Request to reopen a wiki

This page is for requesting to reopen ('adopt') a wiki (if you are not a bureaucrat) that has been closed due to inactivity.

Pictogram voting info.svg Note: Only wikis that have been automatically closed due to inactivity can be reopened here! If the wiki was manually closed, any reopening must be discussed with the closing management or raised on the Stewards' noticeboard.

If you would additionally like advanced rights (administrator and/or bureaucrat), please start a local election.

If you are already a bureaucrat on the wiki simply, go to Special:ManageWiki/core (on your wiki) and uncheck the "closed" box to reopen your wiki. Wikis that are set to private cannot be adopted due to privacy reasons! You must be a registered user to request a reopening (or to post on this page).

Hi there. First, I invite you to read User groups#Bureaucrats which explains what bureaucrats are on a wiki. Essentially, bureaucrats are the highest ranking users on a wiki which I can see you are on your own wiki.
Secondly, I'd like to point out that the Meta link you're trying to use is reserved for Stewards only. To reopen your own wiki, click here and uncheck the "Closed" checkbox. Agent Isai Talk to me! 01:29, 24 March 2022 (UTC)

  • Reason: I lost the phone that had the Google Authenticator app so I was locked out of my two wikis(the other is geass.miraheze.org) because there's no way to recover the 2FA code anymore. I still have the password for the original account: Balofo. Basically I need to be a bureaucrat again to fine tune the configurations since the wikis are still very WIP.

@Balofo2: For future reference, please make new requests by clicking the "Add Request" button as you copied the request at the very top, didn't remove the "not done" template from it and forgot to change some of the links from the wiki on the old request to this new request. Requests at the very top are often ignored as they're considered done so for your sake, please use the "Add Request" button next time. Now, while the wiki can be reopened, I would like to note that reopening a wiki does not equal you automatically gaining bureaucrat and sysop on the wiki. Once the wiki is reopened, you must stage a local election for the rights first and if no one contests it, you can be elected by acclamation. Agent Isai Talk to me! 02:07, 26 March 2022 (UTC)

@Balofo2: I've Yes check.svg reopened the wiki. In addition to Agent's advisement I intend to follow up with you on the account issues. You can either start a local election per above to regain rights in that way, or attempt to recover your account through alternate means - though, the first step for that is seeing if you have saved any of the one-time recovery codes you should have seen when first adding 2FA. If you lost those too, it's a good opportunity to advise you to save those somewhere else so you are not entirely dependent on your phone. --Raidarr (talk) 14:02, 27 March 2022 (UTC)

Tannerzm, it looks like thalaswakewiki was, unfortunately, closed, deleted, and dropped in this batch of deleted wikis in accordance with Dormancy Policy. As a private wiki, it would not be included in the publicly available Internet Archive backups that Reception123 does, but it may be in his private wiki backups. Your images won't be restorable, unfortunately, if you had any that is, as those aren't backed up.
