You're currently logged out. If you're having problems with your wiki, you need to login.
Looking to make a report regarding a specific user? In addition to being required to provide a thorough and complete report, you should also know that reports by anonymous or logged out users are not taken very seriously for a couple reasons, namely that: sre with your username and the specific error message you are receiving, and they will assist you, or direct you to other global functionaries where appropriate. |
This noticeboard is only for requests that require Stewards', or, in a limited number of circumstances, Global Sysops' intervention. If in doubt, please try the Community noticeboard first, and you will be directed here if the matter requires a Steward. On the Stewards' noticeboard, you can request...

If you suspect sockpuppetry, please compile evidence for this. Include as many links to similar behavior as possible such as overlaps in editing styles, grammar, edit summaries, or even SocialProfile data. Failure to do this may result in delays or a decline. To make a request, place the following at the very bottom of this section. Replace every section as needed: == Username@<subdomain>wiki == {{CheckUser request |status = <!--don't change this line--> |user name1 = |user name2 = |user name3 = <!-- Up to 10 users --> | wiki = <!-- Put the subdomain of the wiki here --> |reason = Add your reasons here, including compelling evidence ~~~~ }} |

Here are some recent sockpuppet accounts whose sockpuppeteers may require an IP lock on the AVID Wiki:

- Reason(s): Above are Ngozikal socks as evident by their real names (Jordan K Ene) and similar username patterns. She has made numerous sockpuppets recently and was previously IP banned on the wiki in July for one year only to somehow make new accounts. Camenati (talk) 20:41, 15 October 2022 (UTC)

- Reason(s): Lastly, these users are sockpuppets of PBSArchive. If you take a look at his edits, he mostly does page creations like his other socks containing the same formatting and spelling errors (e.g. misspelling "Availability"). He was previously IP banned on the wiki for a year back in July, but like Ngozikal, he somehow made a new account evading the IP lock. Camenati (talk) 20:41, 15 October 2022 (UTC)

Requests for (un)(b)locks
Instructions/Read before making a request
|
---|
Please use this section to request global locks (including self-locks), blocks, or their rescindment. If reporting vandalism-only accounts, make sure they fit the global standard definition for vandalism only accounts: there must be no or almost no constructive editing behaviour and, additionally, this behaviour should be occurring on multiple wikis. If requesting a global lock, place the following at the very bottom of this section. Replace every section as needed: == Username == {{status}} *{{LockHide|username1|hide=1}} <!-- include hide=1 if you want to hide the username as it's offensive --> *:Include your reason here ~~~~ If you're including multiple accounts in your report, format it as follows == Username == {{MultiLock|username1|username2|etc}} :Include your reason here ~~~~ |

Wiki (un)deletion
Instructions/Read before making a request
|
---|
Use this section to request Stewards undelete a wiki if it was deleted for inactivity (not if it's 'closed' (i.e. uneditable but still online) in which case you must use Requests for reopening wikis). To request a wiki deletion, if your wiki has multiple contributors, you must hold a local discussion beforehand and consensus must be in favor of the wiki closing. If your wiki is a small/personal one where you are the sole contributor, no discussion is needed. Please place the following at the very bottom of this section. Replace every section as needed: == <Name of wiki> == {{SN wiki request |status = |request = deletion or undeletion |wiki = <subdomain of wiki> |reason = <reason> ~~~~ |discussion= <link to discussion, if any> }} |

Restricted setting change requests
Instructions/Read before making a request

Use this section to request Stewards change a setting which is restricted and cannot be changed by bureaucrats, including extensions which require a Steward to enable them (such as Cargo, Semantic MediaWiki). Constant Noble
- Wiki: constantnoble.miraheze.org (On wiki: ManageWiki (e, n, p, s) • ManageWiki log • Recent Changes - On Meta: Wiki request • ManageWiki/core)
- Requesting: Deployment of Score
- Discussion: https://phabricator.miraheze.org/T5863
- Reason(s): As I stated earlier this year at Phabricator, the Score extension has been on my creative-venture wiki's roadmap ever since its ByetHost trial run. (Its installation—local or otherwise—would be a big boon for its long-term prospects; helps that I've long been a budding composer alongside my efforts as a fledgling author and conlang developer.) Of course, now that Wikimedia's already resolved their side of the problem...
- Not many sites on Miraheze used Score in the first place prior to/around mid-2020's issues. I'm aware of just two from experience: BrainAge Wiki (Jack980517), now recently deleted over inactivity, and the Lilypond Wiki (Lily); the latter "[managed to find] an alternate method" according to RhinosF1.
- Furthermore, to quote @Agent Isai:
Just talked to Reception123 about Score. It seems that there is nearly no interest at all in the extension. Looking through Phabricator, no one has enquired about the extension since it's been disabled. Looking through the Discord/IRC chat logs, it seems only 2 users have expressed interest in Score—1 in late 2020 and another in 2021, both were on the Discord server's #general channel and both users have since deleted their accounts or left the server. If security and resource constraints are an issue and seeing that there seems to be very, very low interest in it, I would suggest leaving the extension disabled if we cannot ensure security and if resource constraints will be an issue once more. Unlike Citoid/Collection's removal where we requested community input as they had some (albeit, also very low) usage, Score currently has no usage and interest in it seems to be very low. If a user were to request Score in the future, perhaps adding it can be considered but for now, seeing that there is virtually no interest in it, I believe it would be okay for the extension to be left disabled.
- At least someone—probably Universal Omega—will have to look into the Shellbox experiments once again. If Score's long-belated arrival doesn't come to pass as a Christmas gift, then it might be too soon.
- P.S. Another one or two site enhancements are in our wiki's future—but as always, that's for another thread. Routhwick (talk) 15:32, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
- Score is active on Wikipedia, so obviously there is a solution for the security issue, otherwise Wikipedia would have been hacked by now. Just because I do not file a phabricator request every week that does not mean that I would not love to have Score back on my wiki. Of course there are not that many Lilypond editors around, even in Wikipedia there is only a small number, --Lily

Ucronias Wiki

- Requesting: Enable Cargo
- Reason(s): Hello everyone.Currently I have a personal wiki in which I have just created about 80 pages of content and more than 500 total pages but that could increase to over 1000 in several months. To make my job a little easier, I am wanting to create schematic pages in a namespace called "Data:" and the important information will appear in Special:Drilldown. I request it here as stated in Phabricator. There is already an example for this: In an old wiki, I used Cargo for the same purpose. On that occasion almost 20 000 schematic pages were created -But it could reach 40 000-. Please take the time to analyze what I am asking for. Thank you. Hispano76 (talk) 02:33, 26 October 2022 (UTC)

Use this section to report wikis which are in violation of our global policies, such as the Content Policy. Real Life Villains Wiki Potential Content Policy Violations?
At least 95% of the pages on there, do not have a source for reference. Considering that this wiki also features Internet users, I believe the wikis need to be warned for not having references to what they did wrong (EX: News report, or Wikipedia info) and they should delete pages that do not have sources. Nidoking (talk) 19:47, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
- Moved to wiki reports. --Blad (talk • contribs • global) 20:37, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
- I agree with Nidoking, there are some pages throwing the kind of accusations you don't want to throw without solid references. Some sanction is in order. OrangeStar (talk) 21:27, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
- Can you provide some examples? Agent Isai Talk to me! 00:22, 2 November 2022 (UTC)
- There are various pages on there that don't have any references at all, like this page for example https://reallifevillains.miraheze.org/wiki/Jake_Martin and https://reallifevillains.miraheze.org/wiki/Heather_Martin Nidoking (talk) 11:56, 2 November 2022 (UTC)
- I believe at this juncture it would be ideal to raise the idea locally and see how receptive local managers are to cleaning up sources. Seeing how willing they are on this in public could give Stewards some ground to raise this topic as a priority if their intervention is required. --Raidarr (talk) 15:42, 9 November 2022 (UTC)
Discussion closure
Instructions/Read before making a request
|
---|
Please use this section to request a Steward close a local discussion. This may be in cases of local elections on wikis without bureaucrats, on wikis where local bureaucrats also voted thus needing a third-party to close, on wikis where the bureaucrat is inactive or unwilling to close a discussion, etc. |

Close RfCs where no local bureaucrat is available
I am requesting that Stewards close my 2 RfCs on Reception Wikis whenever possible, as there are no local bureaucrats to close/act on them. --Blad (talk • contribs • accounts) 16:07, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
- Both RfCs will be closed once it reaches the 5 day mark or at least 1 or 2 more days depending on if something SNOWballs. As for the first RfC however, I would not feel comfortable closing it as successful due to the nature of the wiki. It would be very premature to close any of these RfCs at this moment, especially Bluba's revocation. Agent Isai Talk to me! 16:54, 23 October 2022 (UTC)

resolved, for reference. --Raidarr (talk) 15:44, 9 November 2022 (UTC)

Ban of information about users
While I get that wikis with negative information about users are banned, or at least, frowned upon, are users allowed to have pages about them on wikis if the pages are written in a neutral way and all information is sourced? Money12123 (contribs | CentralAuth) 21:18, 19 October 2022 (UTC)
Non-steward comment I don't see why not. The current Content Policy only prohibits slanderous claims against (groups of) people. As you said, the content would be sourced, and I believe the page you are talking about was adequately sourced and not really all too negative. --Blad (talk • contribs • accounts • email) 21:30, 19 October 2022 (UTC)
- If I am aware Real Life Villains Wiki has pages that are not fully sourced. And some pages are about Internet Users. Nidoking (talk) 19:26, 20 October 2022 (UTC)
- Tell the sysops to delete them if they're problematic. There's a delete template somewhere. --Blad (talk • contribs • accounts) 20:27, 20 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Money12123: Indeed, per clause 3 of the Content Policy what isn't allowed is "unsubstantiated insult, hate or rumours against a person or group of people." It also says that content which is "fairly balanced, meaningful or substantiated by independent referencing" is allowed. If pages are "neutral" and "sourced" there is no issue and there wouldn't be a violation of that clause. Regarding Real Life Villains, if there are pages which are not sourced they should indeed either be sourced or removed. Reception123 (talk) (C) 10:32, 29 October 2022 (UTC)
- I should point out though that wikis that seem like 'reception wikis' are currently on hold per the RfC. While not explicitly defined there, it would usually be a wiki that states positive and negative qualities about users for its main purpose. Reception123 (talk) (C) 10:35, 29 October 2022 (UTC)
- At least 95% percent of the pages on Real Life Villains are not sourced. Nidoking (talk) 11:43, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
- If that's true, then open another thread here for potential content policy violations. What you are talking about is completely unrelated to what FatBurn is. --Blad (talk • contribs • global) 12:16, 31 October 2022 (UTC)

Exemption policy for "RisingBeat Wiki"
Hello, I am the owner of the RisingBeat Wiki. For several months, my staff and I have extensively followed and covered the English release of this game, as can be seen on the wiki. However, the English version of the game shut down on May 2021. Although we have attempted to shift our focus from just the English release to also include the original Japanese game, it is undoubtable that since the game's closure, our activity has gone down significantly. In addition, I have several other projects that I'm preoccupied with (including admining other Miraheze wikis) and have not been able to devote as much time to this particular wiki.
Still, our wiki is probably one of the most comprehensive documentation of the game, especially as it includes story text from the game that is no longer accessible due to the game's closure. My worry is that with the dormancy policy and the possible deletion that can result from it, this runs the risk of losing all of this documentation. Therefore, I would like to formally request a Dormancy Exemption for this wiki. Thank you for your consideration! Kiwibasket (talk) 15:25, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
- Apologies for prodding, but I was wondering if there was an update to the possibility of dormancy exemption? Kiwibasket (talk) 11:46, 10 November 2022 (UTC)

hi excuse me but in my wikitrash I can not see anything and I am told that in order to see my wikis or even the contributions I have to be part of my group. can anyone help me out of this situation ?? when I go to wikitrash the only thing I see is "NOT SUFFICIENT PERMITS" A1cb3 (talk) 22:15, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
- Hi! So, a quick look at CentralAuth reveals that the issue is exactly that, you don't have the necessary user rights to access the wiki because it is a private wiki. The people that can help you are the Stewards, this is the Meta admin noticeboard, they can't help you. I'll move your thread over to the Stewards noticeboard.
- I also noticed that you're not the original founder of that wiki, checked using the farmer log. If local admins decided to remove you, it is very unlikely Stewards will intervene. OrangeStar (talk) 22:23, 31 October 2022 (UTC)

Dormancy Policy exemption for decyclopediawiki
After an anonymous user made a report about Decyclopedia on this noticeboard in October, I announced that Decyclopedia was moving to an independent domain. That issue has since been resolved, but I still went ahead with the move, completing it by importing the images to the new domain last night. I would like a Dormancy Policy exemption for the Decyclopedia on Miraheze, since that wiki has now been archived and is no longer meant to be edited. Tali64³ (talk) 21:05, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
- If the wiki moved, why does it need an exemption? Wouldn't a deletion be better? Agent Isai Talk to me! 00:38, 2 November 2022 (UTC)
- If the wiki were to be deleted, visitors would be confused on why the wiki suddenly disappeared. Google's search results still show the Miraheze version, so it would be necessary to keep it up until the new domain appears in search results and all the relevant links are updated. Exemption Request
Can you please add an exemption to our The Lion King wiki? It's private and meant to be viewed by us and our other irl friends only. Admittedly we don't have much on it yet, but we will be adding more content to it soon.
https://thelionking.miraheze.org/wiki/ Keznen (talk) 17:17, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
Not done I myself revoked your Dormancy Policy exemption as you had not used the wiki in years per Special:Log. Before today, you had 1 page with 2 sentences on the wiki. As such, I will not be inclined to grant it until much later once you have a good number of substantive pages. 1 page after 4 years of a wiki being open does not justify an exemption. Agent Isai Talk to me! 15:18, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
- If we add more full pages next week, would we still have to wait until "much later"?
- Also, what would "a good number of substantive pages" be? We can go ahead and copy off one of the public TLK wikis and edit out the stuff that doesn't adhere to our canon if need be.
- But we can't add something like 50 pages with full paragraphs when our TLK universe doesn't have that amount of content yet. It simply isn't possible. Most characters are minor and wouldn't have that much to be said about them.
- Please clarify so we can decide whether to keep our The Lion King wiki here or try to find somewhere else to host it (ShoutWiki if that gets fixed, not sure where we'll move it otherwise since Wikia/FANDUMB is unusable). Keznen (talk) 22:07, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, you would have to wait. You've held an empty wiki for 4 entire years without any need to have activity on it, a privilege none of our 5,000 other wikis and 10,000 wikis ever created on Miraheze had, have, or will ever have, and would've probably not returned to it any time soon had your exemption not been revoked and an email sent to you about your wiki being closed. Please read Dormancy Policy#Exemptions from the Dormancy Policy for information on how we determine requests. We will be inclined to grant a request once your wiki has a good number of pages and once time has passed. Your pages don't have to be huge paragraphs but the wiki has to be of substantive value and not just the one singular stub page your wiki had for over 4 years. For example, if your wiki discusses more topics in depth and more aspects of your universe then that'd count as substantive and I'd be inclined to regrant the exemption. Agent Isai Talk to me! 01:46, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
- Well we will not wait another 4 years or even 1 year. We couldn't if we wanted to. We don't have that time even with schoolwork and writer's block aside.
- If we have to wait a long time even after adding more content, we might as well not add anything at all. Why go through the effort for basically nothing? If the wiki is still in danger of being nuked we might as well not risk losing anything substantial. Especially infoboxes, which we don't have for our TLK Wiki yet and don't have any backups of. Maybe we'll add a little occasionally but we won't go adding tons of stuff if there's a looming threat of it being deleted.
- Also, again, we mostly just have character pages in mind right now. We have a couple things of our own lore written down, but most stuff about the first movie (the only fully canon movie in our TLK universe; the sequel movie and show aren't for the most part) would have to pulled from elsewhere. We can only post what we have already and what we can find elsewhere that's usable. (Writer's block is a pain.)
- We'll touch up the pages with some much-needed pictures and some basic info, and then just keep bumping it every few days until ShoutWiki finally fixes their broken creation wizard so we can move it there and delete the one here. Keznen (talk) 02:59, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
- I'm very glad to hear that 4 more years or even 1 more will not pass. As a reminder, you can backup your own wiki at Special:DataDump and Miraheze wikis are only deleted after 6-12 months of inactivity. If you add character pages then that'd be wonderful and would certainly help build your case towards an exemption. Hope to see your exemption application in a few weeks. Agent Isai Talk to me! 03:59, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
- Oh, phew! We'll continue adding more character pages, then. The templates should be working now so hopefully we'll have at least half of the character pages up in the following weeks.
- Sorry for jumping the gun on you like that. It's been stressful for us all lately. Keznen (talk) 04:50, 7 November 2022 (UTC)

My wiki lost its immunity to the Dormancy Policy
Hi there, I'm the creator of the Crazybloxian Empire info wiki, which was one of my oldest worldbuilding projects. I had informed the people here many years ago that it was meant to be read and would not be updated for months, which gave it immunity to the Dormancy Policy. I recently found out when checking my mail that the immunity was revoked when I got an email saying the wiki had been closed. May I know exactly why it was revoked?
I don't use this website much, but I do wish for my wiki to remain up for archival purposes.
And yes, I did download a full data dump of the site. •• Fair0002 • Bureaucrat and Administrator of Crazybloxian Empire Wiki 07:13, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
