/config, similar to how you did this edit. Specifically for the lock's link, it linked to Wikipedia:Protection Policy#semi, and searching for that in the /config page gets you to an imageLinks section on the page. I went ahead and made the change and verified it works on the lock you have on this page. Hope this helps! -- Elaeagnifolia (talk) 04:15, 2 September 2019 (UTC)

Very difficult question[edit | edit source]

I don't know how to use a template using <choose> or <option> on another page and create a single number without affecting <choose> or <option> at that point. See [1] ,[2] for more details.

That is
  1. Template using <choose> and <option>([1])
  2. Page where you want to use a template (casino game)([2])
  3. I want to get a number that does not change by updating there.

I think you can get what you want by allowing to cache the results.--開拓者 (The Pioneer) (talk/contribs | global🌎) 00:55, 3 September 2019 (UTC)

Rename[edit | edit source]

Greetings, community. How I can change my username? Haizaki 13:23, 3 September 2019 (UTC)

@Haizaki: Ask a steward to do it Gustave London (talk) 13:30, 3 September 2019 (UTC)

Wikimedia Issues[edit | edit source]

Hi all,

We are aware of an issue with the InstantCommons function. This is due to an ongoing outage of some wikimedia servers that is affecting our ability to retrieve images from commons. There is nothing we can do at this time apart from wish everyone working on restoring service good luck!

It's happening![edit | edit source]

The "Error creating thumbnail: File missing" error has come to our wikis and screwing over the files! I can't even upload a file at all because I get this error:

Could not open lock file for "mwstore://local-backend/local-public/f/fd/Screenshot_2019-09-03_at_11.37.33.png". Make sure your upload directory is configured correctly and your web server has permission to write to that directory. See https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Manual:$wgUploadDirectory for more information.

Someone fix it!!!

Please read the above section, it is known. Zppix (Meta | CVT Member | talk to me) 22:27, 6 September 2019 (UTC)
We're aware of our spotty uptime for today. One of our servers is not working properly and has brought everything down. As a temporary fix, we've disabled the related servers in order to bring the wikis back up. Unfortunately, the services we disabled are our file servers. A direct result of this is that images will be temporarily unavailable, and it will be impossible to upload for the duration of this issue. Sorry for the inconvenience. How do you change your signature?[edit | edit source]

I want to change my signature to "Thank u, next, Eiji". But I don't know how. Eijitheawesome (talk) 20:21, 8 September 2019 (UTC)

@Eijitheawesome: You can do this from Special:Preferences. Please ensure you select the 'treat this as wiki markup' box. I would suggest somewhere linking to your user and/or user talk page. ~ RhinosF1 - (chat) · CA · contribs · Rights -      offline) 20:34, 8 September 2019 (UTC)

An error with the Flow extension[edit | edit source]

Every time I try to post a link on a flow discussion, I get this error.

[65e7c79dfe278b96d761808a] Caught exception of type Wikimedia\Rdbms\DBQueryError

The only way I can bypass this error is by removing the link destination by using <nowiki></nowiki> or removing it. Can you fix it?

Thank u, next, Eiji (talk) 05:42, 9 September 2019 (UTC)

I think it's a technical issue and you should file a ticket on phab:.--開拓者 (The Pioneer) (talk/contribs | global🌎) 05:47, 9 September 2019 (UTC)
Okay. I will do so.

I got a problem[edit | edit source]

On my Wiki project, something has recently been going wrong. I keep getting the following error message: " [01043969262bb838332e4ade] 2019-09-10 15:15:32: Fatal exception of type "Error" ". It's been happening on-off today and I'm just really confused. Is there any way to fix this?? Thanks. ManiacACS (talk) 15:22, 10 September 2019 (UTC)

Hi, @ManiacACS:, I'll look shortly for you. ~ RhinosF1 - (chat) · CA · contribs · Rights -      offline) 15:34, 10 September 2019 (UTC)

Finding Wikis which use a specific extension[edit | edit source]

Hi, is there a possibility to find out which wikis on Miraheze use a specific extension? And how can I find wikis with recent edits? Thanx, Lily (talk) 04:48, 11 September 2019 (UTC)

@Lily: There is no extension or automatic process to do so. The only way you could find out would be to ask a sysadmin to take a look at any specific extensions (so please feel free to ask me and I will provide a list). As for wikis with recent edits, that is also currently not possible but you can take a look at Special:WikiDiscover and Gazetteer of wikis. 06:04, 11 September 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for the answer, I am interested in the extension Score. I have already been looking on Special:WikiDiscover, but many wikis there are closed or private. Gazetteer of wikis ok wow 319.450 pages, that is a lot Lily (talk) 06:52, 11 September 2019 (UTC)
@Lily: these wikis have Score enabled. Reception123 (talk) (C) 07:09, 11 September 2019 (UTC)
Thank you so much, Lily (talk) 07:45, 11 September 2019 (UTC)
I have checked it out, unfortunately there is an extension called Contribution Scores. It seems that every wiki that has this extension activated pops up in your list, too. Lily (talk) 08:04, 11 September 2019 (UTC)
All wikis using extension Score, not especially Miraheze ones. --Rob Kam (talk) 12:15, 13 September 2019 (UTC)

I cannot find my wiki on wmflabs.org[edit | edit source]

I was looking for the stats of my wiki on wmflabs.org (just for fun), but I could not find my wiki. What am I missing? Lily (talk) 05:32, 13 September 2019 (UTC)

@Lilly: These stats have not been recently updated unfortunately. ~ RhinosF1 - (chat)· acc· c - (     offline) 17:23, 13 September 2019 (UTC)
I have contacted the maintainer (Mutante) so he can take a look. Reception123 (talk) (C) 17:27, 13 September 2019 (UTC)
Thanks a lot, greetinx. BTW, can you tell me why I do not see Lilypond Version 2.19.81? My code still says 2.18.2 Lily (talk) 19:26, 14 September 2019 (UTC)
@Lilly: 2.18.2 is the latest stable version as far as I can tell. ~ RhinosF1 - (chat)· acc· c - (     offline) 19:35, 14 September 2019 (UTC)
@RhinosF1:I have been using 2.19.xx for quite a long time on Windows and Linux. On Linux Lilypond never crashed, the stable version is not more stable than 2.19.xx, trust me. Pls notice my username has only one "l" in the middle, so I never got a ping on your answer. Lily (talk) Lily (talk) 19:33, 15 September 2019 (UTC)

Personal Email Notice[edit | edit source]

Hi all, I intent to edit Mediawiki: Emailpagetext to allow having your own personal notice below the current message. I will post the exact new wikitext which will do this shortly and will leave this open for comments for a few days. If you do not want to implement a personal message then this will not have any impact on you. ~ RhinosF1 - (chat)· acc· c - (     offline) 17:22, 13 September 2019 (UTC)
