This page is for requesting to reopen ('adopt') a wiki (if you are not a bureaucrat) that has been closed due to inactivity.

Pictogram voting info.svg Note: Only wikis that have been automatically closed due to inactivity can be reopened here! If the wiki was manually closed, any reopening must be discussed with the closing management or raised on the Stewards' noticeboard.

If you would additionally like advanced rights (administrator and/or bureaucrat), please start a local election.

If you are already a bureaucrat on the wiki simply, go to Special:ManageWiki/core (on your wiki) and uncheck the "closed" box to reopen your wiki. Wikis that are set to private cannot be adopted due to privacy reasons! You must be a registered user to request a reopening (or to post on this page).

@Bimagv: while I've gone ahead and Yes check.svg opened this, I reiterate Agent Isai's advice that you not only can reopen the wiki via Special:ManageWiki, it is the far more efficient, proper and preferred way to do so. This page is for (non-bureaucrat) people who are unable to open wikis but are interested in contributing to them. As the founder and primary contributor, it is your responsibility to keep it open by making contributions either consistently/with the help of any volunteers, or intermittently if you lack the time/community to be persistent (once every month would do the job). If you develop enough material on the wiki this way and there is quite a bit to come back to, you may request an exemption that will keep the wiki open on its own for much longer. @WindowsXP4Ever: I appreciate your enthusiasm, but in this case the wiki was manually closed and merged off to a broader Retro Windows wiki (which you acknowledged). It has the same style, management and structure as the original + allows the same amount of XP content plus other retro systems, and so what you are requesting would create a fork that directly competes with its purpose - not all items require their dedicated wiki, if a broader one fully accommodates.   1. This is a page for reopening closed wikis. What I got for a domain is not a valid name, so there's nothing to reopen.
  2. The only domain I can guess here (sbs.wiki) is completely inappropriate for the reasons in the below discussion.
  3. Speaking of which, the discussion has gone significantly off topic to any reopen request and is no longer appropriate here.
This request is closed; the topics within can be discussed in their existing talk page places (or if preferred, moved to the Stewards' noticeboard re: unbooks issue), and a new adoption request must come with 1. a valid domain name to reopen and 2. a reason that isn't an extension of the ongoing issue, since the reasons for delay on that have been explained several times.
Unfortunately I got a delay again from Doug regarding more complicated issues in general; pending a valid response on my talk page I would still be able to mediate after consulting with other volunteers who are on in my time a bit more often. --Raidarr (talk) 09:15, 9 May 2022 (UTC)

@Raidarr:Thank you for letting me explain, because the new wiki themes I want to open are all based on parody of Wikimedia Foundation's website, and the unbooks that had a dispute recently is also one of them. Therefore, I want to transfer some articles of unbooks to this adopted website before the dispute is completely resolved and subsided. After all, the original author of the articles of unbooks is myself, and there is no plagiarism problem of unauthorized reprinting.
If such an intention is not permitted, then the new topic could also include geography articles, since the Wikimedia Foundation also has a wikivoyage where I can independently theme my own geography articles on uncyclopedia.
"Activation management" means that I want to appoint assistant administrators to help update articles frequently, maintain the editorial volume, and attract new users to browse and edit, instead of a halted website. Maybe I used Chinese vocabulary to directly translate the result. unclear meaning.
The original domain name of this website was not named by me, it was taken by the creator of this wiki, and it was approved by you in the first place. If possible, assist in modifying it.--黑底屍 (talk) 15:07, 3 May 2022 (UTC)

If you want to create a new wiki with your own topic, please go to Special:RequestWiki. @黑底屍: Note that creating a new wiki that directly forks unbooks content violates the policy of miraheze. For the unbooks issue you should get consensus there with me first, instead of making funny adoption request without knowing how adoption works. @Raidarr: I don't want other to ping is I edit on the wikis without Echo extension (e.g. TheiPhoneWiki) and I'm accustomed to forbid that because I closed this notice. Also, Fandom’s notification system has no ping notice feature. I read that I confirmed it has no activity, no active bureaucrats and no policies and it is public. I want to have admin and bcrat (bureaucrat) right. I am intersted to become a maintainer because I also edited on Chinese and Japanese Harry Potter Wikis in Fandom. Very well, I can see the rationale. In any case I'm afraid the local election process remains necessary even if the wiki is fundamentally dead, as a sort of 'if anyone has reason why this shouldn't happen state your peace' step especially as a newcomer to the wiki. @小美粉粉: Thank you for the follow up; you can use the talk page of the main page as a place to make the request with a simple vote setup. It could be like one of our Meta:Requests for permissions entries with the reason(s) you should have admin/bureaucrat + a discussion section, noting any significant changes you wish to make in the wiki's scope if any. If you notify here once it's made I can add you a sitenotice.
