This noticeboard is only for requests that require Stewards', or, in a limited number of circumstances, Global Sysops' intervention. If in doubt, please try the Community noticeboard first, and you will be directed here if the matter requires a Steward.

On the Stewards' noticeboard, you can request...

  • ...a Steward or Global Sysop lock a spam only or vandalism only account. Note that for vandalism only accounts, the vandalism must meet the global standard definition for vandalism and to be a vandalism only account, there must be no or almost no constructive editing behaviour and, additionally, this behaviour should be occurring on multiple wikis
  • ...additional permissions on your wiki(s) that can only be granted by a Steward, such as local interwiki administrator following a successful election
  • ...a page requiring the bigdelete user right (more than 1,000 revisions) be deleted on your wiki
  • ...a Dormancy Policy exemption for your wiki

or report...

  • ...a Username Policy violation (whether in good-faith or bad faith)
  • ...a user suspected of abusing multiple accounts per the User accounts policy. You must link to specific revisions from both the suspected master and illegitimate alternate account(s)
  • ...systemic Code of Conduct problems occurring by one or more user(s) on one or more wiki(s) and/or systemic Content Policy violations on one or more wiki(s). In either case, your report must link to specific revisions and, in the latter case, your report must be both thorough and comprehensive

Private wiki deletion

Hello.

I was directed here after a question on the Discord.

I have a private wiki (seldir.miraheze.org) that I used for personal worldbuilding purposes. I recently migrated to a self-hosted wiki using another software and have successfully converted all the content of the Miraheze wiki. Thus, I don't need this wiki anymore, and wish for it to be deleted to save if even a tiny amount of space on Miraheze's server without waiting for dormancy. I was the only active user (the only other "user" was a friend who never used the account anyways) and all the content was made by me (I even used an "all rights reserved" licence).

I also wish the files I uploaded be deleted, I don't know if it's tied to the wiki or not.

Thank you, Noudeulle (talk) 12:59, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes check.svg Wiki deleted per the above stated reason in your request. Dmehus (talk) 13:35, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Removal request of Compress Revisions ($wgCompressRevisions) for chakuwiki

I have tried enabling Extension:Replace Text in order to fix some issues only to find I can't, because $wgCompressRevisions is enabled. Unfortunately, I can't uncheck it by myself because it is restricted on ManageWiki.

Could you uncheck it instead of us local bureaucrats so that we can fix some issues by replacing the codes?

Thanks in advance, Bakaba (talk) 13:51, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Bakaba: This is apparently normally done by system administrators after a large import request, which you'd previously requested on Phabricator. However, as you've articulated a clear need for this, to be able to use the ReplaceText extension, I've Yes check.svg done this for you. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 13:59, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your quick action :) Bakaba (talk) 14:29, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Dmehus (talk) 15:24, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Bakaba: Please note that, following my conversation with John, I have Yes check.svg reverted the above settings change, principally because it's rather useless in that disabling $wgCompressRevisions won't allow you to use the ReplaceText extension on pages that have been compressed by system administrators following a very large import for you wiki that you'd requested on Phabricator. Your wiki's database size, following the import, necessited the revision compression. So, barring you requesting deletion and recreation of your wiki, John did let me know that you can instead enable and use the MassEditRegex extension, as that is compatible with wikis whose revisions have been compressed. Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 19:15, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

My block on the Chronicle Stories Wiki.

A little while ago, TheOrcNamedGrognak blocked me on his wiki for removing content from pages (although I undid his edits by mistake on one page, and that I thought it there was vandalism). I tried to reach out to him, but didn't get a response from him since. I wanted to let him know that what I did was unintentional and wanted to apologize to him for my hasty revert. I am more than willing to communicate with him, and I'd like to hear what he has to say. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 17:55, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

X mark.svg Not done Please try reaching out to TheOrcNamedGrognak on their Meta user talk page if your local user talk page access has been revoked on the local wiki. Explain the situation, articulate how you will discuss potentially controversial edits with that wiki's community if unblocked, and I think you'd stand yourself in good stead to the user unblocking you. Dmehus (talk) 18:34, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Alright then. That's what I'll do. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 18:35, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 18:36, 18 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Local interwiki-admin request for BlackWidowMovie0 on wandavisionwiki

BlackWidowMovie0 requested local interwiki-admin on IRC, in the #miraheze connect channel, on 6 January 2021. The user was advised to hold a local election. On 19 January 2021, BlackWidowMovie0 advised Stewards to assess their local election page (permalink). Ordinarily, BlackWidowMovie0 would make this request for himself; however, his sitewide block on Meta on precludes this, so, as with before, I'm posting this request on his behalf. The user acknowledged on 6 January 2021 to being cognizant of the policy, qualifies through meeting the global prerequisites for interwiki administrators (whether including or excluding the 47 contributions from the user's deleted but as yet dropped the user's mcuwiki), and will be guided closely by Stewards, principally, by me in the near- to medium-term. Dmehus (talk) 17:50, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting deletion of the Dreadful Music Wiki.

I don't really need this wiki anymore, so I'd like it deleted as soon as possible. It's been sitting there for months collecting dust, and therefore, it should be removed. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 17:50, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

DarkMatterMan4500 Ordinarily, we would prefer for you to mark the wiki as closed and see this deleted in accordance with Dormancy Policy. However, in this case, seeing as you are the only contributor to this wiki, having made only 9 editing contributions, and because your wiki has no other content pages other than the default main page, this is essentially a wiki for testing purposes. So this is Yes check.svg done. Dmehus (talk) 18:21, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much Dmehus. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 19:43, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request for local interwiki administrator on webtoonfrwiki

Hi stewards,

Last week, I have launched a community vote on webtoonfrwiki for requesting interwiki administrator's rights (you can see the vote here). So, I would be good if a steward can close it, thanks. HeartsDo (Talk / Global / Wiki Creator) 17:54, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Barrage of spam-only accounts are now on the World University And School Wiki.

I'd pay attention to the ones that were randomly created. Also, this user changed his user page from this to this seems awfully suspicious to me. Another thing to take note of is the abuse filter that has been tripped today. Could someone investigate this if it's necessary? DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 19:37, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Dmehus: Wait, aren't you going to lock them up for being spam-only accounts, since you deleted a barrage of spam pages? DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 22:10, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
DarkMatterMan4500 Yes, that'll be the next step in the process. I wanted to focus on deleting the spam page and spam only account user page creations, then I will continue with the next steps for this wiki without active local administration. The wiki does have some legitimate anonymous IP editors, so restricting editing too autoconfirmed would be too restrictive. Rest assured, I will aim to have this resolved and complete by tomorrow. Dmehus (talk) 22:15, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, done deal to me. You do what you have to do, and Yes check.svg whammo! Those spam-only accounts will hit the dust in no time. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 23:07, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Locking My Alternate Account

Could you please lock my alternate account TranslationHelper? It malformed and edited pages on Meta without me first requesting a bot flag for it. I am investigating what went wrong. Till then, you may want to keep it locked. Thanks. User:R4356th/Signature 20:12, 19 January 2021 (UTC)

Do note that the edits were all legitimate and constructive as they fixed an issue regarding translated categories appearing as having 0 members. They have only been reverted as they were undesired. User:R4356th/Signature 20:14, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
And I of course, sincerely apologise for the issues it may have caused. User:R4356th/Signature 20:18, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
You can find proof of me owning the account here. User:R4356th/Signature 20:23, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I have an idea about what went wrong but if you consider this to be harmful for Miraheze or at least for Meta (even though technically this should up to Meta bureaucrats), then please let me know. Thank you. User:R4356th/Signature 20:42, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
@R4356th: If this is just temporary and limited to Meta, wouldn't a local block be more effective and less disruptive to you? Dmehus (talk) 21:06, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Dmehus: There is no way it can even affect Meta right now. I have dealt with the issue. It is just in case you people have any concerns. User:R4356th/Signature 21:09, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
And when I wrote it, I was in a hurry and really worried. User:R4356th/Signature 21:11, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
@R4356th: Alright, sounds good then. I'm going to mark this as X mark.svg not done, with the usual provision that any Meta administrator can always be requested to locally block an approved or unapproved bot account that is malfunctioning in some way. So, this won't need any action from Stewards. Dmehus (talk) 21:14, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Username reservation request

Do you think it is okay if we reserve User:Example1 and User:Example2 purely to serve as demos? It will be super helpful to have two reserves, at a bare minimum. Thanks, Integer talk 21:23, 20 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that I have procedurally moved this here from Meta:Administrators' noticeboard as that is for requests to Meta administrators. Stewards and Global Sysops are the only groups who can perform these actions. Also, please note that we already have User:Example. Thank you. User:R4356th/Signature 21:41, 20 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Integer We have these usernames already, as far as I'm aware, with Example users 2 through 5. They're all globally locked, though. In the past, we tried having shared access Example user accounts for demonstration purposes, but suffice it to say, it didn't work out well, thus why they're locked. I suppose it wouldn't be a bad idea to add "Example" to the Title blacklist, though. Dmehus (talk) 23:29, 20 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Dmehus: Could we put something on these user pages similar to what is on this? Integer talk 00:58, 21 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

More sneaky spam-bots have appeared and returned on 2 other wikis.

For the Mad Gender Science Wiki and the Permanent Future Lab Wiki Pay attention to the ones that have names like "Paperbags" and this wiki also has the exact same issue with the keyword being "Paper" and "Bags". I understand that one of you has already investigated the World University and School Wiki for spam-bots, but these 2 have brand-new sneaky spam-bots that should be carefully examined. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 21:45, 21 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

DarkMatterMan4500, thanks, I or another steward will try and take a look at this, as time allows. Measures have been put in place to prevent new page creation and editing of existing pages in (Main) namespace on those wikis by non-autoconfirmed users, so any immediate priority—that of deleting spam only account-created pages—is not there. It just becomes a question of time and available resources. There definitely is a benefit to investigating spam only accounts, so rangeblocks can be put in place, but it's nearly impossible to check and manage them all. Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 22:33, 21 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Like maybe @Void and NDKilla: or you. But again, I'm glad you guys are stepping in to take drastic measures like restricting account creations for a short time. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 23:08, 21 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Database rename

I just requested rename. So I want to change the database name of my private wiki. How can I do it? Toyria (talk) 00:55, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No I want to cancel rename request how to cancel,?--Toyrit (talk) 01:59, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Do you mean cancel your wiki database rename request, or a global rename request? If the former, database renames are done by Site Reliability Engineers on Phabricator. If the latter, just say the word, and it's as good as cancelled. Dmehus (talk) 02:16, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Both (database rename, global rename) I want to cancel global rename request Toyrit (talk) 02:25, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Toyrit Have you requested the wiki database to be renamed on Phabricator yet or not? If not, then it just won't be done as there's no request. Dmehus (talk) 02:32, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Toyrit Your global rename request has been Yes check.svg cancelled. Dmehus (talk) 02:38, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry but I changed my mind so I think no need to rename the database now. Thank you for your reply. Toyrit (talk) 02:41, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Global lock request for バスター

Hello, I would like to request for a global lock against CentralAuth/バスター for their cross-wiki abuse.

They have been blocked on Chakuwiki and Usopedia for attempting an attack against certain users. Bakaba (talk) 15:53, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I should point out that I've been noticing some suspected LTAs that have been attacking your wiki for quite a while now. They should be getting some sort of investigation as well, not just the cross-wiki abusers. Hope that helps. :) DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 16:00, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The account has been Yes check.svg globally locked by Reception123 as a vandalism-only account and a possible LTA. Let them know if you see anymore, otherwise, I'd be keeping close tabs on those types of LTA users on the #cvt-feed via Discord. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 21:36, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your cooperation. It looks like in some cases, if not all, 未来切手, an already locked user, is involved in recent vandalism on chakuwiki. Bakaba (talk) 02:50, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please remove my wiki from the list of global sysop-exempt wikis

I would like you to remove my wiki (LifeWiki) from the CVT-exemption list. Thank you. JJPMaster (talk) 17:15, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@JJPMaster: Your wiki are not on these list, so global sysops can intervene. HeartsDo (Talk / Global / Wiki Creator) 17:29, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
JJPMaster To add to what to HeartsDo explained well above, all wikis are opted in to Global Sysop counter-vandalism and spam remediation by default. I remember I was a bit confused by the WikiSet originally as well, as there's no horizontal line differentiating a difference between the "wikis" and "wikis not included" fields, the latter of which is all wikis opted in by default. Currently, there's not many wikis that have opted out, this wiki, Miraheze Commons, Revi's public wiki, and The Final Rumble Wiki, if I remember correctly. Additionally, though private wikis are listed, Global Sysops do not have global (read) access, so in practical terms, they cannot intervene. Importantly, too, Global Sysops should only intervene in accordance with policy, which which is mainly around blatant vandalism and spam. Local administrators will be given a "reasonable period of time" to remediate such problems, after which they may step in and assist. Dmehus (talk) 17:40, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Global lock request for かいたくしや and other related accounts

Hi, I'd like to request for a global lock against the following accounts for spoofing and attacking a certain user.

Perhaps we might need a CU investigation as well for further investigation. Thanks. Bakaba (talk) 06:04, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Although I don't speak for everyone, but I think this seems to be the right move. I shall thank you later. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 19:50, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It's a bit difficult to justify a global lock when there are no clear edits (attempted or otherwise), and no clear relation between the accounts (technically speaking). I can confirm that the first, third, and fourth users were using proxies. However, as it was a different proxy each time, it is difficult to confirm any relation. -- Void Whispers 19:22, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming a domain?

Just visiting from the Awful Movies Wiki. We are currently in a transition to reform our wikis in the "Triangle of Opinionated Entertainment", and part of it involves re-naming Terrible TV Shows Wiki and Best TV Shows Wiki into "Terrible Series & Episodes Wiki" and "Best Series & Episodes Wiki", respectively.

It seems to be impossible for even bureaucrats such as DeciduousWater534 to rename the domain of any wiki. Is there a way for the higher-ups of Miraheze to rename a domain? I mean, they're the ones who control the site and add in features or change stuff, they should know how to rename a domain of any specific wiki. "terribletvshows" would be renamed to "terribleseriesandepisodes" and "besttvshows" would be renamed to "bestseriesandepisodes".

FreezingTNT (talk) 17:20, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

FreezingTNT You can rename your sitename in Special:ManageWiki on your wiki. The subdomain/database change requires a Phabricator ticket, performed by system administrators (mostly likely Reception123). Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 17:27, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please investigate the Crappy GachaTubers Wiki and please place some possible sanctions for some of the contributors involved.

Hello Stewards and Global Sysops alike, I am here to report a problematic wiki that has more than multiple Content policy violations in terms of articles that has been brought to my attention as I stumbled on some of the articles that appear to have hateful, insulting or in other words, substantiated bullying and/or harassment in some of the reasons. Evidence would be the one on the Tummy Growls Gacha article as it has these for their reasons: She never stops crying! When something bad happens in her life, she cries about it, for example, she cries for: Getting Lots of Hate Getting Lots of Dislikes Being Restricted from Studio Mode School starting in September Getting Bad Grades Her Phone almost getting reset Being called "Tummkiko" Being called "Womanchild" She makes Stomach Growling Videos, which those videos are kinda pervert She's a Gacha Stomach Growl wannabe She even has Channel rules, let's take a look at them: Hii! :3 My name is Sarah, and this is Tummy Growls Gacha, here are the rules of my channel: No disliking my videos (We can dislike your videos whenever we want to) No hating me (We can hate you whenever we want to, also, this proves that you cannot handle hate) No making bad videos out of me (We can make bad videos out of you whenever we want to) No ranting on me (We can rant on you whenever we want to, also, this proves that you cannot handle criticism) No stealing my videos (You have to deal with your videos being stolen) No calling me Tummkiko or Sarkiko (We can call you a kiko whenever we want to, even though the kiko terms are old, and this also proves that you cannot handle hate) No calling me Lesbian (We can call you a Lesbian whenever we want to, and, this also proves that you cannot handle hate) She claims that she's 13, but she doesn't act like it, making her a Womanchild Her OCs are awfully made She cannot handle dislikes, Proof? here When she Discovered this page, she Vandalized it as you can see here, luckily, the changes were reverted She also raged at this page, you can see it in the comments

Now, the perplexity of those reasons seems to have either no sources, or is just there to otherwise humiliate the said user, and a little while ago, there was a user of Tummy Growls Gacha that appeared out of nowhere, and has vandalized it.

This wiki was established by FranciscoLol2009 on May 12th, 2020 and the whole purpose of this wiki is to basically make hate articles on users they don't like (which ironically is how Atrocious YouTubers Wiki, Horrible Vyonders Wiki, amongst other user wikis to get shut down in the first place due to similar CoC issues). Another good example of articles that are breaking the CoC is the one on the Jenny'sGacha article, and the reasons appear to be unsourced. Here are a few examples of them. She's acting very, very, VERY Toxic She's a TOXIC Gacha Stomach Growl whiteknight She attacked FranciscoAnimate and his subscribers just because he made a Coffin Dance video when Gacha Stomach Growl got terminated She called to FranciscoAnimate a Spoiled Brat just because he said to her: "Whiteknight!" She said to MaximoAnimateYT // Melanie Is Cutie Die in hell, that's heartless!

You're going to notice these a lot on this wiki and in the many articles that were created during the time that the wiki was created. I'd like this to be thoroughly investigated at all costs, and make sure you give the proper sanctions of the contributors, including the founder of the wiki, if necessary. And for references, please refer to the Content Policy for that wiki being investigated, as follows: Miraheze does not host wikis with the sole purpose to spread unsubstantiated insult, hate or rumours against a person or group of people Content on wikis must be fairly balanced, meaningful or substantiated by independent referencing. Wikis which have a clearly identifiable comedic or satire value are exempt from needing to substantiate claims as these provide a meaningful value in terms of relevant content.

Thanks for listening, and I hope you consider this more useful, and feel free to respond if you agree that the wiki should get shut down.

Best regards :) DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 20:22, 28 January 2021 (UTC) [reply]

DarkMatterMan4500 Holy wall of text, and that's saying something come coming from me. You've repeated large portions of Content Policy, but I'm not seeing any global policy violations in your rather lengthy dissertation. Can you clarify this a bit? Dmehus (talk) 20:29, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Dmehus Gladly, (and I apologize for that giant of wall of text, I just didn't know which source codes to use here, so without further adeu, here goes): For starters the Tummy Growls Gacha article does have some sort of insults or rather unsourced. Examples of one of the reasons being more insulting rather than criticizing says something like: "No stealing my videos (You have to deal with your videos being stolen)"
  • I for one, think that's rather encouraging someone to go out of their way of stealing videos, and the user who wrote the article has no idea that those videos could get flagged.
  • "No calling me Tummkiko or Sarkiko (We can call you a kiko whenever we want to, even though the kiko terms are old, and this also proves that you cannot handle hate)". This one apparently encourages the practice of harassing or just humiliating the said user. Hope that helps for clarification. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 20:41, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, are you able to link to discussions/locations where you've attempted to resolve this with the local wiki administration? I'm not seeing anything that is blatantly jumping out that would justify to me the necessity to intervene as a first resort. The CP violations are weak and would be one we'd encourage the local community to attempt to resolve them before we consider actions such as deletion, closing or removing a wiki. Thanks. John (talk) 21:04, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@John: Thank you for jumping in to say something. So, what are your suggestions to them? I'm all ears. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 21:07, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I hate to point this out, but the wiki has moderation, so even if I were to edit or say anything on a talk page, it would have to pass through moderation, so that's a problem. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 21:08, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
DarkMatterMan4500 For what it's worth, if the wiki has the Moderation extension installed and you are not automoderated, you can approach the user on their Meta user talk page, creating a thread with your concerns about the specific local wiki. Hope that helps. Dmehus (talk) 01:02, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, seems reasonable. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 01:16, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

User:Thegamer hater345

Their username violates the Username Policy as offensive. MarioMario456 (talk) 22:02, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

MarioMario456 I don't see how this username violates Username Policy, chiefly because it hasn't even edited, so I can't make, well, anything of it. It's possible it's trolling, but we can't assess that without any edits. Dmehus (talk) 22:06, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry to chime in, but I don't see how that's a username policy violation either and I would have to agree with Dmehus here. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 22:10, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Could someone lock BOWKing?

The reason why I am asking is because this guy has been acting very racist towards blacks like he has in the comments section. (I would understand if it's his opinion, but those comments say otherwise) https://rottenwebsites.miraheze.org/wiki/Black_Lives_Matter_(United_States)#comment-6028 https://rottenwebsites.miraheze.org/wiki/Black_Lives_Matter_(United_States)#comment-6027

And his edits indicate to me that he is clearly not here to contribute to anything positive, especially by this comment that appears to be unconstructive. What do you guys think? DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 01:26, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

DarkMatterMan4500 That's a X mark.svg not done on the lock, as I've looked through BOWKing's contributions, and their comments on awfulmovieswiki concerning the #MeToo movement are potentially valid criticism, not vandalism. That said, they cannot spew vitriolic hatred in comments on rottenwebsiteswiki in contravention of the Code of Conduct, so I've instead Yes check.svg deleted the two comments in question in absence of local administration, and guided the user to right themselves at their local user talk page. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 02:20, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, thank you for doing that, considering how @BOWKing: has been held accountable for those 2 comments, and it's great that you reminded him that spewing such hateful comments are unneeded and/or unacceptable in respect of all other blacks in the world. I would also like to thank you for biding your time into that warning you gave. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 02:26, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thanks. Dmehus (talk) 02:38, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Dmehus: No problem. :) DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 12:57, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Unlock request for 大沼

Hello. I want the steward to unlock 大沼.

He was blocked and global locked as a LTA, but local investigations (identity verification, etc.) revealed him to be innocent. He was not LTA:KOSHIN. クールトレイン777 (talk) 14:45, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what "local investigations (identity verification, etc.)" would be. Additionally, I'm personally not comfortable unlocking a user based on the results of said "local investigations" by an involved or uninvolved third party. If 大沼 wishes for their account to be unlocked, please have them present their case to Stewards, via e-mail, to stewards(at)miraheze.org for consideration. Uncivil pages on Bear Bones Wiki

So in case if you're wondering, there's a wiki called Bear Bones wiki. But two of the pages appear to be notably uncivil. This page and this. Both pages appear to be against the CoC as it clearly states "Harassment of other users is unacceptable" and I'm pretty sure that telling someone to kill themselves falls under this. So please delete these clearly discriminating pages and remind the user who made this (you can see it in the history) not to do this again. Fomantisboy35 (talk) 02:08, 30 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Fomantisboy35: Thank you for bringing it to the attention of the administrators. I would like to let you know that 2 of those pages, including another one has been Yes check.svg deleted by Reception123 since I notified him on Discord. Yes, those pages were indeed categorized as personal attacks directed at a few people, and that's not okay. Thanks for the report. If anybody else would like to respond to this thread, please feel free to do so. :) DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 14:10, 30 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of a wiki

I'd like to request the closure/deletion of https://tagtangway.miraheze.org as I would prefer to consolidate all my works under my other wiki, the Dawn Project. All information contained in the wiki have been archived already and will be recreated in the Dawn Project wiki in due time. Thank you very much. Isagani (talk) 14:19, 30 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Isagani Though we prefer to have wikis closed and made private and allow wikis to be automatically closed per Dormancy Policy, as the sole contributing member to this private wiki and because you've articulated a clear reason for deletion (i.e., this is part of a larger consolidation and amalgamation of your wikis into one larger wiki), I have Yes check.svg deleted it per your request. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 16:54, 30 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Isagani (talk) 03:54, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. :) Dmehus (talk) 03:55, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Spam-only accounts with names like Beautywomen and Paperbags (as stated previously) are appearing cross-wiki.

Most specifically these examples with names like Beautywomen can be found as soon as you see them. When you get a chance, feel free to have a look at them. Remember the keywords, as they seem to be coming to flood the User Creation Logs on multiple wikis. My apologies if this seems to be a re-occurring theme. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 17:07, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Spam only accounts are a persistent problem. It usually makes sense to report them in larger batches. We do periodically review the wikis with inactive local administrators and bureaucrats, and this wiki is one of those, so these should be caught when we next do the review. Dmehus (talk) 17:41, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, it really does make a lot of sense, as most of them appear to be attempting to flood those inactive wikis with unnecessary advertisements. I also think you should send another fellow Steward to investigate this wiki too. Thanks for responding ASAP, and I'll bet I know what will become of those spam-only accounts. In fact, those types of accounts are very predictable in terms of how many try to flood our wikis. DarkMatterMan4500 (talk) (contribs) 17:49, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Global lock

Naleksuh (talk) 18:29, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes check.svg Locked. I'll try and review them later today to see whether there are additional open proxies/web hosts that need to be globally soft blocked. Thanks for your report. Dmehus (talk) 18:34, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please globally lock me.

I have decided to retire. I am sure I want this account to be locked. due to the fact I have retired this account doesn't have much worth anymore. And if I do return, I can always give an unlock request through email. ACoolBlaze5 (talk) 23:44, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ACoolBlaze5 Yes check.svg Done. We're sorry to see you go. Should you return, please ensure you have a confirmed e-mail address associated to your account, so you can recover your password, should you forget it. Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 23:55, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request to close four wikis I was temporarily hosting on Miraheze

I requested several wikis to be made in January for temporary hosting on Mirahesze. Three of which I was taking independent from Fandom / Gamepedia and one which was a language variant of my independent wiki. I've since obtained the URLs and set the wikis up on my personal server (links below if proof is needed) so I no longer need to host them on Miraheze.

Now hosted under:

--Korra II A Royal (talk) 11:17, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Korra II A Royal Though we normally prefer to have wikis closed and deleted per Dormancy Policy, you've articulated a clear reason for deletion, are either the main or primary contributor to each of the above wikis, and some of these subdomains may be desired for future wikis, potentially, so I'm going to say this will be Yes check.svg done, with the wikis marked as Yes check.svg deleted. We're sorry to see your wikis leave us, but hope you will remain part of the Miraheze community. Regarding your Vampire Hundress Legend Series' new wiki, I wondered if vampire-huntres.com was a typo in your above domain name, or if you actually meant to register vampire-huntres.com and not vampire-huntress.com? Request for Dormancy Exemption for a personal wiki

I'd like to request a dormancy inactivity exemption for (U1GA Encyclopedia) and (Taznanite Codex) to prevent deletion via inactivity, I am the sole editor of the wiki and this is a personal project, it's a lot to get into but it's only for cataloging information that isn't updated very often, aside from my current edits to build and set the wiki itself up, it's character and world information that has is meant to be cataloged for others, but there's a limit on that and once I get everything in, it doesn't really update much. And in the case of the second one, it's a case of writers block where details are added very slowly, it's a lot to get into and a bit personal, but I worry about both pages randomly wiping before I can do something due to various circumstances. JuleKing2921 (talk) 22:06, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

JuleKing2921 Thank you for your request for an exemption to Dormancy Policy; however, seeing as these two wikis were only just created between two and five days ago, I'm going to mark these as X mark.svg not done for now, only because you've only created a few pages on each wiki. One of the reasons for Dormancy Policy is because users will request wikis, and then either abandon their wikis or migrate their wikis elsewhere without telling us. At any rate, there's no imminent danger of your wikis being closed anyway, as they wouldn't be deleted until at least six months from the date of last edit/log action. They aren't even marked as inactive until the 45th or 46th day since the last edit or log action, for which you can just reopen your wiki(s) in Special:ManageWiki on your wiki(s). So, while as the only editor, you've identified a need for an exemption, I just want to see you build your wikis a bit more. So, would you please reapply for an exemption in a couple months from now? Thanks. Dmehus (talk) 22:45, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting interwiki for myself on celestewiki

As per interwiki administrator eligibility policies, and this discussion, I'd like to grant myself Interwiki Administrator status. locally, on Celeste Wiki. This would make me the first interwiki admin on the aforementioned wiki.

Thank you, Celeste (talk) 01:31, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
